I don't recall seeing any thread(s) about Paul Robertson (http://probertson.livejournal.com/), possibly one of Australia's national treasures.

Seriously, if you have not heard of him before [or forget], here are some gems (the following are YouTube links, but you can definitely download high-quality versions of at least Pirate Baby's Cabana Street Fight 2006 and Kings of Power 4 Billion %, both of which I have):

Devil Eyes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JFbceSyo-Xg)
Do the Whirlwind (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MJYsvg7zMM)
The Magic Touch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBi3Do9ATQA)
Hyper Parsnip Bitches (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdDldH9IHco) (an earlier one with lousy voice acting, skip if you want)
Kings of Power 4 Billion % trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3egC9LzrCwY)

In any case, I like to bring him up with folks now and again and generally enjoy his work. I have yet to see anyone else who produces good stuff like this, but that doesn't mean it isn't out there. Some have likened his style to Maple Story, and I believe he does draw from that.

Regardless, his work's good for a little bit of entertainment in your day, even if it makes no immediate sense. He puts a lot of detail in what at first glance looks like a simple medium - the way many of them look like side-scrolling games, how the pixel-sprite style still conveys distinct character appearances and expressions, and the attention to detail in the backgrounds and actions. I love it.

So do I. I should certainly hope there are similar artists.

Also,

where?

I'd never seen Hyper Parsnip Bitches before... yeah, dropping the voice acting probably was one of the better decisions he made. It's not extraordinarily bad but the ones without voice acting are much, much better.

Devil Eyes is totally the best though.

I like Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006 (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=908674814285543652), myself. Bloody as hell, too!

Also,

where?

Huh, good question. I do have copies on my various hard drives.

Ah, a quick hop through Google's tubes reveals (http://probertson.livejournal.com/18096.html) at least one (http://www.selectparks.net/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownloaddetails&lid=73&title=Pirate%20Baby's%20Cabana%20Battle%20Street%2 0Fight) or two (http://all-things-go.blogspot.com/2006/04/pirate-babys-cabana-battle-street.html) places to get it. ;) [I'd recommend the second link off the post from his own journal - seems more "official" that way.]

I really like Do the Whirlwind 'cause of the various characters. Zombie girl go!

Is it just me or do his fighting game videos seem to be more fun than actual fighting games?

I would love to play Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006.
