I dunno. Maybe it's just me, but I'm in an Rp and everything and stuff is just flying by me at the speed of light and I'm trying to keep up but can't, right?

So I sit back and wonder how it is I can't keep up with everyone else. and then it dawns on me.

It's Spring Break, and I'm old.

See, if I was young, I would have known it was Spring Break cause I would be doing stuff instead of going to school. But now it's like:

"March 15th? Snap, skippy! It done be another work day for this Thugga, yo!"

My advice to all you kids: Don't grow up. Stop now! Stop before you have to start doing stuff like transfering your phone from one apartment to the next. Stop before you discover what 'Declareable Subsidiary Dependant References' are and why you need about 15 of them.

Stay young and flirt with girls you've never seen before. Before you discover what 'Prepubescent Alternetary Restraining Commandments' are.

Reference material is always useful. What we writers call, "Doing the research" can help to make things run smoother so you get less people dunking eachonther's pigtails in the inkwells in an Rp based in 2001. Research tells us that inkwells were replaced a long time before 2001.

Well, I covered all there is to know in two parts. My first post in the Sign-Up, and my first post in the thread, Weeeell I've been thinking...

Basically, evil stuff is in the world, and most people don't know. It's up to us, everyday average people, to stop said evils. The only problem is, this is so evil, it corrupts your soul, so then end result of those that oppose it are either:

A. They retire after a life of fighting evil. Very Rare.

B. They go insane from the things they see/read/cast. Common.

C. They are killed, either by monsters or cultists. Common.

D. They are corrupted and join the wackos and evils. Uncommon.

E. They actually succeed in banishing something like 25 evil gods forever. Bwahaha, never going to happen consideirng they can't even banish the weakest gods forever.

I wish I knew what you were talking about. Whatever seems to be obscuring the 'O' isn't, and if it were, that would be his pecs. Last I checked (and it wasn't recently) pecs are made up of muscle (mostly) and muscle is made up of sinew.

I hate making characters for RPs sometimes... author's block has been caused by being disturbed too often.
I would be lazy and ask somebody else to make my character for me, but the people who would want to make my character for me are probably the last people I would want to be in charge of making my character... *glances around*
So it's up to me to do on my own and not be lazy about it.

Found this while flipping through the manual, and thought I would put it up...

Call of Cthulhu is the only role-playing game where...

Yes, although if you are mind controlled, I will control you most likely. Also, if your reaction is totally inappropriate to the situation (I've mentioned examples) then I will randomly roll and force you to go crazy in a certain way. Also, there is Temperary Insanity which happens if you lose more then 5 SP in one shot and lasts for an amount of time ranging from a minute to an hour, and Indefinite Insanity which happens when you lose 20% of your sanity in one hour game time (At my discretion timewise basically) and lasts until cured. There is permenant insanity if you ever lose all your SP, but then you are for RP purposes dead, and I take control. I may put up another sheet that gives all the rules and options for insanity.

HOLD ON! When I say vote, I mean as a group you will vote in the RP on what to do. I will decide the situations, like what is happening and what your current scenario is, but you guys will decide things like, "Who do we send where? What will we look for? If its not to much trouble I'd like to make a few changes to my character:

2) Add some demolition explosives (wont be coming along everytime just when i think we might need it)

1. Nice choice, makes that attack 1D8+1 instead of 1D6, but it takes away impale (Critical) attacks.

2. I won't give you any big stuff, but your chemicals have been expanded to make Molotov Cocktails (You won't start with any, but if you spend the time to do so, you can make them), and you will have the ability to buy sticks of dynamite (An engineer doesn't usually carry sticsk of dynamite on him...)

Nothing heavier then those.

Thanks that was pretty much what i was looking for as far as explosives any why. The dynamite might not be used for pure demolition, it could come in handy for a room full of cultist or zombies, most likely zombies cause the cultist would throw it back at us possibly killing the whole party.

Just make sure that none of you do anything out of character. Buying explosives or carrying weapons are out of character for the tiems until you learn what is happening. Until your first Mythos encounter (Which I warn you now will cause all of you to get 5% Mythos points automatically...), none of you know what you are expecting...

I was just wondering is there anything in that book about how much damage it would do if I lit the dynamite then tripped and fell and dropped it causing it to explode in are midst, and how far away one would have to be to not be killed. Just wondering how carefull i should be with that and the Molotov Cocktails.

First off, anyone that wishes to use these weapons needs to add the Throw skill to their char. Just tell me and I will switch around the stats needed.

Second, if you are within range, the MC does 2D6 damage outright to anyone struck by it, and if unlucky you begin to burn (Meaning MCs are good against enemies weak against fire.) The Dynamite Stick does 5D6 (You read right) in a 2 yard radius, and subtract 1D6 for every yard after that. MCs have a 5% chance of malfunctioning and blowing up in your hands, Dynamite a 1% chance.

So, if you deicde to make these, be really, really friggin careful, because otherwise those cultist are going to be scraping you all off the walls for days afterwards...

Yes, handguns at least. But there are people with rifles and all sorts of stuff, so anyone with a rifle or melee weapons needs to go on the first scenario without it. Handguns are okay since they are both common, easily concealable, and stay in character for those wanting to defend themselves, but larger/more unusual weapons that, while useful, are not normal things to carry around will need to be left behind.

Yes, along with the frequently mentioned Zombies, there are also Vampires (Who have the classic Holy Objects rule, and a few others I won't mention to leave it a surprise...) and the classic Werewolves, on top of a long list of other supernatural evils.

And IHMN, don't worry about INT. All it would do for you is help you read the spells faster, and time isn't a massivly important thing in the RP, although it will matter to some degree (I will specifically say how much time passes at times so don't rush the time ahead). Once you know the spell, it's all about POW. And you may want to watch out for your Dual Wield in battle... (You may be able to dual wield, but you got a 5 in HP, so you can be taken out in one hit as it stands... But I will add more HP later)

And after looking over some scenarios, I realized death can come pretty quickly and easily in this RP... If you get some bad dice rolls and die, you can always resubmit a new char if you want and jump back in the story, although you will train and get better over time and new chars will always lose the training of the last char...

Death is inevitable in Cthulhu. That or insanity. Which is why it seems just as smart to have no combat skills as it is to have combat skills.

If you have the combat skills, you may be inclined to stay and fight.

Call of Cthulhu is, from what I've experienced, more about telling a deep involving story than it is to slug it out with Demons. With your past games in mind, I look forward to participating in a good story, Zero!
