Yoko Shimomura = <3. She's one of the few redemption points the Kingdom Hearts series has.

Anyway, I love FF music. Though I believe Uematsu's FFVI is the best, I'm one of the few who adored Sakimoto's FFXII, which makes me very sad. At the very least Taro Hakase's Symphonic Poem: Hope is worthy of the best main theme in the series so far.

FFVII Cosmo Canyon's song and the one that plays during one of the Shinra reactors is also great. Also, can't this thread be about all of Square's games? I could then include Seiken Densetsu 3's "Hope" song and Chrono Cross' opening song.

I have to throw my chip in with some of FF10's music. The ending theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-oqSDGAUWA) to that game is BEAUTIFUL. I'm not sure what else to say about it, but it is a great song. I would have loved to play that in a group orchestra or something. It's such a sad and sombre piece.

Best Final Fantasy Soundtrack ever. It even bests Uematsu's efforts.

I liked FF9's soundtrack.

Especially the one Garnet sang.

They put it on the piano collection.

[Blues]

FF9 and Crystal Chronicles both have incredible soundtracks. Those two and Tactics are my favorites. For FF9, the song that plays on the title screen (lol what) it probably the best title music I've heard in anything since Chrono Trigger. All the music fit so well. Also, every time I visit the Black Mage Village in-game, I get a huge grin.

Though the first FF game with music that really impressed me was FF3. I can't get tired of Eternal Wind and The Boundless Ocean, and the song played when you find that priestess in the shrine really wrung a lot of feeling and atmosphere out of those four or five 8-bit instruments. I'm not too keen on the FF3DS remixes of most of these songs, though, and the original game doesn't seem to be as popular as I think it should be, so there aren't too many fan remixes, either.

The Black Mages just did the end boss battle theme from it on their new album, though, and it kicks ass.
