Well, to start, no more "I beat a game." "I'm gonna be gone for a couple hours." "Yeah, I'm missing out of the forums for about 9 hours because I have a rare medical condition which renders me unconscious nightly." types of posts in here.

Keep 'em important. I'm going to be running a tighter ship on this, but I probably won't do anything too drastic unless you're a repeat offender.

So i've been gone forever. It's cool. Made a lot of mistakes, a lot of dumb choices, ended up in jail yadda yadda yadda. Straightened up, cleaned up, and here I am. New full-time job so I can pay off those bills. No drugs, no drama. New girlfriend that was there through the worse of it as a friend and has helped me stay sober.

Yeah that might be a surprise but if any of you remember me it probably won't be :/. Coming up on my first year of sobriety in March after being an addict for 9. Anyway! That's me. Hope that fits the requirements for the topic :)

I might not be a regular but I'll definitely be checking in more often. So yeah, if you ever wondered what happened to that mess, she's alive.

Danke

Can I say back after week and half in Maine? Too late. Maine is cold in the winter. Really FUCKING cold. Just the way I like it. So I come back, and all the forums, EVERY ONE, has a green atom next to it. Jeez, you'd think I was gone for a month. And now I'm completly lost.

Well I get out of the military, with full officialness, on the 8th of January. I've been on terminal leave for a few weeks all ready though.

I NEVER FUCKING HAVE TO STAND FUCKING WATCH AGAIN!!

That's like getting out of high school * 10, innit? Congrats, man. Also, does anyone know any sites that have advice on making a webcomic, as I've had an idea in my head for 6 months now and finnaly have the devices to make it, but I'd like it to not end up here? (http://badwebcomics.blogspot.com/) I'm trying to avoid making huge mistakes in story, and looking at BAD examples just isn't enough. Thanks!

Appearantly I suck so hard I literally BROKE my webserver. It's down until the admins over at 1&1 can get around to fixing it.

Like, BROKE broke. Beyond just code, something I did fucked up the whole system.

So, it'll be down for a while, so Rick Zarber's comics might not show up since he just hotlinks. (Which is perfectly okay).

EDIT: Hey cool I even know what did it, it's the Javascript I wrote. It's completely fucked up not only mine but also all of furnation.

Double Edit: Note to self: Don't write javascript EVER. Reformatting PC.

You know, if your skin got any thinner, I could read through you. :p

Anyway, to get back to the seriousness that Sailor Fenris was advocating in the first post, we did and didn't get the store. We did get the loan in time, only to have the owner decide that he wanted $15000 for the inventory and equipment as opposed to the $1500 we had originally agreed to pay. The deal was, of course, off, and we decided try and do this on our own. The previous owner said that he could go no lower than $9000, even though we had professionals tell us that his total inventory, including equipment, was worth $3000 at most (I guess he never learned about depreciation or white elephants). He also basically told us that his price included "his" customer base, so we're kind of terrified that he's going to be a douche and badmouth us to the local gaming crowd. Fortunately, we do have quite a few local gaming friends who know both sides of the story, and we're counting on them to help spread the word that we acted in good faith the entire time.

Unfortunately, until the place starts turning a profit, I have to continue on my quest for a full or part-time job until the baby is born. I've been looking into work at home stuff and I've done a couple of freelance projects, but so far, I haven't been paid for my work, and it's rather irritating. I've also signed up on various websites to accept work as a copy editor, tutor, babysitter, and pet sitter, and I've been submitting articles, artwork, and photography to various sites in the hopes that I can earn enough to keep us afloat while we're getting off the ground. I'm also registered with a couple of temp agencies, but they're pretty low on assignments.

To make matters worse, both of us are really depressed and discouraged. I feel like giving up and moving both of us back to Missouri, but it's not as if there's any point in turning back now. I have to stop procrastinating and continue bombarding every lead I can until I'm producing the extra revenue we need. It's frustrating as hell, but if we're going to survive, it needs to be done!

Keep trying, Lady C. It'll take a while, but I'm sure you can do it!

As for myself, I just got a job working in set design (for theatre and TV/movies), so that's badass. I just hope I don't screw anything up. The cool thing about creating sets is that it's something different each time. Granted, there are basic flat designs that are almost universal in every set and so on, but the details are where it gets really unique. That and now I can put on my resume "worked with Emmy winning set designer." I can hardly wait.

I might not be on for a week or more. Last night, the little pin from my power jack broke off, leaving me with no way to charge my battery, which has less than an hour left. I'm going to have to take it in to Best Buy, so they can send it back in to the factory for almost certainly a week, possibly more, and probably an arm and a leg. As such, all I have at my disposal are the school computers in the lab, and doing anything but homework will probably get me booted. Also, I'll be trying to conserve what battery I have for the rest of the day so I can prove that I could use a new one. So until I get it back, I won't be able to post, work on my rom, or do any comics.

I have a day job as well as my evening work at the gaming store. I had to get the day job because the gaming store isn't turning a profit yet and probably won't be for a few months. I'll be around less often, at least until we get the internet in the store, and I'll probably be tired out of my mind...it'll be three months before the kiddo comes out, so I have to do what I can to keep us floating along.

My computer got horrible infectious viruses again last saturday. I needed to completely reboot, blow up everything and reinstall windows to fix it. Nothing else was working as these bugs had been on since before I'd gotten antivirus software. They finally struck and destroyed most of the laptop's ability to run efficiently. It got fixed back on friday, but then I got incredibly sick. Like I spent most of the other day puking my brains out.

I'm still pretty sick, but my laptop in bed is helping me feel a little less bored. When I'm not asleep. Got a sore spot in my stomach that isn't going away (don't think it's appendicitis but it's still annoying.) Gonna see a doctor soon hopefully.

Here's hoping it's not serious.

EDIT: having gone back and read things, I wish you good luck Flare, as you've definitely got it scarier than I do.

The store now has a smexy new bar (no alcohol, though) and free wireless internet. We're hoping that February justifies all of the time, money, and manhours that we've put into bringing it to life. Considering that damned near every popular tabletop game out there has something new debuting in February, we should be just fine.

In addition, I have taken a new full-time job during the day in a call center until the baby is born. Never before have I prayed so hard for premature labor. (Just kidding--the baby's health is more important than my personal loathing for this kind of work. Besides, this is just a stopgap to help pay the bills until the baby is born, and it will teach me to be better at sales in our store, so it is useful, if not profitable.)

Honestly, how aren't people lining up to get in? That sounds freakin' awesome.

Well, some of them didn't check back, and the staging area of the store is so dark that in spite of our best efforts, they still think we're closed. Our next-door neighbors, who run a print shop, helped us out by creating laminated event banners at a discount. They really want us to succeed. We also have a postmaster general who likes to play at the store on Saturdays, so he's getting the word out, too.

Meanwhile, I'm getting the word out on the Internet, and we're looking at taking out a couple of ads in the local papers, but we're fairly certain that our target audience doesn't really read hard copy newsprint, so we're pushing the Internet ads as much as we can without going broke.

Besides, we'll get more free advertising as soon as WOTC clears qualifies us as a Magic tournament venue. It's a huge pain in the butt and a lot of paperwork, but it will give us even bigger discounts on merchandise, which we can then pass on to our customers.

At least now we're giving it as much as we can. If we do fail, we can't say we didn't try, and we will learn from the experience.

We're in Lansing, IL, and the website is www.lichslair.com. We also have a group on facebook, and if I ever get over my annoyance with myspace and/or get some time to make it, there will be a group on there as well. We've also started setting up on shop on CafePress, so I'll probably throw a link for that in my sig as well when our submissions are approved for sale to the public. Heck, I might even sell some prints of my personal artwork on there just for the heck of it. (I paint, take arty photos, and make cat macros from time to time, so there may be a lot of variety in selections, depending time, money, and my ability to get tons of stuff done all at once.)

Edit: I finally got the stupid CAPTCHA to take, so the myspace is www.myspace.com/lichslair

That's it!? Well that's about a 5 hour drive, but I'm glad it wasn't LA. This screams road trip. Maybe this spring or summer, you'll see me there (I just have to get a car, first :sweatdrop). You better stay open so I can see the place! I've got some friends and family in Illinois, maybe I can refer them... Anyway good luck, Lady C! See you later (hopefully)!

EDIT: I'd love to go now, but 1) school and 2) even though I can drive, convincing my parents that letting a 16 year old take their car on a 2 state trip so he can play "video games" (everything is video games to them, I've stopped trying to show them the difference) and spend all some of his money on said games is the tricky part. By summer, I've graduated and gotten one or two jobs and can convince parents otherwise. Oh, and I'll be 17.

Bless you, sir! :D I hope that we're around for a very long time. Besides, I would love to have people from NPF come visit, play, and hang out (and yeah, buy stuff, but that's just the shopkeeper in me).

In addition, we had a HUGE crowd here today for Heroclix, and we sold out of inventory. February's going to be even better, because we'll have sanctioning from WOTC for MTG, and the new Yu Gi Oh!, MTG, Naruto, and Heroclix stuff will be released. It's an exciting time.

My dog, whom I've had since I was nine or ten years old, had a stroke the other night. She's been fighting diabetes and blindness for the past three or four years, and this just pushed her over the edge. We had to put her to sleep today. If I post with more typos than usual, it's because I'm only using one hand to type. She started hallucinating and panicked, and when I tried to comfort her she was so scared she bit me in the hand. You'd be surprised how hard a 12-year-old poodle-terrier can bite when frightened. I was.

Part of me feels horrible that we had to put her to sleep. She's been with us since I was a kid. But she was suffering and we couldn't watch her live like this. So yeah. I'm pretty depressed.

Good news: I got hired for a job that actually utilizes my degree.

Bad news: I have to get some paperwork notarized before I can start, and there don't seem to be any local notaries, which is ridiculous, considering that this "village" is a lot larger than the "city" that I previously lived in, and one couldn't go a block without tripping over a notary in that city.

Worse news: Even after I get my paperwork turned in and start work, it'll be 40-60 days before I receive my first paycheck.

Bottom line: I'm stuck working at the dead-end job until I'm either laid off or obtain some other source of ready income (and the game store doesn't count).

Needless to say, I'm not especially happy right now.

Yays! I don't have to cancel the road trip! Also, have you updated the location on the website?

On another note, if you ever decide to open a gaming store, one of the best tactics to starting off is to move in with the local (well established) comic store. In northern Columbus, the Soldiery and the Laughing Ogre are nerd central come saturday nights.

Hey all. Ran into a bit of compy trouble. My brother's cat just bricked my external hard drive. Like, the one with all my comics and sprites. So, until I can either find a way to fix it, or at least get the data off, I'm kinda screwed.

By the way, FUCK Vista! There is no reason my data recovery utility shouldn't have access to what it needs to restore the boot sector on that disk. :stressed:

So, I completely lucked out in my college search and am going to Berea College. It has my utterly generic English major, plus the French program is pretty tight. I'm a lucky bastard 'cause I get tution, room, foods, plus a laptop for $1 my freshman year. Having to work ten hours a week for the school is a fair trade, I think. Anyone else on the college hunt, I suggest you check it out, if there's any space left.

Due to family drama, death threats, job training, and the fact that I could have this baby any day now, I may be on here more or less, depending on when the baby comes and exactly how much stress I can tolerate before my head explodes.

Also, should the death threats be genuine (and I'm 99% certain they aren't, but I'm also 36 weeks pregnant, hysterical, and paranoid), it's been fun being on NPF.

And who on earth would send you death threats, LC?

I'm thinking it's a new twist on the Nigerian scams. Apparently, they're going to kill me and my "husband" at 3am tonight unless I send them $1500 by Western Union to an address in Nigeria. Apparently, I "ruined" someone's life, and that person supposedly paid them to kill me. Yahoo, law enforcement, and mi familia are all aware.

So, yeah, it's a big load of BS, but when someone manages to track down my home address and threatens the people I love, even if it is via something as obnoxious as messenger, I get a little paranoid and pissed.

Oh, and if anyone knows anyone in the mafia who is silly enough to call himself a "mafian," by all means, let me know.

LC - let's play pretend for a second:

I am a con artist, coming into your home to try and swindle you. For the purposes of this con, I don't want to make myself known that I'm trying to swindle you, so I pretend that I'm.... a legal advisor - I'd come into your home, talking about the benefits of a program that would enable you to get monetary compensation for.... iuhnno, low amounts of electricity usage, or whatever. I would then swindle you while your back was turned.

Note while I was actively stealing from you, I made sure not to reveal myself in such a way. Now If I - a teenaged gamer in a small town close to the middle of nowhere could come up with a scheme like that without revealing myself to be a schemer... these people sending you death threats via email, trying to make it look like a mob hit should prompt you to post in here:

HERE! (http://forum.nuklearpower.com/showthread.php?t=27320)

Now, in brighter news, I have an interview for a job that I've wanted for the past little while. It's at a nursing home, so I ca nget work experience for nursing, should I ever want to get into that, and it's also high paying. ( ^^ )

419 FTW! Because I actually got the guy to be dumb enough to email me, I was able to view his full headers and trace his IP. Thanks to a couple of very good friends, the loser is on the run. I also changed my contact details, and I have now made my yahoo extremely private. Everyone that had it got a message with the new name, and anyone who wants it can PM me, and I'll share.

Anyway, in the realm of family drama, part of it has been resolved. We still don't know if my mom's sister-in-law faked her own death, but her husband (he is so fucking evil that I can't bring myself to acknowledge him as a relative) is now in police custody and will face several charges (several counts of rape, child molestation, assault with a deadly weapon, harassment, larceny, fraud...the list goes on). He may also be facing more charges, since he has done a lot of bad things to a lot of people and gotten away with it for over 30 years. He's ruined a lot of lives, and I'll be happy if he gets life in prison when all is said and done.

Meanwhile, life is still stressful and home life isn't that great right now. I'll probably be spending more time lurking in here than I should, just to blow off stress. If anyone knows anyone who needs papers edited or proofread, please point that person in my direction.

A bunch of emails like that were being sent off to random people through SIUE's email system. Maybe they decided that paranoia in these dark times was a better means of persuasion than luck or kindness.

So, yeah, if you get an email about a death threat unless you pay up, yeah, there's a 99.9999999999999999999999999% chance that it's a scam. As if it were real, they'd probably find a direct way to do it. Such as, at gunpoint in your bedroom in the middle of the night, or something.

Yeah new news, no one ever use Lypha to host anything. They're the ones who corrupted everything. They decided to ban a bunch of scripts and services today, and didn't really let anyone know they were going to. Then they ripped out all of those scripts, "to preserve the integrity of their servers." This effectively collapsed the SQL database for the forums. I am now 2 weeks or so away from enough money to move somewhere else, and I'm so pissed at those people that I am nearly unable to speak in complete words or sentences.

Some of you may or may not recall that I had recently (less than 5 months ago) announced that we had picked up a stray cat. He was small and bony from lack of food, and had a busted, swollen leg. He was aggresively friendly, and would often jump up into my lap and bump into my head (the really light kind that some friendly cats do). My brother's description of his fur was entirely accurate; "dry snow". I named him in honor to one of history's great scientists, Tesla. We did our best to give him food and water, and we got him to the vet quickly to check for diseases and parasites. We have bathed him about four times now (he keeps getting dirty somehow). We watched as his leg shrunk down to normal size, and as he developed flesh around his spine and joints. He loves to chase around a cheap, plastic feather-attached-to-a-string toy, and has done somersaults in the air from trying to grab it as I'd jump it over him. He's wonderful.

I can't find him. I think he's ran away. I think it's my fault, as I had left the garage door open. I've gotten blamed for it already by my father. "Next time you decide to leave a door open, try thinking about it." I've already choked back my tears thrice while writing this post, trying to contain my feelings, and analyze them, and accurately put them down into writing. I think it's supposed to make one feel better, to confess your feelings, or simply what may be causing them. I don't feel good. I don't feel better. I feel like shit.

So as some of you know, I've been working at The Gardens, a seniors center in Qualicum. Now, I had not previously know that I was "on call," which means that on days that on days that I have scheduled off, my bosses can give me a call and tell me to work. (T_T) That happened every day off that I've had so far - including calling me in for an 11AM to 7PM housecleaning shift that they never trained me for.

I've been working in the kitchen pretty much non-stop, doing this and that. I've gotten it pretty much down, but everything is so out of date - serving lists, meal/juice lists, etc. Recently though, as in last night, I've gotten trained to do laundry. It's graveyard - 11PM to 7AM, but it means that I get my days free and I don't get hassled as much by eighteen different people each wanting something. I also get paid more - I'm the First Responder on that shift, which means that if something goes wrong (a resident falls and breaks their hip, someone has a heart attack, someone passes away) that I get called to deal with it. I'm also in security and I deal with anything fire related - looking after the panels, making sure the residents are out, checking the rooms - that sorta thing.

It's a lot of responsibility, but I'm getting paid more than I've ever gotten paid before, and since I've been through training at the Fire Hall and I'm being trained at The Garden's, I'm sure I can handle it. Security is pretty much making sure that the doors are locked, letting people in and out, and fire is apparently never really an issue. It's mainly a resident is cooking and sets off a smoke alarm or something. First Responder is the one that gets the most troublesome, but we're encouraged not to do anything. Because we're not given a medical history of the residents, we don't know if they have HIV or any other such disease. It's a liability thing - the first responder is primarily someone who just comes in to assess the situation (whether an ambulance should be called or not) and keep a cool head as everyone else freaks out - just to be a calming presence and to say a few nice words to the people who are hurting. (^^)

The laundry itself is pretty minimal in what you have to do, but there's a lot you have to do. It's not hard, it's just tedious. The perks are that the few people who are up - a few nurses and such - are just there to do paperwork, or are there to help out if anything is wrong with a resident. So everyone's pretty chill - they've got a movie on the TV while they're doing what they're doing, so it's nice when you go on break. Because you have to wait for the machines to finish the laundry before you can do anything, and because you're not doing anything but folding whatever, you can bring in a stereo or a personal DVD player and just do that while you fold clothes. As long as you're there when a call comes in for help, and as long as you get the work done, you're good.

By the looks of it, this may become a permanent shift for me - complete with Thursdays/Fridays off. For real. No calls. So I can start hanging out with all my friends tomorrow. Yay! Anyways, things are going well for me. I may not be doing any better on the homework front than I was three months ago, or the romantic front, but I'm making progress in both. I've done a few packages, and I've been looking into some of my crushes. Work is the main thing in my life right now, as you can tell. Everything is being revamped, and there's tons of stuff to learn. Better I learn it now and get the experience in, rather than 10 years later and get nothing in. Oh well. (^^)

I have to go into the hospital for testing today due to a problem that has suddenly crept up. If the baby is in any distress, the doctor is going to induce labor. If the baby is fine, we're going to wait and see if the baby comes out on its own.

ETA: I hate my fucking job. I am looking for another while trying to maintain my sanity. Labor pain whilst talking to a moron does not make for a happy LC.

I was trying to think of a way to write this so that didn't sound like a pathetic attempt for sympathy, but I couldn't think of one. :sweatdrop

My dog died today. This came very much as a surprise, as she was just at the vet on Monday, and other than arthritis, she was given a clean bill of health. She was fine this morning, but this afternoon she was having trouble walking and breathing...heck, I was late for work being I didn't want to leave her alone when she was like that, so I waited until my mom got home before I left. When I got home this evening, she was already gone, she passed away before we could even get her to the vet. We don't have a clue what happened to her...old age, I guess.

She'd been with us for more than 10 years, so I guess I'm justified in being bummed out about it. I'm just trying to let it all sink in tonight so that I'll be better by tomorrow, because I know people at my work are going to ask my how my dog is, since I was late because of her today...so I'm just trying to get the sadness and such over with tonight so that I don't start tearing up at work tomorrow...because I'm so much of a wuss, I would.

Give your dogs another scratch being the ears for me. You never realize how attached you are to the little fleabags until their gone.

She was so old that she was losing control of certain bodily functions and couldn't hear/see very well, so we made the appointment to put her down... but she just left the house one day and found a quiet spot to do it.

WE used to have a cat, he was damn old, about 26-7, deaf in both ears, had cancer and his brain was slipping. We were gonna put him down, and the night before we did, he ran away. Its like he knew. I was pretty sad.

Theres Popeyes all over the place, and some other place I've never heard of that thinks its Popeyes called Bojangles. You can get boiled peanuts at a gas station. Everyone has at least 1 dog and a swimming pool, and everyone's accent is so thick you could cut it with a knife.

So as many of you may or may not have known, I was at Anime North this past weekend. It was a great time and I had a load of fun.

And it was here where I came to a realization with myself. There, surrounded by all the people like me, I was more expressive and able to be myself. And in doing so, I realized that I myself am Bi-Sexual.

Right now, I am sorta at ease with myself as I am comfortable in not hidng behind a veil to my friends, but the major problem is gonna be telling my own parents.

If any of you know anything about where I live, I live in a region where it is called, the Canadian Texas. So you can guess that there is a higher level of intolerance here.

I am not asking for advice on coming out to my folks. I just felt you people are better to know as I consider you my friends, and my biggest supporters.

Khael!

I'm back from Anime North too, and I am happy for ya, Mac. Hope everything at home works out okay for you. I just wish I could have awesome epiphanies like that, or get a girlfriend or something.

(No, I didn't get raped or anything horrible at the con. I lost at magic cards a lot to Nikose though. :P)

Actually, I guess I haven't been on here in ages. At first schoolwork was killing my online time, then HoRP. I can't use either as an excuse anymore because it's Bobcraft's fault I'm not on these forums so much anymore. Sorry I didn't mention this sooner before becoming a lurker. I hope bobcraft becomes boring one day and that I go back to hating all MMO's with a passion. I'll likely become a forumer again then.

Okay, quick update.
Went to Rome for a week. It blows. Everything is a rip-off, the people are rude and there is nothing to do except shop (which isnt great for me at all). We were there for 5 days, then we headed down to Athens. From there we hired a car and headed straight to Methoni, which is where my grandmother is from. We hired a car to get there, and it was quite amusing to see my Mom try to put the blinker on and get it confused with the wipers. For those of you who dont know, Australian cars are a right-hand drive while European cars are a laft-hand drive. Quite an experience to watch.
In any case, the people here in Methoni are great. Nice people, who arent afraid to bring themselves down to your level if you dont understand the language well. I am learning very well though, so the rest of the trip should be okay. The village itself is quiet, not many people and only a handful of tourists. Its bound to pick up soon, for which I wont be artound long for.
The family and I are off to the Island of Naxos next, which means only one thing. PARTY PARTY PARTY! Plenty of girls and a heap of nightclubs. Yay, what fun.
Until then, stay safe peeps.

Update on the magical Carolina adventure.

Apparently my uncle (whom my family is staying with until we purchase a home) has no functioning air conditioner. Or wireless router. I have to post from my grandmothers house, which is conveniently located in southern Louisiana. More good news, the car broke down somewhere in Florida on the way here from carolina and we had to get a rental to finish the trip.

I also recently discovered that Popeye's spicy chicken gives me diarrhea. Explosive diarrhea.

EDIT: Its 90 degrees in my bedroom.

Last Saturday I graduated college: Bachelor of Science (Didn't earn enough foriegn language credits for a Bachelor of Arts, so I went with the math sequence and got the Science instead), Two majors-- Electronic Media Journalism and Communication Studies, and a minor-- English.

Despite sending the payment a week in advance, Time Warner Cable still saw fit to act like they hadn't received and/or processed it yet and cut off our services anyway, then decided that, since they did go to all the trouble of shutting off our cable that we are obliged to pay them a large fee to turn it back on, too.

Our phone is one of those services, so I'm limited in my abilities to call and yell at them. Isn't that grand?

Anyway, I haven't the slightest idea when I'll have internets again so I won't be around for a bit and I dunno when I'll be back. Just figured I'd say something in case anyone was curious.

And I say, "Well, I know Clancy Brown's voice from about every cartoon I've ever liked ever."

"Well, he's over there in the blue shirt."

So I go and I meet Clancy Brown and shake his hand and talk to his parents, who apparently live around here. His mother said I had a very nice voice! But yeah, so I got all starstruck and had to get back to work and got teased for being a giant fanboy, but goddamn it I shook hands with Lex Freakin' Luthor! Hell yes!

EDIT: So I go check me out some wikipedia, and it so happens that his father who was with him was former Ohio Congressman Clarence Brown Jr, who himself served in the US House for many years with a cousin of mine, Robert Michel from Illinois. I do wish I'd known this at the time, as it might have been nice to mention.

She was moving her shoulder and mouth, twice while we were there, but the nurse said it was probably just some sort of reflex. They honestly don't know. They can't do any more testing until the pressure goes down in her head from the bleeding. But Aunt Helen's heart rate also went up whenever someone entered the room to visit, so the family all thinks she at least knows someone is there. We all talked to her. Phantom and I were sent home to do homework, but I didn't say goodbye when I left. Just that I loved her, and that we were going home. Goodbye would have meant I was writing her off, and I'm not willing to do that.

Good Lord willing, she'll make it through this and surprise everyone. Maybe just to prove the hospital wrong. She hates big-headed doctors and would love to embarrass them all that way. We'd never hear the end of it. XD

I can hope. I haven't cried for ages until today. Not bawling, but definitely smaller tears of worry. The kind that you can blink back if you have to, and that stay in the corners of your eyes when you don't. If she does die, there will be a lot more. But if she could talk, she'd probably wear grooves in everyone's eardrums with "Them doctors don't know nothin'! I'll be fine!"

I'd been meaning to visit her for longer than I'd like, but not like this.

UPDATE:

Things are not going to get better. Everyone is just waiting now until it's over.

Just thought I'd say there's someone pretending to be me in Yaplet, so if you go in there and I'm saying something weird or insulting, probably someone else.

You have my sympathies Bluestar. Seems a lot of people are going through the exact same thing this summer/year. At least you have gotten a chance to see her before she goes.

I'm sorry, Blues... it's nice that you at least get the chance to see her one last time, but it's never easy to say goodbye.

Tomorrow morning I'll be leaving at about 7 AM with my family to go to Louisiana and then Texas for a 2 week trip during which I will be helping various family members recover from damage caused by Hurricanes Gustav and Ike. I'll be spending the next 2 weeks using my spindly, nerdly little arms to hack apart trees with various combinations of Axe and Chainsaw until they're in bite-sized little chunks, and then haul them off.

While helping out is great and all, its manual labor. Im bad at that thing. Someone kill me now.

So my knee is gone. Just for a few days. he'll be back, though. He just left when I fell off my bike. i don't mean that I'm getting a knee replacement, I mean that my knee is too swollen to move for a bit. He should lay off the pizza.

That being said, my hand is pretty sore and bleeding, so Imma stop typing now.

My great grandmother died this morning. I should be sadder, but it just doesn't feel real. I can't even remember the last time I saw her. I actually feel worse about that than that she's dead.

First of all, noncontradictory, my deepest sympathies.

On a lighter note, I'm baack! I am officially single again, and bored out of my skull. I was trying to think of things to do in my free time - pretty much, what can I do online that takes me away from World of Warcraft for a brief interval. And what did I think of? Why NPF of course! I haven't really posted here in a good 2 years, I guess. Maybe even close to 3. But I notice some of the same people are around. I'll probably pop into the chat on AIM here and there to see if anyone is around.

Anyone miss me? hehe

NonCon, I know exactly the feeling. Don't hold it against yourself if you're not sad though. You'll have a better time keeping it together so you can console the sadder family members. That's essentially what I had to do too.

That's not strange. My Great Grand Father died years ago and I still feel terrible that I just didn't know him.

Sad thing is I don't even know if I'll be able to make the funeral. Still between cars, so even though I'm not working I might miss it. I hope I don't.

Im sending this from a place somewhere in Louisiana. Most of the hurricane cleanup seems to have been done long ago, so my family will not be going to Texas. Instead I get to chill here in Louisiana whilst hacking apart fallen trees just to pile up the parts and burn them.

On another note, I am beginning to suspect that the word "sex" is just a misused euphamism for the food they eat here in Louisiana.

Well, I haven't been on here in a while, and I don't really have much else happening for a while. So... I may or may not be back on here more often. (or something like that)

Well, Im back from Louisiana and the fracktard from that other site that was supposed to pay me for the repairs on the broken Xbox he sold me still hasn't sent the money.

I understand if someone is in a tough financial situation, but jee-whiz, is 30 dollars really so hard to cough up?

So in less than 12 hours I'll be gone for 2 weeks, holidaying in Egypt. I will not have internets there. So I won't be able to finish that RPG game I was in (assuming it's even still going, seems to have died anyway).
