View Full Version : Am I the only one in the world that dislikes Katkat?

Maybe it's just my inherent distaste for cats, but everything about Katkat just rubs me the wrong way. The way Nuke dotes over him is sickening (though I realize it was intended that way), the way he always ALWAYS seems to be one step ahead of everyone despite being a cat...I just don't like him. No matter how cutey-wutey adorable he may be.

I think the fact you dislike cats might have something to do with it. Personally, I think the reason I like Katkat is because he's fairly realistic. He acts just like my cat, only he's not evil - or at least not obviously evil. He still has them wrapped around his little paws, but that's fairly normal for all cats I'd think.

As far as disliking Katkat, maybe he goes just a little far with such things as video games and landing planes. Funny to see Sparky react, no doubt, but it makes him sort of "all powerful" which could be a disliked feature.

That WAS a running joke in the book, though, that cats are more intelligent than people, or at least capable of easily manipulating people and equally intelligent. Ima Genius, even mentioned at one point that she had been doing scans on various animals to be certain they ARE just animals and not overlords using humans as slave labor, but she'd never been able to get a conclusive read on any cats.

Yes.

Trivia! KatKat is physically based on the legendary Scooter, Brian's favorite cat growing up. Not so much personality-wise, maybe -- Scooter was smart enough to turn lightswitches on or off if asked, but he was more of a lovable doofus than a good-natured Machiavelli. I wish I'd been able to know him -- he was killed by a car a while before Brian and I met. We still have some pictures of him around the house, I'll see if I can scan the prettiest one for y'all sometime.

Heh, cutie cats. My best friend has a cat; I slept over at his house about a year ago, and when I woke, the cat was sitting on my chest, staring at me. With its black, soulless eyes...wait, what's happening?
