I just got a book today that seems like that. It's a novel and it has over 1300 pages to it....

Just take care of character introductions (since IHMN hasn't officially joined the group yet. maybe he will when the face worms attack) and such. I shouldn't be gone for TOO long.

Do you guys want me to have the insanity of my guy be often, or not very often (I was planning on the latter)?

And if your curious (If not, oh well, I don't care), the reasons for random insanity is that after he absorbs people, the minds/memories stay with him unless he removes them. Every now and then he will forget about them completely, or miss a little bit when removing them. After a while of being stuck in the corner of his mind, the memories/other minds will pop out. That, and his mind has been infected because he's been absorbing people for a while.

Edit - I can't be me, he said he got stepped on in the middle of the group. My guy is not near the group.

Curse of Lawn Gnome - A spell that summons lawn gnomes. Which is a curse in and of itself since Lawn gnomes are mean, stupid, and annoying.

Gnome 1: We stole fire from men, and put it in our pockets.
Gnome 2: That was painful and dumb.

Spell of Cotton Eye Joe - Causes a very annoying and catchy song to be played from no where and forces people to line dance.

Yes Gnomes are part of nordic mythology. In fact that's where Lawn gnomes orginated from.

I'll explain the concept...

Its basically a magic that uses the mass of one thing, and exchanges it for something else. Equivalent mass rules apply. So, he could turn one pound of sand to one pound of rice or something. And his medallion just amplifies his powers so he can form it as it gets made. But the majority is sloppy, so the wall isn't going to stay as a wall very long. It'll just drop back into dirt.

That's what I thought too. Kinda like the alchemist in FFX-2.

No, he takes compound a, subjects it to his brand of magic summoning stuff, and turns it into compound b.

Then about five minutes later, the effect wears off, and it turns back into compound a.

As Sang pointed at the face worm far away from him, suddenly a face worm popped infront of him. With a scream, Sang pushed the ranger near him at the face worm, then turned around to run.

Alright, that moment was just great. Heh. I could totally see Sang screaming like a girl than pushing other people in front of him.

More like my guy jumps behind Lazy's.

It looked to me like Lazy leaped over her to attack it, Darilk was just getting between her and it, incase Lazy's guy (whose name I can't remember) wasn't able to stop it. Darilk wasn't trying to attack it... just make sure it couldn't attack Iris. He doesn't really care whether anyone but he and her survives... because I'm assuming some of us (if not all) have been hired by her father to go with her (judging by the first post)... and he'd want us to protect her as well as killing the worms.

Only lazy, krylo, Dante, and FZ's characters are hired to protect Iris. Everyone else jsut met them. And my guy would throw her at the worms and run before he fought (When your fighting relies on grabbing your oppenent, you would tend to not fight often, especially when the enemies are gaint spikey worm things).

Actually, I wasn't hired to protect her, but my guy is the classic helper of damsels in distress, so he is there battling this thing anyway. My guy just wandered into this.

All of the people there are trained combatants (except maybe Iris and SS's guy). It's unlikely one of the babies is going to manage to kill them, or even get a good solid/damaging blow on them. If a baby face worm were to attack Darilk, for instance, it would just distract him from mama for a half-second while he dismembered it.

I'm sure the others would be capable of that as well.

Also: I would think a face worm 'sees' in the same way that the monsters in tremors see... seeming as they're kinda reminiscent. Sense vibrations and shit.

He's not hiding behind anyone. He's standing in the middle of the field where there are no face worms at the moment. All the ones chasing him were unloaded on Zw's guy, and the rest are probably running to their mom.

Sort of gave it away. Also, in all the RPs done here, and RPGs in general, whenever there is a theif of anything, the classic theif tactic is to trip into your target and act indignant, then storm off. The important World Saving Item will always now be in the theifs possesion...

2.) What time period does this RP take place? Or shall I say what theme? (IE Medievil, Modern, Fantasy, Furturistic, or combanation of multiple examples?)

And before making a character, you might want to read through it and see if you are still as intrigued by it after you've read what we have so far. I just don't want anyone to be making commitments and then going, "Oh... this RP is weird.... I don't want to be in it anymore."

Delamar is a different matter all together, and some random newbie joining would be told off by FZ, you, krylo, and myself before Celes even noticed the post.

And Krylo, if he has no emotions, then he won't have anger.

Which means he'll do absolutely nothing about it.

He has emotions. He just keeps them buried due to the nature of his power, and the fact that they're all dark. If he had no emotions he couldn't use his power (you'll notice he explained it as channelling his hate through his sword), but if he allowed his emotions to show constantly, he'd be a walking ball of death. As in dark waves would be shooting off of him constantly... and then he'd die because he'd expend all of his energy like that.

Besides: He still has a sense of honor and shame, AND he already doesn't like your guy because of how he cowered before the baby face worms, summoning rocks and what have you... and asking people to keep them from attacking him. In other words, your guy is a coward. Cowards have no honor in Darilk's eyes. Your character has no honor in Darilk's eyes.

Just for the record, Sangsue is only a coward against gaint monsters (Or slimey ones, disgusting ones, sticky ones, etc). He doesn't want to go touch those so he can then kill them.

Did he ever acknowledge that he asked them to protect him so he could focus on making weapons that wouldn't dissapear?

And does his sense of honor and stuff mean that the only way he thinks a situation can be solved is to run in, full in sight, sword swinging, and being amazingly....I don't know...classic?

The daggers didn't do much... and throwing weapons from behind a mound of dirt isn't exactly brave. Besides, he doesn't know much about alchemy, so he wouldn't really know that you were making things that should exist longer. He'd just figure you were cowering and making stuff to throw at things from a safe distance.

And does his sense of honor and stuff mean that the only way he thinks a situation can be solved is to run in, full in sight, sword swinging, and being amazingly....I don't know...classic?No again... considering that he just let Lidia off with a warning. He's holding her to her 'honor'... if she breaks it however...

He doesn't usually get violent... as is evidenced by the fact he didn't kick Chaos in the groin or stab you for calling him "Goth boy" and "an ass" respectively. He's just very draconian. If you steal, you are punished. If you kill without reason, you are punished. If you hurt someone without reason, you are punished. If you obstruct 'justice' you are punished.

And, of course, his primary punishment is death or dismemberment... comes with being draconian.

He also won't go out of his way to protect anyone that he's not suppose to be protecting. That just comes with having all his emotions buried, and being angsty if they weren't anyway.

Celes, I think that the pub is in the inn. Inns usually need a place to serve food, and drinks, to weary travellers, and since restaurants haven't been invented, the easiest way to keep potentially unruly travellers well fed would be to integrate the two.

Giant castle. We know that there's going to be tons of guards in the front entrance. The smart way to do things would be to sneak around the outside walls.

Does his sense of honor mean he would refuse to do that, or view it as cowardly, and he'd walk straight into the teeth of the huge legions of guards because it was honorable?

Or would he acknowledge that sneaking in would be much smarter, even though it was avoidance?

I.E. Right now he's making sure Iris doesn't get killed for her father, so all someone would have to do is point out that going in the front way would probably get her killed.
