The 11th Hour

The Mentalist

CSI - Las Vegas (can we still add it in?)

House

Im sure there is more. But these are the ones i recall right now... remember when it was a trend to do a series about chicks and ghosts, and we got Ghost Whisperer and Medium? Then we got CSI and that spawned like.. what? 15 shows?

Well, now it seems that the trend are shows about Male genius that are... quirky.

Are these shows really smart? Good plots? Good characters? What about these new trends on Television?

Not since fans forced the altered beginning to Season 9 or whatever and then Sara left anyway.

Procedurals have been around for a long time. This is hardly a new trend. Fuck, Law & Order is in it's 19th season, and it's still no where near the first show of it's kind.

Also, I wouldn't put Fringe in this category, but with the recent upsurge of prime-time Sci-Fi shows, like Lost and Heroes.

when i call it "Trend" i mean more like a show that spawns another show just like it because "that's what's sellin". Like the whole Mentalist X Eleventh Hour deal (both are actually pretty good... but 11th's Opening sequence is as catchy as 24's )

Yes, but you called it a new trend. It is not a new trend. That was my point.

Really, the more recent upsurge in Sci-Fi shows is the new trend.
