Yes, RMB here and I'm calling to attention any and all members who might be interested and have character persona's for use. The gist of the project? The impossible for the community forum I frequent the most. Gathering what artists I can and voice actors I can, I plan on creating an entire cartoon for NPF using everyone's characters.
It will only span one episode roughly 25 minutes with maybe some joke commercials, but I plan on fitting as many people as I can into it and every piece of the episode will involve certain strings of the forum, probably excluding the RaiRO and RP sections. Maybe the forum games section for the hell of it.
While I expect this to take a long time to do, I plan on a budget of over $1000-$2000 to pay out depending on how many people participate. Though as always, volunteers are always welcome. I have my mind set on completing this project and becoming a nice little thing for NPF to be remembered for.
While I may also be asking for volunteers and other people who want to participate, I also want to hear suggestions. I'm trying to plan out the episode, but I can't without knowing who would want to be in it.

I'd be down for it, if vocal parts aren't nessessary.
And would it be hand-drawn parts, like in Mauve's, or would it be a sprite movie?

I've got a pretty well outlined persona-guy-thing (and spritesheets!), but I'd feel a little silly being in a movie for a forum I've been out-of-touch with lately. I gotta fix that.
That aside, I'd love to see where this goes. Maybe some place awesome!
I'd be up for doing a voice acting thing.

...oh yeah, voicing. Well, I've already exposed my terrible vocalizations on ventrilo, I don't see why I couldn't talk in an NPF movie. Unless it kills people maybe.

I'd be happy to help wherever possible. But my own budget is tight right now and I don't have a mic. I may or may not have a mic in the foreseeable future.
And I'm all for giving Loyal more airtime. :)

I'd be up for it. I really wish I had a better start on my 16-bit sheet (which is really daunting me right now :sweatdrop ), but I'll put up all I have for my normal 8-bit sprites. I've got a lot for Jay (the main and self-placement character), but not so much for Todd (representing Phantom7). Really, anything past Jay will require some work on my part, since I've been rebuilding my comic sprites at leisure up 'till now.
Also, I'd LOVE to do voice work! :D
Edit: I'm posting my most recent sprite sheet in the appropriate thread. I held a few poses back originally, but they're now redone and added.

Flare: All drawn, much like that of cartoon on tv, all hand drawn or tablet drawn, whichever suits the team in charge of drawing. Though of course, I would need concept art from all the artists so we can agree on a style.
Everyone else: Well, I'm glad to hear people offering voice, though I might have to cut back the budget a bit unless we get enough people. If I get too many people, I'll have to increase the budget for a fair share between everyone.
Though I'm going to be frank, the voice actors are probably going to get a smaller cut then the artists since there probably will be more of them. Though I'm also going to have to ask for concept art of your characters if you do decide to participate.
I'll be damned if this project isn't going to make it off the ground. Cause I'm going to make it happen.

Well, if I get a PO box in the future I might ask for money but at this stage I'm expecting nothing. I'll send a character sketch in the near future, hopefully I'll have internet time this week.

Well, if I'm going to ask for concepts, they should be of the style you WANT to use for the cartoon. If anything, I might have to set up a Paypal account especially for this. Of course, that would mean other people would have to set up accounts as well, though if they can't we can still organize a payment method.
Even if some of you guys claim to 'work for free', pay is going to be decided by how much time I ask of you guys to do this. Like, how much time I'm going to need for people to dedicate.
As I said, I planned a full episode, 25 minutes. Though if we don't have the manpower or the talent needed, I'm going to shorten it to at least 15 minutes, maybe with some commercials for people who want to advertise something funny.

Im 100% in, if you need any help, let me know.
Rokrin

Oh god am I up for this.
I can flesh Rokrin into a role in 10 minutes and have a role ready for him in 22 seconds. :p
EDIT: Mock commercials? You should make one that spoofs the WoW commericals with Shatner and Mr. T and explains how Jesus is god's alt.

I would be happy to volunteer my voice, and even offer to clean up anyone else's recordings (eliminate hissing and pops, etc. I do it manually, as filters kinda suck). Other than that I can't really commit anything. I've too many of my own projects that require my attention as it is.

Hey, it's great to hear people offering voices, though what we REALLY need right now is artists. People who can commit maybe a few hours a night(or week) to helping draw scenes.
Bells

THAT is going to be your major problem, since we have more Spriters than Drawing artists around here. Specially since you are going to need a small team. at least a pair.
So, while people get to know the project here (afterall it is fairly new) my suggestion to you is to check out the option of outsourcing artists

Since I wont do any real work, I can voice for free.

I'm not an artist (at all), but I do fancy myself somewhat of a writer (I'm sure that the people in the RP forum would disagree), so when/if the time comes you need help with the script or with ideas or anything, I'd be willing to help if I could.
And you can throw in my persona if you want...not that I can really think of what you would do with it, other than kill me somewhere in the background.

I'm in, although like most people were saying, I probably won't be much help. I'm not an artist. I'd be willing to do voicing, but I've never done any before, so I'd probably be bad at it.

I've got talents in photoshop, voice acting, scripting, writing, and as an idea bounce, but unless you need me for those skills I have nothing.
Just let me know if my talents are needed.

You know, we do have a few resident artists here. I'd suggest trying to contact some people from the sketch thread. For a few people in particular, I'd say Mauve Mage, Khael!, Shiriya Draconir (from her work in the comic thread), Celes, CelesJessa, Savage Thinking, and basically anyone else in there who's posted recently. Myself excluded. When it comes to rooms and scenery, I'm great at basic design, not so great with actually drawing something that doesn't look like crap. And my character art is, well, not up to par with making animated sequences. :sweatdrop

Actually I was gonna jump all over this with drawing power, but I am not an animator. Those two things are very different, I've tried. Having never learned to use flash doesn't help either, though I'd have to get the program anyway.
Well, maybe, but at this stage my work would be so slow it'd be kind of funny. Not very fun to watch I'd imagine, but that's because my main programs for arting are photoshop and alias sketchbook. But who knows? I don't even know what the deadlines are like yet, maybe I shouldn't be so quick to say no.
If there are too many voice people, feel free to ditch me. It's not that big a deal to me. I mostly wanted a cameo because I always wanted to be in a cartoon for some reason.

Actually, I planned on trying to fit in as many NPF persona's that we have, which is a lot. Though I might have to cut it down, maybe a cameo for people who are no longer here that won't need voices. The episode won't focus on any specific NPFers, it'll probably a series of situations with different people. It would of course end with a big group photo of everyone who appeared, doing whatever pose you so choose.
Yes, as big as this project looked before, it might have just gotten bigger with what I just said.

I can animate like nobody's business in Flash. Can't draw worth a damn though. I can also voice act, and I'd work entirely for free. I don't really have a forum "persona" (in the "My guy looks like this, acts like this and can do this" type of thing) but... I dunno. Just saying what I could do to help.

I'm not entirely sure it can be done in flash since the file I think would be much too big to do in one go. So maybe, I thought of this, we could do it in parts instead. Maybe five minutes at a time with six parts? I think that would be better in order to give the artists time to recuperate in between parts.
I think that sounds much better. Though I'd hate to ask him, but I'd at least love to give Brian a shout out to lend a voice, maybe if only a few second cameo.

A multi-part series is a genius approach to the whole thing. Much more manageable.

I may as well say this: I'd be willing to work for free. I mean, heck, it's NPF, right? Unless you'd be, like, selling video tapes of it all or something, in which case I'd definitely want compensation. But if it is what it sounds like, by which I mean just a fun project that you want to do and would just so happen to be willing to pay for, having fun actually voice acting and seeing the finished product is compensation enough. :)

I think that'd be true of most people. I doubt too many of us are gonna demand payment for this kind of thing. Most people are just happy to be included.
Now, your animators on the other hand...

I'm mostly a spriter in Paint, but damn, have I got good writing skills. Plus, the internet is my bitch. I can find any sort of background you need in under ten minutes. And I've done a little bit of voice-work with Big Mac, though it's still hush-hush on what it was for.
Otherwise, I'm drawin' a blank here as to how I can help.
Red Mage Black
06-26-2008, 02:25 PM
Yeah, it's animators I'm going to have to uh... maybe outsource on. I mean, it's great a good amount of you guys are willing to work for free. I just need artists and I know about a good three fourths of the artists on NPF are still in college or have... GASP... jobs. I'd also love for artists to volunteer, though I won't refuse payment if that's what you want.
Now, I just need to find said people with the talent for drawing.

I know the very basics of Flash (tweening, designating symbols/movie clips/grapics/buttons etc, VERY basic action script, exporting to Dreamweaver, layers, onion skins, etc), and I know "real" stop-action and craptastic Movie Maker animation. I'm reasonably competent at drawing figures, if not backgrounds. I have a really crappy mic, but I can do voices.
Can't promise too much, since I work full time at inconvenient hours.

I can do anything as long as it doesn't involve drawing with my hand. Maybe with sprites, but not my hand.
It cannot create, it can only DESTROY. My left hand can make flowers grow and cure cancer, but I don't use my left hand because it sucks.
Voices, full use of my character, and any script writing is possible from me. I'm also silly, I've been told.

Ah, I shouldn't write these things at one in the morning. Clarification: I know how to use Flash, but I just realized that I no longer have access to Flash software. -_- So uh... if you're usin' Flash, I can help anyone who needs really basic questions answered, but I can't animate it.
