This is really weird. Whenever I do a copy-paste from firefox into something else like MSN messenger, Firefox won't load any more pages, giving me the yellow triangle ! thing.

Right now, if I want to link a friend to something I have to link, close down firefox with taskman, and open it again and say restore session. It's very annoying.

This sounds like a huge Windows error. This is the kind of thing that puts me so off I just say clean up your hard drive, make some backups, and get your fresh install on.

I suggest following these steps:

Make sure Firefox is up to date.
Clear your cache/private data/everything.
Don't dink around in Word 2007, as it is a steaming pile of crap infested with bugs, and looks and works like it was designed on an abacus, by a monkey, while drunk.
Simply use the text copying feature, rather than the link location.

If all those fail, get a copy of AVG Spyware for free and start blocking all the crap associated with Explorer and Microsoft in general. I also recommend looking at the advanced options, provided you know what you're doing.

If everything I've said fails, try reinstalling Firefox. You shouldn't need to wipe your drive over something this small.

Edit: Or if you have Vista, prepare to bend over and take it. Because it's Vista.

Oh yeah, also it's TinyXP... That could very well be the source of the issue.

Also, it has ALWAYS done this, and firefox is updated and all that. And it isn't the address bar, it's ANYTHING.

Did you try a different web browser? I would reccomend trying out Opera.

If it's everything related to Ctrl C+V, I cannot stress this enough: Try a fresh install of Windows.

It fixes every known Windows problem anyway - Make sure you've got all the drivers for your motherboard, video card, and networking card (Because those are the ones that allow you to get all the other updates and drivers), make sure music, videos, writing, games, pictures, and stuff are backed up, boot up from the CD, then pop in a Windows XP install disc.

This is the fastest way to fix a bug this bad, and honestly I don't think we can fix it. If you've already done the basic bug-fix things, better just reinstall XP.

Oh, also? Reinstalling Firefox doesn't change much. I had a problem with YouTube style video encoding for a long time, I ended up having to reinstalling the OS in that instance too.

Dur, and this isn't really my computer but I do a lot of stuff on it and like I can do most things, but I don't think I'm up for reinstalling the OS, formatting, or doing anything else of massive scale.

No easy fixes here, huh?

It would help if we had an error message or something to work with, but since it doesn't give one, we don't know what's wrong. What OS are you using? Are there any drivers listed in Hardware Profiles out of date?

TinyXP, and nothing is out of date.

The error is the same as if you try to get a page that doesn't exist or try to access the internet without a connection.

Edit: I can also copy and paste WITHIN firefox, like linking you guys on the link topic, AND I can copy-paste outside of firefox entirely and it has no effect, AND I can copy something INTO firefox and it works fine, but if I copy anything from firefox to outside of firefox, it crashes.

I used to have THAT problem too, but that's not the problem this time.

This time, I can copy and paste, but doing so disconnects Firefox from the internet.
