I'm writing a research paper on the demise of the independent bookstore, and one of the points I'm trying make is that the internet has made it possible for independently published books to achieve decent sales. I know Brian mentioned a high Amazon sales ranking in one of his news updates, but I don't know how to access old news updates. Does anyone have any specific info as to how well it's selling or the peak Amazon sales ranking? (And if anyone knows of and could link me to any related articles, that would be really helpful).

I believe the best rating I personally saw or had reported to me was a sales rank of about 21. At Amazon.ca (the Canadian store front) we were down to 16 at one point.
