This isn't every horror movie you've ever seen. This is a special power of the Lurker to use it's magic points to revive a dead body as a servent. David technically isn't a Zombie in the normal sense, he is a dead body the Lurker is controlling and moving around.

Sanity checks in, I will post them in the RP and here. Then I will rule on Demon's scenario, and what krylo just did.

Some guns can shoot 3 times, some 2, and some 1. Frankie has one of those low caliber but high quantity of firepower ratio guns.

That is just because Zombies are hard to kill with guns. If they had a shotgun or melee weapons, it would be easier.

I was thinking about a private eye that is hired to look into the mysterious dissapearance of famed novelist Gabriel Valentine.

It would give him a hook to get into the group and start his own Mythos investigations.

Something like that. I would never pull a 'For a Better Tommorow' Clone Brother switcheroo. Too damb cliched. Even for my tastes.

Or, screw the clone thing, Gabe could pull through a miracle 'he lives' stunt. Wakes up in a hospital somewhere with only a get well note from everyone in the farmhouse ...

Yes, the private eye idea was good, and would work.

No, the zombies are also prevented from passing through the wards. The Lurker has to use his magic to make them live, and the ward protects against Dark Magic, so while he can revive them if they are inside, he can't revive them outside then make them break through the Wards.

Oh, I know. I was saying Gaaaaaaaay to my 'miraculous (sp?) recovery' idea.

The new 'Private Eye' character is in pending. He will be a rookie, though. Besides spying on husbands for jealous wives, he's never really had a decent case until now.

I suppose that either Rachel (Gabe's secretary) or a family member will hire him.

And if your character needs a hook to get in, IHMN, I could always use a 'Baker Street Irregular' along with me.

I was waiting for this mission to end before I plan how my new guy will come in. If the next mission will require lock picking/sneaking around, then perhaps one of the characters might just know my guy from before for what ever reason and contact him.

The David Zombie had 11 HP, and any impale attack (Aka any firearm attack) will only do 1 HP of damage no matter what. William's melee attack, along with doing double damage from martial arts, also only does 50% damage, but was enough to finish off the zombie. Against Zombies, melee attacks kill them faster, but mean you have to get in biting range, which is always bad.

And the Ward technically isn't ON the window, it is in the frame AROUND the window. Thus, it is hard to destroy by throwing stuff, and the Lurker is a bit low on time. He still has one last trick however...

First off, after this mission a Life limit system is going into place so you can't just say, "I don't like my char, so if I kill him, I can get a new one!" I am thinking a three deaths and your out limit, maybe.

Second, the stats are...

Shotgun - 30%
Handgun - 20%
Rifle - 25%
Sword Cane - 15%
Cane fighting? - I dunno, call it 15%

Third, no, if you think it up on your own, I let it go usually. I don't think I ever needed to roll those and left it up to the playes if they knew or had an idea or not.

I think the death limit should be 2, and only added into if the death was obviously on purpose. Like Demon's thing seemed very "I want him dead" (Though he denies it), so that would add into his death limit (But not this one for him). But if the death was because of a bad roll or just bad luck, then the death isn't counted.

The process is you need to pass both a Luck and Know Roll to be able to snap yourself out of it and live.

Of course you know the dangerous trap you set is, if I say she lived now it looks like I'm fudging rolls. If I say she dies, it looks like I did it just to prove that I'm not fudging rolls. The only flaw in that plan is, I don't really care if you think that I'm fudging rolls or not, so I'm going to call it like I roll it.

No, this first mission was a touhg one. The next one is easier. However, there will never be a Call game where there is no chance to die, and sometimes it is as simple as, my sanity was too low, so the monster convinced me it was my friend. You will die, and if you want, resuibmit the same character and I will accept it. Dying is only a problem in a mission. After the missions, everyone is back to normal for the most part.

And I will factor those in.

That's true, but in that case, it's krylo's call if Frankie dies or not, not my call. You could also retire Frankie, and just have him go his seperate ways from the group. It both allows him to cahnge characters, and makes it so perhaps Frankie could return as an NPC as some point...

It should be full of twists and turns where we try and make up why we have four people with their hearts eaten out (or murdered in some horrible way).... A living person with bite marks from a zombie, and several mentally unbalanced people, at this point.

Anyway: We say Father McGrudder went insane, lured us all to the house, and we'll lie and say we all arrived seperately. First he killed Demon, carving his heart out, and then he shot david and cut his heart out, etc. etc. till we get to him Decapitating that one guy and biting Frankie before J-man's guy (whatever his name is) snapped his neck.

Anyway: We say Father McGrudder went insane, lured us all to the house, and we'll lie and say we all arrived seperately. First he killed Demon, carving his heart out, and then he shot david and cut his heart out, etc. etc. till we get to him Decapitating that one guy and biting Frankie before J-man's guy (whatever his name is) snapped his neck.

I say McGrudder because he's the only one injured in a way that it's believable a non-insane person could do in self defense. The army sergeant's head was RIPPED off, by the way... so it's not a clean decapitation. Someone would have had to have actually held him down and pulled his head from his shoulders. Not something you would do in self defense... it'd be damn hard to do for a killer too... but it's more believable than: "Well the army guy was killing everybody so Billy tore his head off."

Also... burning all the evidence would incriminate us.

Well, they weren't really a cult... just a bunch of college students messing with the occult. That works too, though. I say we make Father McGruder out to be a cultist. I don't know why... just because.

The cult thing works especially well if they don't clean up the pentagram or anything... makes it look real culty. They could even put David's body in the center of the pentagram... as that it's had it's heart 'ritually' cut out (really eaten out, but a ritual cut out would work too), and no head. Looks like a cult killing to me.

Insane priest/Cultist. A body besides our groups would add credence to the cultist thing. Why would they just kill members of the group that was seen talking together in the library in ritualistic ways?

Maybe the group should go kill some other people and add them as well.

And the priest's hands would need to be covered in blood, and you would have to get some sort of instrument which can take out some ones heart that cleanly and bring it to the barn. A person can't do that with bare hands you know.

But isn't the father the cultist (Making up more would lead to investigations), and if you killed him why wouldn't the weapon be there?

Well, it's the 1920s... they can't investigate very well. We can simply say that he was one of them, or even that he was a victim. Their investigations wouldn't be able to turn up a whole lot, and all they could really do was stake the place out. The pentagram and what have you would lead them to believe the cultist story checks out... and if no cultists showed up it could simply be because they figured that they were found out. Cops would keep their eyes open for awhile, and then put the case on the back burners after a few months, not bothering to really look into it at all... but murder cases never actually close.

Possible Explainations

David/Gabriel - Ritual Killing.
William - Neck was snapped and was about to be ripped off. Cultists didn't finish the job, that was when the others had arrived.
Sgt. Mike - Neck snapped and then ripped off.
Frankie - Was getting his ass ritually beaten/biten/etc. until left to bleed to death.
Sithdarth - Had acid burns, I believe.
Hobo - Well...he got killed when attacking the rescuers or just happened to be there.
Various Animals - Cultists had apparently been there a while.

1) The Father couldn't be a cultist, because there's evidence that they had been there for a while and he (like most of the others) had just arrived a day before.

2) The cultists took the members and various animal corpses for their ritual. The victims were chosen by how people were snooping around the house, and the Hobo..was just there. If he was the zombie, he was an accomplice in this.

3) The victims had arrived much earlier than everyone else. The cult took them by surprise, and started their ritual. Later, the others arrived, and suspicious of something, were prepared to catch the unprepared cultists. However, the cultists manage to get away. Except for the Hobo, if he was the Zombie, because it's obvious that someone shot him on purpose, and the bullets were from one of our guns.

Cultists. David had a gun and was trying to stop them. It just so happened that two of the cultists happened to have guns themselves, and managed to shoot him before they could be shot themselves. As he was already dead, his body was the first one to be used as part of the sacrifices.

Of course, it can be said that Frankie would really be the only one to say this, and up until he healed sufficiently he couldn't speak with the police about this.

First off, in a note unrelated to this specific RP, who called for the invasion of the friggin n00bs? There's like three noob threads all of a sudden...

Second, I'm back, yo.

Third, blaming it on cultists is plausible.

1. Investigation in the 1920's was bad. They weren't nearly as sophisticated as they are today, and short of witnesses and obvious leads, there wasn't much that could be done.

2. They can get some people out of there, and while technically you could all just flee the scene, it would be suspicious if they track you down later and would take many persuade rolls to get them off your back.

3. You could always knock over a candle or something and say as the cultists fled, they accidently caught the house on fire, and there was nothing you could do... It would eliminate the evidence of weirdness, and still allow the crazed cult story.

I guess it was sort of rough for a first mission. Personally, I don't see a problem if I made an RP char and he dies, since it isn't too hard to make another, but to avoid driving everyone off, I will be more lenient on rolls in the future I guess, although I don't really want to...

Demon and Lazy, if you want to stay in this, you need to resubmit characters.

I am back, and will introduce the Post-Mission story type thing, but I will wait a day or two for everyone to respond before I get the story going full power again.

JADGuy, you new priest looks fine to me. When I post, there will be a three week period for everyone to train their characters/due miscellaneous. Frankie will be in the hospital for 1-2 weeks, and Sith may be in the hospital longer if I don't drop him outright (He hasn't posted in a while.) Everyone else will be able to heal up without medical attention.

And I know you have been itching to have your characters get a hold of some Mythos books, so after the next mission, the opportunity will arise... I also have an actual campaign type story idea after 2-3 more missions, although the RP will continue after that if you wish.

Hmm, Well, since I am going to post it eventually anyway, the investigators are about to get a small mansion from the dearly departed Mr. Merriweather as part of his last will and testament. This will be the new base of operations, even though it will start out empty. Basically part of the free time will be spent with everyone moving in to the new base. After that, they may (Or may not) start up an invetigation service to make money since many will have had to leave jobs behind. This will be a chance to get rid of stragglers (They can leave, not wanting to join the Mythos hunt) and allow new characters a chance to join (Think they are joining an average, everyday investigation service, until one day when someone gets the rumor, and the new guy is sucked into the Mythos.) You will join in specifically either in week 2, or week 3 depending on how fast the others are to set up their new buisness and move in.

Not as much. It takes one week for the mansion and all to work itself out, and one week to set up the buisness. All new investigators will have only 1 week, and they can't spend it with Dr. Armitage since he will deny everything to someone unknown to the Mythos, but they can train any other way they wish for their one free week. The characters won't be telling you they are Mythos fighters, you will learn when "Special Investigations" happen, and the new guys, while maybe warned, stumble on the Mythos for themsleves.

And while it is highly humerous, and I am very tempted to let you do it, I'm going to have to veto the Plate Mail Armor, since your character doesn't have the strength to use it properly.

Oh, and your dodge goes up to 51%. Just remember, that you can't dodge and shoot at the same time, so you need to choose. You stood and went berserk when Zombie David attacked, so he had the chance to bite you again.

Isn't the black goat of the woods the Dark Young? Can't remember, need to look that up.

Like he said, 9 or 50% is average, and 18 or 90% and above is superhuman. Thus krylo, at 4 STR, isn't even average in STR, and thus couldn't wear a suit pf Platemail, which is extremely heavy.

Spirit, change your post, controlling others characters is BAD. I hate it, and most everyone hates it, so cahnge it.

And skill rolls don't add up. Each time it is done it is a new roll.

Go with locksmith, IHMN... and I'm assuming that it does involve picking locks, and making keys from blanks (which you can stick into a locked door, wiggle around, and get a mold to make a key for), etc. Locksmithing skills.

No I didn't even know they were platinum until I checked it out. I won them in a bet with this one guy (the bet was over who would fall for this one gag I pulled.) Move (How far she moves in one round, a human moves 8) - 15

Bonus Damage - +11D6

Weapons - Tentacle 100%, if hit equals an automatic catch. She then drags you body close and sucks out your bodily fluids, draining 1D6 STR per round until at 0 STR.
Trample 75% - 11D6
Bite 100% - damage is 1D6 STR per round.

Armor - Shub-Niggurath has no armor, but her slimy mist body is immune to physical weapons. Magical Weapons, or fire, or electricity, or similar energies damage her normally. Her ropy tentacles and gooey vapors can rejoin, effectivly allowing her to regenerate points of damage. For every 1 magic point she expends enables her to heal 2 damage.

Spells - She knows at minimum all spells pertaining to the Outer Gods; she is knwon to have imparted Create Gate, Curse of Azathoth, and Voorish Sign to favorites.

Sanity Loss - 1D10 (Success) / 1D100 (Failure) to see Shub-Niggurath

And Spirit, Occult rose to 30%, and hadngun rose to 40% with the 20% bonus to 60% Handgun. All characters were healed of minor injuries. You will all start out, either from Spirit's mental healing or you own physical healing, at 100% percent Sanity and HP.

Corpses were burned, no looting for Frankie. Any skeletons or recoveralbe remains were buried as Jhon Does since there was no way to identify the charred skeletons.
