Okay so I am not the kind of guy who enjoys a romantic comedy, which this was pitched to me as when I was to watch it. I figure the genre is a constantly repeating group of ideas that eventually comes around to your very basic ending that everyone can agree with. The person told me I would feel differently from this one. Obviously I didn't believe them.
I was wrong.
The elements of the relationship felt oddly realistic, and while there was comedy there it wasn't the surreal sort of things you typically find in romantic comedies, but actual situations of awkward that on at least one occasion I've had to deal with in a relationship that is shifting in a sour direction...
Of course this all comes down to the ending that really got to me the hardest when it turns out their relationship does not actually repair, and in fact they not only split but stay split.
It reminded me that if I hadn't fucked up on a few serious relationships I wouldn't be such a nice guy now.
Now has anyone else seen it or am I sitting alone here?
