Elmer Fudd.

Jerry. He's a jerk and never has anything ever happen to him that actually matters. Whenever Tom tries to do anything, everything goes to hell for him.

There's a lot of characters I hate.
For no reason, thought? Now, that's a tough one.
I therefore elect all of these fuckers (http://youtube.com/watch?v=od1n6HcHcog).
Hey, it counts as a cartoon!

Yeah, the entire cast of Family Guy inspires irrational anger in the very core of my being. Except for Stewie, but only when he's actually being an evil-genius-baby and not a sexually confused (WRITERS: homosexuality does not automatically translate into hilarity) or stereotypical baby.

Oh, man! I LOVE it! You see, they made a reference to a popular "adult" cartoon show inside THEIR popular "adult" cartoon show. Oh, oh, and the characters are SO irreverent, swearing every few seconds and showing SEX and FECES uncensored! And RACIAL JOKES!
Oh, and the Family Guy references are JUST AWESOME. I LOVE the random name-dropping without any actual coherence and just milking a punchline for nostalgia.
Yeah, I liked Family Guy and South Park in my younger years, but they just irritate me now.

South Park is awesome. It's often some of the best satire to be found on TV, and Trey and Matt aren't afraid to tackle any issue. The whole Family Guy two parter was about censorship, while getting a few (well deserved) potshots in at Family Guy.
But, that's another topic. For this topic, I will say every single tertiary character in Family Guy that started as a one or two shot joke, but after Family Guy was uncancelled Set MacFarlane believed he shit comedy gold so we were flooded with what was essentially the same joke over and over again with little to no variation. Evil Monkey, that old pedophile, the vaudville guys, everything that should have been left a goddamned one-shot joke. But, Again, I digress, as I have a reason for that.
Hmmm.
Actualy, I can think of reasons for hating pretty much all the things I hate. Which is good. Makes ranting easier.
Xaeta

Ranting's fun....
The Family Guy thing is probably gonna go on and on. There are some points in the show that I like, but for the most part I really just don't like it as a whole. The constant cutaway-gags of off-topic vignettes gets very distracting and become just plain stupid after about ONE episode.
I like Drawn Together, but I swear that dude Wooldoor Sockbat just gets on my f**king nerves. His character just screams "MURDER ME!!"

Mike McC
03-26-2008, 12:22 PM
Well, that's kind of the point of Wooldoor Sockbat. He's there as a parody of all the crazy insane off the wall kid's cartoon characters, most notably Spongebob Squarepants. So yeah, he's going to be annoying as piss.

True that. True that. Among my list of hated characters are anybody from The Fairly Oddparents.

I don't know. Family Guy is beginning to irritate me, and I've been a fan of the show for some time now. Yes, there are points in the Family Guy episodes that I couldn't agree more with, such as the one in the end of "Boys Do Cry". Bringing back James Woods, continuing the ever-dead joke of the Vaudevillians and Herbert, cutting away to random jokes often referencing Family Guy itself and its habit of cutting away to random jokes that aren't coherent with the story itself, and what South Park dubbed "Manatee" jokes are just getting retarded as time passes.
Mike McC
03-26-2008, 01:40 PM
Seth MacFarlane. He's a funny guy at times. But now he thinks he's a comedy God and anything he shits out of his mouth is comedic gold.
Now, I liked the first seasons of Family Guy. The ones before the cancellation. They had the bizarre-ass cut-aways, but they were less frequent, and the stories in the episode themselves were more coherent and actually a lot funnier because of it.
Family Guy itself doesn't have much replay value. A lot of it's humor is found in these sudden, unexpected shocks and references. If you've seen it before, it loses a lot of it's edge. So, the constant repetition of jokes and self-referencing older jokes is less of comic genious, more fucking annoying and killing the humor.
Lord of Joshelplex
03-26-2008, 01:51 PM
I am of the oppinion that Family Guy could be funny, but because it uses moslty cutaways for jokes, they might as well make it a sketchcom. Some of their jokes are actually realy good, like the "Lost City of New Orleans" bit, but it is detracted by all the random, unconnected gags.

Okay, so with Family Guy basically drowning itself in the random cutaway gags, what's everyone's thoughts on American Dad? I feel it's been getting pretty decent lately and is probably the funnier of the two shows at this point.

Unrelated but more on-topic note: I despise Peggy Hill, but I don't think that's uncommon.Yeah, she has the annoying gullible, pedantic know-it-all-but-is-always-wrong vibe going for her. Also notice how a lot of Peggy-centric stories have her getting scammed, swindled, or otherwise in way over her head. Also, Bloo from Foster's Home from Imaginary Friends. The sad thing is Bloo started out likable. Then they turned him into a hyperactive jerkass, and I don't understand why.

There was actually a recent episode with her being totally competent and haggling a great deal on a new car just before Hank shoved her out of the way and paid sticker price and I was frightened.
I always thought Peggy doing something right would be a sign of the endtimes.

I always thought Peggy doing something right would be a sign of the endtimes. She does have her moments. She was able to con a con-artist (who had earlier conned her out of a lot of money with a fake IQ test and a fake at-home PhD program) by fronting an bad obvious con, and setting up a situation (Hank coming in to the rescue and confronting the conman) in which the conman would stash the money he got from the bad con in a safe that she had placed in his room, and took out via secret panel in a connecting room.
But on the other hand, her back-up plan was stealing the guy's car.
Plus, she was the last (except for Dale, who I'm pretty sure still doesn't know) that her best friend Nancy was cheating on Dale with John Redcorn.

Well, really, in 99.99% of all cases, you can come up with a reason for hating a character. There really is very little truly irrational hatred to go around.

Every character in Naruto should die with varying degrees of speed depending on how annoying they are.
Also, everybody in Death Note except for L and Ryuk cause fuck Death Note and ridiculously contrived plans along with your invincible super mega ultrazord god geniuses (but I like L so he's cool... except that he's dead so fuck Death Note!)..... Did I mention fuck Death Note?
Also, in non-anime stuff, that wizard guy in Fantasia cause fuck you nobody hits Mickey Mouse and gets away with it.

Butters?
Butters is AWESOME. Just because of all the shit he gets put through, and he is just this innocent kid, but then he has this dark side and stuff...
Like, when Cartman thinks he is dead and Butters get taken in for testing, they have him up on the probe thing, which is sodomizing him in the air heavily, and the doctor says "Don't worry Mr. and Mrs. Stotch, whatever traumatized your son, this will find it."

Eustace Bagge, few cartoon characters make me want to resort to violence more than he does. Gotta hand it to the makers of that show..they did a very good job at making Eustace hateable.
