Am I the only person who has seen this? I swear not too long ago I saw an ad for Death Note coming to Adult Swim in October somewhere in the 20's.
As much as there are fans of subs and dubs, I've only seen the subs and I'd be interested in seeing the dubs they put out.

Ryuk- Crispin Freeman
As long as they fulfill that little wish of mine, I don't care who does the other voices.

Noppers:
Viz Media has confirmed the names of the voice actors for its English-language release of Death Note. Brad Swaile and Alessandro Juliani will voice the two main leads, Light Yagami and L. Swaile is well-known as an anime voice actor, having voiced Quatre in Gundam Wing, Dearka in Gundam Seed, and Rock in Black Lagoon. Juliani has also contributed his voice to numerous cartoons, videogames and anime, but has recently moved into a career as an actor. He is currently featured in the science fiction television series Battlestar Galactica, playing Lt. Gaeta.
Brian Drummond (Allen in The Vision of Escaflowne; Andy Waltfeld in Gundam Seed) will play Ryuk, while the voice actor for Misa will be Shannon Chan-Kent. Additional voice actors lending their voices to this dub will include:
Rem: Colleen Wheeler
Soichiro Yagami: Chris Britton
Matsuda: Vincent Tong
Mogi: John Murphy
Raye Penber: Michael Adamthwaite
Aizawa: Trevor Devall
Ukita: Jeremy From
Naomi Misora: Tabitha St. Germain
Ide: Brian Dobson
Several of these names were first announced at the Ocean Studios panel at Vancouver's Anime Evolution convention, which was held on August 18-20. At the panel, Ocean representatives also mentioned that they had dubbed twelve episodes of Death Note so far, and that the roles of Near and Mello were not yet cast. The first volume of Death Note will go on sale on November 20.

Having a DVR means never having to make sure of anything.
I mean, except for making sure that I set my DVR to record the show on the 20th.

And making sure you have some space left in your DVR saved program section.
Well to stay on topic, the anime looks pretty awesome. Although it probably won't be as suspenseful for me, seeing as how a read the manga up until the part where Light's father died.

At least now I know I'm not crazy and when to set my DVR for it. I won't miss it, I swear I won't. If anyone says the subs are better after it airs I'll cut them.

I'm abit dissapointed. I heard CN was gonna air a subbed anime and kinda hoping it was this. For reasons I wont share, though for the record I am a dub fan so have fun trying to figure it out.
As for the anime, well I've only read the manga and although I'm not a fan I always support pushing mental and thought provoking anime into the mainstream.

I found Death Note to be mildly boring, and the ending just kinda left me with a bad taste.
I don't think it will be any better in English.

It's definitely been over hyped to an extent, mostly by fans and, apparently, a lot of the [as] forum members. It will be interesting to see how the random [as] audience (who mostly get their anime through television) receives it compared to us folks who have already been through the series thanks to SCIENCE and/or the Internet.

I also read girly stuff... Yay, Chobits!
Ugh... Someone please tell me the voices I heard weren't the official voices... Now that left a bad taste in my mouth... Blehk! For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, go to deathnote.viz.com and click on trailer 3. I will not watch the show if those are the voices.

Dude what the hell is wrong with you.
I mean sure I own every Rainbow Brite episode ever produced (and her feature-length movie!) but you don't hear me admitting it to people.
...Well, until now.

What can I say, I have a soft spot for Chii. Plus, compared to EVERY other romance comedy thing I've ever seen, I actually like this one. I give it props for doing something that no other of its genre has done.

Uh...what? Chobits was written, drawn, and planned for an college-age male audience. What with the whole robot girlfriend thing.
Oh yeah, topic.
Read the manga up to the memory loss bit. Struck me as contrived, got bored, stopped reading. Never bothered with the anime.

I currently read four manga regularly. One Piece, BLEACH, Naruto: Shippuden, and Eyeshield 21.
I recommend Eyeshield 21. Anime football kicks ass.
... Anyway, I might check out a few episodes on [AS] just to hear the voices.

this is probably one of the smartest animes I've run across, so I never expected it to come to the states...

I've never seen Battlestar Galactica, but I hope that Lt. Whats-his-face is an incredible VA. Otherwise, I'm just going to ignore it on [adult swim], because L has to be the best.
