Yeah, I think that was the reasoning. Still, I wonder if something like this could be done with the forum moderators playing talent judges. Lord knows, Fifthfiend could play the role of Simon easy.
Of course, I don't think there's a Moderator who could fit Paula's role, as none of you are *THAT* loopy, or at least not in that way. SWB

I'm pretty sure we don't have the time to sift through hundreds of entries either. Or inclination. Imagine having to read 100 Kirby2000 or wight24-style entries with airbrush blood effects, no backgrounds and jpg artifacts for every Rich Burlew entry.
e: that comes off as meaner than it was meant; I'm sure most entries are/usually were fine but I also stick with the assumption that there would be more crap than you'd want to read. And anyway if Brian truly needs guest comics again he can just slap a King Steve script together and give it to Scott, Zack or Matt to draw. |

I did it. I made a comic according to a script that had lots of out of character dialogue for the original characters. Then I changed the characters and it still seems out of character because none of the two (one?) guys in the comic are dumb enough to qualify as King Steve.
Of course it sucks because I lost my script and did it from memory, so the originally carefully chosen wording is now word salad. Enjoy. ![]() Yes, it's intentional. Oh, man, I made a typo that slightly changes the meaning of a sentence. Fuck. I wont correct it 'cause I'm lazy. Last edited by InsaneGenius; 11-05-2009 at 03:33 PM. |

Why not have a rating system? You could just install a poll and post your comic somewhere, it can be rated and when the poll closes you have your rating.

Determining guest comics per poll has the disadvantage of your comics going public before guest comic time starts.
We did get a thread after just about every guest comic week where people would post their entries that didn't make it. In fact! ![]() Historical background. Looking back, not sure what's up with the "instant" thing. |

I've always been a fan of hand drawn guest comics, I enjoyed those when they were posted tbh.

The problem that I have with guest comics is that the characters get blown into ridiculous caricatures of ridiculous two dimensional caricatures of slightly more dimensional NES era RPG heroes.
They just lose all their subtlety and intricate parts of the non-guest comics! :P
