I'm putting a new pc together, and I've been looking into current monitors. I've know all the obvious stuff, but I'm concerned about input lag (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Input_lag).
Wondering if anyone has bought a widescreen monitor lately and what their experiences have been. I want something around $300, but don't want to run into problems with input lag.

I can recommend Samsung models. I have the Samsung 244t 24" LCD and it's excellent. It costs $700 though.
But before I picked that one up I was looking at this model

It's 22" and is a award winner.
Here is a review for it.

I have a Samsung as well, and I held off on LCD monitors for a while due to my <3 of CRTs for rendering games and handling quick-motion like movies.
But that's silly to do now. Flat panels are fabulous now, and their color and motion handling have much improved. I can play FPS or MMOs with no issues.
The viewing angles are great, the contrast and brightness are excellent, and the picture is vivid and sharp. Just don't get a value monitor - make sure you get one with an average response time of 5ms or so (less is better, of course; mine claims to be 2ms).

Acer is a fantastic company that doesn't nearly get the credit it deserves. I'm running on an Acer model right now, and it's got my 360 hooked up to it too. Its wonderful.
Widescreens and LCD lag is really trivial. Almost doesn't happen anymore.

Acer EVERYTHING lasts forever. I've had the same Monitor and Mouse from my original computer for the last 3 years and they still work great.

I ended up going with a LG-Flatron 22" Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD Monitor-L226WTQ-BF
Seems to be working great. It's a shame it doesn't go to 1920x1200, but 1680x1050 is close enough!
I don't know what this is, but I want it.
