Swords of Fate: part 2

[Squishy Cheeks]

"Um, I believe the guy said the sorcerors run the museum. So you should probably talk to one of them." Drae'san turned to his combatant and removed his sword, bow, quiver, but left his dagger at his side. "Argerai is unarmed combat. When we duel among my people it is considered dishonorable to draw the blood of a family member. But if you really want to duel armed I'd have to use my sword. My knife has similar rules as your blade."

"I have a few more questions, but I am anxious to see this duel...I can wait"
at least, knowing what these people fight like cannot be of harm to me

[Raiden]

Tama continued to stay near the background. He wasn't a high-ranking Samurai simply by barging in and not thinking things through.

"Alright, I'm outnumbered, they all have weapons, the only weapon I have is a sword that does some freaky stuff, and I have no idea where I am or why I'm here. Maybe if I hide out back here, they won't notice me."

[Darth SS]

Meran noticed the samurai. He walked over, "Hello. I'm Meran Duclaw."

[Dante]

OOC: The actual duel may have to wait... got work now and it may be troublesome... maybe in another two or three hours...

[Raiden]

Tama looked Meran over. He didn't seem evil. But he didn't seem good, either. You could never really tell nowadays. He cautiosly put his hand out, and shook hands with Meran.

"My name is Tama. My last name is of no concern to you at this moment. But, if you don't mind, could you tell me what the hell is going on here? I kind of just woke up, and all of my weapons are gone except for this katana I got as a present."

Hiro was looking at another eye puzzle thing. "Hm... This one seems to be... Ew..."

[Darth SS]

"Cold shoulder person. Well we were all magically transported here after being knocked out and now we're supposed to find some guy's swords. Yes, makes about as much sense to me as well.

[Raiden]

Tama rubbed his head. Either his bump was REALLY bad, or he needed to lay off the saki. Speaking of saki, where was his? He searched around in his bag, and found a jug. He popped off the cork, and took a deep drink.

"Ahh. That's the stuff. Want some?"

Tama offered the bottle to Meran.

[Darth SS]

"Nah, sorry. Never been big on hard alchohol. Especially after I did it when still your basic warrior. Woke up one day hanging upside down half-naked in the princess' stable."

[Raiden]

Tama took another drink of the Sake.

"Trust me, I need this stuff to make sure that something like that DOESN'T happen to me. I'm violent when I'm drunk. But, the thing about this sword is, it doesn't work when I'm drunk. Or when I'm close by someone who's smoking the devil grass."

(OOC: Devil grass=marijuana)

[Darth SS]

"Sorry, elf. Devil grass, plus me=unconscious for a couple days. And since I'm a commander, I gots standards to uphold."

[CelesJessa]

Khakoi heard Hiros comment about the next eye puzzle thing, "'Ew' What?" Khakoi walked over and looked at it, "I don't see how anyone can do these things..." She muttered, then she glanced at Hiro, raising an eyebrow, "And I don't want to know what you thought you saw in there if you said 'ew'." She yawned, "How much longer are we going to be in this museum?" She asked, getting bored looking at exhibits and pictures of things, in her opinion, the best way to discover something is to go out and see it for yourself.

[Squishy Cheeks]

Drae'san attempted to step on the stone platform but when his foot came in contact with the stone it started to glow. then the sand formed to combatants dressed similar to Drae'san. They bowed to each other then proceeded to ferociously kick, punch, gouge at each other this ent on for several moments till a real victor was standing over a soundly pummeled loser. his foot on the losers chest. "Wow." Drae'san said.

"Now that," remarked Ainaz, "was pretty shibby, mate. And you guys do that all the time?"

[Dante]

Zato observed the battle of the warriors with feigned disinterest.

Their style of fighting is simple, ferocious and effective as opposed to the stalking, long-ranged way that Ron taught me... much like comparing the motions of a lion and a tiger.

He turned to Drae'san. "Do all your people fight like this? I could learn quite a lot from this demonstration."

[Squishy Cheeks]

"The style was a bit archaic, but still accurate. Argera isn't the prettiest style but it is effective. it's over 2000 years old after all, we've had time to work out all the kinks, and embellishments."

[BMHadoken]

Jude was not as impressed by the fighting style, or the magic floor which seemed to generate its fighters. Fighting merely with your hands and feet was for commoners and drunks. His hook swords swayed under his robe as he walked around the 'exhibits', fascinated.

Uoyot started to grow impatient. Altough this style of sparring is fascinating to watch, I little use for it. Uoyot walked around, observing those in the group, briefly walking through the museum, inquiring about the gadgets throughout the property with mild interest. After awhile, he wandered back to the side of the dueling ring. "So, when are we going to get to work on this job?"

[Squishy Cheeks]

"He said he'd give us the day to think about it. Then he'd meet us back here." Drae'san said. "I wonder if any of this other stuff moves." He went over to the warrior leaning off the horse cutting reeds. and touched the warrior a track of the floor began to blink and everyone cleared the area. Suddenly the statue came to life and started chopping the reeds. an inch from the top. He turned his horse and switched cut another inch. He repeated this process until the reads were only an inch from the ground. (an actual archaic military technique to teach control with the blade and horse.) The reeds then instantly grew back to full height and he charged them again stopping in the place he began in.

...i would imagine he'll get mad if i say that looks silly. and is a waste of good reeds.

"Hmmm," pondered Ainaz, "I wonder if there's a room for my clan...."

Uoyot walked off and headed towards the room that the group originally came from. That massive pile of gold was definitely more than he'd ever seen in his life. It was tempting, but Uoyot knew from past experiences that greed can get someone killed (and sometimes it happened by his hand). What was even more fascinating was the collection of swords, each of them with unique, and sometimes strange properties...just like his own. After a few minutes more of admiring the blades, he went outside.
Well, I guess that all I can do now is wait... he thought while he unsheathed his blades, and sat down with them on his lap. The swords provided a perfect environment for meditation, as they provided a moderately noticible amount of darkness and silence about him in a roughly spherical area of about 5 feet in diameter.

[Raiden]

Tama took another drink of his Sake, and started to look around.

"Boring, lame, stupid, nothing of much interest to me here. Wait, what's that?"

Tama looked at what seemed to be a statue of a fighter, holding a glowing Katana. The fighter was surrounded by what seemed to be demons. When Tama looked closer, he saw a plaque on the ground.

"Kurama Genkai. The Wielder of the Raigaki, the legendary Demon-Slayor. Raigaki was crafted by a demon named Yurei, with the help of Jae'sun." Tama walked closer to inspect the fighter's katana, when the panel he just stepped on glowed, and the figures sprang to life.

"Well, let's see if that fighter deserves that sword."

Tama watched as the demons flashed around the small arena, and the fighter stood it's ground. When a demon attacked, the fighter leapt up high, and swung down with his katana. When he landed, the demon had split in two. The fighter ran across the arena, slashing at any demon that got close to him. The demons ended up on the ground in pieces. More demons appeared. The sword in the fighter's hands glowed, and when he swung, large blades of pure energy shot out of the sword and incinerated the demons. When the arena was littered with demon corpses, the fighter sheathed his Raigaki, bowed in the way of the Samurai, and returned to his resting place. The slayed demons reformed, and they all turned back to their statue forms.

"Wow! That was some spectacular swordsmanship!"

(OOC: A cookie to anyone who can name what RP Kurama Genkai came from. Some of you guys better know it, because it's one of the few RPs that ever finished.)

OOC: Oh... Soilders of Light

Hiro watched the fight, and the demon thing. "Eh, Shifter is much cooler... Isn't that right?" The silver covering his right arm moved a little.

[Raiden]

(OOC: Took you long enough.)

Tama turned to Hiro.

"It may be an old sword, but still, against a group like that, and with skills like that, it's still quite impressive."

[Darth SS]

Meran looked at another, that was right next to it.

"Something...Drak maybe? Next one starts with an s....can't make it out...slaber? No, slayer."

He watched it. The man with a band over his eyes, stood and drew a pair of wicked looking blades.

It fought the same kinds of opponents as Kurama had, and while it wasn't as amazing, it was still fairly impressive. Then it morphed into...a kitten.

At that point Meran lost attention on that as he said, "Ok, whoever this is? He's an idiot. I mean, come on? A kitten!?"

[Squishy Cheeks]

"If your looking for dragon slayers, those are in the chamber of horrors." A loud booming voice said. A man dressed similar to Jae'sun said as he came into the room. "All the murderers mentioned in the museum are down there."

[Darth SS]

"Nah, looks more like Demon." Meran stood straight up and shrugged. "I'm assuming you're going to provide us with further explanation."

[Squishy Cheeks]

"What would you like to know more about, young one."

[Darth SS]

"Well, dismissing the fact I'm a couple hundred years old, but you ARE frickin' ancient... Why us, who do we go after, and how much time out of our lives is this going to take?"

[Squishy Cheeks]

"I do not know what you mean. I am Solara, the dragon it is a pleasure to meet you."

[Dante]

"Solara the dragon? You certainly don't look like one," Zato said.

[Darth SS]

"Damn dragons all looking the same..." Meran muttered some more.

[Squishy Cheeks]

The figure seemed to grow his reptilian armor becoming scales, the featureless face plate growing draconic features. The cape becoming wings. The dragon now dominated the room as the largest thing there. "Is this better?" he asked. "The armor form tends to garner the most respect of our humanoid forms."

[Darth SS]

"Much. Thanks."

[Forever Zero]

"Well at least theirs no confusion now." Darius muttered. He had been walking around and examining the art. He enjoyed teh art taht came alive and gave demonstrations, but he really wished the wing with the swords hadn't been closed, since that was what he really wanted to see.

[Squishy Cheeks]

"I must be going we have to prepare the holograms for the children, we are expecting a field trip today." The dragon returned to his armor form and went towards the lobby.

[BMHadoken]

Jude had somehow stumble into the 'chamber of horrors' the dragon had mentioned, and was now gazing at a strange tapestry.

Found in the wake of a Demon Portal, titled 'Grim's Present'...presumed to be an early celebration gift. The plaque under the grand painting said. It showed a humongously oversized man, the humans around him came up to about his kneecap, with wings and claws and...wait, it kept changing.

Jude went back to the plaque, wiped off some dust, an discovered that it added : Picture changes very rapidly. Its not your eyes. Which reassured him some.

Jude decided not to dwadle and went back to the others, catching a glimpse of the dragon reverting to its human form.

"Whats a hologram?" Jude said, finally speaking up.

[Squishy Cheeks]

"It's how these demonstrations work." The dragon said. He demonstrated by walking through the horseman and the reeds. "Just a trick of the light. Now if you will excuse me, I have errands to run."

[Raiden]

"Dragons, eh? The Samurai respect dragons greatly. I want to go see them."

Tama went down and entered the 'Chamber of Horrors'. As he looked around, he saw many statues of monsters from myths. There seemed to be monsters from almost every culture. They had the japanese dragons, but also had minotaurs, spiders, strange animal hybrids, almost any deadly creature imaginable.

[Squishy Cheeks]

ooc: Dragon killers are in the chamber of horror. Dragons are elsewhere.

[Raiden]

(OOC: Well, there are SOME evil dragons, so I'm guessing that they would be in the chamber of horrors. You know, the kind that kill humans for the fun of it, and stuff.)

[Squishy Cheeks]

ooc: yeah sure

OOC: Only Japanese dragons are the evil ones? Racist...

Hiro yawned, and left to look for a bench to sleep on.

[Raiden]

(OOC: I just said that he SAW japanese dragons. There are probably more. Somewhere.)

[Squishy Cheeks]

The group spent the day inside the museum wandering the galleries and exhibitions. they all returned at sunset to the sword gallery to find the dragon king waiting for them. "So, may I have your answer."

"I'll take your mission, Lord Jae'sun." Drae'san said.

[CelesJessa]

"I agree with him," She said, gesturing to Drae'san. "I'm ready for this mission."

Uoyot noticed this happening and came out of meditation. He put away his blades and walked towards the group. "I'm in," he said flatly.

[Forever Zero]

"I accept you quest Lord Jae'sun," Darius said calmly.

[gh0st]

"Me too!" said Ainaz. After all....it wasn't like she was doing anything else at the moment...

OOC: ehe. i'm not going to be on as much. i've got to share the computer with SS now.

[Squishy Cheeks]

"and what about you, few who have not answered? Will you take up my call?

[Dante]

"Was there ever any doubt? I'm in." Zato said.

[Raiden]

"Well, I've been looking for a new job lately. This isn't TOO bad. Sure, I'll join."

[BMHadoken]

"I will join this quest." Jude chimed in.

[IHateMakingNames]

"I'm in." Hiro said, whilst petting his big bag of gold.

[BMHadoken]

(OOC: We get gold? I musta missed the deal...)

OOC: Well, everyone was to get 1 piece of gold, but my guy grabbed 10, saying he was collecting for the group.(But if you try to take any, he will hurt you)

[Forever Zero]

OOC: And that's why my guy grabbed his own piece of gold...

[Squishy Cheeks]

"Oh by the way." He snapped his fingers. suddenly the shifter became lighter. and a gold cube appeared infront of the ones who hadn't gotten theirs. "I keep my promises."

[IHateMakingNames]

OOC: Shifter isn't a Jae'san creation...

[Squishy Cheeks]

ooc: but the gold is. and if you wish to pit your will against a man many consider to have the power of a god then go ahead. I promise he won't use his magic.

Drae'san pocketed his gold cube and bowed in respect to the immortal. the immortal returned the gesture of respect.

[Darth SS]

Meran sighed and said, "Okay, I'm game. Better be real gold though."

[Squishy Cheeks]

"I assure you I have more cash then I could ever spend."

"God damn finals tournament." A man cursed entering the room. "Why do you have to do this during the Gherkana? You know I had tickets." He has wearing an old brown leather jacket and a white cotton shirt over, blue cotton pants, the pants had the bottom of the legs buttoned at the knees. He walked up to Jae'sun.

"You are enjoying this aren't you gramps."

"Yes Seraph I am." Jae'sun replied.

"Sorcerors! These my cargo?" he said gesturing to the group.

"Yes they are did you receive their belongings?"

"Aye. Do you think I'm that much of an amateur?"

"No, I know of your skills. Well Capt. Corzi your cargo awaits." Jae'sun moved to leave.

"Pleasure as always to do business with you, Consul Jae'sun."

"Well shall we he said to the group."

[CelesJessa]

Khakoi eyed the man who was talking with Jae'sun. "So you're going to be taking us to all of our destinations?" She raised an eyebrow, "So we get paid, and free transportation? And there isn't a catch at all?" She asked, sounding a little suspicious.

[Darth SS]

"No, no catches at all. We're only going after a couple thousand people who have magically powered blades with different attributes that are being wielded most likely by maniacs corrupted by the power it gives them. No, no catches at all."

[CelesJessa]

"I considered those to be the perks of the job." She smiled a bit, but looked completely serious.

[Squishy Cheeks]

"I don't really care what he's paying you primatives to do. It's not my problem. I just have to get you safely to and from where you're going."

[Darth SS]

"Hey, hey, hey. Watch the language buddy. And do note there's no way this is my first-priority. There's too many people I need to help."

[CelesJessa]

"'Primitives'?" Khakoi looked at the captain and narrowed her eyes slightly, "Who are you calling primitive?"

[Squishy Cheeks]

"Fine by me, you be noble on your time (to SS), but I'm missing more of the finals than I want to so do you mind I'm in a hurry"

(to khakoi) "I call em like I see them, you probably still think the sun revolves around the world."

[Darth SS]

Meran raised a hand and said, "Elves have known that the world revolves around the sun for a couple hundred years. Try removing your head from your ass and actually looking at recent events that don't involve the latest way to rape a kitten before judging."

[IHateMakingNames]

Hiro wasn't paying to much attention, but then heard the elf taking about raping kittens. He looks at the elf, shocked. "What do elves do on their spare time?"

[Squishy Cheeks]

"Careful elf I might actually start to like you. You talk the talk."

[Darth SS]

Meran shuddered at that comment and then looked at Hiro. "The majority sit at home and play instruments. The rest of us mostly just don't do anything. Unless we have to."

[CelesJessa]

"At least I don't think the universe revolves around myself." She retorted. "We aren't working by your timetable; Mr. Jae'sun is the one who is paying us to get his swords and you to take us where we need to be going, so I see no reason for us to hurry up for you.""

[Squishy Cheeks]

"See if you thought that it would be a lie. That is only true for me, sugar." He blew her a kiss. "and I'm only supposed to drop you off, then you call me when you're ready. If you think I'm sticking around on the rounaud continent you're mistaken, that place smells like a sewer."

"shouldn't we rest first?" Drae'san asked.

"You can sleep on the airship."

[Darth SS]

"God damn. You better watch what you say, I might actually start to like you." He shrugged his shoulders a couple times and said, "Let's get a move on people. Sooner we're ready and get this done the sooner we can leave."

[IHateMakingNames]

"That sounds... Intresting..." Hiro mumbled to himself after the elf responded. Then he looked back into his Shifter bag, and looked at what gold was left. Jae'sun had only taken gold for each of the members of the group who didn't have a bar of gold, leaving Hiro with 7 extra gold cubes left. Hiro smiled as he petted the gold, then closed the Shifter bag and looked at the group. Then he realized something. I have no idea what any of their names are...

[Forever Zero]

"Well, I can see we are already off to a wonderful start on our quest," Darius muttered. He then said, "Wait, we still haven't been told what the first sword is we are retrieving, where it is, and who we have to take it from."

[Squishy Cheeks]

"Mr. fancy pants left you an intel packet." Seraph made for the door. Drae'san was the first to follow.

[Raiden]

Tama yawned, and pulled out his sword. His crystal Katana gleamed in the light.

"Did you hear that, little guy? You get to see your brothers!"

If you listened closely, you could almost hear the sword ring in anticipation. Tama put his sword away, and followed the other people.

[CelesJessa]

<What kind of arrogant, self-centered captain is he? I can tell riding in an airship with him is going to be hell.> She shook her head, then headed after Seraph to his airship.

[Forever Zero]

"Wee, this is going to be fun," Darius muttered, then followed the others.

While the group was arguing about this, Uoyot managed to sneak off.
I dont know if I can work with a tempermental group like this. I will have to rethink this task. he thought as he dashed into a nearby forest.

OOC: sorry, I have to make my character disappear for a while (I'm going on a cruise over xmas break) I'm gone for about 10 days and probably wont have access to a computer. I'll try to write up what my character was doing during my vacation and try to re-integrate myself smoothly. Good luck with the quest

Seraph walked out of the museum and turned left towards a large lake. sitting in the lake was an odd shaped boat. it had two overly large sails parallell to each other on the port and starboards sides. On each sails two small wind mills.

[Dante]

Zato, who had gone into another one of his introspective moods, listened impassively to the exchange between Khakoi and the captain.

An idiot. But not much worse than other idiots I've seen. Still wouldn't want to work with him, though.

He fell into step behind Khakoi and Drae'san, more out of habit than anything else.

[Raiden]

"Nice boat. Where'd ya get it?"

[Squishy Cheeks]

"It's a D.C. 404 aquatic landing airship, with the folding wings option. She needs a new paint job. I'm tired of ash gray. I'm thinking of putting polished brass plating, or oricalcum after I get paid for this mission. Maybe put in a sweet surround sound system."

[CelesJessa]

Khakoi looked at the ship, then at the captain, "How much are you being paid to haul us around on this thing anyway?"

[Squishy Cheeks]

"quite nicely. The big guy looks to make sure his employees are well taken care of so he only buys the best. Getting on sweet cheeks?" he said boarding the deck and just as quickly decending into the hold.

[CelesJessa]

Khakoi glared at him, "My name is Khakoi, mind you. And if you keep calling me 'sweet cheeks', it won't be my fault if you find a sword in your gut." She growled as she boarded the ship.

[Squishy Cheeks]

"<This is going to be fun.>" Drae'san said in Ali. He walked into the hold. he looked around the single room hold and saw his horse. "Proda?" he said. he walked over to his Appaloosian stallion. "I'm so happy to know you're ok." The horse nodged him. He saw a parcel near the horse with his name on it. It was next to his belongings.

[CelesJessa]

Khakoi made her way down into the hold of the ship, "So any information about where we're headed first?"

[Squishy Cheeks]

"look in your packet if you want info." Seraph walked toward the only door in the hold towards the fore. He opened the door and shut it behind him. "This is your captain speaking." a voice was heard coming from all around the ship. "All aboard that's coming aboard."

[Raiden]

Tama followed Drae'san into the stable area. He found his pure white stallion, Crystal.

"Hey there, girl. Did ya' miss me?" The horse neighed, and reared up.

"Yeah, I thought so." Tama took his packet, and opened it. A thick pad of papers fell out.

"Jeez. We got a LOT of work to do." Tama took the top paper first, and read it over.

"Hmm. Some guy has a Zweihander (OOC:Large sword, think Nightmare's sword in Soul Calibur) that has the ability to create large earthquakes. He's somewhere up north." Tama took another paper that was right after it.

"And some woman has a dagger that makes her invisible. God, this is going to be a fun trip, huh?"

[Squishy Cheeks]

"I think your mixing up your pages. those are two and ten. page one is a tomb invasion. It seems some group is after a gen 3 sword called... whirlwind?" Drae'san said looking at his packet. "We're supposed to find the tomb first and retrieve the sword."

[CelesJessa]

Khakoi was looking over her packet as well, "So we just have to get to the sword before that group does, right? Sounds easy enough."

[Dante]

"Tomb Raider, featuring Zato Roronoa... sounds like a crappy title for a crappy play if you ask me. I'll bet we'll have to push boxes around to get from one lvel to another. Then again, I signed up for this, so you won't hear me complaining."

He turned to Kahkoi.

"I hope you're not afraid of spiders, lady. Wouldn't do to have onbe of our intrepid band knocked out with fright."

[CelesJessa]

Khakoi raised an eyebrow at him, "Don't worry about me being afraid. I'm sure spiders are probably the least of our concerns."

Hiro got a packet, but never looked at it. Instead, he got up against a wall and sat down. Shifter moved the gold he took infront of him, and dropped it off, then returned to covering his right arm. Hiro stared at the gold, then started grouping them, planning on what he was going to buy with each one on their next break. He wasn't worrying about the job at all, seeing as there were several other people doing it to.
