*ahem* Calling to everyone who's plated MGS, Splinter Cell, SOCOM, or anything of the sort. This RP is of that nature.

A small crack team, sneaking in, removing bodies as they go and leaving undetected...How sweet is THAT!?

All of our "missions" will have a brief moment of us getting there, then we go crazy when inside. Well, not CRAZY crazy, just freestyle. Without the excessive explosions (You trigger happy punks.) Odds are we're going to be a mercenary group, but that might be subject to change.

Within the backgrounds, I'm looked for varied backgrounds. Let's face it, we've all seen RPs where everyone is a carbon copy of the next guy. Individuality is what we want, and unique traits that may come into play.

Sign-up is as follows.

Name:
Nickname:
Age:
Gender: (yes, I would like some girls, if only to see what it's like)
Appearance:
Gear: (Your equipment)
Firearms: (guns)
Explosives: (grenades, charges, plastiques, portable geo-thermal reactor)
Other weapons, and things that hurt: (knives, bats, crowbars, dead iguanas)
Attributes: (things you're good at)
Weaknesses: (I don't expect you to trade an arm and a leg for attributes. Just put in little flaws. Doesn't have to be anything big)
Temperament: (psychology, attitude, personality, etc.)
Bio:
Quote:
Extra:

Yes, it's a lengthy sign up. However, I feel it helps to REALLY iron out who you are.

Hopin' for a good-size influx, sign-up, and get your darker more tactical brain wheels goin'. You're gonna' need 'em.

So SS makes his entrance, with a good idea for an RP.

I'll have a character up soon, I have a good idea for a mercenary from my main character from Jagged Alliance...

*snickers loudly**both at SS, and at the title of the thread*

alright. i'm game. because MGS and Splinter Cell kick ass. ^_^

Name: Taylor McIntierrey

Nick Name: Shad (short for Shadow. Although she gets "here comes trouble" a lot too.)

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Appearance: Well, if you couldn't have guessed it from her last name, she has red hair, worn in a slightly shaggier female version of a mullet. The back ends in the middle of her neck, the middle hangs a bit before her earlobes, and the top is just long enough to catch her eyes. Needless to say, she generally wears a bandanna. Green eyes that fade to grey in some lights. About 5'8", athletic build. Slightly darker skin tone than you'd expect from someone with a last name like McIntierrey. When not working tends to hang about in surfer shorts, sandals (or, alternatively, worn mechanic's jeans, workboots) and sleeveless t-shirts (or, conversely, longs sleeves and a toque rather than the ever-present bandanna). Add a vest if it really is cold outside. Obviously on the job she wears the same stealth-enhancing kind of stuff that everyone else would, plus the bandanna.

Gear: tool belt, containing important things like screwdrivers, wire strippers/cutters, lock picks, pliers, and such, a handheld computer, a mag-light, her night-vision goggles, flak vest, fingerless gloves, other stuff it's neccessary for any prepared Spec Ops individual to have.

Firearms: since SS is a dork and is telling me to hurry up and write this and won't stop bugging me(!) all you get is general descriptions. so, yes. a pair of handguns. and possibly an assault rifle. and extra ammo. plus anything else she can legitimately get her hands on that won't slow her down.

Explosives: carries a small number of charges and plastic explosives for opening those doors that resist her l337 hacking skillz. and for making doors when they're absolutely neccessary.

Other weapons: well, her hands and fists, obviously. she's realtively skilled in unarmed combat. And she has a boot knife and a couple throwing knives.

Attributes: good with mechanical bits, lock picks, and computers. she's the official non-explosive door opener. And jacker of vehicles. And, in some case, repairer of said vehicles. She has good aim, and is good in unarmed combat. The fact that she is generally the one that goes in to open the door means that she's also excellent in the field of stealth. Hence the nickname.

Weaknesses: really enjoys explosions. and can sometimes get caught up in hacking enough that she fails to notice things around her...like guards. or security cameras. not often, but it can happen. can be spectacularly clumsy at times when stealth isn't a life-or-death issue, tending to result in injury on her part. But she heals fast. Quietly sarcastic. Weakness for milk chocolate products.

Temperment: laid-back to a fault. enjoys destruction maybe a tad too much. and tends to have a pretty weird sense of humour. doesn't talk if she doesn't have something insightful or sarcastic to say.

Bio: Eh. Pretty normal. An orphan, grew up in a foster home. Finished high school...did two years of a combined degree in computer science and engineering. Was expelled from the university for hacking the system. Got involved in the military. left, possibly because of a disagreement over what constituted private military information. came to the team. nuf said.

Quote: "Would you guys shut up for a second? Thank you. Continue on."

Extra: most likely the team's quietest and most stable member. doesn't get worked up over much. enjoys a challenge immensely. is deathly afraid of needles. and ferrets. but mostly needles. Speaks fluent english, french, spanish, and japanese. Just don't expect her to be able to write any of it legibly.

Hmmm... Tactical Espionage Action? My cup of tea...

Name: Danae (DUH-nay)

Nickname: Number 36 (She's the 36th in her batch). Also Dana (her name gets mispronounced sometimes) and Scully.

Age: 18

Gender: She's a chick, yeah.

Appearance: http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-11/496467/Shiki-small-head.JPG

160cm , 48kgs, red eyes, black hair and pale skin. No distinguishing marks except for a small bar code on the back of her head (only visible when her hair is shaven off).

Gear: In social situations Danae dresses in a jacket, shirt and jeans, and she carries a small bag with her trademark Skorpion pistol and a bunch of extra clothes. Usually wears light Kevlar under her shirt, and keeps needles, knives and garrotes in almost every conceivable place (rolled up in her socks, inside her wallet, etc.

In combat she upgrades to a full tactical vest and fatigues, complete with a half-mask and ceramic armor inserts. She wears yellow-tinted shooting goggles and has a sling bag of grenades, as well as various ammo pouches and a radio on the back.

Firearms: Usually has a silenced machine pistol with her, a Czech Skorpion loaded with hollowpoint bullets. For major firefights she carries a pair of FN-P90s loaded with armor-piercing rounds. Most good assault rifles are too heavy for her.

Explosives: Danae doesn't usually carry explosives with her, but there are times when she uses RDX rounds in her MAC-10. Also, the derringer in her sneakers uses .357 magnum "cookie-cutter" rounds, which are essentially plastic explosive bullets. In urban combat she has a sack of 40+ grenades which she throws around and over cover. As an assaulter she is also good with plastic explosives.

Other weapons, and things that hurt: Folding combat knife, which is pretty much all she needs to kill a man. She is lethal with any object known to man, even a piece of A4-sized paper (once she rams it down someone's throat, that is...). Don't ask about what she can do with a hairbrush...

Attributes: Danae is incredibly fast, and she's as acrobatic as an Olympic gymnast, even in her combat outfit. Her small frame, lightning reflexes and enhanced muscles mean that she can slide between a man's legs, hop up behind him, grab his head and break his neck in one swift motion. Also, since she's a girl, and quite cute one at that, poorly-trained men hesitate to shoot her, which in a firefight basically means their deaths. On a completely non-combat note, she speaks, reads and writes fluent English, Chinese and Japanese, and can understand Arabic and French passably.

Weaknesses: Somewhat autistic and quite anti-social. Doesn't really know when she's using too much force, and when she gets mad, she goes crazy (think bloodbath). Danae tends to attract the wrong kind of guys, and if they try to paw her, she breaks an arm or a leg of theirs. She really needs a good friend...

Temperament: Very quiet, but very intense. Sometimes, during a bout of particularly intense sparring, she goes into a controlled rage, which is one of the few times she shows emotion. Danae's been through so much stuff that there's very little that really hacks her off any more.

Bio: Danae only looks like the average high school girl. In reality, she is one of the 50 experimental subjects of a government project to produce the ultimate soldier. Raised as a killing machine from day one, she was the test subject for numerous chemical and psychological conditioning experiments. After Number 41 from her unit went rogue, the people in charge got worried and sequestered the various members of the project all over the world. Danae was put under the charge of a black-ops team, and she was shifted periodically from city to city, each time using the cover of a high school student. Danae was put "on loan" to various special forces units and SWAT teams every now and then, to keep her in training.

However, a crime syndicate which had been hit badly by Danae and her team decided to strike back, and they killed everyone in the team except for her. Now she's free at last, but first there's just the matter of the mission she's going on...
and the enforcers fromt he syndicate gunning for her...

Quote: " Don't speak. Just die! "

Extra: Why is her personality so similar to Shad's? I swear, it just happened to be that way... Though I think Danae is more like the kitten nobody wanted than Shad the laid-back. She carries an iPod around, and listens to MP3s almost constantly. She has had some success using her looks to get her way, though she usually follows up by knocking the poor guy unconscious.

Put my character together...

Name: Dave Grendelsbane
Nickname: "Short Fuse" or "Fuse" (In relation to his temper, and due to an unfortunate accident on his first mission...)
Age: 35
Gender: Male

Appearance: About 6'4", He has thick, curley red hair, and a beard of the same. His green eyes have a friendly quality normally, but in the heat of battle can turn as hard as stone. He has an physically developed and broad frame making him look larger than he is, and a rough looking appearance. He wears a variaty of battle clothing depending on what area they are going into, but the one constant is his lucky black boots, which look like they have seen one battle too many, and a twisted piece of metal he wears around his neck (A 'lucky charm' that he saved from the accident that got him his nickname)

Gear: Kevlar Helmet, Kevlar Body Armor, Kevlar Leggings, Thick Gloves, Walkie Talkie, Night Vision Goggles, Infrared Goggles, a toolkit for repairing his equipment, and that also has the tools for setting up his explosives.

Firearms: MP5K with silencer (SMG), M79 (Grenade Launcher)
Explosives: Fragmentation Grenades, Incindiary Grenades, TNT, C1, C4, Plastic Explosives.
Other weapons, and things that hurt: 2 Combat Knives

Attributes: An expert with explosives and heavy weaponry, Fuse tends to get the fire support jobs in combats, laying down cover fire for the others, and if they need to make a door where htere wasn't one, Fuse is your man. He is also surprisingly agile for his size, just don't expect too much, and is decent in hand-to-hand combat as well, although he prefers to stay at a distance and blaze away so he doesn't go hand-to-hand often, and is one of the stronger members, allowing him to carry all of his weapons of choice along with his explosive gear.

Weaknesses: Has a problem with precision, long range shots, better at using automatic weapons and spraying the enemies with it. Prefers his explosive weapons over his standard rifles and guns, which is bad on the friendly fire issue...

Temperament: Has a quick temper and a tendancy to accept every crazy assignment. Becomes bored easily, and does some crazy things when bored, which makes for a dangerous combination. Generally can keep himself together, but has been known for taking off on his own occasionally, even when there is a battle plan. Despite all this, he still has a sense of humor and a friendly attitude with others, even in the middle of a battle.

Bio: A hardened veteran that has been with the organization since the begining, Dave "Short Fuse" Grendelsbane is as reliable as they come. He is always ready to help out a friend in need, and has a track record of excellence, but that doesn't make him perfect. He led a rocky road at first until he honed his skills, and feels that some of these "young punks" that are new to the organization need to prove themselves before he trusts them. The explosives expert, if it needs to be blown up, blown out of the way, or something needs to NOT blow up, he is the first on the list to take care of it. His specialty in heavy and explosive weapons has helped in more than one situation, and he usually keeps a level head in combat, and never panics even when he loses his cool. He is not a man built for stealth or speed, but he still manages well on the field of battle, and even though he has a tendancy to go it alone, he always gets his objectives completed.

Quote: "I have yet to see an obstacle that can't be solved by blowing it up."

Do we need to know much about guns for this?

Cause I rather just say I have a big, fancy, high techy sniper rifle then spend a bunch of time looking for the actual name of one...

well, i'll be the first to admit that my knowledge of guns bigger than semi-autos is mostly from video games. but if you want a name, the Barrett M95 is an armour piercing sniper rifle.

but if you're gonna post a character, you'd better do it quick, 'cause SS was saying something about his char being a sniper...........

Wolf99x

Okay, here's my character

Name: Bill Wallace
Nickname: Wolf (for his tenacity, his views on loyalty to the team, and his intelligence)
Age: 19
Gender: Male

Appearence: 5' 11", blond hair that has been spiked a little haphazardly. Blue-grey eyes. Medium build. Usually wears black tactical pants, a black T-shirt (either long or short sleeved), and occasionally, a black "Mechanics Jacket". His casual wear consists of black cargo pants, and a grey or black t-shirt. He also wears black sunglasses in both casual and mission gear (his sunglasses double as NVG). He wars combat boots while on a mission, and sneakers when in casual gear. Sometimes for missions he'll wear Urban or Jungle combat fatigues.

Gear: Kevlar helmet, Kevlar body armor. Twin shoulder holsters, hip holster, ankle holster. CODEC radio (tell me if that's not allowed and I'll change it.), NVG (the sunglasses), armored gloves. Normal combat boots. Utility belt. Tool set (bolt cutters, wire cutters, screwdriver, pliers). Silencers for his 4 guns.

Firearms: 2 Colt M911A .45 caliber pistols (7 shots, 3 clips each, 1 of which is AP ammo), IMI Uzi (30 shots, 2 clips, 1 is AP ammo), Glock (the one he owned as a police officer) (12 shots (I think,) 1 clip)
Explosives: 2 Chaff grenades, 1 fragmentation grenade
Other: 8-inch combat knife

Attributes: Wolf is an expert driver and pilot, and is capable of putting his skill and intelligence into hijacking alomst any vehicle for use in a mission. He also is a very competent gunslinger, and will sometimes drive and shoot simultaneosly without losing control. As is said before, he is quite smart, and can usually figure a way out of a tight spot.
Weaknesses: Too tenacious for his own good, doesn't know when to retreat. This can make him a threat to his own teammates. Some of his actions at the controls of a vehicle are, shall we say, borderline psychotic (or is that an advantage?)

Temperament: Usually calm and friendly, but once he gets riled it's hard to calm him down. Can be driven by rage. However, he is extremely loyal and never leaves a mission incomplete. Has a sense of humor, however it sometimes degrades during battle, where he is usually cold and calculating. Tends to get angered easily when the shit hits the fan during a mission, as he hates to lose teammates. Doesn't like being called "rookie", or being corrected by obnoxious people.

Bio: One of the newest members to the organization, Wolf was originally a police officer in New York. He was attached to the Organized Crime divison, and helped make numerous arrests on memebers of the Genaloni Crime Syndicate. When a hit attempt was made on him, he managed to kill the 5 Mafiosi sent to kill him with only a Glock, when they were armed with Mac-10s. This act seemed like a miracle, especially since it happened on I-95 in a high speed chase, and Wolf was driving and shooting at the same time. This act caught the attention of the organization, and he jumped at the chance to join. Although still technically a rookie, Wolf has proved himself in quite a few missions. He hasn't failed yet, and doesn't plan to. Usually the first to volunteer for a mission, despite risks. Wolf is also a video-game addict and constantly plays games like Time Crisis 3 and NFS Underground to hone his skills.

Quote: "Kick ass or get killed"
Extra: For his cover, Wolf is a Freshman student at MIT majoring in Video Game Design (this is a real course now).

... You realize you can only snipe cause the rifle shots the bullet fast enough and far enough, where other guns would fall short?

Wolf99x
12-06-2003, 02:30 PM
Note revised profile, the thought came to me just before you decided to bring it to everyones attention. But then again, using physics, he could still put the bullet where he wanted by firing it in a parabolic curve. To compensate for the speed issue...well I have no clue then.

IHateMakingNames
12-06-2003, 02:32 PM
Yes, but those shots are almost impossible, and it would be pure, dumb luck(god mod as we call it here) if he did them...

And to try and be more unique... I not being sniper anymore... Not using any guns at all...

Wolf99x
12-06-2003, 02:37 PM
It's all a moot point, but since my cahracter is highly intelligent he could pull of said shots using physics and etc. Now, quit annoying me.

You go out and try to snipe someone from the roof of a sky scrapper in a city to another one and aim for a guy in a window, using a pistol on a windy day. See how easy that is. You have 20 years to get as smart as you want...

Wolf99x

What's a moot point?

Forever Zero
12-06-2003, 02:56 PM
1. IHMN has a valid point, I don't care if you are a physics genius, you can't just turn any weapon into a sniper rifle by plotting trajectories.

2. Wolf has said he isn't a sniper, so it is a moot point. There should only be an issue if in the RP he starts sniping with every weapon that comes to hand from any range.

gh0st
12-06-2003, 03:45 PM
You know, IHMN, it's not really neccessary to start an argument in /every/ rp sign-up thread. I don't think i've seen one yet where you don't.

And, besides, as long as Wolf is hitting things within the normal range of the weapon, then he can keep his accuracy, and he's still technically not a sniper.

[OOC: hope you guys don't mind if I join...]

Name: Min Sung
Nickname: "Hawk" (quick eyes and fierce attacks. Before you hear him, it's too late.)
Age: 22
Gender: Male

Appearence: 5' 7", black hair, he's very thin.. but muscular. He usually wears dark comfortable clothing.
Gear: He has 2 shoulder holsters, and pockets with a small black utility belt around his waist. He also has some weapons and needles in his sleeves/ arm bands.
Firearms: USP (w/ Silencers) x2
Explosives: Smoke grenades, and small firecrackers (explode on imapact), tiny champagne bottles (not bigger than your finger) able to cause small explosion with flames.
Other: two tonfas (police night sticks) at his sides (specially made to reveal blades within the rods)

Attributes: The modern-day ninja, one-man army. "Hawk" is able to inflitrate and silence his enemies quickly and effectively. Although, he does know his way around a rifle he prefers to use his hands, tonfas or pistols. He's very good at gathering information. He has studied very deadly arts on how to attack the human body. (paralyze, bone alignment /break , acupuncture). He is very intelligent, a quick study and has insane hand eye coordination. He is multi-lingual and a very good actor. He's very resourceful being able to use anything as a weapon.

Weaknesses: Doesn't believe in the word "Teamwork". Dead or alive criminals? usually they come dead with "Hawk".

Personality: He is quiet, and rarely says much. He keeps most things to himself. He prefers working alone and finishing the mission by himself, has the habit of leaving his teammate in the dust and ironically rescuing them when they mess up. He refers teamwork as babysitting...

Bio: Highly trained in martial arts, police tactics, and weapons.. Min was ranked one of the highest students from the academy. He has 95% success rate thus far, the 5% loss were mission where he had to work with a team. Eventually, his superiors got the idea and sent him on solo missions. Although he wasn't always like this, he used have a partner named "Crow" aka Han. But Han sacrificed himself for the mission, or more specifically allowing Min to get away. Since then Min swore he never would depend on anyone again.

Quote: "Stay out of my way."
Extra: Min was also very good at acting. Complete with costumes, personalities and accents all ready. So sometimes his teammates found it very strange and unnerving when Min would act like a commoner, with fake smiles and laughs in enemy territory. One team member said "It was really creepy, because we've never seen him smile before." Min especially favors his "old man" costume, complete with a beard and hat and cane.

I'm not very knowledgable about guns, but if anyone needs some gun info for your characters, I use the weapon list for the game http://soldner.jowood.com/, It looks like a good game, and it has an accurate list of weapons past and present for the game.

Wolf99x
12-06-2003, 07:40 PM
BTW: I know perfectly well it is impossible to hit something hundreds of feet away with a pistol, with direct accuracy, and that's why I removed that info from my skill list. I also know that physics cannot turn ordinary firearms into sniper rifles (that "magic bullet" theory is a lie) SO IT'S A MOOT POINT! (thanks to those who picked up on that)

And as to the "they're" in my "supremacist idiot" comment, I'm not calling anybody, includuing myself, a supremacist. I just happen to know some people that are supremacsit morons who think they exist to make other people feel crappy, and as a result, they try to insult and belittle everybody around them. Apparently, they get off on crap like that. I'm advising people not to do something like that, and you know who you are.

No ones said what a moot point is yet... And if what I am thinking, why even say it's a moot point at all?

Wolf99x
12-06-2003, 07:51 PM
In the interest of clarification, here are the defintions of the two words (specifically, the meanings that apply to the phrase)

moot adj. of little or no practical value or meaning

point n. the important or essential thing; the point of the matter

Ergo, a moot point is something that has no meaning at the given point in time (hmm...shouldn't have said point in my definition).
Hope that helps.

Deathosaurus Wrecks
12-06-2003, 11:04 PM
Name: Arkedeslov Dorovev
Nickname: Arkady
Age: 35
Gender: Male
Appearance: Arkady is a stout man, 5'7 feet tall, and 200 lbs. He keeps his brown hair in a tight crew cut. On close inspection, a number of grey hairs can be seen along the side of his head. His face has started to show signs of age, with creaces at the edges of his eyes and lips that splinter out like dry creek beds. He has dark brown eyes that shine like he's smiling, even during serious moments and combat missions.

Gear: Kevlar helmet, Kevlar Vest (Urban camo), Gas mask w/ intregal low-light goggles.
Firearms: Neostead Shotgun ( http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/sh08-e.htm ) w/ bandileer of 24 rounds (12 buckshot, 12 slug). ( http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg20-e.htm )Torkarev TT w/ 2 clips JHP
Explosives: Flashbang x3 Teargas x3
Other weapons, and things that hurt: Arkady doesn't care for knives, but he does keep backups of his weapons and a large suply of ammunition.

Attributes: Arkady is a specialist in urban warfare; his weapons are intended for short range and heavy damage. For a man his size, Arkady is pretty quick, and strong as hell. Arkady has very keen senses, and responds quickly to change, all things he learned from room-to-room fighting.
Weaknesses: Whether as an effect of his training, or an inborn phobia, Arkady does not like wide open spaces. This, coupled with his weapons lack of long range firepower, keeps Arkady indoors or areas with adequate cover.
Temperament: Arkady has a very quick wit, and tends to crack jokes whenever possible. This doesnt mean that he's not serious about his job however, In a tense combat situation Arkady is all buisness. In many cases, he has overstepped his bounds by taking command when he felt that his C.O. was incapable of properly leading his squad.
Bio: Arkady was career military in the Russian Army, and served 15 years of his 20 year contract. However, during a battle Arkady thought that his Commanding Officer had paniced and was unsuited for his position. Although his squad made it out of the village alive with only two injuries (himself and his C.O.), he was courtmarshaled. Before he could stand trial, however, Arkady went AWOL, re-emerging a few years later as a gun-for-hire in the Mid East. Although he's beginning to get old, Arkady is well experienced in combat (veteran of the Russian-Afganistan conflict, Operation Enduring Freedom, Gulf War II).

Quote: "Little pig, little pig, let me in." - said right before blasting a door with a rifle slug from his shotgun.
Extra: Arkady makes it a point to make freinds with whoever he works with, both as a matter of buisness and to figure out who he can trust in a combat situation. As much as he likes living it up and drinking, whenever he's on a combat mission, he swears off all drugs to keep his mind focused.

Name: Kalland Alexander Rykov

Nickname: Longshot (known for taking on seemingly impossible odds and coming out alive)

Age: 32

Gender: Male

Appearance: 6' 4" tall, heavy set, short brown hair, grey eyes

Gear: Composite Torso armour, Night Vision Goggles, Composite Shin Guards

Firearms: G36K with miniscope and extended magazine, 92FS 0.45 Caliber, Combat Knife.

Explosives: Detcord, Flashbangs

Attributes: Longshot has had special training in many situations, his forte however is Low-Light Combat. He's great at taking down moving targets in close to medium range and has a serious knack for Injuring people with his fists.

Weakness: He can be impatient at times and often takes stupid risks.

Temperament: Kalland has a quick temper and comes off as a very aggressive person. He really does not like to be made a fool of (the last teamate to do that was personally introduced to the frame of a barstool traveling at high speeds-eight times).

Bio: Kalland is an ex member of Special Operations Command. He was awarded a purple heart and a Legion of Merit for rescuing three Squad members from a wrecked Humvee after it was hit by RPG fire during the Second Gulf War. He was subsequently honourably discharged from the military for disobeying a commanding officer.

Quote: "what the hell are you looking at?!"

Extra: Despite his overly aggressive nature Kalland is quite a nice person, He's still a bit bitter over being thrown out of the military. He feels it his duty to preserve the lives of those he is working with, though this causes him to endanger his own life in some situations.

Name: Henna Moriaki

Nickname: Most people just use her last name, those closer to her use her first.

Age: 27

Gender: Female

Appearance: She is short in stature, no taller than 5’7”. Some might describe her as attractive, but her build is more that of a farm girl than anything else. That is not to say she is choking on her own muscles, but she can do her fair share of lifting. She is of Japanese decent on her mothers side, her father was a South African Brit so she speaks with a slight British accent. The color of her hair matches that of her namesake, and when the light hits it just right there is a glint of hazel in it. She usually keeps it up in some sort of a messy bun under her helmet. Her eyes are a dark brown.

Gear: Kevlar Jacket, Kevlar Helmet (Though she has a habit of not wearing it in favor of her bush cap), Jungle Camo Bush Hat, Jungle Camo Suit, Black Urban Camo Bush Hat Black Urban Camo Suit. Chest mounted pistol holsters, waist and chest mounted ammo bandoliers.

Firearms: Heckler-Koch MSG-90 sniper rifle w/ night vision and infrared scope http://world.guns.ru/sniper/sn27-e.htm, w/ ten 5 round magazines, two Glock 19 hand guns http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg15-e.htm, w/ eight clips.

Explosives: Two Fragmentation Grenades, One high explosive grenade
other weapons, and things that hurt: Combat Knife strapped to right leg

Attributes: Ever since she was a small child she has been holding a rifle. Her father use to take her hunting in the South African jungles as she was growing up, and in that environment you learn to hit your target on the first shot. It was only natural that she passed into the sniper program when she joined the military. She is just as comfortable in the urban jungle as in the jungles of South Africa, and welcomes the challenge that urban combat brings.

Weaknesses: Due to her sniper training she holds some contempt for automatic weapons and often those who use them. She finds them clumsy and unnecessarily messy. Due to this, she only carries the amount of ammo she thinks she will need into combat assuming a one shot/one kill ratio. She will often wait for the perfect shot, which could at times put her comrades in unnecessary danger.

Temperament: Although she is a trained killer, Henna was still brought up in a well off South African family. Thus, she still holds true to the manners and scruples she was taught in her youth. Soft-spoken for the most part, she need not make a large number of friends, but is fiercely loyal to those she does make. When she is on a mission, she thinks of it more of a hunt than anything else, much like the hunts her father took her on in her youth. She is very efficient and clean in her work.

Bio: Although he father did not approve she joined the South African
military when she turned 21 to escape the domestic life. She was quickly accepted into the sniper program where her marksmanship far exceeded even that of her instructors. Her usual assignments sent her covertly into some nearby war torn country where she would provide troop cover, interdiction, or officer assassination. When she turned 25 she went into business for herself and left the South African Military formally, although she still does business with them on a regular basis, and anyone else who can pay the price.

Quote: Just the sound of her rifle, and a Wry Grin after she pulls the trigger.

I guess this is what happens when there's a lot going on in your life. Too many people... I'm out.

Darth SS
12-07-2003, 06:11 PM
Okay. I need to point some stuff out...

In this RP, you will need to use your brains. Do something predictable, something that your character would never do and I kill you off. I'm not going to hold any qualms about that.

To everyone that's been loading up excessive grenades and such, sorry. We aren't an assault force. We're much more of an infiltration force. Seeing as we'll be getting there from air drops, approaches through jungles, rivers, week long hikes over mountains, etc. You'll be carrying a lot of stuff, but grenades and such would be more of a hazard then anything.

Dante- your character just doesn't work. Too young, too psycho. Even your weakness translates into a strength. Plus, with what yuor character is set as, I'd be very likely to kill her off fast. Too straightforward.

Ghostie-Apparently being my sibling lets you know what I accept.

Forever- Damn you for stealing my char idea...Yah. WAAAAY too many guns. We ain't rhinos here.

Wolf- Trim down the accuracy just a wee bit and you're good to go.

Roku- Completely contradicted yourself there. Right now, I gotta' say no.

Johnny- Absolutely. Frickin'. Hilarious. Welcome in!

Tenjin- c4? What crack are you on? Yah, we're REALLY gonna' use C4 in close quarters. Ditch the strategy thing, and aside from that you're good to go. Also, bounty hunter=no go.

Jigen- Guns are leaving me kinda' questioning. Nice Sniper background, even though that was my second idea. Still, very nicely pulled off.

Including me, that's nine people now. I'm pretty sure that 11 should be our limit. Any opinions?

Ooh, and here's me!

Name: Rory Bartholemew the III.
Nickname: Shade
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Appearance: When not on missions, he normally wears suits. Comfy ones mind you, and usually not all high level ones either. Dark brown buzz-cut. When on missions, there's his flak vest, combat boots, knives on their sheaths, his watch (of course) and he uses night-vision goggles that are thin and small enough that they don't weigh excess ammounts. Guns are in holsters on thighs. His knife dangles behind his left thigh.
Gear: Combat boots, flak vest, gloves, his night-vision (thermo) goggles, extra ammunition. Underneath the vest is a camo fatigue set. He normally carries a pack that has a bed-roll, food, and a GPS. A pair of holsters.
Firearms: A pair of Glock 17s with the laser sights put on under the barrels, making them look like SOCOMs. Silencer added after that. These are held on thigh holsters. Sometimes he takes some form of automatic weapon.
Explosives: Smoke grenades, basic boom grenades, and some charges. Sometimes he also takes sleeping gas.
Other weapons, and things that hurt: He has a long, curved knife. His watch incoperates a garrote. He also has some throwing knives.
Attributes: Very good at unarmed combat, stealth, and decent accuracy. Knows how to avoid trippin' alarms. Ain't half-ass in any category, and makes a pretty good infiltrator because of his former career.
Weaknesses: He sometimes forgets he's not a hitman anymore, and he's not lone wolfin'. Ain't the strongest on the team, and he sometimes forgets about team mates. Also, this approach thing is a bit odd for him as well.
Temperament: Very bright and cheerful actually. Not at all what you would expect from a trained killer. Sarcastic at times, but when he comes down on himself, HE COMES DOWN ON HIMSELF. Forgets small details.
Bio: Rory blah blah blah is what society frowns on as a dissapointment. He was raised from a baby by his parents, who were filthelly rich. The thing was, they controlled every aspect of his life. Always on special diets, always having to practice music and such. His days were monotonous and planned, and any book that wasn't information was forbidden. Movies were not allowed. He was allowed to do nothing that children were supposed to do to grow into their own person.

One day they found he had a stash of fantasy books hidden, and took them and fed them into a fire saying, "We can't afford for you to have your head up in a dream world. You must stay down to earth, thinking clearly and conscisely, not letting your mind be influenced by dreams." They treated the word like it was poison. That WAS the final straw. Because of everything they'd forced on him, outsmarting them and running away wasn't hard, and they'd left him a nice plump cash cushion in his account.

He used the money to learn about guns, to take martial arts, and to go to university. He got degrees in computer science, and mythology. After that, he couldn't find a job, until one day someone payed him money for him to sabotage an enemy's meal, and make them sick. He took it a step farther and was payed graciously for it. Since then he's become a hitman, and a VERY successful one. At his own little equipment storage/house he keeps a wall covered with guns he might need.

Following a recent set of jobs with a set of other hitmen, Shade decided to call it quits. One too many close calls had come up, and based upon their nature, none of his team-mates had been around to save his ass. Thus, this team was a perfect choice. While it isn't a seamless blend from his old hitman life-style, he's handeling it quite well.

Quote: "Before, I killed all alone, aiming for one person. Now, I'm trying to keep them from trying to kill one person."
Extra: Shade is the guy that secures jobs, gives updates, gets equipment, reassures employers. Incidentally, he's also the guy that keeps everyone else from mass-murder, from killing the employer, or anything of the sort. He also makes the coffee for the group after an incident involving the sniper.

but I need the crack to live man! *eyes dart around quickly* need more, NEED MORE!!! Yeah I thought the C4 was a bit much. I just thought it would come in handy if you need to take out something big.

Forever Zero
12-07-2003, 08:51 PM
Hey, as the explosives expert I'm the only one registered to handle C4 around here! But if theres no C4, I'll drop mine too. I can keep the other explosives right? I will drop some of my guns, but even infiltraters may decide that explosives are the last resort and decide to blow stuff up. Also, my character was based on a more mercenary and less infiltrater, so I'll change his stuff around some based on that too.

Darth SS
12-07-2003, 08:53 PM
You don't have to ditch all of them.

My basic reaction to that was, "A ROCKET LAUNCHER!?" Just try to think more within the realistic lines.

Darth SS

Actually, no. I'm going to harder in this one, it'll be much more TEAM-oriented, and we need to think much more realisticly. Granted, I'll allow absurd ammounts of luck at times, but aside from that, nah unh.

Changed my profile to make myself the driver/pilot/hijacker guy, made my shooting abilities average, but made it so that I can drive-shoot accurately (not insanely, but accurate enough). Only explosives are chaff grenades (radar jamming). Gave myself silencers and a toolkit for hijacking (if you can think of any more tools my character would use, let me know).

Darth SS

Eight clips per handgun, two handguns, and still extra ammo for your sniper rifle?

That's a lot of ammo to be carryin' around.

Jigen34
12-07-2003, 10:04 PM
Oh thats no problem. To be honest I was not sure how this was working out supply wise so I just pulled a number out of the air. I meant to put eight clips total for the hand gun so if I put eight apiece that was a mistake, also, I did'nt think 50 rounds of sniper ammo was all too much but I can cut it down to 25 if you feel it nessecary.

I dunno... I'm a combat medic, so that's why I thought about it. But if you need help just ask me. If you're the medic then I'll be the diver, or something. You can't possibly tell me we'll never need to go into water...

EDIT: Have you considered a "thief" or "infiltrator" type character? he's the one who comes in by the second story window and lets the team in via the ground floor door, saving them the trouble of having to scale a building they don't have to. This kind of guy would also be a fixer and scrounger, able to get anything anywhere. ("An RPG in the middle of London? Dante
12-08-2003, 12:35 AM
Name: Brad Wong

Nickname: Doc, China Bear, Number Two-Thirds (He lost the top of his middle finger when he was holding his weapon's suppressor to steady it. So now he flips people the bird to let them know they're Number Two-Thirds with him)

Age: 33

Gender: Male.

Appearance: A large Asian man, 198cm tall, weighing 85kg, most of it muscle. He wears glasses and ties his hair in a short ponytail behind him. Looks something like a muscular geek rather than a trained soldier. His arms are scarred by numerous needle marks, from his daily infusion practice with the medics under him, and he moves with a grace unbecoming of his size.

Gear: Body armor, elbow and knee pads, helmet, tactical light, medical kit (including three infusion kits and some emergency surgery equipment), atropine syrettes (for nerve agent poisoning), morphine syrettes (for recreation and pain relief).

Firearms: SAR-21 assault rifle with underslung M203 grenade launcher (http://www.securityarms.com/20010315/galleryfiles/0900/982.htm) - weighs a ton, but very stable. Carries an FN Five-SeveN (http://www.securityarms.com/20010315/galleryfiles/2300/2367.htm) pistol on a hip holster. He cross-trained a lot in his early days and can use almost any weapon reasonably well. For urban warfare, there's always the silenced MP5K and Glock.

Explosives: Doesn't really use explosives, although he's demolitions-trained. He uses instant-burst flechette rounds for his M203 (he calls it "the shotgun from hell"). He also uses white-phosphorous and fragmentation rounds, but not as much as the flechettes. He also carries a Claymore for booby-traps. ("Something to remember me by!")

Other weapons, and things that hurt: He carries around scalpels and a combat knife, the better to perform emergency heart surgery on the enemy with. He carries a length of paracord to garrote sentries. His combat knife (http://securityarms.com/20010315/galleryfiles/2300/2368.htm) has a 5-shot revolver inside it, for nasty surprises. For those occasions when some tact may be needed, he carries a sap with him.

Attributes: He's a trained special forces medical doctor, so obviously he's good at healing and hurting people. He can administer IVs in the dark, though unlit night surgery is somewhat beyond him. When it comes to shooting, he doesn't do well at long range, but he can hit a 3 by 5 inch card within 10 metres of him, whether he's drunk, tired, caught in the rain or hanging upside down from a ceiling. His accuracy isn't perfect, but he is an excellent combat shooter. He is also qualified to handle chemical and biological weapons; he knows what they can do and how to protect against them. Like most SEALs he can dive, throw himself out of a perfectly good aircraft, and outdrink a platoon of Army boys.

Weaknesses: In certain ways, he is a perfectionist. Though he doesn't mind people goofing off, heaven help those who screw up their job while doing it. In addition, he is a shop-a-holic - on overseas exercises his team often reserves an extra crate "for the Doc's stuff".

Temperament: Brad is gruff to outsiders but he reveals his jovial, friendly side to his comrades. Being that he usually has to stare death in the face, he adopts a wise-cracking, devil-may-care attitude to life, and he is utterly intolerant of people who don't know anything about his work trying to tell him what to do, as well as stupidity. He is highly dedicated to whatever he does, and once he starts doing something, attempts to talk to him usually meet with silence or "Shut the fuck up, I'm busy."

Bio: Brad was born in the US and migrated to Singapore, and he started out as any other Singaporean kid, driven to study, eventually managing to get into medical school. However, he didn't disrupt his conscription term, choosing instead to go with his posting into the Commandos after his BMT. It was there that he learned the value of teamwork and good buddies. After he finished his conscription term of 2 1/2 years, he got his M.D. in the US and decided to join the Navy SEALs (he had a dual citizenship and he chose the US side). He managed to get into SEAL Team 6, where he met up with the other members of this thread. As a captain, he is usually found at the base medical center cursing his men to greater heights of proficiency. Otherwise, he's at bases throughout the country greasing the skids, trying to make sure that there's an efficient medical system ready for use by whatever team he's a part of.

Quote: " You're like a goddamn lemming, the way you run into these firefights! Believe me, if the enemy doesn't kill you, *I* will! "

Extra: Feel free to change the details if you need. He speaks fluent English, Chinese, Russian and Arabic, as well as passable French, German and Spanish.

I'd like to clarify that although my character is the pilot/driver/hijacker, he still goes in with the tam on missions. He's not the guy that flies the insertion helicopter/truck/plane, whatever. He serves as the getaway driver, or he'll hijack vehicles to cause diversions or something liek taking out a wall (if he steals a tank). The tank part might only happen if things went really bad on a mission, though. That and he also serves as a generic combat soldier/pointman.

Darth SS
