Alright so far it seeems its like this
BMHadoken: Black mage
Forever Zero: undecided
IHMN: Blade Singer
Dante: Undecided
Storm Rider: Monk
Alright for all future refrences if any body chooses to be a summoner/beastmaster we are using FF style summons unless you want a certain summon from DnD (No Taraesque. Ever.) Other than that anybody can be anything except Mimic Black Mage & Blade Singer. There may be only one(a peice).
As for the caste sytem I wil explain that to you now but more of it is in the History breifing I will have up a little later.
Here are the Caste
Real 5% of Population (Emperor main family)
Duques 10% of Population (Second ousins to Royal family)
Senhores 15% of Population ( Distant Relations)
Sacerdote 20% of Population (Cleregey)
Lacaio 20% of Population ("Common man" Merchants)
Vilão 30% of Population ("Lower" Class)

Can I get a description of what a Blade Singer does?
Forever Zero
04-01-2004, 09:48 PM
I'm either going to be a General, or an ... wait for it... you know it's coming... Engineer!
Which brings the questions, 1. What side are we going ot be on, or can we choose, and 2. What is the level of technology in this world, and what can an engineer build if he really wanted to.
Krylo
04-01-2004, 09:52 PM
Looking at whose joining already... I'm definately going to sign up. Just let me look through a list of DnD classes before I decide.
Also... how will summons be handled? Quick ultra damage spell thing, or a creature fights with you in battle?
TheSpiritOfVengance
04-01-2004, 09:52 PM
Well A blade singer is baiscally A really god Fighter usually uses either dual swords or sword and staff and can cast spells like a Black Mage to little lesser extent. They are extremely skilled in sword play and magics making them an exremely deadly guy to run into( thats why there wil only be one here...) Usually Elven however there will not be any Elves in this RP (well maybe.) Oh and they are limited to the upper Caste so you get that too...

I guess I'll join, but I don't feel like reading or thinking much, so I'll ask some questions later.

04-01-2004, 09:55 PM
I believe blade singers are suppose to be VERY fast... part of the reason they're called blade singers is that their blades actually sing due to the speed they travel through the air... but then, I'd never heard about them being that good at magic, either, so I may be wrong.
Forever Zero

Sounds sort of like the Orc Blademaster from War3 if you ask me what a Blade Singer is.
TheSpiritOfVengance
04-01-2004, 09:59 PM
Yes only think really good Fighter and A fairly good mage EDIT: and freakishly quick cannot forget that part. As for tech the world is starting to experiment with magic and technology leaving it at the level where they don't need mounts ( If your really really rich) and there is the very rare gun, but its not like a modern one in any aspect. Summons will be handled by fighting with you in battle. unless the creature is a quick summon that can only do mass damage then it will just be a quick strike, so a combo of both.

Is it possible to switch to the super fast version of a Blade Singer (Or make that part of the current one)?
Also, the story is some what confusing (Or poorly written, I can't decide). From what I understand, a long time ago some heroes did some good stuff then started a government. Later, they based how good people are by their hair (I'm assuming it goes Red>Grey>Turquoise>Orange>Brown>Blonde), then 1000 years later people become smarter and wanted to change the system, but the leader left so it didn't, then new guy comes and starts a war, he gets kidnapped, then demands for old guy comes.

I violently demand to be a gunslinging black mage.

I assume the colors next to names are the hair color of the castes? If so... where's black hair? I see silver and blue... but no black. I like black hair

04-01-2004, 10:06 PM
Also, what are the guns like? You said they are nothing like our guns, and if they aren't like our guns, what are they?
And you said rich people don't need mounts. What does that mean exactly?

I'll join as a alcoholic, lecherous white mage...if you’ll have me.

Woah! Alright The story was choppy because you got my bare-bones brainstormed one so I will type out the whole thing for you later but you summed it up fairly nicely only its a tad deeper The black hair was replaced by orange, but I guess black can be the color. As for the blade singer IHMN it is up to you. You are a good RPer and I assume you would be able to judge that choice for yourself so be what you want.
Second issue: Gun Control. The guns where just developing and were only available to those who were able to make them. They are operated like our guns but different. Also they are more of an energy/projectile because more people were still in magic mostly. So they were like an old flintlock mostly or a semi auto at best but were extremely hard to find. Some shoot normal bullets some shoot magic some shoot whatever was put in.
Third Issue: Mounts/No mounts. Baisically they have found a way to make a sort of magic/steam powered vehical that is highly un reliable and would sooner crapp out then work. Think like a hovercraft that was really bad. That of course and maybe the occasional animated object. You guys might get one of these I don't know yet.
Fourth GAto Ferio: Umm okay... Just remeber not to go inot too many details....

Right, so as a mage it would make sense to have them... Fear the magic AK47.
If you go with a magic AK47, you will feel the wrath of my Magitek Laser Cannon as soon as I design and build one...
And I still don't know who to pick. A general is like Leo from FFVI who gets the awsome Shock Skill, and an Engineer is like Dezil from the original FF RP who builds lots of cool gadgets and weapons.

04-01-2004, 10:27 PM
Yeah sure If you were a really really rich mage, who had a lot of money to blow, more training with guns than magics, was in the upper 19 percent of the population ,and didn't care that the guns might malfunction sooner then hit a target. Mind you IHMN character is automatically in the upper 5 and FZs is in the upper 15%. So we can't all be rich or royal but if you can some how work it out character wise that makes sense logically I let you do it. I will also let you be a Cross Dressing Panda if you can work it in and it makes good sense in the plot. And by makes good sense I mean makes good sense to me and any other person I might make a judge in my absence (probably FZ IHMN or Krylo)
EDIT Yes Beastmasters Train WIld Animals...

I say go speed. And I will allow for one big spell from either DnD or FF its up to you. Were gonna have a lot of magic users so I would prefer someone whos fast. Oh A blade singer usually carries a magic sword or two so if your worried about casting power don't be.

Fine. Just try to keep the insanity down. This aint Call of The Cthuhlu. I don't want you running around TKing. Also for all future refrences the upper classes (save the Real) think the lower classess are no better than dogs in most cases and the lower classes think of the higher ups as snide stuck up aristocrates. Although your guys may get to like each other the classess generally don't mesh too well...
EDIT there might be a npc elf OR a secretly elven pc because well not very many people like the elves. YOUR guy is human IHMN...
EDIT#2 Here is the basics for the plot. The Emperor has been kidnapped. You guys have been summoned to rescue the man so maybe the diputed territory can gain freedom and nationhood.

Ok then, now to properly sign-up.
Name: John
Caste: Brown
Age: 23
Height/Weight: 4'2", 64 lbs.
Apperance: He's a short midget. John looks like a child except that his face is more developed. He was blue eyes and wears a pair of blue jeans and a plain white shirt. He doesn't like wearing anything less plain than that. John's hair is slightly curled and he has a small scar on his chin.
Gear: none
Occupation: Farmer
Class: Beastmaster
Bio: John was always left out as a child, he always felt lonely. Instead of trying to fit in, he tried to keep out. As he grew older, everyone gre faster than him, and he knew there was no way he could make friends now. He started making friends with the animals on his parent's farm. It seemed to him he could understand them, and they could understand him. When John was 15, his parents died because of a rampaging mage. He took over the farm, and runs it well with the help of the animals. One particular animal seemed to like him more than the others. It was a moogle he named Henry. One day it came flying out of a nearby forest, and John had taken it into his home to take care of it. John had always heard that moogles were shy, but for some reason Henry wasn't a bit afraid. John's best friend for his entire life had to be that moogle.
Just tell me anything that needs revising. And if I can't have a little moogle sidekick, can it at least be a chocobo?
TheSpiritOfVengance

Name: Janus Jecint
Caste: Lacaio
Age: 67
Height/Weight: 5'8" and 140 lbs
Apperance: He's a crazy old man, and he looks like one. His hair, once brown, is now silver and constantly disshelved, generally sticking up in random directions. There's usually a wild grin on his face, and his aged eyes twinkle with joy... or senility. He wears gray threadbare robes and a crooked 'wizard hat', which is also gray and worn down.
Gear: A walking staff, his robes, his hat, and that wild twinkle of senility in his eye.
Occupation: Adventurer.
Class: Wild Mage
Bio: Janus has always had two defining traits: mild insanity and a strong drive to learn everything he could about magic. Due to these two traits he began experimenting with the more raw and uncontrollable magical energies, which most mages wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole due to a healthy respect for their own lives. Although his years of training have left him quite skilled with magic, the type of magic he uses leaves his powers unpredictable, even to himself. He may, for instance, try to cast fireball and accidently cast an enhancement spell on an enemy, try to magically enhance a meal and destroy his home, or try to cast a magic missile and disintegrate the target. In addition, he has access to a few spells that normal mages do not, and which reflect the chaotic nature of his craft. Examples: Probability Shift (easy tasks become easier, and difficult tasks become more difficult), There/Not There (create subjective effect in which objects disappear and reappear randomly), and other chaotic spells.
However, the unpredictability of his magic and his special brand of eccentricity has forced him into a life of adventure. People generally don't like living next door to someone who blows up part of the neihborhood averaging once a month, and they certainly don't like hiring someone like that, as such, he survives on what he can gain in adventures. He's picked up a bit of a reputation thanks to his travels... mostly that reputation is favorable, although it has parts that make others wary of travelling with him.
He also has a disconcerting habit of using Random Dispatcher or Joyful Voyage on himself in order to escape problems. The reason this is disconcerting is because he has no control over where he ends up, which is to say he could, quite literally, send himself to hell or the middle of a troll encapment just to escape a couple orcs. He normally uses Joyful Voyage for this... but there are times he decides to take the bigger risk to get further away.
Edit: Two things... name is subject to change at this point, and I wouldn't mind being the 'rampaging mage' given the nature of wild magic, there's a chance he accidently destroyed a farm or two in his day.

Name: Koji Hidari
Caste: Duques (gray)(caste doesn't really apply to him)
Age: 26
Height/Weight: 5’ 11”, about 190 lbs.
Appearance: Think Ryu Hayabusa from Ninja Gaiden
Gear: a katana and shurikens
Occupation: Ninja
Class: Ninja
Bio: Koji was very close to royalty when he was born, but he didn’t like the way he was being raised and ran away at an early age. When he was about ten, a group of ninjas found him and took him in, not knowing much about him and not caring how the system works, giving him a false name to be raised under in their group. His false name isn’t what he was raised with, but he took it at his own, trying to forget his past. When he was about eighteen, he began his job as a ninja. His career has built up over the past eight years and he is very well known for those requesting assassinations.

Name: Alyan Facnobents
Caste: Top 5%, Real
Age: 24
Height: 6’
Weight: 190
(I’m bad at heights and weights)
Appearance: Long, flowing blood red hair. Enticing red eyes, ‘pretty boy’ face and a lean, but muscular body. Usually wears a long black cloak with a white shirt underneath and loose black pants. His Kitesnu blade sheath is on his right hip, the normal katana is on his left. A blue crystal ring is on his right hands ring finger. (He’s a pretty boy, tempted to use that Vlad vampire picture, but I’ve over used that…)
Gear: Kitesnu, a magic katana which can separate into two blades. Is a life draining sword, so Alyan must wear the magic ring he was given to him if he is to use the sword, but he can also drain others of life with it. Also has a normal katana.
Occupation: Aristocrat
Class: Blade Singer
Bio: Alyan was born into the royal family. So he’s never had to work a day in his life, and was raised with the best education and training. Being raised like this, Alyan is your typical snotty rich guy, though he is a little bit of a rebel (Will leave the fancy parties to do other things). In his weapons training however, he quickly became a sword master, and excelled in speed. A master Blade Singer was brought in to train Alyan, and trained he did. When he turned 22, Alyan defeated his master for the first time, meaning he had surpassed him. He was given his Kitesnu and Healing ring from his master before he disappeared, having taught Alyan all he can. Was also taught one spell from a mage, just to be 'well rounded'. (Haven't decided on a spell)

TheSpiritOfVengance

He copies. Lets say that Krylo just did a Magic Missle. You could do a magic missle andit would do the same amount of damage. Lazy attacks in some ninja fasion. You can do the same attack just as strong. The person just has to do it before you so you never get the oppritunity for a first strike but You will be able to do whatever anybody else does. The only problem is you never get to speak. But I will allow some sort of telepathic communication or if you could pull it off: sign language. Also you would ave a lot of gear but thats only if you choose mimic.

TheSpiritOfVengance

No you don't know it forever, but I will allow for some secondary skill that will make your guy be able to do it later possibly. The only class I do not allow is planeswalker. That is the only thing that is too god-modey for me.
EDIT here is my NPC who you guys will be dealing with
Name: Urza Xanadu or just Xanadu for short.
Caste: Vilão
Age: 27
Height/Weight: 7'0 ft 210 pounds
Apperance: Urza is a tall muscular built man with an Italian sort of complexion with a small well trimmed beard who wears an extremely long black Duster coat over a suite style shirt Linen pants with matching grey boots a commodor hat and black gloves.
Gear: A fencers sword, a staff, A utility belt with a variaty of Vials on it, two gauntlets and some "under armor" which is a magical chain mail shirt.
Occupation:Pirate, ex-Leader of the Vilão resistance movement Admiral of the Valhana fleet.
Class: Duelist and red mage.
Bio: Xanadu hates the upper class with a burning passion. When he was a pirate he would only attack ships marked in the Empirial navies colors and never take any prisoners. He was one of the founders of the resistance movment that originally planned to chant a doomsday spell over the royal palace to end the maddness once and for all. Then when the Resistance movements leader was assinated by a group of priests he took his place and was able to somehow form Valhana as a nation.
When he was young his parents taught him that he was direct descendant to one of the mages that saved the kingdom. Then after he applied to the fleet acadamey he scored the highest of any one in the history of the fleet. He was dropped do to the fact of his hair color and his scores were transferred to the emperor at the time. When he applied to mages school he was also turned down. Then seeing that his kingdom would not teach him wisdom he sought it out in his own heart.
When he returned home that fatefull dayy his home was destroyed. His parents killed. Ever since that day he has blamed the upper castes for this terrible deed and has trained himself for one thing. War.

04-02-2004, 12:27 AM
Out of curiousity... let's say my character fell victim to a wild surge, which is when one of his spells has a completely random effect outside of his control. If someone mimicked it, would the same effect happen, would the proper spell be cast, or would a, possibly different, random effect happen?
Edit: also, when mimicing in general something I do, because my character draws on wild magic which is uncontrollable, would they be drawing on the same thing, and thus have the same chance of a wild surge as I did... or would they automatically succeed in casting the right spell? Note: wild surges don't happen due to the failings of the mage... they're random.
Dante
04-02-2004, 12:28 AM
Probably another surge. Although I sure as hell wouldn;t want to mimic your Nahal's Reckless Dweomer.

Nahal's Reckless Dweomer I
Universal, Wild Magic
Level: Wild mage 1
Components: V,S (special)
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Special
Target: Special
Duration: Special
Saving Throw: Special
Spell Resistance: Special
Nahal, one of the pioneers of wild magic, developed a way to purposely create a wild surge, then seize the magical energies produced and duplicate the effects of any spells he knew. The result of his efforts are the Nahal's reckless dweomer spells. (A mishap involving this spell was reportedly the undoing of Nahal, but this rumor remains unconfirmed.)
Nahal's reckless dweomer I allows the wild mage to cast any 0-level or 1st level spell she knows (has recorded in her spellbook), though a wild surge automatically accompanies the spell's effect. The spell the wild mage attempts to duplicate (henceforth known as the target spell) has normal effect, except when the target spell's effects are altered in some way by the wild surge itself. requires both verbal and somatic components, even if the target spell doesn't normally require one or the other, and any material components the target spell requires must be used. The wild mage has some small degree of control over the surge produced by this spell, and can adjust the wild surge die result to direct its effects. The wild mage's [level/2] + [Int mod] is the amount she can add to, or subtract from, the die result when determining the effects of the wild surge (though the character needn't add/subtract the full amount, or adjust the roll at all). For example, a 7th level wild mage with an Intelligence of 17 (+3 modifier) can subtract 6 from the d% roll; a result of 64 on the wild surge table means the wild mage can pick any effect from 58 to 70. The Surge Control feat may be used to modify the roll (which means the character gets to modify the die result by [level/2] + [Int mod x 2]).
The subject can save against the target spell if it allows a save (any spell resistance applies normally). If using Nahal's reckless dweomer to cast a target spell the character currently has memorized, the subject's chances to be affected by the spell are normal. But if the caster tries to duplicate a spell he knows but doesn't have memorized, the caster's level is considered two lower for purposes of breaking through the subject's spell resistance (1d20 + [caster level] +2) and the save DC against the target spell's effect is 2 lower (8 + [spell level] + [Int mod]). The target spell consumes any components it normally would when it's cast through Nahal's reckless dweomer.
There are eight versions of this spell, one for 1st to 8th level (9th level spells are too powerful to be duplicated by such uncontrolled magic). All Nahal's reckless dweomer spells have dire consequences if used recklessly. All eight versions of this spell are meant to be cast as a last resort. If the fact that a wild surge occurs every time a Nahal's reckless dweomer spell is cast isn't enough to deter a wild mage from casting this spell willy-nilly, if a character gets a wild surge result (20) while casting this spell, the character must roll two wild surge results and can't modify the effects of either surge (as described above). The effects of the target spell are still duplicated (within these confines), though probably at great cost to the wild mage.

By means of an utterance, the subject of this spell is hurled to some other world or plane of existance. The plane is chosen randomly; the caster has no control over the destination of the subject. The subject is stranded there unless she possess some form of magic that will allow her to return to her home world. (This may be a moot point in some cases, especially if the subject lands in an extremely hostile plane like the Abyss, the Elemental Plane of Fire or the Negative Energy Plane.)

Wildwave
Evocation, Wild Magic
Level: Wild mage 9
Components: V,S
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Short (25' + [5'/2 levels])
Area: Wall
Duration: One round/3 levels
Saving Throw: Special
Spell Resistance: Yes
On the round the wild mage casts wildwave, a roiling, translucent, irredescent wall appears within spell range at a right angle to the caster. The wall is [10' x level] wide, and [1' x level] high. On the next round, the wall becomes 50% wider and higher and begins moving at a rate of 20' away from the caster. On the third round, the wall has swollen to double its original length and moves at a Speed of 40' per round; every round thereafter, the wall retains these dimensions and Speed and continues until the spell duration ends or the caster wills the spell to end. The wild mage has no control over how large the wall is, how fast it moves, who the wall does or doesn't affect, or the effects it produces; once wildwave is cast and the wild mage chooses where to start the wall, it's out of her hands.
Once the wildwave comes into contact with a creature, that creature immediately suffers 1d6 magical force damage for every 3 levels of the caster; a Fortitude save is allowed for half damage. Furthermore, the creature suffers the effects of a wild surge (surge effects are determined seperately for each creature) unless he succeeds on a Will save; all creatures are subject to this effect, not only spellcasters. For a number of rounds equal to 1d4 + [caster Int mod] afterward, those who failed their Will saves are treated as if under the effects of wildstrike (See spell description). Wild mages with Surge Control and/or Surge Protection can use these feats to affect a wild surge inflicted on them by wildwave. I think that's an alteration of WildWind that seems even more evil/fun.
Edit: I think I'll add a habit of using dispatcher on himself to escape problems to his bio.

That spell reminds me of Nybor's Joyful Voyage - Except that NJV takes another guy and randomly teleports him in some other direction. The voyage is joyful not for the victim... but for the caster.

... And what happens when he accidently transports himself to the Plane of Fire?
The subject is stranded there unless she possess some form of magic that will allow her to return to her home world. (This may be a moot point in some cases, especially if the subject lands in an extremely hostile plane like the Abyss, the Elemental Plane of Fire or the Negative Energy Plane.)
While it fits a Wild Mages personality, you would think they would wipe themselves out eventually that way...

And besides, I can't think of any good places to find wild magic now. And mind you, Nybor's Joyful Voyage is meant to be cast on other people, and the journey can be in ANY direction. IE straight up... falling from 5'000 feet isn't fun, or worse, straight DOWN, in which case you're pretty much fucked unless there's an open space where you appear.

I found a list of spells and Käsegott's Neon Hit Points
(Divination, Wild)
Level: 2
Range: 0 (Must be centred on caster)
Components: V, S, M
Duration: 1 round per 2 levels
Casting Time: 2
Area of Effect: 60' radius circle from caster
Saving Throw: None
This spell affects a number of creatures within the area of effect equal to half the casters level rounded up. The creatures affected are randomly determined from all creatures in the area of effect, not including the caster. Note that the spell does not discriminate between the caster's friends and foes.
The spell causes the targets' hit points to flash in a bright neon colour above the targets' head. This number will appear in the native language of the caster; anyone who can read this language can read the hit point number as well.
Creatures who are held, petrified, asleep, unconscious, or otherwise inactive are not included in the random determination. Creatures who are invisible, hiding in shadows, or otherwise unknown to the caster, are likewise not included. A creature under the effects of an illusion which the caster has not disbelieved will have the illusory hit points flash, rather than their actual hit point values.
The above restrictions only apply to the initial random determination of targets. If a creature affected by the spell becomes unconscious, petrified, invisible, etc., the hit points continue to flash over their head. If one of the targets was under the effect of an illusion and the caster subsequently disbelieves it (or its duration expires), the neon hit points will update to show the new perceived value.
Note that while the concept of hit points is one of game mechanics, and in actuality has no meaning the player characters observing this spell's effects, the number shown can be interpreted by the characters as a relative measure of strength and health of the creatures affected.
The material component of this spell is a small piece of coloured glass.
Can I cast that? Would it be ok? That spell's hillarious.
Also: Nybor is my hero... but I'm not using the names of the mages who made these spells in the RP, in order to keep reality differential.

Power Word, Castrate (Conjuration/Summoning)
Level: 8
Range: 5 yards/two level
Components: V
Duration: Permanent
Casting time: 8
Area of Effect: 10-foot-radius sphere
Saving Throw: None
When this spell is cast, one or more male creatures of any type
within the spell range and area of effect are castrated. The power word
castrates one creature with 60 hit points, or it castrates two or more
creatures with 10 or fewer hit points, up to a maximum of 120 hit
points. The option to attack a single creature, or multiple creatures,
must be stated along with the spell range and area of effect center.
The current hit points of the creatures are used.
Cupid's Chaotic Arrows
These arrows are the work of 'Irnar the chaotic mage (protege Morgan Blackheart of the Chaotic Realm). Sometimes while trying to enchant an arrow his mind wanders to perverse or romantic thoughts and the actual enchantment isn't quite what he wants. He sells such "rejects" to the local weapons store at discount prices (which are still quite high due to the power of most of them). The weapons dealers then sell the arrows to foolish adventurers. They advertise the arrows as "Gifts from the Love Gods", "Missile Weapons for the Mature", and "If You Like Chaos...". Then, the dealers inflate the price and make a bundle. The arrows are available infrequently and at high cost. (One of the most popular dealers is Secondhand Stan the Pawn and Porno Man).
These arrows are never predictable in their effects. Roll percentile dice and divide by three (round fractions consistently). Arrows may be used only once, at which time they disintegrate into a worthless pile of dust unless stated otherwise. A successful hit from an attack roll must be made to initiate an effect unless stated otherwise. They do not do damage unless stated otherwise.
Mainly chaotic characters use the arrows. Also, characters with a low wisdom tend to use them a lot more that others.
Effects:
1 The arrow is reflected back at the archer. Roll again to see the effects on the archer ignoring this result.
2 The victim's Charisma is increased by 1d6 to a max. of 18 for 1d4 days.
3 The victim's Comeliness is increased by 1d10 to a max. of 30 for 1d4 days.
4 The victim's Dexterity with respect to sexual ability increases 1d6 to a max. of 18 for 1d4 day.
5 The victim's Constitution with respect to sexual ability increases 1d6 to a max. of 18 for 1d4 day.
6 All clothing, armor, and personal belongings carried on the victim fall to ground leaving the victim naked.
7 The victim will fall in love with the first living creature of the opposite sex to meet his/her gaze and feel compelled to follow the creature for 1d4 days in hope to win her/his love.
8 The victim will fall in love with the first living creature of the opposite sex of the same race to meet his/her gaze and feel compelled to follow the creature for 1d4 days in hope to win her/his love.
9 The victim goes into a melancholy depression for 1d4 days during which he/she feels compelled to recite and attempt to write love poetry.
10 The victim becomes infatuated with himself/herself for 1d4. He/She spends a lot of his/her money on mirrors, fine clothing, perfumes, cosmetics, etc..
11 The victim feels the urge to kiss a living creature of the opposite sex and same race, and will make every attempt to do so.
12 The victim feels the "urge to merge" a living creature of the opposite sex and same race, and will make every attempt to do so.
13 "Love is blind" so victim becomes blind for 1d4 days.
14 The victim becomes "drunk on love". Therefore, he/she is affected as if intoxicated for 1d4 days.
15 The victim becomes "crazed with love" for 1d4 hours. Thus, he/she is confused. Roll 1d10 for the results:
1 Wander away (unless prevented)
2-6 Stand confused one turn (then roll again)
7-9 Attack nearest creature for 1 turn (then roll again)
10 Act normally for 1 turn (then roll again)
16 The victim becomes "love struck" for 1d4 days. Thus, he/she goes into a state of suspended animation. This cessation of time means that the victim does not grow older. His/her body functions virtually cease.
17 "Nothin' says lovin' like a bun in the oven", so female victims become impregnated. Roll 1d10 to find out what the child is:
1-5 same race as parent
6-9 other common race (elf, human, dwarf, halfling, etc.)
10 Demon
Male victims suffer 4d6 points of damage as punishment for going around and getting innocent females pregnant.
18 "Say love with the gift that lasts: a diamond". The tip of the arrow turns into a diamond during its flight. The recipient's Armor Class becomes 10 due to the piercing of the diamond (dexterity bonuses still apply). The diamond-tipped arrow inflicts 1d10 points of damage. The diamond is worth roughly 1d4 X 1000 silver pieces.
19 "Love is in the eyes of the beholder". During the flight of the arrow, it becomes a 70 hp beholder (Monstrous Compendium Vol. 1) and attacks the intended recipient of the arrow. Upon the victim's destruction, the beholder will attack randomly.
20 The victim begins dancing for 1d4+1 rounds, complete with feet shuffling and tapping. This dance makes it impossible for the victim to do anything other than caper and prance; this cavorting worsens the Armor Class of the victim by -4, makes saving throws impossible except on a roll of 20, and negates any consideration of a shield.
21 The victim has the urge to become a prostitute and will attempt to fulfill this urge for 1d4 days.
22 The victim contracts a random normal sexual disease.
23 The victim contracts a random magical sexual disease.
24 The victim contracts a random sexual insanity.
25 The victim attracts frogs for 1d4 days. The frogs are plain, ordinary frogs whether you kiss them or not.
26 If the victim is male, he develops large breasts for 1d4 days. If the victim is female, she develops an enormous amount of body hair and will prefer to urinate standing up.
27 The arrow is a Heartbreaker. The arrow turns into a lightning bolt that inflicts 10d6 points of damage upon contact. A successful save vs. spell reduces the damage to half (round fractions down).
28 The arrow is a Screamer. The whistling sound is like the sound of a bomb falling, but without any effect whatsoever. Normal damage.
29 The arrow becomes semi-intelligent with a great knowledge of poetry equal to a bard's. It will constantly follow the victim around receipting all forms of love poetry.
30 The arrow turns into a rose upon contact.

Name: Damarus Karal
Caste: Real
Age: 25
Height/Weight: 6'2" and 170 lbs
Apperance: A tall, red-haired man, Damarus walks easily and jauntily, as though daring anyone to harm him. He usually wears heavy plate armor forged of red jade, magically enchanted so that it weighs little more than a suit of normal clothing, but he carries no visible weapons apart from the gauntlets of his armor. He projects an air of invulnerability and confidence, and many who try to strike him find themselves unable to do so, instead dropping to one knee before him.
Gear:
The Most Fearsome Armor of the Fire Dragon
This suit of magical armor was designed for fast-moving ground combat, and when Damarus wills it, he is able to move amazingly fast, so much so that he leaves a trail of flame in his wake. In addition, on command, the heavily armored vambraces allows them to either grow a pair of massive fire claws, which are solid enough to block and be blocked by material defenses. The claws can also be turned into a pair of flamethrowers if the situation demands it, though this would certainly consume a lot of the user' strength. In addition, the armor is also enchanted to always remain cool and easy to wear, and it allows its user True Seeing, in a 360 degree radius.
Occupation: Adventurer.
Class: Mimic(with telepathic abilities)
Bio: One of the Real royal caste, Damarus was not content with staying in the palace even as a child. After being sent away to one of the outlying provinces, he demonstrated a talent for psionics, specifically telepathy, and he received training in this and Tiger-style martial arts in the city where he spent his childhood. However, Damarus had a secret deeper and darker than this.
Damarus found that he could imitate the magic and skills of the people around him, though he didn't retain the memory for long. He didn't tell anyone, though. This was his secret, and a final trump card in case he ever needed it. He soon found that he hated his bossy caretakers, and frequently slipped out of the palace after "convincing" the guards that he had permission to go. He soon developed a love for exploring the world, and interacting with the common man, though still treated them as vassals rather than equals.
When he returned to the palace, he immediately volunteered to serve as the royal family's representative at large, and thus he is usually found waandering the country, always looking for a new place to go, a new song to sing, or a new maiden to seduce. He enjoys life, and with his skill in psionics, he is pretty much assured of getting what he wants when he wants it. On the few occasions when he has been forced into physical violence, he has devastated his foes with the flaming claws or fiery streams of the Fire Dragon's Armor.
Note: I think this guy is rather overpowered... nevertheless I will leave judgement up to Spirit. He carries himself like a Prince of the Earth, and his psychic powers mostly consist of dominating his enemies into submission or tearing their minds apart. His mimicry is a side talent, but he has not had chances to prove himself against very dangerous adversaries yet.

Why exactly does a mimic have a suit of armor that is completely not a mimic thing? I would think he would have no gear at all and just mimic everything. And it's a bit much anyway.
And Spirit said telepathic communication, not dominating mind powers.
Mimicary is supposed to be his main talent.

OH, OH me! me! me!
Name: Luric ("rick") Kenelas
Caste: Sacerdote
Age: 26
Height/Weight: 6'3" 190lbs
Apperance: He has a slim, well muscled and athletic frame, toned from years of martial training to complement his divine magics. Strikingly orange hair is kept perpetually spiked into whatever happens to be the style of the morning. He has a well trimmed goatee that is braided into three 3 inch lengths (a la Jack Sparrow). He wears a fine, middleweight plate armor, itself decorated with religious symbols and protections in the name of the gods of valor. His eyes shine green in the day or night, and olive toned skin serves as a backdrop for it all.
Gear:
Plate of the True(middleweight half plate)-Provided for him by monks of the Valorous deities after an encounter with demons in their mountain temple, it is a polished suit of plate with platinum inlays that have a faint blue glow in the darkness. The armor is custom fitted and quite light and durable.
Celith's mantle of Courage (enchanted circlet)- A smallt, silver circlet inlaid with gold inscriptions and blessings from the high preist of the god of courage. The magic it holds provides him with a few protections, to include:
Protection from fear (can be dispelled, but returns in a minute or two)
Protection from Evil (Same as above)
-it also confers a slight armor bonus, in lieu of a helm.
Cold edge (Longsword)- A well made longsword he has carried for years in the name of the good gods of war, striving to earn the favor of the martial deities, that he might better smite evil. It presently has no notable enchantments.
Occupation: Cleric
Class: Cleric
Bio:
-Luric has goodness in his blood. His own family, too, was of the holy order dedicated to the deities of virtue, courage, and power, and the precepts thereof. Goodness suffuses almost every fiber of his being, and thus has little love for cheats, vandals, perverts and murderers, as one might expect.
-He was taught the principles of his family at a young age, and found a strange ease in accepting them. It simply fit; he was a child meant entirely to do what he does.
-During his time away, learning in the numerous academies and temples across the land, Luric showed exceptional skill with the smiting powers of divne magic. The relish he took and skill he had in borrowing the gods' power for good ends brought him early favor from elements high in the church, who hastened his ascension in title and power, an acceleration that he more than kept up with. At one point, he became magnanimous almost to a fault, spending a year of his young life in one place at a time, refusing to leave until the people he swore to serve (all free people)were in good health and happiness.
-As may be assumed, he has no one place where he finds himself returning to, save his home or wherever the local temple happens to be. He's lucky to have a robust family who are all still alive. His sister is on mission, just as he, and his mother and father serve as head preist and preistess of the large temple in his home city.
Spells- Smiting is his business, and business is good. Luric is proficient in defensive magic, but excels at offensive power. He has studied the two ends of the spectrum of destruction: Causing it and repairing it, which is to say that he can hurt and heal, and not a whole lot else.
Cleansing flame- Think flamestrike. A pillar of flame from the heavens strikes down evil with the searing heat of holy justice. This is extremely draining.
earthly revolt- Tendrils from the earth burst from the ground in revulsion of the evil of the enemy they grab and bind tightly.
Divine Call- Think Holy Word. Luric speaks aloud a damning prayer in the native tongue of the celestial planes (if we don't have such things, let me know and I'll change this), blinding, deafening, and possibly killing those rife with sin. Those with lesser smirches on their records are merely stunned. Being a fallible mortal, Luric as well is stunned by this magic.
Light of the heavens- Think Holy bolt. A primary mode of ranged attack for Luric, this sends spheres of pure light streaking from his hands, that char the flesh of those of evil intent, and invigorate those who follow the path of goodness. This can also be used to temporarily charge his blade. This magic drains a fair amount of strength per each sphere.
Regeneration- This is a potent healing spell that can repair the most dire of wounds by fully regrowing a damaged organ or bone, and removing internal bleeding and such. Use of such a power is limited, for the sake of his safety, to no more than thrice a day.
Revive- Standard ressurection. Only works on someone who has been dead no more than a week, and whose body still maintains a humanoid appearance. This is a complex and extremely difficult spell, and is not guaranteed to work, but brings the affected person back to life, with all the physical characteristics it had before being killed.
Heal- A smaller healing spell that only repairs small to medium sized cuts, scrapes, punctures, and aches.

Ok, I think I’ve put off posting my character long enough. I'll post him by 6:00 (-8 GMT).
One question though, what resource are we using to get these spells and enchanted items?

Well, as that my guy is a wild mage, which is a D&D class, I found the spells on various D&D websites that had wild magic included.

Also, is anyone else distrubed by Ranger's many female roles he's been taking lately?
I would have put up a fight to this, but since krylo mentioned the possibility of you goobers hitting on me...mleh...that's not cool. Either way, i just hink the RP world needs more chicks.

I agree with Adian. But there would be no way I would play one. Also in unrelated news Hellboy is awesome. And I really don't know yet about even having an elf. So there maybe or may not be. It depends on if somebody wants to be. Also I promisied you another character and I have one. As for your spells just make them detailed enough so we know exactly what they do.
Name Magus Firehert
Caste Real
Age: 19
Height/Weight:5'10 170
Apperance:He has an olive complexion, is fairly lanky, a scar of his right eye from his oldest brother (the current emperor) wears very ornate outfits and a black robe with a red rose on the back and has several tatoos...
Gear: A scepter, a sword, Armor of the 5th in line to the throne, An Ivory mask with a Red Rose on it. . Has Gauntlets with his crest on it ( a Red Rose.)
Occupation: Prince (5th in line to throne.)
Class: Red Mage.
Bio: Most people think that the real class are extremely stuck up and are generally bossy, but hard working. Magus is living proof. He is the most picked on member of the royal family do to his weakness as a child. Eversince then he has been overcompensating for his past. At the age 7 he started to study magic and the occult, and has been adept ever since the age 14. He started martial arts and sword play with bladesinger and monk alike, but unlike most others in the real class he does not rest. He is constantly trying to better himself physically magic wise and mentally.
When his brother dissaperad at first he was happy then when he found out his other brother who he hated most would be emperor he decided to hire people to find him so he could break his older brothers wishes.
IHMN your character would probably have met this guy before and maybe even studied or practiced swordplay with him, just so you know.

Basically when i saw this RP i thought, "Hey! I'll RP Ronfar! That should be fun!" So that's what i'm basically doing, with some slight modifications so that he'll fit into this world.
Name: Craus Alomawyth
Caste: Sacerdote
Age: 29
Height/Weight: 5' 10" 200 pounds
Appearance: http://www.imageshack.us/img2/2016/ronfar1.jpg
Gear: Lucky Holy Bandana (it used to be just his lucky bandana untill he decided to dunk it in some holy water, now he claims it’s holy too)
Rigged Dice (they always fall the way he want’s them to)
Occupation: Part time cleric, dock worker, and gambler.
Class: Cleric
Bio: Drunkard, swindler, Womanizer. Not the kind of words one would normally associate with a cleric.
Craus became somewhat of a black sheep among the Sacerdote caste when he voiced his liberal views on the equality of the castes and claimed (among other things) that a sick Vilão had just a much right to the aid of a cleric as a sick Real. Since the Clergy officially valued all life equally they couldn’t excommunicate Craus, but they did the next best thing and assigned to the worst posts they could find. Craus has toured the slums of the empire and has become very adept at not only his clerical skills of healing, but also at the other skills involved with surviving in the slums. During his first post he developed a taste for the sacrament, and during his second post he had to take up gambling to keep the alcohol flowing. Eventually, when he realized that the Clergy couldn’t give a damn about him any more, he pretty much dropped all attempts of being a cleric and just became a mid to late 20's man, looking for a good time, thus he became a lecher.
Contrary to what many might believe, Craus’s magical abilities have not diminished while on the street. His abilities have in fact increased, since he’s embedded within the working class he’s had much more call for his abilities and he is regularly called upon for his restorative powers. Additional, Craus has improved physically as well, building up a frame that most would confuse for a warrior, this however, is due in part to having to be a part time dock worker to pay off his drinking bills (before he learned to cheat at gambling of course) and also because of the frequent bar fights he gets into (this was after he learned to cheat at gambling).
Abilities: Craus has learned to adapt and develop his abilities to suit his environment, thus he learned to condense many spells into single spells (eg. Devine Litany, Ensuna Litany, Escape Litany, Devine Litany) and other spells he built up in power (Heal Litany, Saint Litany). In some cases he has even made up completely new spells to suit his purposes (Inner fire, Anger Dice, Escape Litany). Most of his other spells taught to him at the clerical school have either been forgotten of become very weak.
Escape Litany - A multi propose escape spell designed to help him sound more convincing when attempting to talk his way out of things, or if that fails, it cast illusions to help him flee.
Heal Litany - Your standard healing spell, targets physical damage (cuts, bruises, broken bones, ect...). Very powerfull
Ensuna Litany - Just like ensuna from final fantasy, heals status effects (poison, blind, confuse, ect...)
Saint Litany - Your basic Revive spell.
Divine Litany - An all purpose protection spell. Powerfull.
Holy Ward - Imbues a target item with holy power. Craus’s is very weak.
Tranquil Litany - Calms a single target or group of targets eventually into a slumber. Craus’s is very weak, despite how much he wishes otherwise.
Reflect - A magic reflect spell, Craus’s is very weak.
Anger Dice - A magic attack controlled through his dice, he rolls the dice in his hand and the higher number he gets, the more powerful the fireball attack.
Cleansing Litany - Attacks with “Holy” power, destroying any with sin (ie. Everyone). Craus’s is very weak.
Inner Fire - Boosts the strength and willpower of the target.
Edit - Oh yea, i forgot to mention that he's more adept at fighting than your average cleric...ok, he's more adept at brawling, but just so it's out in the open right now, he can hold his own in most fights and he uses the anything goes style of martial arts taught at the school of hard knocks...if you get my meaning.

Dante's no longer playing a mimic, right?
*Sigh* Time to see if this works.
Name: Truce
Caste: Vilão
Age: 18
Height/Weight: 5'8" and 145 lbs.
Appearance: Long blonde hair, azure eyes, and not very masculine. Often mistaken for a pretty girl, the fact that he doesnt talk at all and is very timid doesn't help him. He chooses to wear robes that covers his entire body.
Gear: Leather Gloves and Leather boots, more for speed than for protection.
Occupation: Entertainer
Class: Mimic
Bio: He's been an orphan for most of his life, his only memories of his parents being vagure and short. Luckily for him a family friend, a young woman called Cola, took him in and raised him like he was her own son.
Anyway, to make a long story short, Cola, an entertainer, decided to teach her adopted child the ways of the mimic and Truce, after learning all his mentor could teach, decided to go out into the world to perfect his skills.

Ok... so we have one guy playing as a girl... and one guy playing as a guy that looks like a pretty girl... and a perverted priest. Ahh... humor shall most definately ensue, so long as Gato doesn't mind being as perverted as his character should be... and it takes awhile for Ecurt's guy to mention that he does, indeed, have a penis.
Truce
04-03-2004, 10:08 AM
*nods* It'll be kinda hard for him to do that too, considering mimes don't speak, and if they do it's rarely.
Now we need to get Celes in here with a character, and then this would be complete.
Celes' Character: Come on, it's time for everyone to take a bath and we girls don't want to do that with all these guys around, do we? *Drags Truce away, skipping and humming for some reason*
Truce: ... I'm not a...oh, nevermind...
Perverted Monk (can't remember name right now): *Sneaks off* Time to watch some hot girl on girl action!
Someone: You think we should tell them he's a guy?
Someone...else: Let them find out on their own.

^_^; I wasn't being serious. It's not like Celes would want to do anything like that anyway; everyone knows what kind of comments would assault her afterwards. It's still fun joking about it though.
Besides, in every anime I've seen girls always take baths in the hotspring together, and this seems animeish...

Even in anime, it is at least five episodes between the meeting of the girls and their bath (Except some of the more perverted/hentai ones).
And Spirit, there is a 90% chance Celes will join when she gets back, and some one else will.
Edit - The best pervert of the group would be my guy anyway. A couple of quick slashes, no clothes for the girls.
And I hope krylo's guy is a dirty, perverted old man...

Awesome. I am so happy I will post a new NPC. Also I bought tickets to the premier of Kill Bill Vol 2 in STL! BOOYA! I get to see it before everone else (except others who are going that night) in saint louis!
Name: Mikaliea Siteliev
Caste: ? (his hood covers his head but he does have a Real seeming accent)
Age: 26? He is fairly strong and agile but speaks with lots of wisdom so its kind of a guessing game...
Height/Weight 5'8 160 pounds
Apperance: He has a medium build Muscular but not to tall. He wears a hood a scarf or something covering his lower face so that covers everything on his head except his creepy fiery red eyes. He wears a pair of gloves, a chainmail vest a brown lonsleeved shirt a white undershirt, linen pants and brown boots like that used by soldiers.
Gear: He has two butterfly swords (Kind of short single edged bastard swords) that took a ton of skill to make and have very ornate markings and designs. He has a pair of gaunlets that are also of high quality craftsmanship. He also has a dagger made of solid platinum. He carries a small bag with some survival gear in it.
Occupation None known of.
Class By his fighting style blade singer.
Bio There isn't much known of Mikaliea (if thats his real name.) However there is a lot known of his legendary style. According to some legends he was able to take on a whole regiment of army regulars who made the mistake of taking him as POW. His two blade style is often immitaed but never duplicated. He has won several duels with may a person and nobody has ever seen his face and lived to tell. He is insanely fast moving and has an equally fast wit. Those that think he is just your regular dueling romper have been smoth by his signature spell.

Dragon Pink?...Yes. And, although I know I shouldn't be surprised at all, I am a bit amazed that you knew that.
And I'm not completely sure how perverted my character will be. I'm thinking he'll be somewhat like Zifnab/Fizban of the Dragonlance/Death Gate Cycle fames. But... knowing me... and knowing he's insane... and old... there will probably be some pervertedness as well... at least if Gato seems to be slacking off.

Alright I will put up the RP on Three days from today seeing that we might have some late entries and I want everyone present at the same time. Also I will give it to you straight...he is not a blade singer. He is actually more of a ranger that isn't so sucky. (Up until DnD 3.5 Rangers weren't all that good.) He just fights as good as or better than most blade singers. But if you want to kick his ass that is fine by me. Also if anyone wants some of there tale worked in (I.E. IHateMakingNames
04-04-2004, 09:57 PM
I don't like the ninja one... Chances of an entire clan being slaughtered and only one surviver is not likely. Either there would be many survivers, or they would all be dead.
And it's way to cliche to use.
Forever Zero
04-04-2004, 09:59 PM
Maybe he was on the Ninja Can at the time of the brutal slaying, and they figured, "What are the chances there will be a Ninja in the bathroom when we come to slay them all!" so they never bothered to check...

I was thinking more than one survivor. Just because I'm copying Ninja Gaiden doesn't mean it has to be up to every single detail. And the cliche is all part of it because I don't like to think.

I was probably just going to make an attack that was rebuffed but there were several clan members killed. Also IHMN since this is so anime esq I will refer to the inverse ninja law. Ahem.
The Inverse Ninja Law
The more ninjas there are the more likely they are to fail.
The lesser the ninjas the more likely they are to succeed.
This law only applies to Japanese Animation in general.
But Who knows I may or may not use it. Only time will tell...

If this is anime-esque, then at some point the group will be attacked by either A) A tenticale monster which will either knock out the group, injure them so they can't move, or tie them up then have it's way to the female character(s) (Some NPC may need to be added in),
or B) A group of bandits will attack the group and tie them up, and either 1) They will play around with the female characters for a bit, but never penetrate, then the males will escape and kill them all, who will then have sex with the female characters out of thanks (Only the pretty ones though, both male and female), or 2) The bandits will rape the girls while the guys watch, and once they are done the men will then escape and slaughter then.
