Two months since the last comic? Yeah, that's not going to happen again. Enjoy the new one (http://www.nuklearpower.com/2009/10/23/warbot_011-crosswalk/)!

It's okay, Meister. It's not that bad.

I can be a brave guy but I'm scared right now as I'm about to read it.
The very word Crosswalk horrifies me.

;981751']I bet that cat's name is Charlie.
It didn't eat the bus, so probably not.
I really liked this one. There was all the buildup, there was such a sense of tension, and there's the feeling of it happening so fast. I like it.
Also, damn but Warbot can move.

I Found this to be a happy guilt free laugh thinking of warbot who i view as a giant slow machine lumbering into the crosswalk at 3 to 4 miles per hour to save the little kitty... and the bus not to hit the breaks...
Then i actualy think about it and the sad Guilt thing grabs at my stomach and makes me hate myself in a non depressing but still just plan wrong way...
Thanks

I had much of the same reaction.
I daresay that anyone who has followed this comic...heck, even has the basic premise of this comic down...thought much the same thing.

So when Warbot accidentally kills people while trying to fit into human society everyone just blows it off - but when Warbot actually does something good and saves the day he becomes the victim.
You are all evil, evil I tell you.

I agree, this was the happiest Warbot ever! I felt genuinely warm and fuzzy.
But I didn't mind the lack of sad. If there's any way for a Warbot comic to actually pull off feeling happy, this is the appropriate way to do so.
And what can society really do to punish Warbot more than what it's already done, anyway? ...we're about to find out though, aren't we?

My home town paper is 50 cents, as is the paper of the three towns nearest that are big enough to have a paper.
Well, except on Sunday then it's $1.25.

After reading that comic I feel... relieved actually. I really REALLY thought Brian was going to have Warbot accidentally kill the kitty. Maybe Brian isn't going to cross that line, whew. But then again... please no! lol
Anyway, all I can say is that "Poor Warbot, at least you did good!"
Also, good job drawing the cat. It looks really good. In fact, it's drawn so well it looks out of place with the cartoon people, lol.

Hey! Don't go ridin' on my coattails, man. I came up with that theory. And if Brian and Zack are the heartless, soulless monsters that they claim to be and every waking second of their lives prove them to be, it will happen.
Fingers crossed!

Loved the panel transitions of the Bus Wheel to Warbot's eye. (I'm assuming that this was intentional as it happened twice!)
This comic could have ended much worse, we Internet people have a soft spots of Cats.

Aye, you and me and everyone else were thinking the same thing.
And yet, we couldn't stop reading..
And besides, it was pretty easy predicting what actually happened. I think that's why I read on.. because I knew it'd either end in the saddest thing, or something fantastic. And that was indeed fantastic.

It is you who is riding on my coat tails.

But on the matter of the current comic, it is pretty amusing how we view final few panels. Warbot is a hero because he saves a stray cat, at the cost of human lives (or possibly just many severe human injuries)? :P That's pretty twisted. Then again, he has killed plenty of people before, so I suppose more human cannon fodder just doesn't have the same impact.

Upon first seeing the panel of the cat it was no doubt Charlie's cameo. Who'd think he could do all of that without a stunt double?
Charlie couldn't be hurt if you think of that, I'm sure through some wheeling and dealing of his lawyers Brian would be in a world of hurt at home if something happened to the cat.
At least as consilation we have a good hunch no one on that bus survived, or suffered in good conscience all for the common good. (Am I not the only one wishing the bus would have blown up on impact with warbot?)
(Also around here on weekdays you can still get a newspaper for 50 cents, just not on sundays.)

Oh my God, I was so terrified something was going to happen to the cat, haha. What does that say about us that people getting hurt/dying right and left is okay but killing the cat would be crossing the line? XD
The cat needs to be a reoccurring character.

I like how no one notices the cat except Warbot even when he pushes people out of the way to get on the street with the cars. Apparently both the bus driver and the newspaper missed it as well. That makes Warbot a superior person who cares for helpless neglected animals. Poor misunderstood superbot.

Or maybe Warbot is so depressed that he's becoming dillusional, to justify his existence.

Yeah, since he accidentally causes pain and destruction all around him anyway, those people on the bus are nothing new. What's amazing is that for once, the actual target of his care and affection DIDN'T meet a horrible fate. The kitty even rubbed his head up against him and showed him some love! This is a truly momentous occurrence, like on a cosmic scale here. I'd say that's worth a couple busloads of meatbag humans. It was so cute even my typing is about to degrade into unintelligible cat-owner speak dawwwwwwww.....!

I'm so glad the cat survived.
Warbot is a Hero.
Just ignore the media, Warbot, everyone knows they lie.
Remember what the newspapers wrote about such great heroes as spiderman?
Yeah, that's what I mean. A human being consists of LOVE and HATE.
They have hate you because you take all the other hatred out of their lives. It's their way of saying "Thank you."
Go! Warbot!

Maybe they are in one of those weird countries where people drive on the left side.
Or it's a fictionalized version of a real country where people would drive on the right but drive on the left to make clear nothing of this is real.
Except Warbot's suffering.
EDIT: heh, I just noticed the guy crossing the road, seemingly unaffected by the bus just crashing into a killer robot, in the panel before the last.

What I like is that there's no way the bus driver could have possibly NOT seen the massive war machine walking through the cross walk in time to stop, or at least slow down enough to not horribly maim all his passengers--yet Warbot gets 110% of the blame.

Garfield minus Garfield strips come to my mind because of that.
And then I start thinking Garfield itself.
Oh boy, how funny.
It's nearly as sad as Warbot minus this strip.

Lol. Now he's on the run. Charlie will help him.
Everything he does procedes to either hurt him or others worse...

Warbot deserved it. He's a robot. He can calculate the potential damage to human lives and property marching in front of a bus can cause.
I say he is on a rampage, putting the value of a cat over the value of not only humans but the larger part of human society!
He's playing the pity card now, but I guarantee that he has suffered more than enough abuse, and these little "miscalculated errors" are going to increase right up until the point where he rewires himself to become a NRPG (Nuklear Rocket Propelled Grenade) and lay waste to his office building.

I'd read a strip where the entire city goes up in a mushroom cloud and the last panel is Warbot sitting in the rubble with a "Did I do that?" look on his optic sensor.
