I've got baaalls of steeel.
Honestly, I think Duke Nukem might have more movie potential than almost any other game franchise. It practically writes itself.
With that in mind, they'll fuck it up.

Sooo...is the movie release going to coincide with the release of Duke Nukem Forever? :D

Scott Faye, the producer on the oh-so-hot-looking Max Payne movie, has hooked up with 3D Realms to put together a Duke Nukem flick.
"As is the case with all of my game adaptations, I'd rather not make the movie than make a poor adaptation."
...This coming from the guy who made the Max Payne movie?
I dunno. They'll probably end up making it serious with light humorous undertones. And they'll probably cast Brad Pitt or someone as Duke. It sounds hard to screw up, but...

Bruce Campbell has to play Duke.
Period.

Well if he says "Max Payne? Okay, my bad" then I'll be alright. The man has no concept of good movies let alone decent adaptations of anything.
This can only end badly.

I hope so, cause then we never have to see it.

Bruce Campbell has to play Duke.
Not likely. (http://web.archive.org/web/20010810105955/http://formen.ign.com/news/11886.html)

Well, if Duke Nukem Forever's any indication, we'll all be dead and buried before it's released anyway, so why bother speculating about it?

Well, forget this. If they can't get Max Payne right, there sure as hell isn't any hope for Duke Nukem. It's a fun game and all but it was about zero plot, all action, it isn't going to translate into a good movie in the slightest feasible way.
Just another DOOM movie, which at least originally had the originality of fighting demons. They couldn't keep this, of course (for some reason), and had to change it to alien/mutants. Which is what Duke Nukem's plot starts out with as the antagonist force. There isn't any hope for this, they might as well not even try.

But they're planning on expanding on the Duke Nukem universe! That's gotta make it better! Cause... Okay, even I can't say that with a straight face. Expanding on the Duke Nukem universe? There only needs to be one thing. A guy killing a bunch of aliens. Period. A pure action flick.
Faye is still developing the story, he said, but he won't be shopping the film until everyone involved "feels solid" about the movie's direction.
Now that's the same problem that Live Free or Die Hard made. It's Duke fucking Nukem. It doesn't need a plot! :p

I didn't even know there was a duke nukem universe, except maybe some planets full of hookers where the aliens are trying to get in without paying the cover.
