This is a thread for basiclu whatever is coming on 2009 that might not be in your radar... but mostly i wanted to post about this.

Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas.
A new OVA Series from the Saint Seiya Franchise (based on the new manga) is coming on DVD only formats in 2009. A new animation team is onboard, and they will keep the new artstyle as well.
It's great news, as Saint Seiya is actually a fairly interesting show ( It's dragonbll with Greek mythology really...) they had release a new OVA series telling the only Saga that never made out of the Manga, the Hades Story arch (the last one)

The first 13 Episodes are absolutly fantastic and i suggest anyone who has never seen it to go find them. They are really great... but the follow up......... not so much.

Masami Kurumada (author) screwed with his own master work, and manage to kill his own budget for the sequel to the original 13 Ovas. So, what we got is at best a power point presentation with some animation in for good measure. Sucks so bad i couldnt actually watch it to the end.
There is also the last movie (Heaven Chapter: Overture), which is great if you can turn off your brain and dont care for the fact that it makes little to no sense at all...
Lost Canvas on the other hand is great, because, first, it will have proper Budget. Secondly, they hired a better animation team. And thirdly, it tells a fresh story. a Prequel if you will... telling the War between hades and athena hundreds of years prior to the main series.
I look foward to it! Specially because the new art is way better than the original and in this version the Gold Saint of Taurus dosent suck, even though im Aquarius :D
