My dislike of him has everything to do with his personality, and nothing to do with his merit as a character. I've disliked him since his introduction. Something about him is just extremely grating.

There is one good thing about the Bount arc. Kurotsuchi just realizing he got played by the Bounts just made my day. I hate that jerk.

In that case, you should check out the third movie. All of the movies are set more or less right after the Soul Society arc AFAIK.

EDIT: On second thought, it might be best to wait until you've seen the "pendulum arc." There's some reference to it in the third movie, albeit vague.

Show is so much better post Bount arc it is ridiculous. I'm still on the first episode of the Arrancar arc and it is better than the whole Bount arc. So I'm guessing that Vaizards are Shinigami become Hollows, and Arrancar are Hollows become Shinigami? Of course I don't know that Grand Fisher plus Zanpaku-to is whatever an Arrancar is, I'm just assuming.

WTF-EDIT: Ichigo's dad is a Shinigami?! Captain class, too?! REALLY? That is.... pretty badass actually.

That's basically the idea. Vizards are Shinigami who have learned how to create a Hollow mask and use hollow powers, and Arrancar are Hollows who have removed parts of their mask to gain Shinigami powers. And Arrancar releases aren't like normal Shikai, it's more of a physical transformation of the arrancar itself.

And yeah, new Grand Fisher was an Arrancar, albeit an extremely weak one, especially when compared to the Espada.

"Captain Class" isn't as impressive as it sounds - it basically means any goon who could hypothetically qualify to be a captain. The actual guys who are actually captains could manhandle "Captain Class" guys like expendable mooks, and will do so. .

I felt like looking up some of the voice actors. Fun fact: Keigo, Ichigo's over-emotional friend that is freaking out ALL THE TIME, has the same voice actor as Kamina from Gurren Lagann. Ikkaku, the bald guy from Kenpachi's squad, has the same voice actor as Viral from Gurren Lagann and Link in Ocarina of Time. The Keigo one made me laugh the most just because the characters are polar opposites.
