Okie, I finally finished the book. I did not get the four line poem by some other guy brian quoted. I am totally confused. Didn't Atomik Lad die? Nukie was talking about how Atomik Lad died, and now he is alive. I'm sure I heard/read somewhere you were making a new book called "Atomik Age" with Atomiknight. Well with Nuklear Man out of the picture, i don't really think the new book will be very funny unless you introduce a new character.
So two questions.
What happened at the end?
Who will be the new comic relief?

Also, yesterday I asked about the thing where they spit out water and juice. Yes yes, I was watching TV, and it came directly from the Faerie Oddparents. Yes yes, Very much >.< Eccept they use coffee. Just thought you'd like to know.

for some reason, i dont think the spit take was started by the fairly odd parents. and atomic lad is alive, which is how he was talking and moving at the end of the book. his field had protected him subconciously from the nega blast thing.

and no idea about Atomik Age, but im pretty sure it wont suck because nuklear man isnt in it.

Nuklear man is in it, just not the focus.

It's traditional in some cultures for a storyteller to give a little "thanks for listening" at the end to the audience.

As I mentioned, I'm sure the joke has been done by others. I wrote it back in '97 and hadn't seen it before at that time. Whether or not someone else did it before then, I don't know and it doesn't really matter. It's a fairly obvious extention of the traditional spit take. I've never watched this Oddparent show but I'm pretty sure it aired several years after I finished writing my book.

There's several new characters. It's pretty funny so far, though it is written in a decidedly different tone than NA.

A little bit off topic but on the subject of the new book I don't think humor will be a problem and frankly some new and interesting jokes will be nice as hilarious as Nuke is hundreds of more pages of the same type of jokes would probably get annoying.

I have a feeling the tone of the humor in Atomic Age will be more like several of the parts without Nuke in Nuklear Age. Notice that without Nukie present (ei Sparky and Rachel's gaming/movie/dinner/more gaming date, Angus searching for a bar) the tone is noticable different than his constant "Damn, I'm Pretty" antics. Still in the same vein of incompatance, but different. It will be a good read. (In 2012)

That "four line poem by some other guy brian quoted" is from the Hávamál, part what is otherwise known as the Poetic Edda (or Elder Edda, or Codex Regius, etc). The Edda is where we get the majority of our knowledge about Odin and the other Norse gods. Hence, considering the ending, I am sure you can see some connection between the two.

Specifically, the Hávamál contains "The Sayings Of Har" and Har being a reference to Odin. Again, considering the role Norse Mythology played in the book, this seems very appropriate.

In general, I believe it was in direct responce to Brian's humor philosophy that he stated in the apologie.

I love you. Nobody ever knows that, so I find its usually a waste of my time to explain it. I feel worse for Brian, who had to actually write it.
