Me and Loyal were talking, and we started to ask each other this: "What does NPF look like?" Now here's what I beleved it would look like.

I can kinda see it being a New York style city, each subforum looking like a diffrent section, like the RP area more like movie studios and whatnot, Arts/Crafts the more upscale, with like musiums and whatnot, etc.

A small hole in a wasteland, which leads to Candy Mountain.

Probably the same as it did a month ago. (http://forum.nuklearpower.com/showthread.php?t=31836)

Except with more laser battles and Barack Obama being president elect. Laser battles are awesome.

He'd be too busy fighting Candlejack to even have time to act as pres

here is kinda like the island from Lost... you think you did it in September, all readings point to Setember, but actually you did it last week

Yeah, what on earth took so long to get this thread approved? o_O

Anyway, my vision of the NPF is basically a semi-medieval superfortress. Great towering walls on the outside, with a nice castle-town on the inside.

Naturally, the administration resisdes in a large fort in the middle. Defensive turrets are replaced with laser cannons.

I view it as some sort of self-contained business or building.

With the Deathwish*residing in the basement hanger, naturally. *If you've forgotten, the Deathwish is my huge dimension-hopping fortress.

I think it's been approved for awhile. I've seen it for awhile in the community forums. It's just I don't think people scroll down past the first few regular threads in here.

Also, I totally see NPF as being just like an average sized town. Much like I described here. (http://forum.nuklearpower.com/showpost.php?p=850872&postcount=21) Steampunk, I'm thinking.

Steampunk, I'm thinking.

The dreadful failure of that steampunk roleplay from forever ago demonstrates that NPF is anything but steampunk.

Hah no? I was thinking it would have some sort of fantasy-ish element though.

Maybe NPF would be like some big reality show where a bunch of gamers are put into one house to see who is the last one to lose their mind.

I think that would only last one episode, as it seems like nearly everyone's done that already there CJ. >_>

Actually, NPF strikes me as the kind of place where a bunch of relatively normal people have somehow convinced themselves that they and everyone else on here are batshit insane, and are trying to live up to the standards in their minds. It's actually quite funny if you stand back and watch from a distance.

Except DFM, he's certifiable.

Do... do you think he's compensating for something?

Of course, in the "NPF as city" debate, the million dollar question is:

What section of it is the slums?

It's mostly dark gray with some black and darker shades of gray mixed in, depending on the box, as well as a couple shades of blue and white text here and there. Also there's an 8BT logo and a big banner ad at the top.

Maybe.

The RaiRO section.

Off Topic. It got so bad that city officials had that entire area demolished.

And Thadius is supposed to be gone. You said you were gone, Thad; go away.

People who are born blind don't know what colours are, you insensitive cads!
I kid, I kid.

Hmm, I can see it now: feral yoda-dogs running through the streets between the crumbling tenements. A few ragged people picking through the rubble, and huddling around the fires of old, treasured threads for warmth. They don't talk much.

While we're talking about old, boarded up demolished hovels, we should take a look at the old, boarded up chapels/mosques/temples/place of worship. Closed down long ago because of vicious verbal religion wars.

I could totally see Off Topic having been the slums. The last stint I was back on here I spent most of my time there, and now having shambled out like a zombie it's nice to see the light of relative sanity.

That being said there would have to be some kind of Time square that showed off Brian's latest 8-Bit theaters and Atomic Robos on big huge screen. But what would happen for a New Years celebration here?

Thadius isnt gone, he's just lurking in the sewers (and the Not Yootoobs thread)
I'm just bouncing around doing whatever; posting random crap, mugging hobos for loot, that sort of thing.
And I've always wanted a place in the Arts thread but never bothered to apply

One thing I will say is that NPF doesn't share the uniform colour scheme as the main site anymore, though that's obvious it has some connotations. The two pages no longer look like a singular entity, which implies a separation from the original reasoning of the site, ie, 8-Bit Theater.

To me it seems that Nuklear Power is one site and NPF is a very different site all together.

The difference is that Nuklear Power is the place that's changed, and I have to say it's a lot harder on the eyes these days. Yeah, it's edgier and more colorful, but I'm going to come out and say I hated it when it first changed. At this point, I'm fairly neutral on it, but then I'm not really as interested in Warbot as in 8-bit and I have to say my interest in HIKYM is minimal and I've passed on the last 3-5 updates, not even having kept count.

NPF, on the other hand, is the same great place as always, and honestly, I haven't seen any more influx or turnover in the user base than before Brian started up his new projects. I think it should keep its look just like it's kept its community. That's one of the major things that Gaia screwed up, was it went teen social and alienated much of its older user base, and the people the new look attracted pretty much cleared out the rest of them. I really don't want that to happen here. If people want to join NPF, they should join the standing community, which is represented just fine by NPF's appearance.

I'm aware that it's the site that's changed not the forum and I'm not suggesting that it's necessarily a negative thing, just that it shows that the two sites are moving further apart from each other. NPF is as is and developing within it's self where are Nuklear Power is growing and developing it's own direction.
