View Full Version : What's With Brian And Robots?
Seriously - WARBOT, Atomic Robo, most of Red Mage's plans... It's like Brian's got robots on the brain.
Really, jeez. (http://www.nuklearpower.com/2001/07/16/episode-056-hey-its-almost-like-the-plot-is-moving-now/)

He's like those Marvel superheroes that are emo-esquely afraid that their own powers/whatever will destroy the ones that they love.
Except his power is to turn people into anti-social cave trolls. Robots are immune to this effect, for obvious reasons, and so they are his only true friends.

Brian wants to explore the overlooked and tragic role of robots in our society.
Also, one time while talking about Atomic Robo, he said it wasn't about a robot, but about a character that lives for a long time and can see things changing around him.
Warbot seems to be about an outsider trying to fit into mainstream society and gain acceptance. And failing.

Of course. I thought everyone knew that.
I mean, Warmech in 8BT was pretty obviously an author stand-in.

He sold his soul for writing inspiration.
I just happened to be thinking of robots at the time.

Like all of your other questions, the answer can be found in "about:robots" Seil.

No no no, you see, Brian is a robot.
Oh, and here I thought he was just trying to ingratiate himself with our inevitable shiny new metal overlords.
No no no, you see, Brian is a robot.
This makes total sense. His twiggy outer shell caused him to be rejected by robotkind and in shame he glorifies them in hopes of one day being accepted.

To answer the question: I think robots are neat and I was tired of seeing the same two robot protagonists in every mainstream product: The Data or The Bender.

The man has a robot fetish. Let him get his kicks however he wants.
