Perditions Tale, Chapter 3: "The Heart of the Beast"

For once, the group got a decent night's sleep... if 'decent' is what you would call it. A few of them disposed of the leader's body somewhere, mainly because it was going to start stinking, and nobody wanted to go inside the house with the dead man.
Everyone was strewn out, sleeping in random places. There were probably enough beds for everyone to sleep in, but nobody wanted to go search too hard for a bed, so some people just made do with chairs or even on the floor.

Unfortunately.... their bliss was breif. The sun had hardly even risen over thedistant hills when the party recieved a... rather rude wake up call.

"What are your lazy, disgusting asses still doing in bed?!" Cid's voice drifted into the partys dreams, well more blared, rather than drifted.

"Ugh... It's morning already..." Cesia muttered, squeezing her eyes shut as the knight captain shouted out more commands to get them out of bed.

(OOC: Jad helped me out with that one. ^^ I was gonna put more... but I'm just gonna leave the first post like this. ^^;; And there we go, the group is actually gonna get to move and such this chapter.)

Lynx continued to sleep on a large chair.

Still asleep, *mumble*potatos*mumble*

Sometime during the evening Dawn had been moved back inside of the building, without her knowing of course. She had been so tired you could have probably screamed right into her ear and she wouldn't have woken up.

Of course, that was pretty much happening now that the sun had risen, and true to his word, Cid was up and bossing the others to get their 'lazy, disgusting asses' up and ready to go.

Her eyes opened slowly, and as she glanced around to figure out exactly where she was, Cid continued to bark orders. "Someone woke up on the grumpy side this morning..." She yawned, sitting up slightly and snuggling up a bit more in the ranger's jacket, which she still had from the night before.

"You had all best unfuck yourselves, or I will rip off your heads and shit down your necks. We are leaving NOW!!!" Cid yelled at his squad.

OOC: This part should not be happening without Raiden and SS...

That half-asleep look still on her face, she stared right at Cid. "You know, maybe if you asked more nicely, instead of treating us like we're nothing more than dirt under your feet, we'd feel more inclined to listen to you."

Lynx yawned and stretched himself out. "Well, he does consider everyone else dirt under his feet." Lynx stratched the chair, spun around in it, and lied down again. "Now shut up and go to sleep, 'oh great leader'"

Taim blinked, roused by Cid's yelling imprecations, and uncurled from his ball in the corner. He'd decided that he had no particular urge to sleep outdoors, and so he'd carried Dawn inside. She hadn't even moved.

"God damn....." *blinkblink* "who crapped in your socks, Cid? it's, like, not even dawn."

Seeing that no one else was particularly disposed to move, he curled back up into his ball, and ignored the rampaging soldier. It wasn't like he was being paid to be here, after all.

[Squishy Cheeks]

"Well if my voice doesn't motivate you, scumbag!" Cid pulled his sword. It caught fire. "I'll see if this motivates you."

[MasterZero]

Kalimare's lycan form stood right behind Cid, looming over him. He was not too happy with the angry wake up call Cid had decided so nicely to use. (sarcasm for those who can't tell)

"You mind running that by me again? You, as I have gathered, were voted leader, not dictator. And next time you threaten us, try to be within reality. Cause I would snap you in two if I didn't already know that it would just be a waste of time."

"I'm motivated..." She kept a completely straight face as she stood up. "...to just leave you here without anyone to heal your wounds. And I'm sure everyone else here wouldn't mind just leaving your ass by yourself." Damn... she had to have been pretty provoted to acting start cursing towards someone else, especially someone who could easily overpower her.

OOC: Go Zero

Lynx laughed to himself, watching the Lycan threaten Cid. "Remember, he wasn't even voted. He was appointed." For a dog, he's good.

[Forever Zero]

Vace heard arguing and yells coming from the building they had been in last night. Vace almost smiled, what must be a rousing fight was muffled by distance. He was a fairly light sleeper anyway, having to watch your own back in the wilderness did that, so he woke up when Cid started yelling, but he didn't have to put up with the threats and continued shouting at least. <Heh, let the pompous windbag wear himself out shouting at the others. I may just get a few more minutes sleep.> He thought, and readjusted in the chair he had found and rested his eyes, not fully asleep but not fully awake either.

[Squishy Cheeks]

"Oh fido thinks he can step to me." Cid was quick the pommel stone connected with the werewolfs solar plexis. he Then cuffed the werewolf in the back of the skull with it knocking him to the floor. Cid put the tip of the blade to his throat, as the fire died on the blade. "I don't kill my troops, but I will not allow you to disrespect me either."

ooc: And he's a badass. Your dealing with a man who has trained his entire life to fight. He'd be quite good at it.

"Stop it!" Dawn ran to Cid, grabbing a hold of his arm to try and get him to stop. "Are you insane?!"

OOC: So, your saying he could kill any of us if he wanted at any moment?

((OOC: I agree, play within your character's limits. If you remember, I mentioned that Kalimare was very durable...and very strong and fast.))

Kalimare blinked a bit and looked up at Cid. He then swatted the blade away and flipped up. Kalimare cracked his neck and then let out a sigh.

"Not bad. But you forget what I am. I won't attack you...yet. It would be useless to just rid ourselves of someone with the skill you possess. And trust me, I can see skill when someone makes a move on me like that."

Kalimare then turned and headed to the grass batches near-by. He was going to be hunting for some breakfast...

EDIT: Geez, you guys post OOC pretty fast!

OOC: And we will, but not just because Jad's guy is screaming and has a sword(When he is outnumbered, at most Raiden would be the only other person to want to go now).

OOC: Aww...but my guy can't be introduced till then...cant we have another fire?

OOC: Then try convicing the one guy who wants to leave(Jad) to back down, instead of trying to get everyone else to move.

(OOC: Well BM, I might have an alternate plan for getting you to join sooner, since we might not be moving from bed for awhile because the characters in the RP like to fight ^^ I'll PM you and if it's okay, I'll set it into action right away)

OOC: Jad, stop maiming the group and leave...more bees to honey and all that good jive...

ooc: and a drill sergent is outnumbered even more. You still wouldn't want to mess with him. The sergent will kill the whole squad if given the opportunity, and he'd do it with a smile.

Bah, i might as well get up. If a fight breaks out between the hardass and the werewolf then i wanna be ready to take cover.

Thid stands up and moves next to Lynx, "I bet 10 copper that the werewolf rips his head off."

(OOC: and thus, I'm taking the liberty to force things to get going,)
Cesia rolled over, not wanting to get up so she could argue with the others.

Suddenly, the whole house shook when a mighty roar eminated from a little bit aways, in the direction where they had disposed of the bodies of the bandits.

"W-What was that?!" Cesia shot out of bed, everyone suddenly stopped arguing and headed outside to see what the noise came from. Cesia took a quick second to wake the others who hadn't been woken up by Cid's yelling. She was a little weary of waking up Tamakatari, since he didn't seem to be the lind of person who liked to be messed with, but Cesia decided that they might need him, <plus he wouldn't want to miss a battle probably,> So she quickly shook him to wake him up, "Come on Tamakatari, something's going on." He blinked a few times, and that was enough evidence for Cesia to think he was awake, so she quickly run over and put her hair up, since she had taken it down to sleep and headed outside.


A giant monster stood in the ditch where they had tossed the bodies, probably drawn by the smell of them. It was very large, but it hadn't seen the group yet, the creature was busy devouring some of the dead bodies.

(OOC: this is how we're gonna meet BM's character, so don't obliterate the monster until his character shows up. Besides, the monster has a weak point that you'll have to find out.)

ooc: none of you should go into the military.

OOC: It might be hard to find a weak spot when all we know is it's large...

"Why would I bet for Cid? All he had is armor, once the werewolf cut through, he wins."

Lynx then heard pounding from outside. He quickly sat up and sniffed the air, and listened. "Footsteps?"

OOC: Why would she wake up Tama? You would think she would wake up SS's guy, the one that doesn't want to kill everyone

Jad, we know drill sargents could crush all of us with a finger, but you are not a drill sergant, and they are not new recruits. 1v1, half of the group is evenly matched with you(And I'm being generous)

OOC: Can I control it a little? Just to set it up?

Cid's sword flared, as did his shield.

Out of curiosity, Thid went outside to see what was going on.

"Holy crap, lets just leave it alone and it might go away. I hear those things are more scared of us that we are of it."

Dawn let go of Cid's arm, making her way outside with the rest of the group cautiously. As she came further out, she spotted the large creature haunched over in the ditch with the bodies. "Ew..." Her face twisted in mild disgust, mostly from the sight of the beast.

OOC: Yes

"Lets go with Thid's plan, unless it attacks us. No point attacking something that large for no reason."

OOC: Just in case ghost past this part, just go read the PM I sent... It's all of what happened, but very, very short

Vace had heard more fighting, and even what sounded like some physical fighting, when suddenly there was a roar that shook the small abandoned town. Vace jumped up, grabbed his swords which he had put down to rest, and went back on the roof of the bar so he had a good view and so he wouldn't be surprised. When he got out and saw the huge monster, he was surprised anyway. <This, is not going to be fun...> He thought, before he jumped down off the roof and ran to where the others were assembling.

OOC: Yes, most of us are equal or better to your character Jad. My guy was raised by the greatest soldier the kingdom had until he retired, then he trained my character to be a better soldier than him, so at minimum my bio backs up that my character is the equal, or possibly the superior, to yours. All of the other core fighters are also equal or better, so don't try to bully an unwilling group, because we could destroy your character, and most of our characters would relish the chance. So will you both stop what is officially one of the dumbest OOC wars I've seen so far and get back to the story?

(OOC: feel free BM. And sorry about my sucky description of a monster. *ahem*)

The monster stood about as tall as the building that they had been staying in, and it walked on all fours. It's back is covered with scales, except one spot near the center of the back, which was only a few inches big anyway. He has a hideously large stomach, that almost drags on the ground. And on his feet, he has claws about as long as one of the bodie's he was digesting right then.

(OOC: and note, she woke up EVERYONE who was sleeping, not just Tama. I mentioned Tama to leave it open for some confusion for him open later. (I know that makes no sense, but if he does it, you'll see what I was talking about)

OOC: PM'd raiden whats going on, and leaving SS in the dark...

"Get in here you idiots!" Lynx yelled at anyone who was outside. "No point attacking something for no reason, especially something that could crush any one of us with one leg."

Vace was back and heard Lynx. "Sounds like a plan to me," He said and ran back into the building.

"At last the cat shows his only, yellow."

w00t, a cat after my own heart.

Thid hurrys inside and finds an nice secure corner.

Lynx sighed, in a cat way. "How you became a royal gaurd, I will never now..."

[LilWhiteMage]

"He's not being a coward, he's being logical. Unless we take our time and think about it, there's no way we could handle something that big. Just attacking it is for one going to make it angry and two put us in a disadvantage."

[Forever Zero]

"I see no reason to attack when it won't benafit anyone. The creature isn't harming us, and if we don't harm the creature, it will probably just leave. Fighting for a just cause is different from fighting anything that moves." Vace said.

Lynx then realized a flaw in this plan. "Everyone get near a window on the side the beast is on. If it's about to step on this building, run." Lynx jumped to a window, putting his paws on the bottom and looking through it. He watched what the thing was doing, as well as obseving it, for weak spots and strenghts.

"Most animals don't like fire so i'm quite safe. More safe than you are."

"One claw on that thing is bigger then you. I doubt it would be scared of a little fire stick."

[LilWhiteMage]

Giving a quite irritated look, she backed away towards the building. "Yeah... animals don't like fire... they get frightened by it and panic, only to do gods know what." She commented sarcastically.

[Forever Zero]

"In all honesty, this thing probably doesn't care much about fire. It's too big to receive much pain from anything a human could bring against it, and it has scales anyway. Umm, the other option is that it could become curious about fire and investigate, so fire doesn't sound like the best way out of this." Vace reasoned.

Jude watched all the outside action from atop a building about two doors down. He had heard that a local thieves guild was staying there, and had planned to rough em up and take the glory, until he had arrived to a ghost town.

That was dissapointing, but when he saw the huge monster, and the group that rushed out to see it, his spirits lifted somewhat...especially when he saw the meek looking girl...and those types of girls always loved the hero...he he he...

"Now why does everybody think that I'm brainless hmm?" The beast growled. It had stopped in front of the house facing Cid directly. "I'm actually quite smart, thanks in no small part to the father of mine you probably are out to kill." It said, clearly referring to the wizard.

Its mouth seemed to extend, growing and spreading into what appeared to be a sick attempt at a smile. To further accentuate its point, it hoisted itself onto its hind legs, its grotesque belly flopping and dangling above the ground.

"Go ahead, take a free shot, I'm invincible...and hungry..."

(OOC: Meek girl is Dawn)

Lynx looked up at the thing. "Ok... Now you can fight." Lynx could not see any definate weak spot, expect the stomach, which everyone probably already figured a weak spot.

OOC: My guy could probably reach the spot that only BM's guy is supposed to, but I'll let him do it...(Or I'll do it, and take the glory, which would piss off BM, because it's exactly what he is trying to do)

OOC: Even if you did reach the weak spot on its head, you wouldnt do any good...HEART of the beast...and a cat?

"Uhm... heh." Dawn grinned a bit sheepishly as the monster came before them, stood, and talked. "It.. can talk. Eheh."

She began to ease back away from the building. "Perhaps we should... uhm..." Looking to Cid, she put on the sweetest looking smile. "You go right ahead and handle him with your fire sword..."

OOC: How long is your spear? Or is the things heart really close to it's back?(And lets ignore the idea of bones I gues...)

To himself, "So it talks now?!"

Thid yells out the window, "Hey, big scary creature! Give peace a chance!"

Lynx jumped out a window, and climbed a tree, and jumped on a roof. A couple roofs across, he say an Avion. "Hey, bird man. Fly above that things back!"

[Forever Zero]

"Well, this is an unexpected turn of events, monster, and while your intelligence is surprising, your arrogance may be your downfall," Vace said, focusing at putting as much electricity into his claymore as he could, then stabbing at the beast with all his might. There was a sharp crackle, followed by a PING sound, and Vace was thrown back, only leaving a slightly burned spot to show his effort. "Hah, he isn't invincible, I think I chipped his hide..." Vace muttered, now backing away from the beast.

(OOC: Well, I wanted to keep his Avian-ese a secret (he's half Avian)...and not ignoring bones persay, there just weaker than the outside, easily cuttable...)

Jude did a quick spin on the roof looking for the voice that had popped into his head, but all he could see was a cat. He poked around his ears, then went back to watching the show...

(OOC: I'm torn between drawing it out and ending it right now...I gotta go to sleep soon...)

Thid, seeing his attempt to avoid combat go out the window with Lynx, decided to go with his secondary option.

"Hey heale- um, i mean Dawn, i'm sticking next to you!" Thid then stands *cough*hides*cough* behind Dawn.

OOC: I think it would be hard to hide wings...(If you don't have wings, I'll go back and delete post...) Of course, without them, your not really any Avion..

Lynx was looking right at the man. Lynx was on one side of the beast, and he was on the other side.

"Uhm, Thid..." Dawn turned her head slightly. "Why exactly are you standing BEHIND me?" She may not have been all there all the time in the head, but she wasn't dense. "You ought to know by now that I don't really know the whole fighting part of this."

[GatoFiero]

"?! Well yea, but you can heal me right? I figure, if i get hurt then i want to be as close to you as possable."

Lynx ignored the guy on the roof for now, and looked down at Thid. "Aren't you resisant to mag-" Lynx was cut off then the beast hit him with one of it's legs, sending Lynx flying off the roof, and over others.

[BMHadoken]

(OOC: He has mini-wing type thingies...like Raziel, so he can't fly, but his taloned feet (think like a chickens legs from the kneecap down) are covered by baggy clothes...and he wants to kill it when it would look coolest to impress Dawn the most. Also, he knows nothing about your cat, which is why he doesn't respond to the telepathic thing *assuming your still using that*)

Jude watched with mild delight as the fighter rushed the creature, then got blown away. At the blowing away part, he looked kind of worried, since he would probably only get one chance to make it work...and what was with that damn cat...

All of Cid caught fire now. He struck with great force. It was enough to unbalance the creature. and it fell on it's side.

OOC: I don't think Jad understands the point of this creature...

[Forever Zero]

"Good to see we have the brave and noble Thid, hiding behind Dawn, to help us out," Vace said, looking for which way to run when this thing decided to attack. "A much better plan would be to run if it gets distracted by something," Vace said, "Something like this!" With that, he reached into his shirt, and pulled out a handful of metal bits. He electricly charged them and threw them at the only unarmored place he could see, the eyes. It didn't hurt the thing, but it recoiled back, stung by the electriclly charged metal that hit its face. "Now get out of here!" He yelled, swinging at the side of the temporarily blinded monster and drawing it away from the building.

(OOC: Nope...Jad's the new Raiden...)

The creature rolled, its belly smooshing against it and making disgusting sloshing noises. It then got up and chuckled.

"Pretty good for a human...my turn." It said, then swiped blindly at Cid, catching him and sending him flying into a wall.

[Squishy Cheeks]

Cid sheathed his sword and grabbed his lance.

[GatoFiero]

I'm reminded of mice attacking a cat...CAT?!

"Hey Lynx? You ok?"

[LilWhiteMage]

"I can't just run away.. what if someone gets hurt?" Just as she said that, Cid went flying into the wall. She shut both eyes and cringed, slowly opening one of them back up. "Like that.."

[OOC]
He gets up that quick after being slammed into a wall? o.-

Lynx was lying against a wall on the other side of the town, in great pain, bent in a way he shouldn't be. "Ouch..." He hoped that was loud enough for the healer to hear.

OOC: I know. BM, I would just kill this thing(Wounding it and it running is probably a better idea... Less god mody since none of our guys SHOULD be coming close)

[Squishy Cheeks]

"Is that all you got." Cid said gripping his lance tighter. He charged at the creature.

(ooc: I haven't god moded yet. Everything i've done has been perfectly within the bounds Celes and I discussed so get off my back.)

[LilWhiteMage]

"Wow.. he's either very brave... or extremely stupid for running in there again." Dawn sighed a bit, then murmured softly to herself. "Probably the latter..."

[BMHadoken]

The creature shook its head, sending bits of blood, bone, armor, swords and spittle flying out. It quickly (for a creature of its size) rounded onto the house, kicked Cid away while he readied the hefty lance, then tore open the roof.

"Mmmm...female meat...so soft..." It growled, tongues darting in and out as it eyed Dawn and Cesia.

Jude decided that this was the perfect hero moment, and readied his spear, jumping straiht into the air. As he was about 30 feet up, he let his wings flap out a little to adjust himself, then folded them back in and freefell, spear pointed down.

As the creature began to rear its head to strike, Jude came crashing down, driving his spear all the way down into the exposed skin, then forcing the handle to go in nonetheless.

The beast let out a horrible wail, and attempted to grab at its head, and Jude decided to let his spear go for a moment, and backflipped off.

The creature began to curse in some strange toungues, then rolled back and forth on the ground trying to pry the spear out, but to no avail. It weakly got up, and began to charge Jude, who merely jumped out of the way and watched it lamely fall to a slump.

Jude walked over, found the spear, and yanked it out only to find it covered in purple and orange guts.

"Yuck...shit." Jude said aloud, then cursed himself. What self-respecting Dragoon ever said "yuck"? Not him...maybe they didn't hear?...

He walked over to the group, specifically in front of Dawn, and bowed.

"Hello milady, my name is Jude, a humble Dragoon who just wanted to help." Jude said elegantly, then twirled his spear sending various gut parts to land on Cid and Thid. "Is there any other way I can help you today?"

(OOC: Wee part of the group...ish...I guess we can say the monster is just in a mini-coma of sorts?)

OOC: I say we have it smack your guy into a wall, then it runs. And you probably would have thrown guts on the girls too...

*glares at the newcomer for getting monster guts on him, then he taps Dawn on the shoulder*

"Sorry to break up this little greeting but Lynx looks like he got hit with a cart, perhaps you should help him?"

[OOC] and with that i'm off to bed. You can control my character if you want, otherwise just assume i'm silently following [OOC]

OOC: I'm ok with the getting hit into wall thing...just another chance to mack up with Dawn...I go to sleep now...

Cid burned the filth off till none remained. He was limping. "Glad to see the lack of teamwork continues. I wonder how any of you plan to survive this mission, I really do."

Dawn yelped a bit as the monster started to come down on them, but stopped, seeing an odd image suddenly leap up into the air, and land onto the beast. It squirmed and howled, managing a final attack before falling down to the ground with a loud thud.

She started out, stopping when the Dragoon stopped before her and the others and bowed.

"Hello milady, my name is Jude, a humble Dragoon who just wanted to help."

She blinked a couple of times as he spoke pretty much straight to her. Turning her head and looking between the others for a second, she looked back at Jude again. "Eh.. thanks." She smiled a bit.

She quickly snapped out of it as Thid told her about Lynx's condition. "Oh no.. Uh, please excuse me... I need to go find Lynx." And with that she hurried off to find the poor cat.

<Great, along with all the personalities running around, we have Mr. Junior Hero, showing off his kill. Now I know why I did my jobs solo for so long> Vace said, holding leaning against a wall and catching his breath after the close call with the monster.

"Going... To... Killl... Bird... Man..."

[LilWhiteMage]

After a couple of minutes of searching, Dawn found Lynx all bent out of shape (pun intended? ^^; ). "Lynx, can you move at all?" She knelt down next to him, gentle brushing through his fur.

[Squishy Cheeks]

"The moral of the story CHILDREN is, Captain Cid is always right. You should not ignore his recomendations. When he says we should leave, we should leave. Now I swear the next one of you son's of bitches talks back to me. I'm collecting your head and I'm mounting it on a spike back at the castle." Cid mounted his horse.

OOC: Hehe, pathetic attempt to get this to work in his favor...

Lynx couldn't even look at Dawn. "Ow..."

ooc: don't make me get celes to smite you she's pissed as is.

Cid rode up to dawn. "Fix the cat and get ready to move out."

OOC: Overall, and most of it was over you.

Taim poked his head out the door of the house, blinking sleepily. "Hey, guys. What'd I miss?"

"Don't worry... I'll fix you up." She shut her eyes and just as she was about to start working on healing the cat, she heard Cid barking at the others again. "Ugh... I swear. He's so inconsiderate. If that Jude hadn't of shown up, we'd all probably be worse of than you right now." Getting her small rant out, she got back to the job of healing Lynx, hopefully before Captain Ahab could get there and force her to stop.

Vace simply looked in shock at Taim, and said, "You could sleep through the apocalypse, couldn't you?"

"He's all bark... No bite... Or brain..." Lynx moewed loudly(cat version of groan I guess). I was promised an archer... We needed one...

"I see your injuries don't prevent you from bitching about everything. Well rejoice your ordeal is almost over."

Despite Cid hovering over her and outright bothering her the whole time, she managed to cure Lynx, for the most part anyway.

She picked him up carefully in her arms, giving a daring glare to the man on the horse. "I guess we have to leave now." She said lowly.

Taim blinked at Vace, and ran a hand through his hair. "Probably. If given sufficient motivation. So i'm guessing something happened then?"

Seeing the body of the monster he nodded sagely. "Ah. Big scary monster. Got ya."

OOC: : P yeah, IHMN, i got the PM. But i figured there would probably be a reason for Taim not showing up to cower behind Dawn with Thid. And i was only gone for, like, two hours.....

Jude managed to wipe off the remains of the guts, then slid over to Vace, the only one who seemed coherent enough and wasn't busy.

"Whose the hard ass? And why are you all together anyway?" Jude said, motioning to the barking Cid.

Lynx got up and stretched out, to check if he was healed fully. Which he was. He walked over to the group, and looked at Cid. He laughed, then turned away, looking towards the direction of the wizards castle(Or whatever he lives in). He's going to regret coming on this mission...

Kalimare finally came back from hunting, ironically after he was needed most. He held a deer over his shoulder by the legs, it's neck was torn. Kalimare had reverted back to his normal form. He looked around, seeing a dead monster lying on the ground and everyone seemingly ready to leave.

"Um, did I miss something? Oh, I got us some lunch when we need it."

Lynx walked up to Kalimare, and sniffed the dead deer. "We'll leave after we eat... We haven't eaten in a while. Someone start a fire."

OOC: Just start next chapter saying we ate, then left(Or else we would all be weak and die)

(OOC: Thanks for not leaving me in the dust, guys! (sarcasm is very strong here.) Now I've got to say what my character had been doing. I'll just say that he went out looking for Kalimare. But first, I have to do what Celes asked me to.)

Tamakatari had been sleeping in the room that Cid had killed the leader in. No one else wanted to sleep in there, so it was the quietest spot. Tamakatari didn't really mind that someone had died in there. It was just a room, that no one else was using.

He had slept peacefully, until the morning. He felt someone shaking him hard, trying to get him to wake up. He opened his eyes slowly, and was fully ready punch who ever had woken him up right in the teeth, but then he was startled. He saw the princess, his angel. She was waking him up. <I must still be dreaming.> he thought to himself. He must have been dreaming about when the princess saved him from death on the side of the road. But then, he blinked a few times, and he realized that it was Cesia, only she had her hair down. She walked away, and he was left a little startled.

"Damn. I'm losing it. I'm seeing people as my angel. It must be true what they say about sleeping in the same room a man died, it screws with your head."

He saw that the group was running outside, and he felt the ground shake a little. He rushed out with them, and noticed that Kalimare wasn't there.

"Damn it. Of all the times to leave!" Tamakatari took a stick out of his cloak, and it changed into a large sword. He saw Kalimare's tracks in the dirt, and hunted him down. He finally found him some time later. He brought him to the source of the sound, but it seemed that the fight was over.

"Guess who I found." Then, he noticed the new person. He raised his sword and pointed it at him.

"Who's he."

"Uhh...a friend I hope...saved this lovely little angel here," Jude said motioning to Dawn who had returned with Cid, "And killed that big thing over there. Name's Jude...you must be the leader since your asking all the questions...right?" Jude said introducing himself and venturing a guess at the hierarchy of the group.

Lynx started laughing at the mention of Tama being the leader. "Him? The leader? Oh... That's great..."

Jude spun around wildy again, drawing strange looks.

"Ok...am I the only one who'se hearing voices? Cuz this one annoying thing keeps popping into my head..."

[Raiden]

"It's just the cat. And no, I'm not the leader, thankfully. If I was a leader of a group, they wouldn't be a bunch of dumb-asses. And I mostly work alone. That man over there is the leader." Tamakatari pointed at Cid.

Lynx corrected Tama. "He's our leader by title... Really, he has no idea what he's doing."

"The cat talks in my head...and the guy who couldn't attack his way outta a cloth sack is the leader..." Jude muttered. He honestly didn't know which was worse.

After returning to the others with Cid, Dawn was taking what she figured would be one of her last moments for a while to get a little more rest. She wasn't really paying much attention to the others, save for when she heard Jude talking.

"...saved this lovely little angel here,"

She quickly looked up, and found that he was motioning blatantly towards her. She quickly turned her back to him, appearing to be stuck up, but in reality was trying to keep him from seeing her blush.

What's with this guy? He keeps...

She glanced towards him, hoping he wasn't looking.

He keeps going on about me..

Finally they got on the topic of who was leader and she turned back around, pulling her hood down low over her face to continue feigning resting.

(OOC: alrighty then, now that we have the whole party, we can finally REALLY make it to the wizard's castle. I'll make a new thread shortly, so if you have anything you want to finish up saying here, then I suggest you hurry 'cause I'm gonna skip forward a little bit (not too much, but enough so that we're not walking and arguing the entire chapter))
