Greetings! Questions on Black Mage Stabbity Death!

Greetings! This is my first post here, but hopefully not my last one! I come today, though, in the spirit of asking for help:

Our roleplaying group, engage in a fine campaign of D&D 3.5 has decided to take a break from the regular campaign so our DM can playtest his old AD&D 2nd Ed campaign: The Haunting of Cliffside Keep. Great module. I played it under the old AD&D rules. Now the thing is, I am the ONLY one in the group who has played! So rather then waste my time with some well thought out character concept when RPing will be pointless cause I know everything, my DM has agreed to let me twink out.

With one condition.

I have to be first level.

Seriously.

And a hamster (Ok thats not so serious).

So I have decided, what the heck?! I'll play a version of Black Mage. :bmage: With the cool hat and robes of course! :) And I have some thoughts on what I need to do, but I thought I would come to the home of Twinking to see what you do, and if all else fails, I'll send an email to Red Mage, cause he is just the uncontested master of all things Twink related.

Any and all thoughts are welcome! Just have to be 1st level. thats the challange. I also don't want to tell you about the campaign cause i'm afraid that if I design the character with preknowledge it just won't be as fun for me to play.

Sorcerer Twink or Wizard Twink acceptable. Classes from other books are acceptable. I just need sources.

first level? why not make yourself a solar? its only a 20 level adjustment, but your technically level 1 for the first 20 levels! WHEE! Insta-death to all things evil! Ok, so not quite insta.. close enough though!

In all seriousness, AD&D and 3.0 are WAY different. Get a PHB and start all over.

edit: oh, and its not "twink" its tweak..

I think the DM wants us taking standard races :) I should have mentioned that.... no ECL.

Just some background flavor: our campaign is set in a world that draws a lot on the folklore and history of Eastern Europe. From the Balkans to the Baltics and also Russia to the Urals. Just so you have a sense of what the world looks like. if it helps :)
