I've been going to San Diego Comic-Con since 2006, but I'm not sure I'll be going next year. I mean, part of the problem is that its all the way on the West Coast & that adds up to be some serious cash to plunk down. The other reason is that it tends to land on, or at least around my Grandmother's B-Day, and I'm starting to get concerned about missing that every year.
So I'm wondering if there are any Conventions on the East Coast that come close to SDCC. I did notice New York Comic Con (http://www.nycomiccon.com/), but I'd like to know if there's anything better.
I like SDCC's mix of various media, so keep that in mind. Also, I don't really mind San Diego's huge crouds or long lines, so don't try to sell me on a smaller convention that gives a better ratio of panel to patronage.
Also, if the convention has passed for this year, don't worry. I'm really looking into my options for 2010.
