OOC: Ok,I started the new thread for everybody.
Monk looked at the stranger, "Boss? Oh... you must mean Jade..." He sat up and grabbed his head, as several flashbacks hit him at once. He had a gun in his hand, a wound on Jade, then he opened his eyes and he was back in the hospital. He was breathing deeply and looking around, "What happened!? Where am I!?"
Seeing his friend in the threashhold of the doorway, he instantly calm down. "Wolf... What's... happening to me?" He shook violently in the bed, the nervousness comming back. "What happened? Why am I here?"

"No, I was looking for Andy."
Daren saw the man's agitation, and he reached inside his hip pouch for a syringe and an ampoule of Diazepam. Though he was prepared to give it, he decided to wait and see first.
"Sir? Sir, are you all right?"

Wolf's mind spun Other Andy? What the fuck?. Then he noticed his friend was tweaking out, so he decided to do something. I won't just stand here and be ingored. He grabbed the syringe from the stranger.
"Easy buddy, you might not want to dope him up just yet. I have no clue who you are, but I'll trust you for now."
Wolf turned towards Monk who was still shaking.
"I guess you didn't recieve my message, so I'll tell you what happened anyway. When we were in the bunker, something took over you, and you regressed back to you ways when you were under mind control. I managed to stop you, but not before you caused some damage. You shot Jade, but don't worry, she'll live, as will you. What happened is over and done with, but I'd steer clear of Andy for a while, he's ripshit over the mission. He was mad that I saved you and Jade from capture at the risk of all three of our lives. Now, don't blame yourslef for what happened back there, it wasn't your fault. I think what happened is the "Wall-of-Zen" you constructed around youself began to break down after our first mission, after you resorted to gunslinging. Following this, you enetered the bunker, full of crippling self-doubt, and that's when Mastermind took you over. The fact is, you don't have to worry about getting any of us killed. I've stopped you from doing more damage twice, and I can do it again, but If you keep your spirits and confidence up, I won't have to. See, Mastermind preys on the weak and frightened, at least, that's my theory. That's why I'm always optimistic, even when the autocannon threatened to rip me in half, but that's another story entirely."
seeing Monk start to calm down. Wolf turned back to the stranger.
"Now, allow me to introduce myself. I am Wolf. I guess you could call me the second-in-command of the Cyber-side of the force here. I have three questions for you: who are you? what's your story? and who is this other Andy you keep asking about?"
Dante

Daren capped the hypodermic, then replaced it and the ampoule of Diazepam in his medical pouch. He looked at Monk, who was now breathing steadily, then back to Wolf.
"Name's Daren. I'm a medical corpsman, assigned to this unit. Ordinarily, they'd have introduced me to all of you guys. However, with the war on Mastermind escalating, there was precious little time for that. Hell, they gave me a piece of paper with Andy's name and photograph on it, then gave me the wrong location. You would not believe what I had to go through to find this place..."
"As for your second question... It wasn't so much an assignation as a transfer. I used to operate with SEAL Six, at least until my squad got killed trying to assault one of Mastermind's bases. A lot of good men died out there..."
Daren's voice trailed off and he looked away. He continued speaking with his back towards Wolf.
"I didn't have a family. The Team was my life. And now... they're dead. All because of that Mastermind."
Wolf looked down, and he saw Daren ball his hands into fists, trembling with barely controlled rage. When the latter spoke again, he did so in a much softer, silkier voice, a velvet glove pulled over an iron fist of vengeance.
"And that's why... that's why I asked for - no, why I demanded a transfer to this unit. Because I believe that you are the ones who are going to pull the plug on Mastermind. And when you do... I want to see it squirm as the lights go out."
He turned around, eyes shining in the reflected light of the ward, the sheer determination evident in his expression.
"I don't care that I have little to no experience fighting in the cyber world. I don't care that I'll be going up against suicidal odds. I don't care if I die before this whole thing is through."
He exhaled like he was sighing, and the tension seemed to leave him.
"Because that's what they would have done if they were me, standing here, right now. And as for the other Andy... I don't know anything about him. I was told to find this Andy" - here he showed the photograph of Andy to Wolf - " and make contact with him."

OOC: Blarg! My post wouldn't go through. Zephie, can you move your bio from here to the sign up page? thankies
Jade excused herself from Andy's office and told the new guy that she would speak to him later. She walkd down the grey halls to Monk's room. <God, why is everything so grey?> Seeing the door open she saw Wolf, Monk and some other person in the room. "Um, is this a bad time? I just wanted to see how Monk is doing."
Monk watched as the leader walked into the room. She looked to be okay, but the thought of him pointing a gun at her, pulling the trigger no boubt, he couldn't fathom.
And then there was the other. He was just like the rest, vengeful of matermind, wanting to see him die. Monk lowered his head. He was calm now, yes, but he made a decision. One he knew no one would like. He tried to get up, but he was still weak, wether it be from the whole mind control, or the injury, he didn't know, but he couldn't move. "No... it's okay... please come in." He looked towards the others. "Um... I need to talk to Jade... personally. Wolf, show out new friend to Andy, I'll catch up," he smiled.

Wolf looked at the photo, sure enough, it was the Andy he knew, but he still couldn't shake that "other Andy" thing out of his head I probably just misheard him, that's all, Wolf thought. "All right, Daren, follow me."
Wolf left the hospital room, with Daren trailing close behind.
As Wolf led Daren towards Andy's office Wolf thought about Daren's reason for being here. To lose a whole team...that's harsh. I never had that happen to me. I've had people taken over, but I managed to free most of them. But I never dealt with wholesale destruction of my team...except for once...and that still haunts me...
Finally they reached Andy's office "Here it is." Wolf said as he knocked on the door, and waited until he was buzzed in.
Wolf and Daren entered and Wolf noticed Andy behind the desk. "Sorry if I'm interrupting anything, but here's another new recruit. His name's Daren." Wolf said.

Glam had left the hospital room and was now looking for a meeting room for the next mission. <This is just great, I'm probably going to have to ask for directions and look like a fool...> He thought, when he noticed two people walking down the hall. One looked like Wolf from earlier, so he followed them, hoping they were going to the meeting room. He noticed them go into a room, so Glam walked up after them and knocked on the door.
"Sheesh. All these new recruits!" Andy sighed and extended his hand to the newcomer. "Yo, im Andy. Pleased." Andy temporarily forgot Gabe.
"Well, introductions come later. Tell me why i should let you in. Youve got 3 minutes."
Monk watched as the others left the room. After the door had closed he took a deep breath and closed his eye, lowering his head. "Jade... I am so sorry for what I did. I wasn't myself back there. Heck... I still have no idea what I did back there. I wish I did, but I just can't remember..." A tear started to form in his eye. "Jade, this is a hard decision for me, but it's one that I'm sure is the wisest choice." He looked up into her eyes, "Jade... That new recruit's story really moved me to make this decision. He lost all of his comrades becuase of Mastermind. I don't want the same thing to happen to this group. You have done much to stop him. I don't want to hinder that, or more like... stop it completly." He took one last breath.
"Jade... I want out."

(( So lemme try an' get this straight...
Everyone's in a hospital, or an office of some sort? And the guy that's responsible for letting people into the group is there? And the party just got through some mission where Monk was possessed and shot Jade, and Wolf is his mentor, or protector of some sort?
Right or no? o.o; ))

Daren took Andy's hand and shook it.
"I suppose your question deserves to be answered. Very well. You need a medic. I'm a medic. You need some one with special forces background. I'm a Navy SEAL, plus I've cross-trained with a hell of a lot of other special forces as well. You need someone who's dedicated to the mission. I'll stick with you till I die or Mastermind bites the dust. Does that answer your question?"

A Screen clicks on in the building. Coyote had taken the appearance of a well manicured man. "Coyote here. I have the dooms day device, and to prove I'm not bluffing...." All of a sudden half the computers in the room in a checkerboard pattern became smoking wrecks. "You have 72 hours to bring me my son. Or I do that to all of cyberspace."
(andy, thats me, is a very top army bloke, he's aussie, and strictly realworld. no cyberheads allowed. he serves with jades team...because...well, he just does.)
Andy looked at the plug in the medic's neck. "Well, i'd love to let you into MY team, but, you're a cyber junkie. And dont start about the port in his neck, either." Andy waved at Gabe, "Cause his is apparently ornamental. If he's lying, then...well...you dont lie to me. But i cant let you in, sorry. Not into my unit. Simply because you visit the cyber world. Yep. I'm Biased."
Andy laughed. "But, you could try with Jade. Their team is much different to mine. For instance, my personell dont go crazy during an op, we get the job done, and we dont let our feelings get in the way. But the thing is, we're strictly real-world. Sorry, chummer. It's up to Jade on this one. I've already let Gabe here in, i cant do another."

Wolf looked at the demonstation...and shook his head. A pointless gesture. We already knew it could destroy cyberspace, why bother putting on a show? Unless he somehow had no clue we figured him out for once.
Wolf stared at the screen, clapping slowly and sarcastically. "Impressive display, Coyote, but pointless. We already knew what you are planning to do, and what you wanted. I think you can figure that out on your own. You'll get your son. Don't worry. And I hope the comps weren't expensive."
Wolf grinned as he exited the room. "Andy, I leave you to sort out the details of this tangled web. I have a mission to prep for.
Wolf then glared at Andy as he remembered that jab towards the cyber force.
"And...I strictly remember still having my sanity. After all. I don't recall losing my temper on the person who saved two soldiers from certain capture and death or enslavement, figure that out, 'esteemed leader'"
Wolf exited while he let that sink in. What an ass! I can't understand him. Perhaps he fears the cyber world because of its ability to change. Maybe he feels that a world he cannot control is not a world he wants a part of.

OOC: I'm now going to establish the agents
BIC: Somewhere in cyberspace, in a nondescript building, a man dressed in a black suit and wearing dark sunglasses enters a room. There he is confronted by 3 similarly dressed men. The only thing setting them apart is their height, weight, and hair, and yet they still all look similar. Also in the room is a computer screen, with a garbled series of alphanumeric characters scolling up and down the screen
"The plan did not work as we had hoped" said Agent Thompson
"Do you think he figured us out already?" Agent Jackson asked
"Doubtful. Mr. MacKenzie is not capable of figuring out our identites from one phone call, unless you made a mistake" Replied Agent Smith
The computer spoke. "You know that I programmed you so that you cannot make mistakes, Smith. And You should not underestimate Jason MacKenzie, he is an intelligent and very powerful soldier."
"My mistake...Mastermind."
"So, what course will we take?" Agent Johnson Asked
"I want MacKenzie interrogated, peacefully. Maybe he can give up the anomaly if we convince him that his friend is too much of a threat."
"I will do the interrogation, with your permission."
"See to it, Smith, I am counting on you"
The screen blanked out.

OOC: A great intro Wolf!
BIC: "I'm sorry Monk, but I can't let you go just yet. We need you for one more mission, then you're free to go. I've been thinking about this while I was unconscious and figured something out. You were once Mastermind's slave, so you know lots of inside information, maybe even his location. However it seems like you can't remember any of it. Since I'd rather not have to bore a hole in your skull to extract it, I've come up with a plan. But I need you to help me. This will benefit you as well, because you'll be able to recover all of the memories that you lost due to Mastermind, and I believe that was one of your reasons for joining the team. So, I'm going to call a meeting now and tell the team the plan. You can come if you want, but you don't have to, it's entirely up to you." Jade rose and began walking out of the room. Before she left she turned to him with a smile. "By the way, don't worry about the bunker. I know that it wasn't you back there, and it's not the first time I've been shot." She walked out still grinning. <He'll come>. "Jade to all team members and recruits. Please meet me in the conference room in ten minutes, I have a new mission and an interesting turn of events to relay to you."
OOC: MC discussed this idea and we thought it would be interesting. This also ties in Batman, because he's in the conference room already.

Andy smiled at Wolf as he walked away. "You were always warped, mate."
The soldier turned to Gabe. "Yeah, conference room...uh...which one?" Andy tugged at his ear in thought. "Ohhh, the CONFERENCE room. Ok, follow me." Andy led the way through the maze and network of corridors and doorways until he and Gabe came to a vast room, covered in maps and mission outlines.
Andy turned around slowly to look at Gabe. "You do realise that it's most likely going to be a cyberspace mission, right?"Andy raised an eyebrow.

"Hello." He spun around in his large leather chair, wine glass in one hand, bottle of wine in the other, looking all spiffy in his black suit. "It's nice to finally meet you."
Monk pondered what Jade had just suggested. My past? My inner thoughts? Will I finally find my answers that I've been looking for? Will I finally be able... to remember? He closed his eyes and shook his head, No... this is stupid! I'll turn back! I'll hurt the team. I'll crush all their dreams! I can't go. He opened his eyes again. But this has been what I always wanted. Answers. My past. But if I turn... I'll just end up killing them all. I was able to fight it last time, but this is my head, who knows what might be lurking in there. Maybe... He sat up, ...my other half.
No! I can't put them through that! He fell to the bed again and grabbed his head. It hurts! It hurts so much! Why is it doing it? No! It senses something! It knows its in trouble! Ah... "AHH!!"
He sat up once again, panting. He looked around. He was still in the hospital room. He felt like he had slept a week, when it was really only a few seconds. His mind and body were both rejuvinated. The only one that can defeat me... is me. I have to go... He slid slowly off the bed and to the floor, trying to once again get used to walking. Jade... why do you want to help me so?
After walking around the room, pacing that little bit he finally made his way to the conference room, slowly, still asking himself that same question, Why?

Wolf checked his weapons and equipment a last look over, holstered his .45 and M16, and sheathed his Katana. He then went to the conference room. Seated there was a businessman he didn't recognize. The businessman greeted him.
"Uh...hello." Wolf answered. "And you might be?"
While waiting for his answer, Wolf looked around the room. Jade had already arrived, and Monk had just wearily walked into the door Hang in there buddy. You beat this thing once, you can do it again. Wolf thought. He then saw Andy, Gabe, and Dante enter the room as well.

Andy looked over at Gabe. "The dishes? Hmmm."
Andy walked through the doorway to see a businessman he'd never seen before. "Right. Hmm. Black Armani...Wine...Yep. Wanker."

OOC: Sorry Necro-Slayer, but you've been reported to the mods. I don't accept crap like this in my rps.
BIC: A small smile crept over Jade's face, if only for a second. Someone giving Andy crap was one of the better part sof her day. After all, she had to put up with his "cyber-junky" abuse almost hourly. Jade looked around the room "is everyone here? Good, I'll get right to this. Our next mission is divided into two parts. The first is purely cyber space. A group consisting of myself, Wolf, Monk, Daren and Glam will head into cyber space to retrieve a copy of Monk's brainwaves. Whenever you are jacked in, your brainwaves are stored in some central location so that your position can be monitored in case something goes wrong. Monk has a bunch of Mastermind information in his head, but can't access or remember it. So my team will go to the location and get a copy of the brainwaves and decrypt them. This will not be easy, because the location has been overrun with Mastermind troops and is heavily guarded. They haven't been able to decrypt any of our brainwaves yet, but that could change, so this needs to be quick. We have to get the brainwaves and wipe them out. However, and I can't stress this enough, we cannot destroy the building under any circumstances or all of the information stored there will be lost. I'll have special parameters for various people, but I'll get to that when I'm with my team privately. Now, the next part is going to be basically information gathering and recon. The Coyote copy that my search program has captured gave us the location of the Coyote mansion where the supposed "Doomsday device" is being held. However, the location is in the form of riddles and clues. There is one location given to us, but going there will get you a clue to another location, and so on, until you get to the mansion. Andy, you and your team along with Gabe and Mr. Rodgers here will work on finding out the location of the mansion, and then scouting it out. Mr. Rodgers is a great detective with a remarkable mind, so he is an asset to you. Once you find a location, send one of your men there to get the next clue. Once you get to the mansion do not engage the Coyotes, just wait there and contact us. We have no idea what they're up to and what this device can do, and I'd rather have the whole team there. Any questions?"
Monk looked at the people that he thought would be on the mission, but the new people he couldn't pick out. He just sighed and looked at his feet, still thinking about the mission.
We cannot destroy the building under any circumstances... the line just kept cycling through his head, we cannot destroy the building under any circumstances... He winced as it was repeated. ...all of the information stored there will be lost.
And I will lose any chance of finding out my past for good. Knowing that, he walked out of the room, intent to getting back to his quarters, and meditating on the fact.
We cannot destroy the building under any circumstances... or I will lose any chance of finding out my past... for good.
Andy sighed, then gave the signal. The 3 guards hoisted the newcomer up.
"I dont take shit from anyone, mate. You need to learn that. The president is below me. I know such things that could rip the world asunder. Tear the nations and divide the powers of the system." Andy paused for effect, "You have cash. Big deal. Your money buys nothing if the men follow another. Too many things i know can flounder your arguments. I'm getting ahead of myself."
Andy stopped, to observe odd looks from all present. Andy sheepishly smiled, revealing the teeth never really bared in goodwill.
"Anyway, whatever. Let him go." The guards dropped the man into his seat.

"Don't act so high and mighty,if it wasn't for my family you'd be peddling hamburgers somewhere."
Andy laughed. "Ok, bigshot, we can continue this discussion later. Shall we go to work?"
Andy handed Gabe a little tag, nonchalant and white. It was unadorned save for a little bit of circutry. "That," Andy whispered quietly, "Gets you into the office."
Andy walked off, leaving the group to their speculations. He was met by a few members of his own team.
"Hey Drew, whats the go?" asked Warren.
"Some recon. Find the Coyote Mansion."
"I fucking hate recon."
"I dunno, mate. It should be ok, but we have that suit over there to contend with."
Warren looked over to the businessman. "Tosser, man. Complete tosser."
"Yeah man. He's trying to feed me the family shit."
"Oooooh. I dare him to say something about your Da' "
Andy looked darkly at Warren. "He mentioned my family, yeah. Said if it wasnt for him i'd be peddling hamburgers."
A loud laugh was barked as the group made their way to Andy's office. "Does anyone even know who you are anymore?" Asked Ethan.
"I dont think anyone knows the poor bastard" Joked Warren.
"Ah shut it. People dont have to know me. Cept you fellas."
They got to Andy's office. Once inside, the wall shifted once more, revealing the secret operation centre. The group went in, and the wall closed silently behind them. Cold. Austere. Impenetrable.
The rest of the group was still having the quiet barbeque. Andy shuffled in and Grabbed a steak, and filled the rest of the group in on the mission parameters.

OOC: The ammo I'm referring to does exist, I saw it on an episode of CSI. If anyone knows the name, tell me.
Wolf listened intently to the mission breifing Jade was providing. Finally, a chance for Monk to regain his past...I hope that is a benefit to him as well as us.. He remembered the part about how the buidling must not be destroyed, and looked at his weapons. He decided he would need to switch his ammunition to the kind that Air Marshals used, ammo designed to penetrate the target, but not exit.
I will not have Monk lose his last chance to regain his memories because of something I've done...and for that matter, anything else someone has done.
He spoke up. "Might I suggest that for this mission, Jade, that we all use that ammuniton the Air Marshals use, so we don't go through an enemy soldier and hit a vital piece of computer equipment. Also, all high explosives should be left out of our loadouts, there is too much at risk here."

Before he could leave, Jade pulled Wolf aside. "I have something to tell you. Due to the events that have unfolded, I'm awarding you second in command of the Cyber Team officially. If it wasn't for you back in the bunker, Monk and I wouldn't be here today, so I wanted to thank you for that. Also, I'm gonna need you to watch Monk during this mission. Andy looked over to the screen. "Hey! lookit that!" Andy stepped closer, peering at the monitor, and pushing the Tech away. Andy started poking the screen, trying to provoke a response from the little figure on the screen. "What is it, little man?"

OOC: No, dum-dums can go through targets, and they are designed to flatten out on impact for maximum damage. The bullets I'm talking about aren't really hollowpoint per-se. The tip has a high-strength "window" (made out of some kind of heavy-duty glass), and beyond that window are tiny ball bearings, like miniature buckshot. When the bullet hits a target, the window breaks (along with the rest of the bullet) and releases the mini-shot. It's like a fragmentation bullet of some kind.
BIC: Wolf was estatic. He had always assumed the second-in-command role, but now it was official. He was the Cyber Team's XO.
"Th...Thanks" Wolf said upon hearing the news. Then he listened as Jade told him to keep a close watch on Monk throughout the mission. This was something he had planned to do anyway, but it was nice to know someone was thinking on the same page.
"Don't worry Jade" Wolf said as he drew a gun from his ankle holster. "This M9 is specially designed to fire tranquilizer dart bullets. The tranq takes effect almost instantly if it hits the head or neck. It's also supressed, so that's a plus. The only donwside is that it fires very slowly. I have to fire, pull back the slide again, and fire again...etc. So, if that is everything for now, I'll be either in my quarters, or honing my Cyber world combat skills."
Wolf saluted Jade, and turned and headed towards his quarters inside the base.
Monk walked into his quarters and sat down. Lighting a candle he placed it in front of him and focused all of his power into it. He always loved the sight of a burning candle. It was soothing, and relaxing. In the room was dark, except for the one light source, showing Monk's face and his body, cross-legged with his hands between them. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes.
First, the light appeared. He fought to reach it, and upon reaching it, there were men dressed in strange clothes, with masks covering their faces. He had just relived his birth.
Next, a flash of light came again, and after it passed, he was in his young childhood. Recieving only love and trust from his parents, these was the happiest times of his life.
The light appeared again, but this time he was in a monestary. He was about 7 at this time. His teacher stood in front of him. They both bowed at the hips, then assumed they're fighting positions. After a brief moment, the teacher managed to trip him up, and lay him on the ground, the masters foot on his neck. "You have much to learn..."
Next image, he was 15, and it was the same place, same people. Bowing, they both assumed a fighting stance. The battle was just a short, just this time, it was Monk who tripped him up, and placed a foot on his throat, "It looks like I have learned master."
Next, the light dissappeared, but this time, there was only blackness. This was usual for him, but today, it was different. The black had a light in it. A single dot, almst as small as the candle in front of him. He ran towards it. The memories! They were right there! He could once again remember them. As he came closer and closer the light grew, until it became a blinding source of energy. He was forced to stop and cover his eyes. After the wave had passed, he look around and saw a building. It was giant, but it stood alone. Around there was nothing but fields. This was the first time he ever had this amout of control in his dream sequences.
He walked into the front door, which he found to be unlocked. Walking in, he was in his monestary once again, but there was no one around, and all but one candle was lit. He walked to the candle and inspected it. What he saw was a cnadle on it's last breath, having been burning for a long while. Looking away he found another door, one he had never seen in his old home before. A wave of fear passed through him. The answers, he knew, were in that room.
Walking towards it, the room disappeared and before him stood a large metallic door. His arm quivering, he force himself to reach for the doorknob. Getting a hold of it, he took another deep breath. This is it... He turned it, only to find it locked. No matter. He let go, took a step back, and kicked it down. A flash of light hit him again. Adjusting to it he looked in and saw a long hallway, complete in white, with a figure down the end. He took a step in. "Hello?" Another step, "Who are you?" Walking, he got a closer look at the figure. It seemed to be his height, in fact, it looked to be him, but it wasn't. He was dress in black, his eyes covered by the black bandana he was wearing. "What are you doing here?"
The figure smiled. "You're friends will fail... and they will all parish."
"Fail? What do you mean?"
"Fail... something we have not known. And the best part is, they will fail, because we will succede."
"I don't know what you are talking about!"
"I'll be waiting for you... Myth." He reached to his side, and pulled something out. A flash, a bang, and a sharp pain came into his head. "I'll be waiting for you..."
"AHH!" Monk opened his eyes wide to see the candle in front of him. Again, the only light source in the room. He was breathing heavy, he felt his head, feeling no bullet hole, he closed his eyes. Myth? I'll be waiting for you? Friends will fail... He didn't make sense of any of it, but he knew one thing. They shouldn't go in his mind.
I'll be waiting for you... Myth...

OOC: A note to all my slaves...er...rpers yeah that's right:
I'll be driving off to Florida on Friday and since it's an 18 hour drive (well it's really 24, but if you count the way my dad drives...), I haven't the slightest idea when I'll be able to get on again. I'll be bringing my laptop to Florida with me, but they only have crappy dial-up. Hopefully I'll be back on by Sunday. Anyways, you guys can progress with the little side stories about the agents and various other characters until I get back on, or just not post, that's understandable as well. I'll get back on asap and continue with the mission (Devil, this might be a good time to talk to Wofl about your story, MC can continue with his dreams and so on). My agent can eb taken over by someone else if they so desire.
So to all my faithful rpers: Merry Christmas, Happy Hannuka, Happy Kwanza and Happy whatever you celebrate. Have restful winter breaks (lord knows I need it), and I'll see you all soon.

OOC: I wanted to do this later, but now seems like a better time.
Wolf sat down at the desk inside his quarters. It was like any other desk, except it had a jack-in module into the Cyber World.
I probably should hone my stealth skills, God knows I could do with a refresher course.
Wolf plugged himself in, and brought up a training site as his jack-in point.
Hit hit transmit, and waited for the transmission of his consciousness to the net. All of a sudden, his comp screen lit up with a transmission error, followed by a redirect. Wolf was unable to stop it, and the effect of having his mind forcibly transferred across the net almost made him black out.
***
He found himself in a white room, seated at a desk. Also, all his weapons were gone. At the other end of the desk sat a man in a business suit and dark sunglasses. He had thinning brown hair.
So Mr. MacKenzie...at last we meet. the man said
"And you might be?"
"Uh...Smith. Agent John Smith, US FBI."
"Right, and I'm the Provost of Edinburgh." Wolf laughed, a slight Gaelic accent punctuating the word "Edinburgh". "If I had to guess, I'd say you're really an AI program created by Mastermind with the express intent of recovering Monk."
Smith was startled momentarily "How did you know?"
"You're names are far too generic. Agent Steven Thompson and Agent John Smith are a dead giveaway for an AI's line of thinking."
"So...you are intelligent after all...but enough aside. You are here because you have something Mastermind wants."
"Yeah...he wants Monk. What makes you think I'll give him up?"
"You lead an interesting life. On the one hand, you are Jason MacKenzie, an upstanding soldier and citizen of the US. On the other hand, you are Wolf, a special ops soldier fighting alongside common mercenaries who all have one thing or another wrong with them, or a deeply shrouded past."
"You didn't answer my question."
"Why did you stop going by your birth name? Why are you in a mercenary outfit?"
"That's none of your business, Smith" Wolf was starting to get angry.
"Oh, but I already know the answer to that. You see..."
"Enough! Just tell me your demands you Tarintino-dressed boggart." Wolf wasn't ready to delve into his past at all.
"Simple, you give up Monk to us, seeing as how he is a threat to your life and that of your team's. In exchange, Mastermind will wipe all data about why you stopped going by your real name, rather than tell the world."
Wolf thought. "That sounds like an interesting proposition, but I have a better one: How about I give you a flipper?"
Wolf extended the middle finger on his right hand.
"You disappoint me." Smith frowned.
"Heard it already from your buddy Thompson"
"What puzzles me most is why you would want to protect such a volitaile subject such as Monk. He is not benificial to you or your team in any way, and he almost got you killed"
"That's where you're wrong. He has everything Mastermind has ever told him inside his mind. A lot of it is very secretive and could damage Mastermind if it got into the wrong hands...but you already knew that. Once we unlock it, Mastermind will be finished. And as for the second part, the thing your boss stuck in his head is what's trying to kill me and my team, not himself. The reason I protect him and help him is because nobody deserves to be a slave to Mastermind, nobody. He is my friend, and I will gladly die fighting to keep him from the likes of you."
"Well, then, Mr. MacKenzie, I think that can be arranged."
Wolf knew what was coming. He instantly checked his clothing for something, anything that could be used as a weapon. Somehow, Smith had missed the M9, probably because it wasn't a lethal weapon. Wolf quietly brought it up to hip level, even as Smith drew a Desert Eagle and leveled it at Wolf's head.
"Last chance...Mr. MacKenzie"
Wolf put his left hand on the underside of the table, and his right hand gripped the M9 tightly.
"Fuck you...Mr. Smith" Wolf said as he flipped the table and brought his M9 up. Smith's shot hit the table and did not go through. Wolf instantly targeted Smith's head with the M9 and fired. Smith dodged the tranq as if it were moving through molasses.
Oh, shit! Wolf thought as Smith fired again and again at the table, wood and metal splinters went flying. Wolf kicked the table as hard as possible right at Smith, and fired the M9 again. Smith couldn't move fast enough to hit the table and dodge the M9 tranq simultaneously. As the table shattered, the tranq hit Smith right between the eyes. He fell backwards, unconscious.
Wolf checked his pockets. His PDAP was still there. He activated his online monitoring program, pressed "log-off"...
***
And found himself back in his quarters. Wolf's hands were shaking, he had never seen anybody be able to dodge bullets like that, RW or CW. He considered it was luck that attributed to his survival this time.
I don't see why Mastermind wants Monk back so badly, but he's created god-modded AI to get him back. Well, Mastermind should've learned...A wolf on the prowl is dangerous, especially with a knowledgable pack supporting him.
Wolf typed an Email to all members of the Cyber force, explaining his theory on these "Agents". He also added that it was sheer luck he was still alive. After he sent it. Wolf decided to take a nap, then try and log back into his traning program...although under more secure conditions.
OOC: Okay, all Agents are released to the people who called them. As for Jade's Agent (Agent Thompson). I delegate this role to MC43, since he had wanted to be an agent.

Wolf awoke from his slumber feeling refreshed. He was about to start up his training program again, when he noticed that his computer was already on...somehow...and it was displaying the conversation between Jade and Coyote.
Why would...? Wolf thought, then he noticed J2 was sitting at the bottom of the screen
"Thought you might like to see this, don't worry, you haven't missed much." the program said
"Hmm...thanks." Wolf said as he sat down, listeneing to the conversation
"Yes I'd like to buy Park Place from you in order to complete my Monopoly." Coyote said
If it was anybody else, I'd say he would be talking in code...and maybe he is. I don't see why his son would classify as one of the most expensive properties on the board though...because wouldn't he have other sons and daughters given his capability? Maybe he's just rambling inately...Yeah, that's a possibility, given the Virus's nature. But then again, there is method to the madness. Monopoly could refer to all of his clones, again Park Place is his son, and buying...well that just confuses me for now, seeing as how we're just going to give him what he wants. I'll listen in for now. If negotiations break down, I may have to lend some support, however. If that is even possible.
"I can jump into this right?" Wolf asked the program
"If you feel the need." J2 responded
"Well, it looks like Jade can handle herself, so I'll just observe for now...she doesn't know yo did this...does she?"
"No. I did this on my own accord, seeing as how you had the original idea to bring in the clone to locate the real deal."
"Hm...I may definetly want to let her handle this unless it is absolutely necessary that I step in. She might get a little pissed that you did this of your own free will."

OOC: Love code talking!! And with this brief post, I bid you all adieu until probably thursday night.
Monk was left in the dark. The candle that was once lit had been blown out during the dream. He took a deep breath, and lifted himself off the ground, walking over to his door. The trip had been made many times, so he could walk it blind folded, or in the dark in this case. Shaking his head, he knew that he had to share this vision with someone, but who would be willing to listen to this outrageous dream. That's all it was, a dream.
But it wasn't... Monk started to fight with himself. This wasn't a dream. These are memories of the past, I do this on several occasions, why has this started now? What is going on in my life? I don't remember using pistols in my life. Not at all. At least... I thought I didn't.
He stopped in the middle of the hallway and looked at the celing, But why did it seem so natural? I felt like I could hit any point at any time, and I could! I had to force myself not to shoot Jade in the head. She as in my sights, if I didn't cut in in that last moment.
He paused once more. Jade... why is she so eager to help me? Is it just because she wants the information in my head? That seems like the likely cause, there really isn't much more use of my position here. He continued his walking, watching his feet make their steps. I am filled with so many questions. but they can all be summed up into one...
Why?
OOC: I thought that I would bump this up, so that no one would forget it. I almost did. Ok... no I didn't...

A tall man walks through the parking lot, looking thin and somewhat bony, with long blonde hair and a flowing black trenchcoat over dark pants and shirt and nondescript boots. His tight, brooding, and piercing face looks up at his destination's second story windows, then the third and fourth, panning widely back and forth to take in the view. There's where he'll be given his new assignment, and where he'll meet his new boss: Jade. That was all he knew at this point was her first name, 'cause he'd forgotten her last.
Having spent his last five years working for a cell that'd had him taking out drug cartel leaders, this assignment was looking fresh and exciting; he'd spent the whole plane ride over here daydreaming about harder targets, actually. It seems that he's been getting sloppy lately, fumbling some pretty easy tasks and making mistakes, although he'd still been fulfilling his objectives. That was probably part of the reason he'd been transferred...that and his passive whining. All speculation aside, he scans over from his right and goes left, then hums satisfactorily: nothing on the roof. His long career of assassin work had made him a suspicious guy, so he's looking out for potential snipers and traps, too. It's a bad habit that he's had a hard time breaking.
He finally breaks his gaze and walks towards the front door, already trying to figure out what he'll say to the receptionist...or the guard, or his new boss, or maybe an old friend, or maybe an old enemy, or a quick apology if he should bump into somebody accidentally, or...

Well, that certainly made things obvious. The board is cyberspace, burning it down means he'll destroy cyberspace with his doomsday device. As for pissing on the ashes...maybe that means he wasnts to establish a Coyote-Run digital republic out of the empty real estate...or something. But...the gas can changing to cash and gold confuses me. Does he mean to pay us off and keep his weapon...or is the weapon represented by both?
While pondering the implications of the shape-shifiting payoff, Wolf's PDAP beeped. He answered it, and noticed an anthropomorhpic timber wolf dressed in urban combat fatigues was on the screen.
"Sorry to bother you, but your friend has just left his room." the wolf said in a Gaelic Scottish accent
"Thanks, Beowulf." Wolf responded.
Beowulf was an AI program Wolf had liberated from Mastermind's clutches about 6 months prior to joining the Cyber Force. The AI had become attached to its savior, and basically became Wolf's assistant in both the RW and CW. Beowulf had been a U.K. Military AI, but Wolf had managed to expand on the programming a little bit. Beowulf was capable of surveillance, tactical analysis, and brute force subversion of securtiy systems. Wolf had added a search program into that as well, and was working on trying to make Beowulf the primary AI of Daishi, the OTAV Wolf had been given by the higher-ups. Unfortuunatley, the factory-built AI the OTAV had was proving resilient.
"Right now, he's walking the hallways in a kind of a daze. Better go check on him." the AI continued.
"Okay, I will." Wolf said. He took the time to transfer the negotiations over to his PDAP so he could keep an eye on them, and then he walked out of his quarters, searching for Monk.
He's probably still working through his head on what he needs to do. I'm pretty sure he tried to get out of the team. I know I might've questioned my stability after almost killing two teammates.
He eventually found Monk walking slowly, looking down at his feet.
"Good to see you're up and about." Wolf said.
Monk turned and looked at him.
"What's on your mind?" Wolf asked.
"Good to see you're up and about." Wolf said.
Monk turned and looked at him.
"What's on your mind?" Wolf asked.
Nothing? No... that won't pass. He knows me too well. He fumbled around for an answer, when he thought that he would try and avoid the topic all together. "Yeah... it feels good to be on my feet. I got up from bed, and almost forgot how to walk, if that's at all possible?"
It look like Wolf was going to say something, but Monk continued his story, "Yeah... but now that the bones are all back in their place, I just decided that I would walk off all the ones that weren't, then train a little more. You know, make sure that I still know how to fight. I wouldn't be much help if I couldn't even fist-fight." He let out a weak chuckle. Again wolf stepped foward to speak, "Yeah... off the gym, let me know when we're leaving, all right? I don't want to miss this job," and he was off. To somewhere.
Uh... where is the gym? Do we have one?

Wolf knew his friend was hiding something. He had mixed emotions about this.
On one hand, I'm mad he can't tell me whatever it is that's bothering him. On the other hand...I too am hiding something about my past. If I press the issue, things won't get resolved easily. If he wanted to tell me, he would. I'll just let it go for now...
"Well," Wolf said "If you think of anything you feel the need to tell me, or anything that you have to let someone hear, let me know. I mean, that's what friends are for, right? Anyway, I think the gym is down the hallway, in that direction." Wolf pointed behind himself.
Monk stopped and turned around. "I knew that." He said matter of factly. "Yeah... I did, really!" He walked around his friend towards the gym. "Go away!"

12-29-2003, 03:52 AM
At Monk's sudden outburst, Wolf knew all was not right with his friend.
He's definetly holding something back...and he's hiding the truth...something is not right here.
Wolf's hand gravitated towards the M9 tranq pistol, but he didn't draw it. He decided that right now, Monk was not a threat to himself or others, so sedation was unecessary. Wolf decided to try and talk to Monk later, but for the moment he turned and headed back to his quarters to continue his observation of Jade and Coyote's exchange.
"Ah fuck this, man." Andy got up and started out of his office. He rounded a bend and walked right into Monk. "Oh, sorry, wasnt wa...Hello Monk." Andy looked the newly on-his-feet monk up and down. "Going somwhere? Maybe i can point you in the right direction."

"I await your response." He crossed his arms in front of his chest in the shape of an X. "End of line." The screen went black.
Monk looked Andy right in the eye, fear making it quiver. I thought he hated me. Last I checked, he had a death wish against me. He pondered his words carefully.
"Going... somewhere? Yeah... I'm going to the gym. I need to make sure my skills are still up to par. It's been a while since I last moved these bones."

12-31-2003, 11:17 PM
Wolf watched as Coyote's screen blanked out. Well, I guess that's the end of that...for now. He activated his PDAP again, and contacted Beowulf. "Beowulf, is there any chance that you could disable a bomb Coyote designed to wipe out cyberspace?"
"If it were anyone else, I'd say yes. But unfortunately, this Coyote virus is unpredictable, so I highly doubt I could disarm, disable, or delay the detonation of, any bomb the virus created. I'm afraid brute force is out of the question, and my cyber-bomb disposal skills aren't exactly the greatest."
"I was afraid of that." Wolf said "In that case, I need you to keep tabs on any information regarding Coyote and the Doomsday Device. Relay it to the PDAP, and let me sort it out. Try to tag anything looking suspicous. Don't worry about trying to exclusively search for anything regarding Monopoly, Coyote will have changed metaphors already."
Last time he spoke about the device, he used a Zero Wing quote. I responded in kind. Now he changed to Monopoly. God knows what he'll do next...Clue? Something from Metal Gear 1? Who can tell?
"Got it. I'll let you know what I come up with." The AI vanished from the screen.
Wolf thought about contacting Jade, let her know his thoughts on the situation, but he thought better of it. She's not stupid. She'll have an idea. If she needs your help she'll ask for it.

"You know Wolf, it's not polite to go snooping around other people's conversations, especially when you're going to get caught. I'm a hacker remember? But something else did blow up.
Smoke fills the hallways next to the reception area and people scramble all over. At the center of all the commotion are Wraith and a receptionist, who moments earlier had a little argument about all the ordnance he's carrying. A short struggle'd ensued, and she'd gotten hold of one of his grenades and accidentally set it off.
Smoke alarms go off all over the building while Wraith holds his head in one hand, shaking his head while she scolds him.

Wolf shut down his communicator. I have a strong suspicion Jade is trying to test my loyalty...or maybe I'm just paranoid...well...it doesn't matter now anyway. Of course...I should've known an AI can't beat a professional hacker.
He sent priority 1 emails to every single person on both teams alerting them that Jade wanted them all to meet in the conference room within 5 minutes...and that's when the smoke alarms went off.
What the hell happened now? He wondered as he ran to the source of the alarms, the reception area. He saw an unidentified man scolding the receptionist...something about setting off grenades. Wolf decided that since the man wasn't trying to kill everyone in sight, he probably wasn't a threat......probably.
If he's anything, he probably is a new recruit. We've had a few of them today. I wouldn't be surprised. Wolf thought.
He walked up to the man. "Hope I'm not interrupting anything. My name is Wolf, XO of the Cyber Force. Two questions. Are you another new recruit? And, uh...why is the area filled with smoke?"
Wolf was sure to keep his hands away from his firearms.

He then points his finger at her. "And the smoke's all her fault."
She looks at him indignantly and exclaims, "Me!?"
"Yes, you. You're the one that pulled the pin out."
"After you took out the grenade!"
"AFTER you told me to take out all my weapons!"
"It looked like a real one!"

<A girl tries to take one measely break for coffee and grenades go off..sigh> Jade rushed out of her office and into the lobby. She saw Wolf talking to another unidentified man who was ranting and waving his hands at the visibly shaken secretary. "Ok, that's it. I'm surrounded by stress. You," she pointed at the man "should know how to handle a grenade and should not have them in visible sight when entering a military facility. And you," she said pointing at the girl "shouldn't be touching live ammo." Jade's face was flushed and her green eyes blazed. "What is wrong with you people?!" She threw her hands up in frustration. Taking a few calming breathes she again faced the newcomer. "In...my office...now. Wolf, get a cleanup crew on this on the double and then debrief the groups, I'll be back when I get done with him." She then stomped off. <God, I shouldn't have blown up at them. How unprofessional, Andy would have a field day with me.> She also thought about how she shouldn't be pushing Wolf with all of the responsibilities. <But this'll give me a good idea of how he can operate.> Jade made her way into her office, went to her fridge, and pulled out a double shot espresso. She then drank the whole can down with 3 aspirins and waited for the newcomer to enter.
OOC: Oh I know you'll fight me all the way Jadguy, oh and new chapter please people. Woo hoo for 5 chappies!!!
