Teaser Trailer Out (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfsojNtU9yQ), plus a bunch of production stills (http://lastairbenderfilm.com/2009/05/28/hi-res-airbender-photos-released/) and other stuff at the fansite.

I've been at home recently where our cable package has the Nicktoon channel, so I've been watching the older seasons, and the more you watch the animated show the less I think it's possible that a bunch of gangly child actors can believably pull off the martial arts movements. I'm sure Shymalymasham can art up the music and 'tone' all he wants but those fight scenes are probably going to look fairly ridiculous.

Also, I guess from that picture of Zuko leading the Fire Nation soldiers he's the only Indian actor?

The teaser trailer was good enough that I'll give the movie a fair watching before final, biased judgement, but I'm not hopeful. I was a huge Avatar fan so they'll have to pull out some awesome shit to impress me (well, until Book 3, thought that kinda went downhill).

Based on that still of Zuko, I'm mirroring the comments I saw in the comment section and saying his scar is just not big enough. I mean it looked like a fucking skin graft from elephant ass on the show, and it's barely visible on that high resolution still photo.

Also, would Toph even be in the movie? I thought the movie was about Book 1's events.

Oh, Toph's involvement in the thread was solely to further the cause of the pun.

And come to think of it, I'd like to see Season 3 condensed down into a single animated movie. It was arguably the season with the most pressing endgame and yet the pace was straight out of Season 1's Adventure Town format. If you stripped away all of the unnecessary elements (Talking Island From A Time Before Bending, Spizzace Sizword, Adventures With Zuko, etc.) and just made 2 hours of the Gaang getting ready and then ending the war it'd be pretty cool.

And we can't have the scar too big, lest people forget that we're watching the kid from Slumdog Millionaire.

Okay, I just popped in to say that it can't be any worse than the Dragonball movie and that you sir, are a bad man for those horrible, horrible puns.

Oddly, that teaser didn't do much for me. I'm still excited about the movie, but less so now... There wasn't terribly much in it that really sets it apart as an Avatar movie, you could just as easily say it's a movie about a kid with a staff and he does kung fu and hey, he can blow out candles, kind of like Kung Fu Hustle, and I guess some bad guys want to kill him?

Maybe it's that voiceover, it bothers me. Was it really necessary?

Throughout the entire thing I kept waiting for the true end, where after all the purple prose and talk of destiny the kid cosplaying Aang attempts some wild flip move and just falls on his back with a goofy look on his face, since that would have been a way to acknowledge the series opening and assuage the fans that Shyzzam was actually aware of what he was adapting.

You could see it? I can't. Oh wait, there it is... it really needs to be more easily visible. The scar is Zuko's defining feature, after all. The only other gripe I have with Zuko's appearance is the lack of his topknot. He didn't grow his hair out until season 2. On the other hand, the Aang design is pretty sweet. I don't really see much to complain about there.

I thought about making a thread, but figured it was just a teaser, and therefore, not an accurate picture of much.

Still, might as well voice my opinions.

The staff skills are pretty sweet and the Fire Nation Navy looks good.

I do wish Zuko looked a bit more like Zuko, but I'm going to wait and see how it looks when they release something with a bit more substance. Specifically, maybe they were worried about the scar looking cheesy and toned it down. I'm reservering judgement until I see a clip of Zuko yelling. (I'd say speaking, but 3/4s of season 1 is Zuko yelling.)

I knew that after people saw it in theaters for Transformers 2 there'd be a thread the next day, but it probably wouldn't have a pun in the title. Speaking of which, I have received very little rep for those great puns!!

After seeing that they cast a ten year old for Haru (http://lastairbenderfilm.com/2009/06/09/exclusive-haru-is-that-you/), I've got this weird image in my head that this movie is being made by like thirteen different departments playing a game of Telephone with each other.

Could also be the young version of King Bumi.

Still, I can't wait to see the teaser on the big screen.
