How do laptops sinc up with the monitors? The reason I am asking is because my screen is now always pitch black or very, very faint. Also, when I connected it to the TV, it registered the TV as the first monitor. Anyways, that's why I think the problem is the computer connection to the monitor. So, yeah, how would I fix a problem with the computer connecting to the monitor. I don't think it's a problem with anything other than the actual connection, so yeah... I ramble...

If you mean connect to the Laptop Screen, there's a tiny-ass cable that's incredibly fragile. If your connection is weak there, and you can't honestly say "I know what I'm doing," Don't try and open it up to fix it. Take it to someone you know who does.
If you mean how does it connect up to other screens, Connect the cable to your VGA output and hit Fn+F4 usually, which causes the monitor switching to occur- Tap, wait, Tap, Wait, tap, wait. THere's three modes I know of- Monitor 1 On, Monitor 2 On, and Both On.

No, I meant connect to the laptop screan. I think either there is a problem with that or the screen itself. I wasn't going to try and fix it myself. Just wanted to know what exactly the problem was.

Likely the connection and the cable I was talking about then. There's only one cable.
My sister stepped on her laptop and has the same problem with the monitor now.
