View Full Version : Movie Music
Meet the song that's been stuck in my head since I've heard it. (http://youtube.com/watch?v=pgbPcSO9AlE)
I'm that guy you see in the music store buying movie soundtracks. I mean - the music can be just a great song, a defining undertone to a really awesome scene, or just a catchy little ditty. The rarest in my collection - or so I'm told - is The Crow, Pulp Fiction and Romeo + Juliet. (I love Baz Lhurman's movies/music)
Got anything you guys wanna add to the list of great film music?

Well, I'm a fan of Danny Elfman. I like pretty much all his stuff.
Also, I like Thomas Newman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Newman), especially the music he did for The Shawshank Redemption (http://youtube.com/watch?v=SEUXKiOm0Ps).

The soundtrack to Walk Hard is absolute genius.

All These Things That I've Done by The Killers is put to great use in Southland Tales. Hell, all the music in that move (and Donnie Darko, for that matter) is amazing.

Funny enough, I am also listening to Juno's soundtrack right now.
It's pretty good.
I didn't buy it though. And I can't say I often buy or even download soundtracks for movies. Just occasionally.

For what it's worth mentioning, the only part of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy film that I wholeheartedly enjoyed was the soundtrack (altho' I only really bought it for the version of "Journey of the Sorceror" on it).

Phillip Glass. Not just his movie music either.
Bear McReary (not so much movie as a television series though).
I enjoy the soundtracks to the Kill Bill movies too. >_>
