View Full Version : Wolverine Movie Redux: Now with more exploding claws.
Well, Fifth closed the big Wolverine vs Gambit talk thread before I had a chance to post this there, so here it is here instead.
Just so everyone is aware, Gambit is not at all threatend by Wolverine. Unfortunatly, most movie people don't read the comics they are making movies out of. Expect this not to happen in the upcomming Wolverine movie.

Again, Popularity Power.
Ooh! No wait, I've got it, Wolverine's a WWF wrestler gone to comics!

speaking of Wolverine power, what level is his regeneration at now? Last I checked he only healed faster then normal, IE a broken bone would still take a few days. Though that was a good decade ago and I heard they greatly overexagerated it since then
Again, Popularity Power.Gambit's pretty popular. Granted he's not been poster-boy for all things rediculous for the last decade or two, but he's got a pretty decent fanbase.

Wolverine's healing power is through the roof now. In Civil War he was actually blown to pieces and reformed.

I just wanted to say that if Wolverine's claws really did explode that would actually be kind of awesome.
I just wanted to say that if Wolverine's claws really did explode that would actually be kind of awesome.Well it was most certainly threatened. He backed down because he knew how his fans would react to him losing his signature silliness.
So instead he got fed a mouth full of exploding staff.

So who wants to bet that Wolvie meets young Magneto during his WW flashback?
Obviously Wolverine rescues a young Magneto from the concentration camp.

Have the directors/producers of the X-Men movies actually come out and said they haven't read the comics, or is this just speculation?
I would imagine they do some comic readin'.
Edit: Okay I can believe the whatshisface that did X3 probably relied on poorly written Wiki pages and word of mouth.

No I mean if they exploded regularly, just as one of his powers. So instead of the usual *snikt!**stabby* you'd have like *snikt!**stabby**BOOM!*

The exploding claws are Black Mage's gift to him, for loving him in ways he's never been loved before.

ok this is gonna sound like over-analysing, but how exactly are his claws anatomically. Are they attatched to something or are they just kinda floating there. For that matter if his claws are longer then his hands how does he store them inside his body

I think the non-bone claw concept is that when they're not in use the claws retract fully into Wolverine's forearms. I remember reading that when the claws are extended Wolverine can't bend his wrists, but I'm not sure how that would work.
I'd imagine they're supposed to be attached to whatever mechanism makes them move.

His thoughts control them, They hurt everytime he "pulls" them out. And remember when Magneto yanked them out?
I think they were bonded to his skeletal structure or even in place of it.

Honestly even beyond being all XTREEEME like Fifth said the bone claws are pretty stupid.
It's like okay yeah in the wild a creature like a wolverine totally shoots claws that are stored in his arms, they're called Barakas and they're indigenous to MortalKombatLand. I know Wolverine is just a nickname but damn.
Plus I'm pretty sure they've shown the mechanical workings of the claws in his skeleton several times and they never were muscle-controlled.

I know eh, it's so unrealistic. Next they'll be trying to convince me there's a spiderMAN. Not a spider, not a man, but a man who is also a spider in some way, shape, or form!

You haven't read Spider-Man: The Other, have you?
Because that's pretty much what happens in it.

Shia LaBeouf is involved in a movie adaptation of Y: The Last Man. He's been quoted as saying the production crew has "Read the comics", although they have been "Not very impressed with it" past issue 20 or so.
Just a brief glimpse of how seriously those movie folks take the adaptation business.
Also, that thing in Civil War where Wolverine was blasted clean off his adamantium bones? He recovered in seconds.

Wolverine is cool in all but his recovery powers are just stupid crazy now. I hope It's not insanely quick in the up coming movie.

A lot of people weren't that impressed with Y past issue 20 or so.
Though in fairness that does leave the question of why these people are producing a movie based on said comic, given their membership in that group.

They are doing it because they know the licence alone will get people in the theaters no matter how much it sucks

Videogame movies share that same paradox, I think.

Well remember when he got shot in the head in the last movie? He healed up and popped the bullet out of his skull in what? Less than 30 seconds?

And let's face it, not many people are going to accept monkey poop as a valid reason why he survived.
