Perditions Tale, Chapter 2: "Day of Inquisition"

(OOC: yeah I know I suck at names for my chapters. So sue me)

The group sat solemnly in the small room that they had turned into their temperary headquarters. In a small room down the hall, the bandit leader was tied up, as ordered by Cid, and is waiting to be interrogated. Some were anxious to get moving again, but due to their "captain's" orders, they were planning to at least spend the night there. Especially since a few of them were still slightly wounded, even after being healed and some still needed to rest.

(OOC: Keep in mind that there may still be a few stray bandits around the town, so if your character goes outside, it's possable they could get attacked.)

[Raiden]

Tamakatari was pacing angrily across the room. He was limping a little, and his hand still hurt. He had refused to let Dawn heal him, and his injuries had been healing fast, but he wasn't going to be winning any marathons anytime soon.

"I don't see why we're staying here. Who gives a damn about why that thief trapped us! We're going to save the princess. If he's on the wizard's payroll, then that's enough of an excuse to trap us. Let's kill the guy, toss his body outside, and get going!"

[IHateMakingNames]

"It's late, we resting and healing. And the princess is fine, stop worrying." Lynx was lying on someone's lap(If no one takes that offer, the ground), trying to sleep.

[Raiden]

"Well excuse me, mouse-breath. Excuse me for wanting to get our mission over with."

Tamakatari was getting anxious. He was actually getting...scared. That was new for him. He was scared about something. He wanted the fear to go away. And that would only happen when the princess was safe.

[Forever Zero]

Vace was leaning against a wall, feeling better since his knife wound was healed, listening to Tamakatari rant. He waited for a pause, then put in, "It is more important then just if he is on the wizards payroll. If he is of any value to the wizard, he probably went to his fortress and can tell us some things about how to get there and what to expect when we are there. I would think that you would appreciate anything that would make the task of rescuing the princess faster and easier."

[Raiden]

"You know what would make it faster and easier? Getting there! Then, we storm in, and kill people. Not that frickin' hard! All this waiting around and 'talking' is pointless! Besides, if an evil black wizard was controlling you, how willing would you be to cross him over? Especially since he could kill you for it later."

[Forever Zero]

"Not if we kill the dark wizard and spare his thieveing neck. If there is anything bandits and thieves like more than money or taking advantage of the weak, it's continuing to live." Vace replied, then continued, "And how well would our rescue attempt go if we take one step in the front door, forget some magic doodad this bandit may have, and are all instantly incinerated? That would slow down our rescue attempt more than a little..."

[Raiden]

Tamakatari pulled a stick out of his cloak, and it changed into a sword. He then lunged, and the point stopped just before touching Vace's neck.

"You know. You're REALLY starting to annoy me."

[MasterZero]

Kalimare quietly leaned against a wall and rested himself. He was getting irritated by the constant whining that Tamakatari was doing. But he did see the reasoning behind it. Kalimare sighed.

"I think Tamakatari is right. After all, if you life was threatened in order for you to do something for someone, I think you would do it. But, then again, the bandid leader does have two ways to go. Both having probability of death sooner rather than later. He can tell us all we need to know and only have a limited risk of dying at the hands of the wizard, or he can refuse to talk and die immediately. I am getting hungry after all, and haven't tried bandit flesh in quite a while."

Kalimare chuckled as he continued resting against the wall.

[LilWhiteMage]

Dawn just leaned against the wall now, not even caring to try and intervene between the arguing this time. She had used nearly all her energy trying to heal everyone that needed it, perhaps overexerting herself just a bit. She'd just never had to do so much work in a short amount of time.

But she did at least manage to cure all those injured... well, with the exception of Tamakatari, though even as she had insisted despite being near the point of complete exhaustion, had refused her help. She was quite glad that Cid had told them they'd be staying the night. She most definately needed to time to rest before trying to go anywhere else.

Dawn shut her eyes and attempted to go to sleep, but with all the bickering back and forth, it was still hard for sleep to come to her. And it wasn't as though she could just go out and find a quieter place to rest, since they were still in this bandit town.

[Forever Zero]

Even with the sword right at his neck, Vace managed a smile. "Logic can tend to get really annoying too, that's why I looked into it instead continueing to smash my way through life. Sometimes a little forethought can lead to a lot less pain in the long run," Vace said, "And I doubt you would kill me, since you want all the help you can get to save the princess, and you have no idea how killing me now might effect that later."

[Squishy Cheeks]

"Oh he's going to die before the moon phases." Cid said. "The question is how quickly. Leave me alone with him. I'll call for you if I need him healed up after i'm through with him." Cid pulled a dagger. The dagger began to glow red.

[CelesJessa]

Cesia spoke up, "I think we should at least stay the night here. After all, not all of us are completely ready to keep moving for miles." She noted Tamakatari's slight limp, "It's not healthy to travel a lot when you're injured, it will just make it worse."

She looked at Cid, "And do you really have to kill him? I don't think he'd be as willing to give any information if you're going to kill him anyway..."

[GatoFiero]

Thid, sulked in a corner of the room, listening to the conversation between Tamakatari and Vace.

He winces whenever he hears the words magic or wizard. Doesn't this entire conversation assume that the thief and the wiz.*winces*.. have something to do with each other?

Of course, Thid didn't voice his thoughts; Tamakatari looked ready to bite someone’s head off.

Mrr... -_- I hate thunderstorms... friggin booting me off in teh middle of a post.



"All I want is a little rest..." Dawn murmured, though it probably wouldn't be heard by any of the others, well, with the exception of Lynx and Kalimare.

Her eyes opened and rested on Cid as he started to get up and head towards the leader of the thieves with his knife. "If you actually want him alive for questioning, don't hurt him much... It was hard enough the first time around having to heal all of you and him as well. I'm not used to having to work this hard." She said softly, then shut her eyes again and let out a quiet sigh.

Taim was sitting against the wall, the cat on his lap. He didn't really care that the cat had decided to claim him as his seat. He'd been caught making his escape by Cid as the others came to get their wounded....wrong place, wrong time.

He was listening to the others bicker and mentally shaking his head.

Absently mindedly rubbing behind the bobcat's ears, he said quietly to himself "they're like a bunch of lemmings..."

OOC: and now, with Taim's luck, lynx is going to bite him.

[Squishy Cheeks]

"well i'm going to give him a choice. He can tell me what I want to know and he'll die painlessly, or he can not tell me what I want, and suffer painfully.

[IHateMakingNames]

Lynx bite Taim's fingers, hard. "Don't pet me. I'm only here so you can't try to run away again."

[gh0st]

Taim pulled his hand away. "Ouch. Damn cat." He continued his musing, talking now to the cat "but aren't they like lemmings? Come, let us all throw ourselves into as many dangerous situations as possible without prior planning! Next thing i know, it'll be off a cliff."

[Squishy Cheeks]

"So, unless you want to watch me work, I'd recommend you leaving."

[IHateMakingNames]

"Yes, go torture a random theif who may or may not have any connections with a random wizard, good idea."

[Squishy Cheeks]

"Gee it must be nice to be a cat. To sit and judge all us lowly mortals, with your superior attitude. I don't tell you how to lick your crotch, don't tell me how to do my job."

[IHateMakingNames]

"Actually, I do."

OOC: But got to go do something...

[gh0st]

"Not to be a bother or anything, but if you two [OOC:(lynx and Cid)] are going to attempt to kill each other now, wanna wait until the cat is off my lap? Please? There are certain essential things right near my lap that I'd like to keep."

[LilWhiteMage]

"I'm sick of this." Dawn was suddenly standing, but not very well. "All I ask is for a little while to rest, and all any of you have to do is just sit there and bicker like... like a bunch of two year olds!" Somehow finding the strength, she stormed to the door and opened it. "Don't come and get me until you decide to stop all of this nonsense!" And with that she went outside and slammed the door behind herself.

[Darth SS]

Ark whistled as she stormed out. "Yah. I'll go check on her." He swiftly got up, making sure to pick his sword up at the same time and walked out.

As son as he caught up, he added, "You know, it's not exactly ingenius to go outside when it's getting cold, you're tired, and there's still quite possibly bandits about."

[Squishy Cheeks]

"Fine." Cid said. He grabbed the bound thief. "Hopefully I'll be back soon." He took the thief into another room of the storeroom and bolted the door shut. Soon after he left loud screams of pain emitted from the room.

[CelesJessa]

Cesia winced at the sounds of the screams emitting from the room, getting a sick feeling to her stomach. "Does he have to go about it this way? Isn't there another way to get answers?" She muttered putting her head in her hands, trying to ignore the screams.

[LilWhiteMage]

"I don't care..." She stopped, just plopping down near a building opposite of the one everyone else was in. "It's better to sit out here in the cold with the possibility of death coming anyway than to sit in there and listen to them just keep going on and on."

Dawn curled up, wrapping her robes closer as she could already feel the cold starting to get to her. "All I want is a chance to get some actual rest." From outside, she could hear the man screaming. "And why does Cid insist on doing that? The man tried to kill us, but he shouldn't just keep torturing him and then expecting me to heal him so that he can do it over and over again. That's NOT why I came."

[Darth SS]

Ark took off his coat and gave it to her. Being a ranger, he was used to the cold.

"Simple. Just say no. You don't have to be the bitch of some pompous army grunt who thinks that since he's had dumb-minded soldiers giving it to him up his ass all his life he can tell you what to do, when to do it, and without a why."

Ark crossed his arms, "I'm sure as hell not going to. Been a ranger almost all my life, and in that life orders get you killed."
OOC: Did I mentions Ark ain't gonna' get along with Cid?

Taim sat against the wall, pinned by the cat. The screams emanating from the next room were stirring unpleasant memories for him, ones that were better left undisturbed. This wasn't /that/ different from the castle dungeons...

He stood up suddenly, shoving the cat off his lap unceremoniously. "I'm going outside for fresh air. If Cid asks where i am, tell him i said he can shove it."

He wandered outside and plopped himself down beside the healer.

[Forever Zero]

OOC: I'm going to assume Tam and Vace have temporarily solved their differences, either way I'm going to post like the confrontation is over.

Vace sat back down after having stood so long, disturbed by the screams coming from the back room with Cid and teh Bandit. "It would be so much easier if he would just reason with him instead of torturing him. I don't see this working, and I only see it causing trouble later on..." Vace muttered, flinching at each scream and yell.

[Squishy Cheeks]

The screaming paused for a few minutes. Then started again. Minutes passed then the screams stopped.

[Darth SS]

Ark looked at the building. "Is anyone else slightly disturbed that the screaming stopped, and Cid has yet to come out?"

[gh0st]

"Um. I think i'd rather not ponder that. thanks."

[LilWhiteMage]

Dawn wrapped up in the ranger's coat as well now. "I could always say no to Cid, but I can't refuse to help someone who is hurt, good or bad. I just hate having to waste my energy to help someone and for him to be a jerk and nearly kill him again."

She stared down at the ground. "I don't know why I even bothered coming. Even though I didn't really know him before now, I knew Cid was a huge jerk. I guess I thought he could change or something."

Her eyes shifted upwards as another came out and sat beside her.. Taim. Without even questioning his reason for coming out here, she sighed and shut her eyes. Though it was cold out, the warmth from her robes and the ranger's coat was enough to keep her comfortable. "He's more than likely killed the poor man..." she replied quietly.

[CelesJessa]

Cesia focused on the ground, unsuccessfully ignoring the screaming, "I think I'm gonna be sick..." She had never thought of anyone being that violent to anyone, even if they had tried to kill them earlier. Then the screaming stopped, "Maybe... maybe he's done torturing him..." <even if he is done, this is probably going to provide for some nightmares tonight...> She consitered going outside with the others... maybe at least if the screaming started up again, she wouldn't be able to hear it as well outside.

[Squishy Cheeks]

Cid came out with a stone face, but his eye's were haunted. He was wiping blood off his sword. A headless corpse in the room he was coming from. "Rest up I got some necessary info out of the criminal." He saw the anger in the other's faces. "I do what I have to. I don't expect any of you to understand, but don't think I enjoy the things I do."

[Darth SS]

Ark plopped down beside her. "Dawn, this is probably going to be the harshest thing anyone is ever going to say to you."

He gulped, and said, "There's a point where you can't care anymore. Every single person I killed today, I would want them to still be alive. But the fact is, they would've quite gladly killed me. Eventually, you've got to realize that it's them or you. Kill them so they can't kill anymore, or die because you want them to live."

Then he remembered. "Hey Taim, you got a whetstone?" He was completely ignoring Cid.

[gh0st]

"Um. Yeah. Give me a sec." Taim searched through his pockets, eventually coming up with a well used whetstone. "Here ya go. It's more knife than sword sized, though."

[Darth SS]

"Thanks." He flipped his dagger out extremely quickly, and set about sharpening it again.

[CelesJessa]

Cesia stood up, and started pacing, trying to get her mind off of what horrible things Cid must have done to the man, "Well I hope with what that man had to go through you got some valuable information... and we should bury him at least instead of just leaving him there in the room..."

[LilWhiteMage]

"I understand..." She said lowly. "It's just I feel it wrong to hurt someone when they really pose no threat to us anymore." She trailed off, feeling the drowziness coming again, especially since there was no more screaming.

She began to doze off finally, ignoring Cid's words from inside as she unconciously leaned over onto Taim.

[Squishy Cheeks]

"He knew of a secret entrance to the wizard's castle. Now I know of it. I need a moment though."

[Darth SS]

Ark sheathed his dagger, and drew his sword to start sharpening it. He glanced at Dawn and then at Taim, "Want some help?"

[gh0st]

Taim sighed. Now the healer had fallen asleep on his shoulder. Oh well. Unlike the cat, at least she probably wouldn't bite him.

"Naw. she must be exhausted. She doesn't even know me. She probly needs the rest, though."

[Squishy Cheeks]

Cid came outside and leaned against the wall. Then fell on his ass and put his head in his hands.

[Darth SS]

"True. She did heal a lot." He flipped his sword in mid air and started on the other side.

"So, where you from?"

[gh0st]

"Where do you think I'm from?" Taim retorted quietly, after glancing at the guard captain.

[Darth SS]

"Ranger. Not in civilization. No know big names."

[gh0st]

"Yeah?" Taim raised a sardonic eyebrow at the Ranger. "Well, me thief. No telling annoying ranger."

[CelesJessa]

Cesia slowly wandered outside, not wanting to be in the same building as a decapitated corpse. She leaned against the side of the building with the others who had retreated outside. She consitered asking Cid some more questions, but seeing him with his head in his hands made her decide to leave him alone for the time being, <Well. At least it looks like he didn't enjoy what he had to do... He has been a knight for a long time... he would probably know what's more necissary than I would...> She thought, still feeling uneasy about the bandit captain they had killed.

[Forever Zero]

When he had first learned what had happened to the bandit, Vace had immediatly went outside, disgusted at what Cid had done. <That's, just horrible. He was scum, but no one deserves to die like that, that's just sadistic.> Vace thought, taking a look at Cid, who wasn't dealing with his deed well. He just couldn't look at him the same, not after doing something so horrible, no matter what the need. Vace wandered off, deep in thought over whether to even stay with this group.

OOC: So he killed the bandit?

Yep. :/ Most of us just upped and left the place when he was doing it.. *points to large group huddled outside*

Lynx walked outside, and climbed to the top of a roof, above of Cid. He sat down on the roof, and looked down at Cid. "So, killed the bandit it seems... All for poitnless info. So, did you kill him after he told you or something?"

[Darth SS]

Ark finished sharpening his sword. He stood, sheathed it, and shook the sheath to get some excess grass and dust off.

"I guess I'll be packin' it in. Night all." He turned back towards the building, and start walking. It occurred to him he'd left his coat behind, but he really didn't care.

[MasterZero]

Kalimare was already outside, not having wanted to bother with Cid's decision, and because he needed some fresh air. He squatted on an upper wall in his lycan form, looking up at the sky. He was pretty close to Lynx, and hopefully his size and appearance wasn't disturbing the feline.

OOC: I thought you'ld be eating the guy...

Finally Dawn was able to get some rest, or rather, she had pretty much passed out from exhaustion on Taim's shoulder. But most likely when she woke and heard the news of what exactly had happened to the thieves' leader, she wouldn't take it so well.

But that didn't matter now... just this wonderful peaceful sleep...

OOC: Wrong, yet likely for how he represents his character.

Vace had wondered deeper into the town, and walked into what had once been a bar. <Just the thing I need to straighten my thoughts...> Vace thought ironically, but threw aside the thoughts and searched until he found an unopened bottle, then went onto roof to drink and think.

Taim sighed softly. He didn't relish the idea of spending the night outside. But from what he could tell, the healer was fast asleep, and he certainly didn't have the heart to wake her.

He didn't mind the cold, having spent more than his share of night out on the street. But he didn't want to fall asleep out here. Whoever had said it was right, there could still be bandits hanging around. However, Cid and the cat looked like they weren't going to be moving for a while......

Taim let his head rest against the wall behind him, and slid into a light sleep, confident that he would hear anyone (or thing) coming up on them with ample time to react.

OOC: what? you want a battle? I was hoping JAD would be on by now and we'd quickly get to spend the night here and then get on our way to the wizard's place... But I guess I could think of something to attack us if people want it...)

OOC: No... No quick night... Must make Jad cry...

[Raiden]

Tamakatari had been leaning against the wall the entire time, and watched as everyone else left. He looked out at them as they huddled close to each other. And he huffed. Pathetic. Just pathetic. They get so worked up over one man dying. Tamakatari had left 16 dead men just lying in the forest. Good thing he never told them that, or else they might have done a mass funeral. Damn bleedin’ hearts. Tamakatari shifted his eyes over to the decapitated body. He slowly walked over, and looked at it with a frown.

“What’s wrong? Didn’t the guard treat you well? It’s nothing to lose your head over. Pun intended.”

Tamakatari leaned over and picked up the decapitated head, and looked into it’s eyes.

“We have something in common. We’re alone. In life, your group abandoned you. In death, they left you alone in a room. But hey, it ain’t too bad. Being alone can be a good thing.”

Tamakatari dropped the head to the dust of the floor.

“If you were alone, the guy wouldn’t have killed you. When you’re alone, no one can betray you. Remember that.”

Tamakatari left the room, and closed the door.

OOC: You realize they also killed a bunch of people during the ambush, right?

[Raiden]

(OOC: Yep. Which makes me wonder why everyone is so down, when they just killed a bunch of people?)

OOC: Well, those kills were in combat. This one was a tied up man, who was just tortured, then got his head cut off after giving Cid the info. If you want, Tama can help Lynx make Cid cry.

OOC: if you're gonna make him cry, do it quietly. people are trying to sleep over here.

[Raiden]

(OOC: I'll help make him cry. I'll start it off.)

Tamakatari walked out and joined the others. He looked at Cid, who still had his head in his hands.

"People change a lot from a loyal page to the king, don't they, Lynx."

[IHateMakingNames]

"Oh, most defiently." Lynx sat up. "Give a man a title, he does what he wants."

OOC: Aw... Look, were bonding...

[Raiden]

(OOC: Isn't that cute?)

Tamakatari took out his whittling stick, and started to whittle at it with his knife.

"Well, you can't really blame him. The Royal Captain of the Guard makes you a powerful man. I mean, it's not like ANYBODY could torture and kill a tied-up man. No, that takes a man of high calibur."

[Darth SS]

"Don't forget that, they can only do it if they're told, 'You're all under my command'" called a voice from behind the building. After an odd pause, Ark yelled out, "Sorry."

[IHateMakingNames]

OOC: Aw... Raiden took the best part...

"And only the captain of the gaurd could think of actually killing the prisoner. Of course, with his genuis, he must have realized there would be no use to keep the bandit prisoner. Even his great idea of torturing a bandit, one who loves money, to get info. Under the Kingdom's rule at that."

[Raiden]

"A man can do a lot when he has the kingdom backing him up. He could probably kill everyone in this town, and when people ask, he could say 'I did it in the service of my king'. And then they'd award him a medal! He could put it in his medal case! Next to the ones he got for taking babies away from mothers, and stealing cows from poor people. I bet they're really shiny."

[CelesJessa]

Cesia stood there, silently listening to the others talk about Cid, no doubt trying to make him feel worse than he seemed to feel already. He sat there, with his head in his hands... She didn't know if he was ignoring them, or taking everything they said in... maybe before long he would just snap and lose his temper with Tamakatari and the others... <I hope that doesn't happen...>

Taim's eyes opened at the mention of the word "shiny". But he drifted back to sleep as he realized there was no chance for profit.

[IHateMakingNames]

"And knowing how Kingdom's work, usually people don't even have to work to get their titles. Kings come from son's, and usually the gaurds come from the sons of the previous Royal Gaurd. But not Cid here, I bet he worked hard to get where he is today." Lynx said the last part with a sarcastic tone.

[Raiden]

(OOC: Jadguy is going to be so pissed at us when he gets on.)

Tamakatari finished whittling his stick.

"Now, what REALLY gets me, is that we could have avoided all of this, if people had just listened to me. This is the second time I made a suggestion, the first was when I say we should just leave that old guy, and when I wanted to leave now, but no, you guys wanted to 'interrogate' the thief. Now, if we had listened to me these last few times, and done things my way, we wouldn't have been trapped, and Cid wouldn't have to be sitting here taking shit from lowly pheasants as ourselves."

[Darth SS]

OOC: Can't we let CJ do something, you know, plot advancing now?

[IHateMakingNames]

OOC: I remember the first one, but when did he suggest something after we followed the trap guy?
Nothings stopping her from doing that...

[Raiden]

(OOC: I suggested that we just continue heading towards the castle, and leave the thief there.)

[IHateMakingNames]

OOC: Oh...

"Well, no, give the guy a little credit. He did get a small piece of information, that could have been scouted out by us, out of the guy before slaughtering him. Sure, he could have just payed him, him being a theif and all, but he decided giving him unhealable, burning cuts was better. Not that it matters, since he is dead and all."

[Darth SS]

OOC: You do know how disturbing it is about how well you guys do that, right?

[Raiden]

(OOC: I gotta get off for the night. Don't go TOO far without me. And SS, IHMN and I fight all the time, but when we get along, we work pretty well together.)

"Well, I'm sure he knows what he's doing. I mean, he is the leader. He's always right. He can do no wrong."

OOC: To not get left behind, you have to get on earlier then 7, but after 3(7-9 seem to be the peak hours)

SS, I'll take that as a compliment.

(OOC: *ahem* alright I guess we can advance the plot at the moment... even though it would be nice if Jad was on when we did it, since he was the one who got the info from the prisoner. Plus we'll probably just be traveling unless I can quickly think of something interesting quickly. I don't think we're gonna make any more stops until the wizard's place, just FYI, so no side quests at the moment to keep us entertained. ^^ It's almost 11 for me now, which means I'll have to go before long, so should we just leave it with people picking on Cid for right now, and then I can think of what exactly will happen while we travel while I'm at school, or should I try and advance it right now?)

EDIT OOC: And yes. It is scary when Raiden and IHMN work together for once. ^^;;

"Enough rest." Cid said standing. He went back inside to collect his lance and helm. "It's time to go. unless you don't want to get this mission over sooner." Cid put his helmet on and walked toward his horse.

[Raiden]

(OOC: Jad is making something right now. Just wait for him.)

OOC: Where did the horse come from?

Maybe one of the thieves had one?

He's not gonna have a happy healer if he forces her to wake right now >_>;; Oh well...

(OOC: maybe they can just finish spending the night at the run-down town untill tomorrow, then I can make a new thread. (keepin' things organized) )

"I would advise we rest for the night. Tama still has to heal, and our healer is still resting. And I think we all could use a good nights sleep after today's events..."

[Squishy Cheeks]

"Oh i'm touched that you'd rather rest and spend time in my company. " Cid said sarcastically. "You women can stay the night, I'll go and do my duty."

[IHateMakingNames]

"Eh, go get yourself killed. You might meet that bandit you just killed down in hell, you can hang out."

[Squishy Cheeks]

"I'll be sure to greet you personally when you come to join me."

Cesia muttered at Cid's earlier statement, feeling slightly irritated at everything going on; she wasn't sure if she was irritated at everyone arguing, or all the bloodshed, or tiredness... but she finally spoke up "Cid, if we leave now, that would be disasterous. Our healer isn't completely rested yet, some of our fighters are still recovering, we barely escaped death a few times today. We haven't slept under a real roof for who knows how long. I may not be familiar with military tactics, but if we leave now, moral will be low... which is bad for future battles." Cesia blinked a few times after her small rant, realizing she probably spoke out of line for a simple soldier under the knight captain's order. <Oh well, there's nothing I can really do now.> She tried to redeem herself, "Let's at least stay the night for Dawn. She worked really hard today healing everyone and she is extremely tired. Please Cid?" She gave him a pleading look.

(OOC: and with that. I'm going to bed too. I'm tired. *yawn* I swear everyone. Everything will get going tomorrow and I'll start the next chapter. ^^ Tomorrow, we head for Wizard Man's lair (I always forget his name. good thing I wrote it down))

Vase had been closer than he thought, and had heard the conversations with the others. <Hmph, I'll get up and follow when I'm good and ready, and not a second sooner> He thought to himself, and went back into the building to find someplace comfortable to rest for the night.

OOC: He isn't there, I said a while back he walked away and found an abandoned building. On page 7, I said that Vace had left in disgust, and had found an abandoned bar. That is where Vace is right now.
