Trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIpZxBczWUg)

This looks pretty awesome. A lot more epic than I'd normally expect from a CG animation of that style, but it's looking dark and badass. I want it.

OH IT IS COMING OUT ON 9-9-09 MAN I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING

Looks really interesting, and if anything the trailer definitely makes me want to Wiki exactly what the hell happened to make the world such a shit hole. I'll probably see it.

Yeah, gimmick dates irritate me, too. Either it's being postponed so it can be on that date, or it's being rushed so it can be on that date. Both suck.

It's always rushed to make the date. Always. It would be nice if they actually completed a thing early and was able to polish it before releasing, just once, but I can't even imagine that happening.

I have this feeling in the back of my mind that they went in with the proposal for this movie and the funders saw the title, planned release date, and Tim Burton's name and said, "Awesome! Here's some money; go down to the animator studio and play."

It's based on a nice little animated short (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DE4qHy0RruA&fmt=18). It's only about 10 minutes long, so I recommend watching it. It's got a rather unique atmosphere to it, especially uncommon in animated films, so I'm looking forward to it and hoping it's good.

Wow, that actually looks pretty good. I've never really liked, well, anything of Tim Burtons before, but this has me interested.

*Goes and looks it up on wiki*

The director's the Wanted dude, which is nice, because he has a brilliant visual eye.
See, this is what the Coraline movie needs to look like. Not that cartoony bullshit.

So very, very excited for this film.

Did I just watch Little Big Fallout?

Still, it looks pretty different and a crack at something original, so on the list it goes!

OMG DREAMCAST 2 AM CONFIRMED

Wait, wrong forum.

Looks interesting, although I'm not entirely sure the use of metal fits the premise.

Boo to you, sir.

Oh, come on. The Coraline trailer was too bright, and you all know it.

No.

No, it wasn't. Things don't have to be gritty and moody all the time. I for one thought the illumination made for a better contrast of the outerwordly atmosphere. It looks more surreal than either The Corpse Bride or The Nightmare Before Christmas did.

I totally agree that things don't always need to be dark. However, the book goes out of its way to describe the other world as bleak and drab. They should have stuck to the sketchy look of the illustrations.

Mind you, I'm still psyched for it, I just think it should look darker.

Hey, back on topic! This movie has an awesome cast! John C. Riley wins.

I hate almost all Tim Burton film's but this and Coraline have intrigued me. This definitely looks like something I will see in the theaters.

Did I just watch Little Big Fallout?

Yeah, my first reaction was "wait, is this a video game?". Looks interesting, though, and at least it's not yet another bad movie based on a book.
