Started watcing Bakemonogatari because it's by SHAFT, and I have to say it's pretty interesting so far, even though I've only watched one episode.

The main character is an ex-vampire who is trying to help a classmate who is weightless and for as little as happened in the first episode it managed an excellent job of keeping my attention.

Very...interesting, shall we say. Kind of reminds me of Darker than Black in the way it's story structure is set up. Absolutely stellar animation though.

For those of you who have yet to see this show: Watch it. It is simply amazing, and although some of the fanservice was kind of ugh, the worst it got it was done for an actual reason related to the plot. It's a perfect blend of supernatural and romantic comedy. The characters are interesting, and even though it has a number of female characters who are attracted to the main character (Who has the same voice actor as Itoshiki Nozomu), it establishes fairly early on that his girlfriend is his girlfriend and that isn't going to change, and reinforces that throughout the series. The protagonist is funny, weird, and absolutely lovable for how good of a guy he is and is always trying to be. There are some spots where I guess they weren't able to finish the animation in time, episodes eight and ten being the worst culprits, but in spite of that it is still an amazing experience and I will gladly watch it all again when it hits DVD.
