Revert your posting to here. Also for all future refrences I have nothing against anyone on this forum that I know of. Also on other unrelated news I will post up who is in and what they are playing as soon.

I now just noticed the name of this RP, and a question has arisen in my mind.
Is there some sort of high and mightly religion in this world we should know about?
TheSpiritOfVengance
04-05-2004, 12:41 AM
Yes there could be. However I did it mainly because it sounded good for the RP even though I worked it in. But also its the name of the mountainous region where you guys start off at (do to the naturally occuring stairs in the mountain and its height.)
Baiscally there are two religous sects. Istar and Xanthos. Baisically Istar is a Cult of people who cling to there weird ideals that will cause problems later and Xanthos is the heavy handed caste religion. They are your two major bad religons.

First off, if we're going by anime rules, my guy will obviously will have a bunch of fangirls, have amazing skills that most couldn't pull off, get his shirt ripped off for some/no reason and get laid first. Why? He's the pretty boy, that's why.
Anyway, what exactly do the Xanthos and Istar believe in? Any gods or rituals of any importance?
Krylo
04-05-2004, 02:23 AM
Actually... your character will have amazing skills that no one other than Janus would be able to pull off. The old crazy guy in anime is always uber powerful, but never shows it. Kind of like if there was a four year old...
Truce
04-05-2004, 02:41 AM
Oh yeah, how could I forget? Then, it will turn out that Janus passes off his skills in an incredibly short amount of time to another person; usually the hero, the pretty boy, or the bad ass; though one person can be all three. The only requirement is that they have to be young.
Some stereotypes:
The Badass none-hero (male): Always the second best; always. Doesn't matter if he has trained infinitely more than the hero, they often don't have the strength of the "heart" the lead has.
The Badass none-hero (female): Falls in love with the first person able to beat her. Doesn't matter if it's a man, a woman, or a duck. After falling in love she'll blush a lot, try to hide her feelings by kicking the object of her affection's ass at any oppourtunity, and have sexual tension so thick it would make Son Goku's head seem as soft as a pillow.
Hot Amazonian Chick: Can beat normal men and the hero men senseless, but is utterly powerless against villains.
Kids: Always appearing weak, they either have a physical prowess that no adult can match or they have super magical powers. Often both. Oh, and they tend to be either ignorant or insanely smart.
Old Men: They can do everything, except get a girl, which is why most of them a perverts or have no sex drive at all.
Dante
04-05-2004, 02:42 AM
In any case, by anime rules the instant one of you loses the girl, be it by KO, murder, having her crushed to death by Puchus, you will become a being of godlike power for the purposes of smacking down the villain.

Alright. A can also post my specific magic spells if you want.
Name: Dezil Roland
Caste: Duques
Age: 37
Height/Weight: 6' 2"/ 190 Pounds
Apperance: Wears a suit of heavy steel platemail almost constantly. He has long silver hair, marking him as one of the Duques, but also as a sign of his age. His long gray beard and thick mustcahe, along with his serious brown eyes give him a wisened but menacing appearance. He rarely wears his helmet, hating the limitations it puts on his vision, and good vision is important to a Military Leader. His silver Greatsword he wears on his back is the last important detail of the general.
Gear: Suit of Full Platemail armor, and a silver enchanted greatword, and his powerful Shock Magic.
Occupation/Class: General: Shock (FFVI)
Bio: He had been quite possibly the most successful general in the Tolarian lands for a long time. He can do wonders with troop amounts half expected, and once was reported to have held a fortress with 100 men against 10,000. His combat skills one on one are almost peerless, and his friendships are trustworthy and lasting, but his enemies generally will not live to see tomarrow. A gruff and dangerous man, but known for his bizarre sense of battlefield humor. An enigma, but due to his incredible skills, he was chosen to go on the rescue mission anyway.

Spirit, is it alright if my guy can use fire magic, seeing as how everyone is using some sort of magic. All he would do is probably shoot fireballs and make stuff hot by touching it. Maybe make a fireshield.

We'll see. Maybe your guy will learn it later thorugh some sort of Ninja Magic or something. But Rember I will have to up the strength of my NPC's and situations and stuff to make this a bit of a challenge. I also might use FZ's favorite once... The Chinchilla... but up until I get the Main thread up ( I am waiting for Celes and Mr. V) I can only plan...

1) He can't talk. Characters who can't talk are usually the scapegoats.
2) You said he looks like a women, not he is a pretty boy. There's a difference.
3) Mimes are stupid.

*Rubs head* "That kind of hurt!"
There is only one way to get a truely unbeatable charcter. And I will not allow Plainswalkers in any of my campaigns as PC's. Secondly this is going to be mostly about how you use your head than you use your fist, although there will be plenty of action. Trust me I have been GM enough games to know how to handle fast people how to handle ungodly strong people and so on and so forth. Also the haste would wear of eventually and the fastest creature in any or all of my Campaigns is not human.

Your guy is a laboratory experiment gone horribly wrong. After his lab exploded, he donned red tights, and started going by the name... "The Flash!"
Also, I'd go with haste too... not for any power reasons, but because it just seems it would fit the character better.
Forever Zero

All right, haste it is.
And remember, a high velocity + magic swords means lots of cut things.
Then you meet Tanky Barb in magic plate, and your puny swords bounce off his armor. Fast, but no muscle... too bad.
Krylo
04-05-2004, 07:07 PM
Velocity is speed with a function of direction.
Energy is translated into force.
Energy is equal to mass times velocity squared.
Speed is more important to delivering a powerful blow. If you got muscles but you can't move them quickly, they aren't horribly important in striking someone. They just give you better follow-through.
IHateMakingNames
04-05-2004, 07:15 PM
And really, to be moving that fast, don't you think his muscles will be quite developed?
Dante
04-05-2004, 07:17 PM
Realistically speaking, unless you were carrying a greatsword or some other large weapon, plate mail was pretty much king on the medieval battlefield. It pretty much negates slashing damage from most weapons, so you have to do blunt trauma to effectively hurt the guy. A light weapon is hardly adequate for that, being that its low mass reduces the kinetic energy that can be delivered to the target, because it will tend to deflect from reactive forces rather than solidly delivering its energy to the target. Zxes and greatsword were havier and more stable, and could thus give you more follow-through, which was pretty much essential to knocking the plated knight down and finishing him off.
The conceit that "speed kills" only applies to combat against lightly arrmored opponents, like tribesmen or peasants, where a three-foot razor like the katana can murder people with horrific ease. Against a teutonic knight... break out the heavy weapons.
TheSpiritOfVengance
04-05-2004, 07:37 PM
One word: Cannon...
Anyhow in this argument yeah big armor means big weapons means overcompensation *Badum Chi* Anyway I don't think I will put any tutonic knights in because I really don't think they will be appropriate. However if you can get weild a katana with enough speed and strenght and its a real good one, it would be good enough to scare the bejeesus out of any fully armored slow noble in plate mail.
Krylo
04-05-2004, 07:45 PM
Yes, plate mail was god like... but a barbarian wouldn't normally actually wear plate mail, and one that did would be lacking a helmet or vambraces... and probably any armor on their back as that it takes two people to get platemail on.
However, he could still take out the barbarian using haste and a smaller sword (not sure what swords he has, I'm assuming short swords, or broad swords), being that he'd be moving faster than is naturally possible than a human, he could, possibly, get a running start and drive the point of the sword through the armor. Plate mail usually wasn't thick, because having too much extra weight was bad for the knights.
A person without magic, however, wouldn't stand a chance in hell against a knight in full plate mail without a war-hammer or great axe. Great sword would be ok... but the knight would still have the advantage.
Dante
04-05-2004, 07:52 PM
Well, if we're talking magic here, why not count magic armor? Maybe the plate he has is lighter or stronger than medieval plate, or maybe any weapon that strikes it is wrenched from its user's hands.
Note that when I mentioned barbarian, I basically meant "any big strong guy", like most knights tended to be.
Krylo
04-05-2004, 07:56 PM
Wouldn't really matter if it was lighter or stronger... if he managed to get a quick run at him with the point of the sword connecting solidly, it would rip through most anything at hasted blade singer speeds. Especially if he held it in close and then thrust out at the last second to add even more force.
Besides, I only counted the haste spell because IHMN's character has that.

Two choices. Either a stab which has a much greater chance of penatrating armor, or just go for another part of the body.

Two choices. Either a stab which has a much greater chance of penatrating armor, or just go for another part of the body.
Most likely the knight will twist, and let the tip slide along his armor, then he trips you and tramples you while you're still on the ground. Penetrating armor only applies to things like longbow or horn bow arrows or heavy things like poleaxes and claymores.
Going for another part of the body is feasible, but which one will it be?
IHateMakingNames
04-05-2004, 08:02 PM
How armored is the opponent? Usually decapitation would be a good way to go, or just aim for any low armored part of the body and let them bleed to death.

Brassard = armor that protects the arm.
Coat of Mail = mesh or net made of small metal rings or links that was worn under the suite of armor. Also known as Chain Mail.
Cuirass = a breast plate from the neck to the waist.
Cuisse = a piece of steel that covered the thighs.
Elbow Piece = metal piece that covered the knee, but allowed it to bend.
Gauntlet = a glove.
Gorget = a collar of metal that protected the throat.
Greave = the piece of armor that covered the leg from the ankle to the knee.
Helmet = metal head covering.
Sabaton = the armor piece that covered the foot.
Shoulder Piece = metal that covered the shoulders.
Tasset = overlapping plates of metal that formed a short skirt around the hips
Visor = the moveable part of the helmet in front of the eyes.
So, every part of the body is covered, except for the insides of joints... which are still covered by chainmail, and under the chainmail is leather. The back of the leg MIGHT be vulnerable, right at the knee... if you're lucky.
Dante
04-05-2004, 08:04 PM
Full body armor, AKA platemail.
Note also that decapitation was damned rare in medieval combat, because most hits in battle were glancing hits that nonetheless killed because of muscle/ligament damage and blood loss, like you said. Even katanas rarely cut people apart in actual battle.

Dante
04-05-2004, 08:23 PM
Rapiers weren't exactly fantastic against proper full plate, being that the chain reinforcements were made very well, and thrusts on the plate itself might not exactly be the best thing to do.
Best to leave armored knights to people like Janus and let him turn them inside out or something.

So now my guy has a magic katana that spilts into two and drains life of others/himself, a normal katana, and a rapier... I want to give him more weapons.
Edit - What are the most speedy weapons anyway? Usually when I think of fast weapons either katana or rapier comes to mind, though I really don't know much about weapons.
Edit 2 - FZ, going by anime/RPG rules? 37 and signs of his age with grey hair... He's not even middle age yet.

You now what I will simplify this...In this Universe only FZ wears full plate mail. So Nyah. Anyway it will be mostly Medium armored knights and magic users as NPC you would be fighting. Critters more often in some places but I will get to that later
EDIT- Daggers, Short Swords, Chucks, those are fast.
Krylo

Kenshin's weapon is a sakabatou, "reverse-edged sword".
A wakizashi is a short katana meant to be used as a defensive weapon.
Krylo

Katana-Wakizashi fighting is based on using the shorter sword to parry and the longer to attack. Sweet, I'm in the thread again.
Edit- This is my revamped spell list. Alert me of any needed changes, ja?
Cleansing flame- Think flamestrike. A pillar of flame from the heavens strikes down evil with the searing heat of holy justice.
earthly revolt- Tendrils from the earth burst from the ground in revulsion of the evil of the enemy they grab and bind tightly.
Divine Calling- Think Holy Word. Luric speaks aloud a damning prayer in the native tongue of the celestial planes (if we don't have such things, let me know and I'll change this), blinding, deafening, and possibly killing those rife with sin. Those with lesser smirches on their records, or are stronger in constitution, are merely stunned. Being a fallible mortal, Luric as well is shaken by this magic.
Light of the heavens- Think Holy bolt. A primary mode of ranged attack for Luric, this sends spheres of pure light streaking from his hands, that char the flesh of those of evil intent, and invigorate those who follow the path of goodness. This can also be used to temporarily charge his blade.
Regeneration- This is a potent healing spell that can repair the most dire of wounds by fully regrowing a damaged organ or bone, and removing internal bleeding and such.
Revive- Standard ressurection. Only works on someone who has been dead no more than a week, and whose body still maintains a humanoid appearance. This is a complex and extremely difficult spell, and is not guaranteed to work, but brings the affected person back to life, with all the physical characteristics it had before being killed.
Heal- A smaller healing spell that only repairs small to medium sized cuts, scrapes, punctures, and aches.
Cleanse- Another potent healing magic, this removes any illness, poisoning, or paralytic effects on the targeted, as well as moderate charms and dominations.
Homily of the Wrathful Storm (the spell that makes the peoples fall down!)-A powerful summoning that manifests itself in a localized thunderstorm, rife with one of three energy types, Cold, Fire, or Light. The energies fester and grow in power for a few minutes as Luric's chanting reaches a crescendo, all the while, the area is pelted with hail and rain. Upon reaching the climax of the spell, the gathered energies are released, raining down upon many enemies, or in a cataclysmic burst on one(In a creative fashion to be decided by me, supposing I ever use it). If the summoning is interrupted at any time, then the storm disperses, and any energy randomly rains from the sky, and the spell is lost for another month. (it can only be cast once a month).*
*This one was kind of for fun, but If I can somehow keep it in any capacity, please tell me...yeah, tell me.

Actually, if IHMN did clank that would mean that the various metals would be hitting eachother, which means that with certain movements friction between the weapons would be created, which in turn means that movement will be slightly restricted, which IHMN wouldn't want, so he'd arrange it in a way that it wouldn't.
Or, he just simply doesn't.
Anyway, I'm updating my weapon list.

2) Steel Rod, roughly three feet in length and two inch in width.
3) A Bag of Marbles

3) A Bag of Marbles
Marbles of Silvarus (Lesser)
Lesser Marbles of Silvarus are a wild magic item created by the wild mage Silvarus Quinthani, father of the noted Paithan Quinthani. A complete set consists of thirty-six marbles: six red, six clear, and the balance green. To activate a marble, the user must speak the command word. After this is spoken, the marble releases its effects when it hits its target, or after five seconds if the wielder mistakenly hesitates in throwing it. When a marble is expended, it turns black. If a marble cannot go off (for example, marble #12 does not function in the astral or outer planes), then it does not change colour and retains its power.
Silvarus created multiple sets of different lesser marbles, each set possessing a different 36 effects. In all cases, the effect of a red marble is harmful to the target, the effect of a clear marble is beneficial to the target, and the effect of a green marble may be good or bad, depending on the circumstance. The powers of one set of marbles appears below (Note: since each marble in a set holds only one power, these items cannot be controlled by wild mages):
11 (Clear) Target covered by improved invisibility for one turn.
12 (Green) Djinni Lord summoned (AC 4, HD 7+3, hp 59, THAC0 11, # ATT 1, DMG 2d8+4, SA Create food, water, wine, soft goods, metal items, Illusion, Invisibility, Gaseous Form, Wind Walk, Whirlwind) for one hour of service.
13 (Green) Create vortex, as spell. Lasts 15 rounds.
14 (Green) Plant Growth in a 150' x 150' area.
15 (Green) Marbles absorbs next d6 + 18 spell levels cast in a 100' radius.
16 (Green) Fear in 20' radius. Effects last one turn.
21 (Red) Target must save or be blinded for d4 rounds.
22 (Clear) All of the target's abilities are raised to 18 for d4 rounds.
23 (Red) Death spell in 15' radius of marble.
24 (Red) Target's strength reduced to 5 for one turn.

32 (Green) Target diminished to one-twelfth normal dimensions for one hour
33 (Red) Target's hair turns white.
34 (Clear) Target gets +2 protection for one hour.

66 (Clear) Target adds +2 to all damage rolls for 24 hours.
Marbles of Silvarus (Greater)
These magic items are akin to the Lesser Marbles, but are more potent. Each appears as a marble filled with swirling colours. Again, a set of marbles consists of 36. However, any marble in a set may invoke any power of the set (so powers may be used more than once, unlike those of a lesser set). The only indication to the user of the marble as to the nature of the power about to go off is that the marble will change to green, red, or clear as soon as the command word is spoken.
In the hands of a wild mage, greater marbles are truly deadly, because a wild mage may opt to attempt to cause a marble to emit a specific power (assuming she has seen the power, or is aware of the range of powers of the set), with a 50% chance of success. Note: Only one Marble of Silvarus, whether Greater or Lesser, may be invoked by any one person in a round.

Uh Dante are you re-joining the RP?
This thing does not work out. Either side could just as easily defeat the other. Another infernal infinite loop, Like the one Magic users are better/not better thing. There is no way of knowing this it becomes an eternal Shrodingers Cat Paradigm.
Maybe, but I don't know what to join as. I'd take Elementalist/Black Mage, but I don't know whetehr BMHadoken followed through with his submission.

These items wouldn't fit in a post, so I made them into an attachment. Check them out... I want the wildstone, but any one of the other things I put (other than the chaos blade) would be fine too.
You know, seeming as everyone else is getting magical items.

I doubt I'll actually be allowed any of those. I mean... a bag of beans that will grow ANYTHING? A bag that releases monsters at will? A sentient magic rock? A sentient sword? ...Still... it's worth a shot.
Dante

Never underestimate the havoc you can wreak with a bag of holding/portable hole. You can easily eliminate a character from a campaign very effectively with bag/hole bomb combinations.
Krylo
04-06-2004, 03:52 AM
A portable hole would be cool... especially a bit one. Stick it on a wall and walk through, muahahaha.
Also, well of worlds was another item... I don't think I put that one on the list though. It's a well that connects to a random plane/dimension, but wild mages have a 50% chance of controlling where it leads... and it can lead into someone's bottomless pouch.
Dante
04-06-2004, 04:34 AM
Actually, wild mages have a 50/50 chance of controlling most artifacts of randomness, like the Well of Many Words, Deck of Many Things, Wand of Wonder, etc.

IHMN - Alyan Facnobents (Bladesinger, Real)
Ecurt - Truce (Mime, Vilao)
krylo - Janus (Wild Mage, Lacaio)
Forever Zero - Dezil(General, Duques)
Biran - John (Beastmaster, Lacaio)
TheSpiritofVengeance - Urza (Pirate/Red Mage, Vilao), Magus (Red Mage, Real), Mikaliea Siteliev(Apparently Bladesinger, apparently Real))
RangerAidan - Luric (Cleric, Sacerdote)
GatoFiero - Craus (Cleric, Sacerdote)
lazy man - Koji (Ninja, Duques)
I'll probably join as a black mage... an EVIL black mage...
You might want to try Dragoon.
EDIT: Here he is...
Name: Antaeus Nybor Kenjarek (Calls himself Antaeus in polite society; he used Nybor as an alias during his magical training and created several spells bearing that name.)
Caste: Duques
Age: 49
Height/Weight:
Appearance: http://www.uncreativity.com/excel/ilpalazzo/manga-ip.jpg
He appears much younger than he actually does due to various arcane rituals and potions, but he is still a lethal battle-wizard capable of wreaking untold devastation when directing the Sorceror Corps.
Gear:
A standard assortment of magical wands and staves that he uses in lieu of his own spells, preferring to keep them for truly large battles, as well as potions brewed for him by his team of alchemists. He carries no weapons - he is a weapon.
His costume, The Mantle of Brigid, is a masterfully crafted piece of protective gear. It affords him incredible resistance to magical spells, which is quite useful given that most of his assailants are mages themselves. Against physical attackers, he has a few defensive spells bound to a chain contingency. The crown he wears, the Dragon Tear Tiara also grants him near-prescience - he cannot be surprised, although it does not increase his reaction speed, not that he needs it.
Occupation: Sorcerer-General, works with Dezil to coordinate the magical corps and the army in battle.
Class: Battle mage but with a lot of non-combat spells. Famous for the "Gentle Rebuke" series, and even more so for his weather-based spells.
Bio:
Sadistic, intelligent, and dangerous, Antaeus uses anagathics to maintain his youthful look and to deceive potential rivals into underestimating him. An arrogant child born into a Duques family, when confronted with the royalty of the Real, he swore that he would find some way to surpass them. And in the end, he did, in his own way. Antaeus enrolled in the royal wizard academy under the false name of
A prodigy in the dark arts, Antaeus quickly found that there was little that his tutors could teach him that he could not learn himself. After he graduated from the wizard academy at age 12, he proceeded to enlist himself into the Rasteria Sorcerer Corps, where he learned about battlefield magic in a sea of blood and death. His mastery of war weather was legendary even then, and subjugated nations still remember the wrath of the fire rains, lightning blizzards and thorn tornadoes he called down on them... and tremble.
Antaeus favors cold, ruthless efficiency when dealing with any situation. Common tactics involve taking to the skies with high-circle flight spells, then raining fireballs from his wands and staves onto enemy formations, or annihilating enemy commanders with disintegrate spells. He is not unfamiliar with impeding enemy progress by turning rock to mud, then reversing the process to trap them all for further disposal, nor does he hesitate to hurl himself into the midst of enemy armies, protected by powerful defensive magic, and summon high-ranking demons to his side. He is somewhat averse to fleeing obviously superior opponents, as his tremendous pride clashes with his tactical assessment of a situation, not that there are many threats powerful enough to make him flee.
Antaeus knows Dezil, and respects him for his command skills. While the Magical Corps have not been deployed for quite some time now, his men and he have trained with Dezil's troops, usually as an air-mobile assault wing. He is also aware of the existence of the mad mage Janus, who is quite possibly the only man who can surpass him in magical mastery, although the point is debatable.
EDIT: IF Spirit doesn't like it or if BM decides to join up, I'll withdraw him.

Anyway, since everyone's using magical weapons...I'm submitting these abilities for approval. They'll probably get shot down, but hey, I've gotta try.
Effect Mimic: If Truce spots a magical object and wields an object of similar shape and size then the effect of the enchanted object is copied onto the object Truce is wielding. MP used is directly porportional to the "cost" of the enchantments on the original weapons.
Item Change: Change the size and appearance of an object in possession. Lasts for half an hour, or how long the Mimic can keep up the spell; whichever is shorter. Useful for changing apples to oranges (or making gold from lead and that stuff). MP used is directly porportional to the extent of the changes and time controlled.

You all will be starting at a summit that is digused as a birthday party for some noble. This is a very kind and famous noble so all of you will know off him at least (IHMN and FZ will probably know him.)
Item #2
The cult sect is insane, however its very popular compared to the Caste alternative. There is a new preist trying to bring about a new religion but more on that later. The Cult will do anything for money. EXCEPT things that go against their ideals Which are
A) All people are equal
B) There is 472 Gods and Goddess in their pantehon and they all represent something in us all.
C) Human sacrifices are expected weekily and must be pure blood (I.E Virgin)
D) Inbreeding is bad so all royalty is evil.
E) All order is evil that has been touched by man, so all preist that are in their cult are "untouchable"
Item #3
Not all people are born into the caste their parents are in with the exepcion of real because they can only marry people with red hair.
Item #4
The other alternate to religon is similar to Taoism and anybody in this religion has no hair on their head. Not even eyebrows.
Item #5
Most of the characters want this new nation to form especially the Higher nobles because they all have a chance at having some real power.

First things first - All shall feel the wrath of my Wrathful CastigatioN! Muahahhahahah!
Next - Can I get a runic guardian/Mithril golem/nimblewright bodyguard?
Third - I've told you that Antaeus knows war weather. However, this magic is diferent from his normal magic int hat it is much slower but more owerful, something like a high ritual of sorts which he does in concert with other mages. I was hoping to put that in, since it has largely no effect in the game but is kinda essential for Antaeus' story purposes. Doable?
Oh, and who is this Jean girl? her pictures are pretty...
Krylo
04-07-2004, 01:05 AM
Jean is a (non-erotic) dancer/martial artist from Lunar 2.
So... could someone not believe in either religion? That's how I'm seeing Janus looking at the two of them...
TheSpiritOfVengance
04-07-2004, 01:05 AM
Dante
Next No.
Third: Fine if its for th story okay.
fourth I dunno
Krylo
Hmmmm... Okay I guess its alright...But I was going to mainly use the Cult as NPC's
Dante
04-07-2004, 01:09 AM
Damn, krylo beat me to it. I was going to have Antaeus be an atheist and scorn all clerics/priests, if not to their faces, at least silently.
Krylo
04-07-2004, 01:12 AM
Janus would be more agnostic than Aethiest. Not really liking the caste system, and having trouble believing the gods would approve of such a thing, but on the other hand finding virgin sacrifices and untouchable holy men completely asinine.
TheSpiritOfVengance

By Dante Damn, krylo beat me to it. I was going to have Antaeus be an atheist and scorn all clerics/priests, if not to their faces, at least silently.
Well Krylo if you want maybe you can be one of the few taoists. However I don't think you'd like that idea. Dante I think that you could do that. I wouldn't be too bugged by it... Also is anyone willing to change there caste to Senhores?
Krylo
04-07-2004, 01:35 AM
I'll be Senhores. Don't really care about his caste... just pretend I said blue hair instead of brown before it turned grey.
Also: Janus is an adventurer, whose magic tends to blow up wherever he's living... thus he's kind of outside of 'culture'. I think that'd be a decent way of explaining his particular views.
Basically he'd think the caste system is stupid because having red hair doesn't inherrently make you smarter/stronger/better than a blonde. Having travelled the world he'd have noticed this... and as that most people don't like living near him, he'd be able to form that opinion without being socially engineered to believe otherwise. He'd also still think the killing virgins thing is horrible, and probably actively dislikes the cult... and as for the taoists, he doesn't see why he should shave his head. Much less his crotch.
TheSpiritOfVengance
04-07-2004, 01:49 AM
Hmmm... Alright guys I am geting off now. Krylo thanks for doing that. Also your guy seems like he would make a good opinion leader in the group. If he weren't a wild mage. Whew I am glad no one took rage mage, thats like BM from nuklear power in a since with the stabbity and all. Also for your special magic Item Krylo you get a deck of many things or Ishima's Ineffable Jar Opener. For the record The Jar opener is basically A demon that pops out of some portal when the bell is rung and he will open anything with a jar lid on it that you tell him to... He only does this once every twenty minutes after that he goes back into the portal. He does nothing else... Merry Christmas. As for Dante hmmm I have got a special artifact for you. Its called a Hat of hoding its baiscally a bag of Holding in hat form.
Krylo
04-07-2004, 01:55 AM
Dude... that Jar Opener is the coolest thing ever.
...I'm taking that. I'm also designing a spell that puts jar lids on people's heads. (I'm only half joking...)
TheSpiritOfVengance
04-07-2004, 02:41 AM
I thought you'd like it. The thing is though it opens the lids, However lets just say that the means for opening the lid are not always pretty Just Imagine the balrog poping out of nowhere and opening a jar. Sometimes its neat. Sometimes its not.
Dante
04-07-2004, 07:03 AM
A hat of holding? Hmm. I suppose slinging 1'200 lbs worth of potions of explosions out of it onto some unwitting fool would be fun...
Krylo
04-07-2004, 08:16 AM
If it's a big hat of holding you could pull it down over your head and disappear...
lazy man
04-07-2004, 10:27 AM
God dammit, can someone think up a way make me equal to some of these people. They all seem to be overpowered and my guy wouldn't be able to do anything compared to them. Either that or take something away from them.
RangerAidan
04-07-2004, 11:44 AM
I wouldn't say I'm overpowered at all. On that note, do I get any special and/or shiny magic things?
lazy man
04-07-2004, 12:43 PM
Alright, not everyone's overpowered, but at least take something away from IHMN. He seems to be overdoing it with the fast, rich, highly classed, perfect fighter, pretty boy thing.

Alright, not everyone's overpowered, but at least take something away from IHMN. He seems to be overdoing it with the
fast,
Blade singers are supposed to be fast, that is the entire basis of their techniques.
rich,
Blade singer is either considered a noblemen's fighting style (Like fencing) or is extremely hard to master and only the rich can afford it (And Spirit said I had to be rich).
highly classed,
Spirit said the Blade Singer had to be in the Real caste, and I did not argue.
perfect fighter,
He is fast and only a little above average strength. If you put him up against a bear with no swords or any other weapons, he would have to run or be killed by the bear (If the bear can get it's hands on him though).
pretty boy thing.
So?
Krylo
04-07-2004, 03:02 PM
Well... if the pretty boy REALLY bothers anyone... I could always make Janus a GAY old pervert.
Of course... it'll cost ya.
IHateMakingNames
04-07-2004, 03:14 PM
Hey, Ecurt's guy is a pretty boy to.
Krylo
04-07-2004, 03:16 PM
In every battle innocents must be sacrificed. Ecurt's guy will simply be one of those innocents. And... being a mime... one that could be harassed constantly without too much worry of him saying anything. Hmmm....
IHateMakingNames
04-07-2004, 03:30 PM
I still can't think of a second magic blade... I liked the idea of the cursed blade rune thing you posted, but not sure what it would the benifits of having it would be (I can't use all of the stuff you posted and I don't want to go read it).
Forever Zero
04-07-2004, 03:37 PM
Hmm, wait a sec, I didn't get any random, strange but nifty magical item...
And if you want a second sword... You have a blood sucking one... What about one that poisions whoever is hit by it with some hideous instant poison...
IHateMakingNames
04-07-2004, 03:40 PM
You have shock magic. My guy is just speed and swords.
And the first sword isn't blood sucking, it's life sucking.
Krylo
04-07-2004, 03:42 PM
And my magical item is 99% useless... it's just cool. "Damn mayonaise jar! BALOR! Open the mayonaise! I demand sandwichy satisfaction!"
Forever Zero
04-07-2004, 03:44 PM
Ah my mistake on the sword, but I still say a magical poisoned sword could work.
And even a useless magical item that could add some humor would be alright...
IHateMakingNames
04-07-2004, 03:45 PM
What's krylo's magic item?
Oh, and the current magic sword I have also splits into two swords that glow red.
Forever Zero
04-07-2004, 03:49 PM
I don't know if it is an item, but krylo got the ability to summon a demon that will open up any jar every 20 minutes...
Krylo
04-07-2004, 03:51 PM
It's an item... and that's ALL the demon will do, is open Jars.
IHateMakingNames

I hope at some point in the RP our lives will depend on a jar that needs to be opened but no one in the group is strong enough to do so...

That would of course be the greatest irony...
"The cure to the disease is in that jar, but none of us can open it!"
"Stand aside mortals..." *Summons Demon*
"What is thy bidding my Mast- Damnit, not you again!"
"That's right, do your duty!"
*Demon, cursing and muttering, opens the jar and leaves* *And there was much rejoicing*
"Yay."
GatoFiero
04-07-2004, 04:06 PM
I have another idea how we could use such a demon.
*demon is summoned*
"What is your bidding?"
"There is a jar at the other end of the hallway, go open it."
"You mean at the end of this trap infested corridor master?"
"Shut up and go trap monkey."
*the demon's muttering can be heard as he progresses down the hall, occasionally punctuated metallic sounds and screams*
Krylo
04-07-2004, 04:17 PM
Hah! Good idea Gato. I'm adding a 'jar' to Janus's equipment... thus he can roll a jar through the corridor, so the demon would actually be going to open it. (Otherwise I'm not sure if it would work... it's pretty clear that the demon can ONLY open jars for it's master with that item)
Dante

Hahaha, someone else DOES know it exists!
That is where I thought up the line, popped into my head when I was thinking of what the demon could say...
EDIT: Wow, that version isn't as good as the one I have saved on my comp...

Alright! All of you get one little random magic item that doesn't have a magic item!
Gato Deck of many things!
FZ one of my favorite magic items of all time do to the fact that I made it...Lightining in a bottle. Shoots a lighting bolt out once but it takes a day to charge.
Lazy Shuriken of Insanity. Toss it at somebody and if it hits them they go insane. I think that evens things up.
Ecurt. Since your a Mime you get somethign that will never make sense until later. A sword that when its sheathed it returns to your hand.
Celes Ninja Smoke Bomb only really masssive and longer lasting.
Ranger Adian You get a black hole in my pocket. Basically be really careful once you open it.
I will get the rest to the other group members once I start up the RP...
