Freeware program to convert MP4 from WMV (or AVI)

I'm just wondering, is there anything out there that can convert a WMV file to MP4? Alternatively, anything to do the same w/ AVIs?

I'd like to create files to play on my PS3, and apparently it can only play said format.

A similar thing for iPods would be helpful as well.

Well, you could upload it to youtube and use http://vixy.net/ to download it in MP4 format, but it will take a much longer time, as well as limit your videos to 10 minutes length, as well as add an insanely short advertisement that says "vixy" at the end of the video.

Not entirely what you asked for, but a nice little alternative should things not work out for you.
