So my school choir, which I am in as bass, just went to state contest and got almost straight 1s in every category, and ended up with an overall 1 for each song, which in turn caused an overall 1 for the choir. Our Women's Ensamble (+My Choir Group's women) also got 1s at state contest, and the Men's Ensamble, which I am also in, is going to state in about a week. Mine sang 3, and women sang 2 (http://www.mediafire.com/?vzd3vz9zi20).

I don't know the arrangements for any of these except one... so eh.

SATB:
Red, Red Rose
Cantate, Sing to the Lord
John the Revelator

Women:
Dies Irae (Z. Randall Stroope)
My True Love Has My Heart

I used to be epic fail at choir-ness, but since about 3rd quarter started, it's been pretty awesome. We went on a trip to Dallas, but I didn't go. They got a 1 there too.

So the link above, if you haven't clicked on it yet, is a .zip of the 5 songs. They're poor quality, yeah, but eh. Can't do much about that.

The point of this thread beyond whoring myself out and bragging: Does anyone do anything with choir? Fan of the music? Have a career in it or some crazy shit?

I used to be part of a choir back in High School, I was singing the alto part, but I could've easily sang the tenor part, except they didn't want to because they didn't want a girl to be kicking their asses at singing their own part XD.

Since then though, haven't done any choir, but I do like to go and listen to some once in a while.

Z. Randall Stroope is amazing. We just sang some stuff by him for our Spring Concert.
