Well the last two episodes have been full of surprises.
First Hinamori shows up, and just when I'm thinking she'll get a proper fight Allon one punches the both of them.
Then Hisagi and Vice Captain Emo show up, and I'm thinking "Oh lame, the weak women need the may-uns to come save them" and then they get owned.
When Iba showed up, it wasn't surprising when he got Cero'd into next month (possibly literally) but it did set up the expectation that Komamura, who has a giant robot Bankai, would get to fight the giant monster and have a proper fight.
But no! It's Captain-Commander Genocide. Way to kill the suspense in that scene, Tite.

FILLER FUCK YEAH.
No, seriously, in the latest episode of Bleach, Orihime smiles. Only in filler, ladies and gentlemen!
Also Tatsuki taught her Kung Fu or whatever.
But mostly it's about how Cake Eater Kid was emo before he made friends with Ichigo while he (Ichigo) was in the middle of beating up punks. On the first day of high school.
WHY ARE YOU NOT KUNG-FU FIGHTING, INOUE ORIHIME? It is much better than crying.
Where was I? Oh yeah, filler ep. Pretty good, actually.

i heard somewhere that the next year will be filler...
Yes, about 50 something episodes of filler. That does not surprise me considering how close the anime is to the manga. Naruto did about a year and half of filler, and Naruto fillers suck in comparison to Bleach.

Not exactly filler.
There are chapters and parts of the manga that they never used in the Anime, so far, this is one of them. Just a tad... expanded.
Also, Orihime used to smile a lot before the Arrancar Arc!

Other things Orihime used to do a lot before the Arrancar Arc:
Use Miraculous Healing Powers On Own Initiative
Complete Use Of Miraculous Healing Powers Without Getting Goddamn Kidnapped Again
I mean basically the Arrancar Arc is all about how Orihime Inoue is not in any way Kuchiki Rukia.

Yeah, I actually enjoyed this episode. It's a nice reminder of why they're all fighting, a reminder of who the characters are over what they can do in a scrap.

Mafia Mom finally has some genuine douchery to her name, now.

Yeah the fucked up thing with Orihime is that Shitty has actively made her worse so that he can do his arc about how much Orihime sucks. Probably a side consequence of him being so fucking high that he doesn't actually know who he is from week to week let alone who any of his characters are.
It's like back when DC had its Infinite Crisis event where they let Geoff Johns turn the entire DC Universe into a depressing awful shithole just so he could do a whole stupid fucking event where he whines about the DC Universe being a shithole.

Someone hasn't seen the beach funtimes episode.
Not that Orihime does anything good in that ep so much as there are other things to talk about, like how everyone treats Unohana like the Godfather, if the Godfather were an actual god.
Which is I guess kind of related since Inoue's character arc should be moving her towards being a kind of diet Unohana.

the best thing about Bleach fillers is that they don't mind being batshit crazy about it...
Also the fanservice.
sooo much fanservice...
