The Elder Gods: ch 2

(saw we were over 100 [yay!] so started a new thread. same post as before. thank god for copy/paste)

ooc: arlight then, i'll just push us along.

As they were walking to the inn Ash was staying, they became better aquainted and had volunteered for Azrael's cause when he explained it to them. When the group reached the inn Ash pointed out, they all clammered inside and took a large table near the back. As they all settled down everyone turned to Azrael and looked at him expectantly.

ooc2: i know it sucks, but we arent getting anywhere really so its time to jump around a bit.

"What?"

[Raiden]

(OOC: Time now to join the group. Just have someone point me out, or something, because my character most likely won't greet you people.)

Samson pushed hard on the door of the inn. It swung open, and he walked inside. It was your typical inn, and there seemed to be a party going on. Since he was no part of it, Samson headed over to the bar. He pulled out the bag that he got from that Black Knight person.

"Hey, barkeep, a mug of the strongest stuff you got." A mug overflowing with drink came sliding down the bar, and Samson grabbed it. He sniffed it gently. It smelled like the stuff they used to remove paint from barns. He shrugged, and took a drink. His back shivered a bit as the drink burned down his throat. His attention went back to the bag. It was full of valuable baubles and other trinkets, along with some jewels.

"That was a pretty nice Black Knight. Gave me a good fight, AND he gave me money. I'll have to keep an eye out for him from now on."

OOC: We should all ignore Raiden... See how long he would wait until he just jumps into the group.

Kilik was looking at Rath, making sure he didn't try to steal anything, or scam someone.

Anzai looked around at the group that had gathered at the table. "Well, this is a great day, is it not? I saw we order some drinks and some good food, and officially start this party's alliance!" He looked to the owner of the inn, "What is good here to eat?"

[Raiden]

(OOC: Must refrain from hurting IHMN.)

"Chiken ala frikasje. It's a speciality. I have been here for 3 days, and I eat 10 meals a day. I figured, that if I am so young, why not just eat a lot, until I become thirty, and my metabolism slows down. That explanation followed because it is why I know what is the best meal here. By the way, try that wine there. My grandfather owned a winery," Ash quikly replied. "Oh, what did you do, Azrael? I know I have abad memory."

[Tenjin Matsukaru]

Argoth wandered slowly past a rather noisy inn trying to comprehend what had just happened to him. He stopped in the middle of the street and watched people eating, drinking and generally having a good time. His mind wandered off back to that day three hundred years ago when he had fallen protecting a group of pesants from his own kin. He watched a rather diverse group of people eating at a table and kept walking.

OOC: gotta love that edit button! By the way Argoth only prays to Aphrael for forgivness for a failure during his mortal existance.

Dezil had come into the inn after the others and also went to the bar for a drink. This wasn't the same as the pub he had been at earlier, and when he got his drink, it smelled and tasted like something he would use to clean rust off of his axe, but he gulped it down anyway. He kept his eye on the strange group of travelers, wanting to make sure they weren't hustled by their shifty 'tour guide'.

[Squishy Cheeks]

Azrael ordered a good year and vineyard of Arcium red. "This is the best wine i've ever had, also it's my families label." He said with a smile.

[CelesJessa]

Lia looked around, "Wow, we sure picked up a big group. It started out just me and the nice mercinary person, and now we're a whole mob of people!" She thought a second, "I think I'll have a drink as well in celebration. What should I get?"

[IHateMakingNames]

Ditz plus alcohol... That can't be good... Kilik coughed loudly, then pretended to sound like a real tour guide. "As a tour guide of this... City... I would suggest you drink water. The drinks here taste like... Um... Paint remover. Yes, that's it, paint remover."

[Squishy Cheeks]

"A glass of this." Azrael said as he poured the red wine from the bottle.

[CelesJessa]

Lia made a face, "Paint remover? Why would they make such awful drinks here?" She turned to the man who had just suggested the red wine, "Does it really taste that bad? It must be an aquired taste if people are willing to drink it."

[IHateMakingNames]

"Yes, it is very aquired. But here, you can try some." Kilik grabbed the cup from Azreal, and began to offer it to Lia. Then he 'accidently' spilled it on the floor. "Opps..." Kilik made a quick glare at Rath, just to make sure he wasn't trying anything while he tried to keep the target victim from getting drunk.

[Raiden]

Samson finished his drink, and was about to order another one when he saw someone he recognized.

"Argoth, buddy! How ya' been! The guards haven't been messin' with ya', have they? If they have, just tell me, and I'll take care of them. Si'down, si'down!"

Samson ordered drinks for both him and his black knight friend. What the drinks lacked in flavor, they made up for in proofness. He only had one drink, and already his senses were off. He was seeing two Argoths.

"My, you're clumsy, aren't you." Lia observed as Kilik spilt the drink onto the floor. She sighed, "I guess somebody should clean that up." She said as she stood up to get some towels to clean the small spill that Kilik caused by offering her a drink.

[Squishy Cheeks]

"I do believe you owe the church some money, dear kilik." Azrael said coldly. "That wine hardly tastes of paint thinner, and it is not cheap." Azrael swirled his glass and sniffed the contents. "Yes a very good year. A taste of razzberry and almond very fine." Azrael then sipped at his glass.

[Tenjin Matsukaru]

Argoth looked at his drink with a rather large amount of confusion how am I supposed to drink this. I've been dead for the last 300 years! He looks at his drink and then at the stranger who had tried to kill him not three hours ago. "While I am greatly honoured by this gesture" he removes his gauntlet revealing the ghostly image of his left hand. "I am phisically incapable of comsuming it and as it stands you seem to be quite crapulous"

OOC: I said it was a g o o d INN! Of course some drinks may taste bad.

IC: "Sit down, Lia. No harm done. I'v been watching for some time now and it seems, that they clean the floor every hour. By the way, why don't you have some of this wine. It's very famous. It's brewed in Rendor. It was a very good year then too (OOC: Whats the year anyway?)" Ash said ofering Lia a big glass of wine.

[Squishy Cheeks]

"Bah Rendor wine is a waste of grapes. Everyone knows the best wines come from Arcium. It's the climate, perfect for wine making. Rendor is a blasted wasteland. Although I have often wondered how you get grapes to grow in the desert."

[cruelty13]

"They are specially eugineered. They really do taste great. (OOC: I didn't know it was a wasteland... Oh well.)" Ash replied

[Squishy Cheeks]

"I also thought the religious zealots banned alcohol." Azrael commented. "Non Alcoholic wine is just grape juice. Give me a good Arcium red any day."

"Ah, whatever!" Ash replied smiling. Then the waiter showed up, Ash called him and asked : "May I buy the following for my self: A chiken ala frikasije, A appel cake and a Rendor red wine."

[MC43]

He looked up to the waiter as well. "You know what, that sounds good. Put me down for one of those chicken plates as well. As for my beverage, I'll just have a water, please."

[Dona Maria]

ooc: lol are you guys trying to get lia drunk?

Calie took her cue from the others, looked to the serving man and asked for venson and water.

I hate them all... "I'll take lots of water... And food coloring, lots of food coloring, red mainly."

[Raiden]

Samson looked at the ghost hand, but was too hammered to really be disturbed by it.

"That's a fine trick. I've gotta learn how to do that. But if you don't want your drink, I'll have it."

Samson took the mug from the black knight, and guzzled it down.

(OOC: Did I fail to mention that my character is an alcoholic?)

Lia finally returned after she finished cleaning the spill that Kilik had caused. She sat down at the bar with the others again, "Hmm... I still haven't gotten a drink yet." She sighed, "And the tour guide said everything tastes like paint remover... I don't like paint remover."

[Squishy Cheeks]

"your tour guide is either a liar, or an idiot. Cause this does not taste like paint remover." Azrael took another drink of his Arcium red.

[IHateMakingNames]

"Yes it does... Look..." Kilik grabbed the first person at the bar he found, and turned him around. "Does your drink taste like paint remover?"

[Forever Zero]

Dezil grumbled and said, "Indeed it does. A foul brand of whiskey they carry here."

[CelesJessa]

Lia frowned, then called the bartender over, "I guess I'll just have a water, please." Within a few minutes, she had a water, and was sipping at it, "It's too bad the drinks taste bad here, I was in the mood for something good."

[Squishy Cheeks]

"Then try this". He poured her a new glass of wine, and personally delivered it into her hand. "Just don't over do it."

[Tenjin Matsukaru]

Argoth watched as the stranger took the drink he had just offered to him and shrugged putting his gauntlet back on. Either no-one was watching when he had removed hes gauntlet or they were just too drunk to fully comprehend what he had just showed them.

Argoth glanced around the inn looking at the myriad of people. At one table he could see a rather diverse group of people. One of them made him curious though. He was sure he knew his face. It almost oozed arrogance and deciet. Argoth was suddenly filled with anger. He would do whatever possible to make sure that he did not take advantage of the group of people he was with. Argoth turned back around and waited.

"Oh, the food arrives!" Ash suddenly noticed and hastly grabbed her plate: "Oh, it looks so refined."

[Squishy Cheeks]

"Can I get a leg of lamb and some mint jelly. Thanks."

[MC43]

A plate was placed in front of Anzai, steaming with a piece of chicken, and toerht toppings that Anzai could even begin to describe. He took a sniff of the steam coming from the meat. "Wow... this smells good." He grabbed his fork and knife and began to cut it up.

Calie ate her food in silence when the serving man brought hers. When she was done her impatience at the group got the best of her and she blurted "So, are we going to stay together and fight or aren't we?"


ooc: yes, im rude. but reading about people eating and drinking for the past 2 or so pages makes me itch.

[Raiden]

Samson was whirled around by some man, and was asked if it tasted like paint remover. Samson simply burped.

"It tastes like somethin' strange, and it burns the throat like hell, but it still gets ya' hammered. *Hic*. God, this stuff is good."

[Forever Zero]

Dezil nearly fell off his stool in surprise when the woman at the table shouted. <Not a subtle one is she?> He thought.

"Fine by me. You know im on a grand tour of the nearest lands. I hope it won't take long. I'v only got a little money. only a million or so," Ash said seriosly. Then she continued eating the chiken food: "It is sooo tasty! I hope they cook that good where we are going."

[Tenjin Matsukaru]

Argoth remained quiet, though every inch of his body cried out to get up and rip the thief limb from limb. He looked to his left and saw a rather scruffy dwarf grumbling over how his whisky tasted like paint thinner. Argoth was curious, he had not seen many dwarves even in his many years of lurking in the forrest near Chyrellos. Argoth finially spoke " you, one of dwarven decent, may I ask where you are from?"

[Forever Zero]

"Why certainly, I come from the montain halls of Deira, why do you ask," Dezil said with a smile to the man.

[Raiden]

Samson patted Argoth on the back, and put on a drunken smile.

"Because me friend Argoth here is a curious one. Very curious. He likes to know things. And he does tricks, too! Lots of tricks. *HIC* God, this stuff really gets to ya'."

[Forever Zero]

"Well it looks like someone has been having a bit too much of the local ales," Dezil chuckled. He gave his hand to shake their hands and said, "The name is Dezil, and if you want to get drunk off of something better than rotgut, you should come to a dwarven tavern sometime!"

[Raiden]

Samson happily shook the man's hand.

"Oh trust me, I have. Great stuff. After one night in a Dwarven tavern, I was blacked out for three days! Good times, good times."

Temptation to burn down building... Rising... Kilik sat in a chair, listening to the drunks ramble on, and trying to figure out a way to prevent everyone from getting drunk with a thief nearby.

Calie just shook her head in disgust. "They sound like a herd of mating moose" she thought.

[Tenjin Matsukaru]

Argoth nodded "thankyou, Dezil. As my rather incapacitated friend stated I happen to be of a curious nature, which being a dark knight can often get me into serious problems because of humanity's tendancy to consider all Dark Knights as evil. Which I can assure you in my case is not true. My name is Argoth Desahn by the way."

[Forever Zero]

"Pleased to meet you Argoth. I've traveled quite a bit in my time, and learned more then once that appearences can be decieving, so I tend to not judge people until I know them pretty well, and so far you seem to be a decent enough sort," Dezil said.

[Tenjin Matsukaru]

Argoth nodded and went back to looking around the room before turning back to Dezil and saying "have you heard stories of the Chyrellos Forest Knight?"

"NEVER! Tell me!" suddenly came a shout from Ash. "Is it a legend of some sort. My hobby is collecting legends."

[Tenjin Matsukaru]

Argoth shrugs and pulls up a chair "There have been many accounts of a Ghost Knight who wanders the forests outside Chyrellos, mainly from the lower classes. There have been many recounts but all seem to describe the Knight the same way: eyes like fire, arms like tree trunks and a sword that could cleave the world in half. They tell of how he comes out of the darkness and defends those who are being attacked by monsters and thieves before vanishing as quickly as he came." Argoth smile within himself "the most interesting part about the story is that the Spirit Knight of Chyrellos forest is sitting right in front of you" Argoth removes a gauntlet and sticks his hand through the table.

[Raiden]

Samson smiled at the others, who seemed to be more surprised by the trick than he was. Of course, being drunk can help with that.

"See, told ya' he knows tricks. Good fighter, too. He almost made me work at it."

[Forever Zero]

Dezil took another drink from a different drink he had ordered and said, "Aye, I've traveled far and wide, but I can safely say that's the first time I've seen that."

[Raiden]

"Yah, I can do tricks, too! Wanna see?" Samson pulled his sword out of his scabbard, and held it up in the air. The blade began to glow red, and then it caught on fire.

"Fire sword. It comes in handy on dark nights." The sword glowed yellow, and it began to crackle with electricity.

"A guy can't fight if he's been electricuted." The sword glowed a light blue, and a cold mist started to float off of it.

"When a man is an ice cube, he isn't much of a threat." Samson spent the next 20 minutes showing off every kind of elemental alteration he could do to swords. He enjoyed it.

Kilik watched the drunken idiot do his simple little tricks, and couldn't help but laugh. Heh, this idiot thinks he knows elements. He started laughing louder as he kept thinking about it.

[Raiden]

(OOC: Why are you always so mean?)

Lia had been watching the man doing the elemental tricks with his sword, taking sips of her water, then she turned to her tour guide, who was cracking up laughing. She raised an eyebrow at him, then she whispered to him, "What are you laughing about?" She asked, worried that she had missed something.

Kilik stopped laughing long enough to respond. "Heh, it's just that this drunken guy thinks he knows elements... Hehe..."

[Forever Zero]

Dezil snorted and said, "That seems extremely rude, he may not be in his best state right now, but he does put on an interesting show."

[Tenjin Matsukaru]

Argoth swung his head around and looked at Kilik "you are a black mage, correct?"

[cruelty13]

Meanwhile Ash had been sitting, with her mouth open: " WOW! That's amazing. I wish I had supernatural powers. All I have is knowladge of being one of the only women who have been to a university and have actually studied there. "

[Squishy Cheeks]

"Magic isn't hard to learn you just need a good teacher." Azrael said. He saluted the dark knight with his wine glass. "Cheers."

[Tenjin Matsukaru]

Argoth nodded to Azrael "indeed and as for you learned one that is quite an achivement. I for one never studied at any such institution. You should feel proud"

OOC: in about four hours Im going on a holiday for 3 weeks so I am unsure weather I will be able to post

[Raiden]

(OOC: Don't worry, Tenjin. I'll just take temporary control of your character for a while. No incredible plot twists. I'll just make sure he gets some fighting in.)

Anzai crossed his arms and shook his head. "It's good to know such tricks, but when fighting an opponent, what will happen if you do not have your sword? It is much safer to trust your inner streagth, an the heart. They will never fail you."

[Raiden]

Samson made a look at Anzai.

"Well, your heart is all well and good, but your heart isn't going to pop out of your chest and kick your opponent's ass, now is it? I can use ANY sword, that's another one of my talents. That, and I can fight pretty well without a sword. Just ask Argoth." Argoth nodded.

"He fights well enough."

[MC43]

"Look at yourself. You can barely stand on your own two feet. I don't think you can tell the difference between a sowrd and a butter knife." Anzai crossed his arms and looked down. "You may possess great strength, but strength like that is all in the mind, not from the heart. If you believe, no person can defeat you."

[cruelty13]

"Well, maybe he can also battle well with a buutter knife. After all, the only diference is that the blade is blunter. Oh, And many thanks for the compliment, Argoth." Ash said, while sipping from a glass of wine.

[Dona Maria]

ooc: sorry kids, but I'm leaving the forum. JAD, if you want this one it's yours otherwise just let it die. Not much going on anyway. But I'll get my char out of there.

Calie had watched the group slipper lower and lower into the bowls of drunkeness. Finally she couldn't take it anymore and without a word, picked up her bow and left the inn. From there she left the city and traveled back out into the wildreness, figuring that if the growing evil was going to rid the world of the human infection, the sooner the better.

Samson watched as the girl left.

"Hmm. I wonder what her problem was."

"Oh well," Ashynthesya said while sipping from the glass: "More Tricks please!!!"

[MC43]

Anzai wasn't one for taunting, but he did enjoy the preformance that he was getting. He said in a plain voice, "Yes, please go on. What else can you do with that sword of yours?"

[Raiden]

"Well, I can also make stuff grow. Wanna see?" Samson's sword started to glow a light green, and with a grunt, he imbedded the point of the sword into the ground. After a few moments, thick vines pushed through the floor boards, and started to wrap themselves around chairs and tables.

"Yeah, I can do a bunch of stuff. I can do more, when I'm sober."

[cruelty13]

"OOooh*hic*, pretty colourš. *Umpth*" Ash proclaimed before falling down on the table into a deep sleep, pushing over her glass.

[Raiden]

(OOC: So, umm... Are we actually going to GO anywhere, or what?)
