View Full Version : Paranormal Research discussion #1

So, here is the discussion.

Things to discuss.

Type 3's tend to be "Shot until it stops moving", though if it's an ancient evil the geeks may have some knowledge on it.

Also, for next chapter, everyone can make up what the base looks like (Because I don't want to) and some NPCs (The geeks can even make up a female base geek they can hit on). First person to make up a paranormal person/creature gets to make the one paranormal person/creature I'll let you guys make up.

Woohoo, hot female base geek!

Well, I don't know what you have planned, but how about a Psychic human with powers like Telekinesis, but also things like mind reading and ESP?

IHateMakingNames

Make him with a little bio and he exist.

(Repost)

1 NPC per person (Generic guards and such don't count).

Edit - And the NPC person is just for base staff and such, and I don't want to make them up.

Also, no one is using any Hellboy type pistols right (I really haven't read any of those bios...).

(Repost dos)

Changed the type thing. Now it's type 3 (Ancient evil) or type 5 (Giant mutation). You don't have to go edit that in your post, but from now on keep that in mind.

Yeah, she's gotta at least be a hot geek. Or else what's the point?

And if you really go through with that, FZ, expect stiff competition.

On second thought, I really should have used a different adjective there.

What are types 1, 2, and 4?

IHateMakingNames
04-18-2004, 05:17 PM
I make these up as I go along. There may be 200 types if I can think of that many.

You'd need to have waaay to much free time to think of that many...

My guy's gun isn't hellboy-ish.

But since he's made the caliber higher, he's been able to make some specialty rounds. They won't make as big holes as Hellboy's though.

Best he can do is half that, and that's with the explosive rounds.

Maybe not even that.

StormRider
04-18-2004, 05:44 PM
Does your character have a bullet fetish of some kind? He seemed to be almost gleeful as he sorted through his ammo supply. The white oak tie-in made me chuckle, though.

RangerAidan
04-18-2004, 05:45 PM
ha.

IHateMakingNames
04-18-2004, 05:45 PM
Oh, vampires are extinct by the way. They all died in the vampire hunts/witch hunts.

Darth SS
04-18-2004, 05:47 PM
That's oddly convenient. We're gonna' run into one, aren't we?

Anyways (To Storm)

He's custom built his gun. And the fac there's so many different types of ammunition he can shoot stuff with is making him kinda' childish,

IHateMakingNames
04-18-2004, 05:48 PM
You will, but Vincent is the vamp you will run into (So you don't shoot it).

Darth SS
04-18-2004, 05:54 PM
Notice that I took a Garlic clip?

Really, it's just in case.

Since all of the questions have been answers, should I skip us to the truck ride, or to the canyon?

StormRider
04-18-2004, 06:26 PM
SuperSaiyan, who is Kal? I saw the name mentioned in one of your posts, is he your NPC?

RangerAidan
04-18-2004, 06:26 PM
Truck ride, about a minute before we get dropped off

Forever Zero
04-18-2004, 06:26 PM
Sure, my guy is still going through options, and will spout off a list of options at some point during the truck ride or canyon. I don't care which.

IHateMakingNames
04-18-2004, 06:28 PM
SuperSaiyan, who is Kal? Is he your NPC?

He is just getting his RP characters mixed up.

And as mentioned before, the NPCs are base only.

StormRider
04-18-2004, 06:28 PM
Oh good. I thought I missed something.

IHateMakingNames
04-18-2004, 06:36 PM
SS, you're the FBI guy, play your character a little more professionally...

Darth SS
04-18-2004, 07:13 PM
But he isn't professional.

He can act like a real hardass if need be, but in actuality he's not likely to ever act super professional.

Unless he's on camera. Or, he needs to show someone where the line is.

Past that...lets say he never really grew up during University.

OOC: Wasn't Vincent a vampire?

My world, my vampires.

I prefer shape shifting vampires over bat transformations, so Vincent can shape shift.

04-18-2004, 08:33 PM
Fair enough.

God Damnit! I was out all day and missed the startup!

StormRider

So join up before the next mission when we return to the base.

Forever Zero
04-18-2004, 09:08 PM
Or you could just have been silent before now and now you pipe up. I do that if I get behind in an RP.

Got it covered.

Darth SS
04-18-2004, 09:16 PM
Someone....someone handle this.

I think IHMN would be ideal....but...

Grappling hooks by your wrist? What are you, Batman?

Actually, I hope you are because with our luck, we'll need a kryptonite plunger to take this thing down.

IHateMakingNames
04-18-2004, 09:17 PM
A grappling hook that is small enough for a wrist? Either your wrist would break, or the line would break.

slightly aboveaverage man
04-18-2004, 09:18 PM
Hey, it was cleared in my bio. check page one of signup. IHMN said nothing, so I assumed it was fine. all he said was no melee weapons. last time I checked, grappling hooks are current technology.

I only got one if I'm suprised by superman in the bathroom.
(or BATroom!)

*badoom Ching!*

Edit: the Hooks are connected to gauntlets, which are connected to a form of bodysuit under his clothing. all shock is absorbed by the entire body/suit, thus reducing the risk of wrist breakage. also the line is not a rope, it is a metalic cable.

IHateMakingNames
04-18-2004, 09:19 PM
I skimmed the bios. I guess I missed that. So no on the wrist grappling hooks. You can have large grappling hooks that you have to carry around if you want, but no wrist.

Kay. Editing bio.

IHateMakingNames
04-18-2004, 09:23 PM
And just change your post to you were with the group the entire time.

Done.

It wasn't 7 foot wide footsteps, it was a long trail of a 7 foot wide thing.

Foot steps = -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_

Trail = _______________________

Forever Zero
04-19-2004, 08:10 PM
Ahhhh, I misunderstood. That actually leaves some of those options in. I'll edit my post.

StormRider
04-19-2004, 09:47 PM
To what extent do my abilities reach? For instance, could I cast some sort of spell that softened the creature's shell to the point where bullets would kill it?

IHateMakingNames
04-19-2004, 09:48 PM
You can't do that.

You could however make a magical light to illumiate the area and help the shooters.

Darth SS
04-19-2004, 11:35 PM
SAAM, you have a very bad grasp of what a grappling hook is, don't you?

slightly aboveaverage man
04-19-2004, 11:37 PM
Typo. my bio calls for a grappling claw. almost a spear like weapon.

StormRider
04-19-2004, 11:40 PM
Well, that helps us a shitload. Especially since SS has those night-vision goggles, and if I created light, he'd be rendered blind.

Darth SS
04-19-2004, 11:41 PM
I repeat my earlier comment.

You do know that a grappling hook is a piece of rope attached to a big metal claw, don't you? And the claw catches between rocks, and you manually pull yourself up.

It's actually impossible to fire in, at least not in something easily portable.

slightly aboveaverage man
04-19-2004, 11:44 PM
the retracting involves a winch, loaded into the gun from which the claw fires. read the bio, I also stated that it was not in fact a rope, it was a cable.

Darth SS
04-19-2004, 11:53 PM
Obviously one hell of a winch. To pull that fast, and be that small...

slightly aboveaverage man
04-19-2004, 11:55 PM
It is one hell of a winch. Canadian technology at it's finest. :D

J Man
04-20-2004, 12:15 AM
Like batman's grappling hook?

slightly aboveaverage man
04-20-2004, 12:20 AM
think larger, like say fired from a rifle, with a 25cm wide winch, about 25 cm in diameter, located near the rear of the gun.

IHateMakingNames

Start searching or something. This chapter should be done by now (You won't find anything, most likely will leave and have search teams look around, they will find nothing).

04-22-2004, 04:29 PM
You guys'll tell me when mission two starts right?

RangerAidan
04-22-2004, 04:31 PM
Chapter 2's thread should be up soon, just read that, it should be starting with that, anyways.

IHateMakingNames
04-22-2004, 05:09 PM
Actaully, Mission 2 will take a while now since you've all decided to stay in the Canyon, I changed the story a little.

RangerAidan
04-22-2004, 05:11 PM
I'm trying to cast an absentee ballot to leave.
