This is it..the discussion thread. The RP thread will be up as soon as I have copied down the discriptions of the chars. that you guys have posted and blend it with the first post I have readied.
Edit: And I already said no to the Gerudo thing. She would have killed him. Even if she loved him, she would still have hated him enough to kill him as he is a man and beneath her. She would have thought that men are the cause of all problems.
Dragonsbane
05-26-2004, 06:33 PM
maybe he ran away before he could kill her? Of course, it's just a thought.......he could have sneaked away while she was still asleep or something......this is just a thought, you probably know more about Gerudo than I do.
Wait, no, he couldn't have had time to learn THAT much from her in a single night....
IHateMakingNames
05-26-2004, 06:35 PM
That, and again with the hunting down and being killed thing.
Dragonsbane
05-26-2004, 06:40 PM
would she really care THAT much? I agree, there is no way he would have time to learn the entire Karma Sutra from her, but would she really feel so obligated to hunt him down after being banished from her clan?
IHateMakingNames
05-26-2004, 06:43 PM
I don't think Gerudo ban... If they did ban one of their own members, they probably kill them.
And a normal women hates a guy who sleeps with her and leaves without a word, this is a warrior women.
Elminster_Amaur
05-26-2004, 06:52 PM
Well, even if he had had a one night stand with a Gerudo, he would not have been able to master the entire Karma Sutra that night.
Funka Genocide
05-26-2004, 06:58 PM
the Kama Sutra thing was just a joke, but I really like the idea of a love interest for my character being a dangerous warrior woman. If he is supposed to have the ability to change the world through communism surely changing a single woman's mind would not be out of his influence? I always like to rp with the idea that my character is someone who will be great someday. Why else would I devote time to a fictional character? If he was just average he would be me. I understand if you don't want to allow it though, I was just trying to add some interest to my character. I can still play though right?
and as a side note, I've known a few women who weren't overly concerned with a one night stand. Women are human too, its just our culture that makes them feel they are being used, and thusly bitter.

How about a Zora chick?
Forever Zero
05-26-2004, 07:05 PM
An average man doing extrodinary things is far more impressive then an extrodinary man doing ordinary things. You average guy doesn't have to have some extrodinary wife to be an interesting character, it is his actions and interactions that prove his worth.
And a Zora chick? A bit out of his species, no? Are they even biologically capable with those outside their species?
Funka Genocide
05-26-2004, 07:13 PM
I didn't want her to be a wife, even fictionally I'm afraid of commitment! And I thought that one Zora chick in Ocarina of Time was pretty cute, but the whole anatomical inconsistency thing would probably preclude such things, so nevermind. I'll just have to score with a Gerudo chick while playing.
Forever Zero
05-26-2004, 07:14 PM
Great, we are never going to get the Gerudo on our side after that... I see many bomb arrows and poison gas potions will be needed to get us out of that mess when the time comes...
Dragonsbane

which means no scoring on Gerudo chicks.........
IHateMakingNames
05-26-2004, 07:17 PM
Well, the Gerudo the (manupulation) servents of Ganondorf, an ally of yours, so they might not kill you instantly when you step on their lands... If your lucky. Though, I wouldn't expect much from them, seeing as even they would probably be suspicious if their leader suddenly told them to let a large group of men to roam around their lands as they please.
Funka Genocide
05-26-2004, 07:17 PM
yeah, i should remember to stock up on bomb arrows, definitely! This is really helping me to flesh out my character in my mind. We'll just have to see how much trouble I can get everyone into (and safely out of) before somebody drops rat poison in my screw driver. (I don't usually drink vodka straight)
Forever Zero
05-26-2004, 07:19 PM
Hmm... Thinking of the OoT map, where is our first destination? The stables for some horses and faster transportation? And then where? There is only one other good sized town we could go to try and convert before we start getting into the hair of groups like the Guado and the Zora...
Elminster_Amaur
05-26-2004, 07:23 PM
It is suggested to just leave Ganondorf's land alone, and go for the other areas of Hyrule. And if you guys just go on and interact with the people however you feel like it, I will go ahead and let you do whatever, just so long as there is no god-modding. I'll tell you the general reaction of the populous, and any random events along the way will be dictated by me. Lon-lon Ranch is about the only of Ganondorf's lands that you guys will be interested on entering, so go there to contact him, or to a local temple that has been conveniently infested by his Darkness.
Edit: There is more to the land than just the towns on the maps, but only one major city for each race, with minor groups of each race(probably outcasts) in other areas. Just tell me if you are going to a MAJOR town, and the path will be the same as on the game, but the walls of Hyrule Field are TREES, so there are probably small encampments of each race(Except Zora: These are all in the waters) in the woods.
Dragonsbane
05-26-2004, 07:23 PM
horses would be good...........unless I can somehow convince a dragon to let me ride it (yeah right!).
I say we go get horses..........and I have faith in our ability to convert the Gerudo.

So, where would my wolf start?
Also, DB... If you are going to use ellipses all the time, at least use them right. It's three periods (...), not just a bunch.
Also, seeing as none of you are magical, I doubt that you have any sort of special arrows.
Forever Zero
05-26-2004, 08:29 PM
I assume he would start in the castle, since I assume that is where Link and Zelda are. I also assume you wouldn't be all out hunting us yet since we were exiled, but we don't have warrents or death sentences...
EDIT: Joseph can create Bomb Arrows, but he hasen't yet so that will come later once we have a base of operations and a place Jospeh can work in peace.

IHMN, since Link often wanders around, you can be where ever you see fit that Link would be in the earliest venture from the Temple of Light. Although, I'd prefer it if Link came to Lon-lon Ranch just as the group leaves with some horses, so as to get a good look at them.
Funka Genocide
05-26-2004, 10:20 PM
I justt wanted to state a few character concepts here, concerning NPC interaction. My character is very "sidekickish" he is not the type to initiate a conversation with important people, or to be the "face" of the group. except in the case of important female interaction, in which case he will probably take the lead.
IHateMakingNames
05-26-2004, 10:22 PM
Do I always have to be with Link?
Forever Zero
05-26-2004, 10:24 PM
Question, are we already allied with Ganondorf now, or is it just very likely we will end up allied with Ganondorf?
Elminster_Amaur
05-26-2004, 10:26 PM
Not if he tells you to do something. In fact, if he sees the group and considers them "suspicious", that would be a good reason for you to follow them in secret. Of course, your intelligence level is not as high as an average citizen, but definitely higher than a "village idiot", except when it comes to hunting, since you are a dire wolf. I'm giving you the first power you will have, and I'm going to randomly assign them to you throughout the course of this to balance you out with the group. You can communicate with Link telepathically, as long as both of you are concious and in Hyrule. If either of you leave Hyrule, or if Link goes back to the past(which has to happen occasionally), you can no longer talk to him, and must go on your last order for the five or so minutes that will elapse between his dropping the sword and picking it up.
Edit: Ganondorf is aware of you, and has made contact with the group, but as Hyrule Town even allowed you in, he hasn't made your alliance public. But Lon-lon Ranch man knows that you a group of people will probably make their way to him, and ask for help for "the cause."
Forever Zero
05-26-2004, 10:30 PM
Got it. I will use that in negotiations later then...
IHateMakingNames
05-26-2004, 10:31 PM
Puh, my wolf can easily track/hunt the group without being detected.
Also, as the RP goes on, will Link be doing the quest like he does in the game? So first the forest temple would be done and a new deku tree would sprout? Then the Gorons, then Zoras, and so forth?
Elminster_Amaur
05-26-2004, 10:33 PM
You went in that order? I went to Zoras first, then Gorons, then Deku tree.
And yes, you have superior tracking skills.
IHateMakingNames
05-26-2004, 10:36 PM
You can go out of order?
But why would you not do Deku tree first? You get the bow there. The bow. That's the best item you get.
Anyway, will Link be doing the things he does in the game, giving the communist a time limit to convert?
Dragonsbane
05-26-2004, 10:37 PM
Yes........but stay far enough away that Alexi or Dmitri don't decide to have a nice plump dire wolf for dinner, and start reaching for their longbows......
side note, I get to take the lead in some of the "female interactions" too! Chicks dig a guy in armor!
Forever Zero
05-26-2004, 10:39 PM
What if we undo what Link does? Say... We go to the forest, and burn down the new Deku Tree... If we slowed down Link's mission, would that buy us more time to "Convert the Masses!"?
IHateMakingNames
05-26-2004, 10:39 PM
And I say bring it. A dire wolf alone could take any normal person, and even trained people. Wolf is a pumped up dire wolf.
Edit - I don't think you can just 'burn down' a magically god tree thingy... The big tree only died because evil corrupted him from the inside, and this new tree has a sage protecting him.
Elminster_Amaur
05-26-2004, 10:39 PM
I'll say yes. But the towns aren't empty, like Zora's Domain being frozen over and Goron cave-thing just plain deserted. None of that.
And all I would do is go get important items, and then beat the temples backwards...yea, I know I'm odd.
Funka Genocide
05-26-2004, 10:40 PM
I've got a policy with animals, they leave me alone I leave them alone, or in the case of dire animals "you stay the hell away from me and I run like a scared little forest elf if you come near me" just saying..
Forever Zero

I don't think you can just 'burn down' a magically god tree thingy... The big tree only died because evil corrupted him from the inside, and this new tree has a sage protecting him.
I find that any problem can be solved by the careful application of explosives... And perhaps we should make these Sages disappear for allying with the Capitalist cause, hmm?
Elminster_Amaur
05-26-2004, 10:44 PM
IHMN you can't take down the entire group tho.
And you aren't very smart, and wouldn't dare attack without Link's permission, as that is what the Great Ferier ordered of you.
And DB's char. bears a strong resemblance to Fighter.
Edit: FZ, there will be no killing of the Sages.
IHateMakingNames
05-26-2004, 10:46 PM

Right...if you are referring to FZ, then remember that the "things" that his char. does involves explosives.
Dragonsbane
05-26-2004, 10:52 PM
actually, Dmitri is a bit smarter than Fighter.....and has proficiency with more weapons than just swords and sword-chucks.....but combat-prowess-wise, yes.
Is there any chance of me getting my sword enchanted by Ganondorf to be a more powerful weapon? Perhaps as a sign of faith and to help seal our alliance?
Forever Zero
05-26-2004, 10:54 PM

I think fighter is the best 8-bit character of them all! and relevant to this post I think the introduction of sword chuckery would greatly improve role playing enjoyment.
