Well, the first DVD of the new Haruhi season, the one with Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody, sold about 21,000-26,000 (My source varies about how many sold) in its first week. Sales figures were just released for the first DVD of Endless Eight only material...

I can understand why someone wouldn't want to buy a DVD with one episode with some variations.
And hopefully the sales will rise again when Endless Eight is over. So they'll be able to make a third season.
I think they should have split Endless Eight across all DVDs as several people already suggested.

I'm glad they didn't. When it gets localized, I'll be able to avoid buying the Endless Eight discs.

I myself am not sure what I really want. I haven't seen any of the episodes of the new season yet. Even though I consider myself a huge fan of the first season and the novels. So I DO want to see Endless Eight. I'm just not sure if I want to see all of it.

You don't. I mean, the last episode of EE is great. It is absolutely stupendous, and it probably wouldn't have had quite as much effect without all the buildup, but I say watch the first EE, choose one of the middle ones at random, and watch the last one and call it good.

Yeah, hopefully it'll keep drastically dropping, but you've got those fans who buy four or more of every thing even vaguely associated with a show, so I blame them. It's kinda of sad that the first Endless Eight dvd outsold the first Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood DVD.
