I have no earthly idea if this has been a thread or if this kind of thread is hated, but instead of a biased poll, how abouts all NPFers tell what their favorite Beatles song is...

Only one song? Man, that's a toughy...
I really love Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, but there's a special place in my soul for The Fool on the Hill, and I trip everytime I hear A Day in the Life.
I'm also starting to appreciate Revolution 9.
Hey Juuuuuude. Don't be afraid. Take a sad song, and make it betterrrr.

Mine would have to be A Day in the Life or Yesterday. I really enjoy these songs.
Although I'm rather fond of "You Know my name(look up the number)."
I'm also starting to appreciate Revolution 9.
That song is insanity in sound form. Have you listened to it backwards yet?

Have you listened to it backwards yet? Hmmm... I've heard of listening to I am the Walrus backwards, but not Revolution #9. What's it sound like backwards? I have it on tape so I lack the ability to.
My favorite songs (can't choose just one!) would be Cry Baby Cry and I'm Only Sleeping.
Relevance: Has anyone seen Across the Universe? SO much awesome.

Mmkay, for some reason (Being a heathen? Dunno.) I JUST NOW got really interested in the Beatles...
...How did I miss out on the best band ever for so long? I thought you guys were my friends! How did you not tell me?

We thought you knew...
Also, choose a favorite Beatles song? Preposterous. How can any one man make that choice?

Yellow Submarine.
And it's the favorite of all of you, too. Any other answer is a lie.
My friend's girlfriend has a hat with a yellow submarine on it...
Its amazing.
Yellow Submarine.

I sing this every morning in the shower without fail, from the first verse to the last.

Well, I must say, now I know what my dad was talking about when he told me that one of the Beatles tune played backwards had the words ''Turn me on dead man'' and ''Paul is dead''...he just didn't remember which tune it was. Thanks.
I also have a cap with the Yellow Submarine on it, and yes, it is kickass.
Yellow Submarine.
And it's the favorite of all of you, too. Any other answer is a lie. At one point, yes. But my favorite Beatles song changes often. Right now it's Michelle. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBwGmOexmNo)

That's like saying "Hey man, have you tried breathing? It's pretty sweet".
My favourite song has to be Eleanor Rigby. It's one of the last songs before he died! (You can't argue with me, it's confirmed by Batman!).

Blackbird.
Or the one about doing it in the road.
...Naw, Blackbird.

Ha ha ha ha, also a favorite.
As a general note but you know one thing I don't think the Beatles get nearly enough credit for is they were totally excellent singers. I happened to watch this American Idol episode where they were all doing Beatles songs and it was like wow that totally sounds like shit. I mean that's typically how the American Idol tends to sound but in this case it felt less like American Idol's singers being shitty than it was a lot of those songs just don't work if Paul McCartney and John Lennon and George Harrison aren't singing them and a lot of them are these apparently simple melodies with a lot of actually complex and subtle shit going on with them that just don't come through if you don't really know what you're doing.

Yeah, a lot of people take it as given. In most groups I've found, The Beatles were the one common ground everyone shared. Specific issues, though, could get divisive, especially regarding the White Album.... maybe because it's so weird.
It's funny, as an album, it's not necessarily my favorite, but it holds a lot of my all-time favorite Beatles songs, namely "Dear Prudence," "Happiness is a Warm Gun," and "Blackbird." Also, for some reason, I really, really like "Savoy Truffle." A friend recently had a rotten tooth removed and it took all the self-restraint I had not to highlight his pain by serenading him with that song. I hum it to myself everyday.
Favorite songs from other albums: "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)," You Won't See Me," "I'm Only Sleeping," "Here Comes the Sun," and "Because."

It was playing on my college's DVD-movie channel for a while so I forced myself to sit through it. Aside from the songs, which I could listen to on my iPod, it didn't really have much going for it. I left it on in the background though.

So, they had two weeks of butchering Beatles songs, one for solo efforts, one for the band's efforts.
There aren't even any hilariously bad singers this time around. It's all boring bland half-assed pop singer wannabe crap.
But enough of that aside.
One of my goals in life is to be standing in the middle of a crowd, and to just start singing Yellow Submarine, and, by the end of the song, have the whole crowd singing it with me. That would be awesome. It's right below "Catch a squirrel and throw it at a goose" on my list of life goals.

Seems BHS added little extra to the URL. Here's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Batman222.jpg) the picture he's most likely referring to. Also, this thread has made me start listening to Yellow Submarine again. Thanks for that, seriously.

I once witnessed a group of roughly 20-30 people spontaneously launch into "All Together Now." Granted, they were all theater geeks, so that was sort of par for them.

I small known fact is that I have been known to burst into dance whenever I hear When I'm Sixty-Four played anywhere.
But when I get into a generic Beatles mood, I usually start it off with playing The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill. So many songs though, I know what I'll be doing tonight.
