So, season one just finished, and despite my expectations to the contrary, the series did not finish up in one season. I am a little frustrated that the current fight has been lasting so long, but episode twelve was so worth it for a number of reasons. It also looks like they spent most of that season's animation budget on episode thirteen, so it doesn't look too shabby. It was funny and awesome and Saten is a goddamn badass creepy motherfucker.

I am also currently thinking that the new Uten is Cruz's sister from the first ep, mostly due to a frame showing her being timed with a related line.

One thing that I really like about this show is how it uses humor in a way that actually affects the plot. Like in episode thirteen when the silent Pretty Girl Squad member whose name I forget talks for that one move and they're so shocked that they breath it in. I must admit that was fairly clever and a great way of using that character's personality trait.

Episode twelve was just great for defying the standard formula by having Cruz actually be useful for like the second time in the whole series, and for half the party dying at the end of the episode.

"I'll pay them back ten times over." Gurren Lagann reference or common saying? I don't know or care!

A lot of fanservice, but that was always a part of the show, and half the time it seems the point of the fanservice is to be ridiculous.

It's the best show about a Lolicon Blue Mage, i'll tell ya that much!

But, yeah, i had watched episodes 1-3, and then decided to wait untill episode 10 to watch them all at once. I did, and it was worth it.

The humour reminds me a lot of Early bleach episodes, but with even more to it. And the characters are likeable... the action is actually passable but that dosen't matter. Everything is so over the top that it's just fun to see... i mean, hearing blade yell "Little Booooooooooooooooooy!" is way better than the actual Fire attack that comes out of it.

Episode fourteen was the best episode so far. I can't decide who had the best paradise, Uchida or Eve. I'm leaning towards Eve but Blade's little, "Save me, Teruyama-san!" was great. I'll even admit that I laughed at Blade's lolicon antics this episode. Being immune on account of being surrounded by girls was just great on so many levels. That and the three sizes. Everyone and their dog should be watching this show, for reals.
