I predict a bottomless swamp of wretched awful. Like, they kill off every single character in the first half-hour except Hiro who runs in front of a bus to save the life of Mohinder, at which point they unveil that they've renamed the show Mohinder: The Smartest Man in the World and Maker of Intelligent Decisions.
There, my expectations are now suitably low that I'll be able to enjoy the show on its own merits.

Nah, I've been thinking, and he mentioned that Hiro was the first to ascend, or something. So, he's involved, but as like a secret keeper or something like that. I don't think he has any actual powers. So, I doubt he's Kensei.

It's his Girlfriend why would he invite her over to his place? I mean, Geez...! You people have some weird ideas sometimes....
I read a very small portion of the HUUUGE spoilerfest article in Entertainment Weekly--namely, the page where they introduce the new characters. I was surprised on the subject of Kensei, because though I was quite sure that he would be Hiro's ancient daddy, it turns out he's some sort of drunken old English guy. Also, that chick from Veronica Mars'll be a semi-bad guy, and we got some Wonder Twin action coming up soon.
Also, I heard a rumor that they'll focus on a smaller number of characters per episode, so it'll be like you watch to find out what happens, rather then watching to find out if something happens.
CAN NOT WAIT.

Well, he didn't actually say that. He said, "I've been waiting a very long time for a Nakamura to ascend." Which would make perfect sense if he was Kensei, watching his descendants and waiting for another powered person to appear in his family tree.

I just watched Resident Evil: Extinction. Nikki and Jessica look very fine with red hair. Also, I thought the episode was a little dry for an opener. It could have stood to be a 2 hour premier so they could actually get to the meats of it, instead of just doing a partial roll call.

They covered quite a bit of ground, really.

Kind of. Nothing of consequence happened. It was just everybody being "hey, lookit me, I'm not dead. Look at this tantalizing hint of wacky adventure." I get why they do it, and I get that it can't be non stop action all the time. I was just hoping for something a little meatier. Although I was reading that this season is based on the premise of 'extraordinary people doing ordinary things,' which bothers me. I don't need to watch Superman flossing his teeth.
Also Nathan's beard is kickass. The only bad thing about will be when he inevitably shaves it off when he 'gets his shit together' after meeting up with his brother.

Ya know, I guess when Invisi-Who said that he had met other power-copiers before it should have driven a nail in the coffin of my 'Powers like fingerprints' theory, but gosh darn if I didn't think the writers were going to give every character a unique aspect. Not that I can fault them, I'd rather a few powers repeat than have a few retarded people walking around with boring/ridiculous abilities. Although giving Claire's next romantic interest the same power as her father...I dunno if it's ringing lazy or anvilicous or possibly squick-esque. If the whole "Make up superhero names for the Heroes" practice is still going on into Season 2, can I offer up HipstAir for the newest flyer?
Has Alejandro been outed as a powered yet? Maya is obvious, what with poring over the universally available, and translated?, niche book on superpowers, but I got the vibe that Alejandro was just a normal big brother who is the only one capable of calming down his sister.
I guess we'll have to wait for the inevitable "Four Months Ago" episode before we find out how Nathan dodged a nuclear blast/how Peter got amnesia'd. Hopefully Nathan shaves off that ridiculously fake beard so Peter can have a proper realization, because without the emo hair Peter won't get memory triggers from looking in a mirror.
No 'My Two Dads' references yet? Tsk tsk.

I'll throw my vote in for "Obnoxious Douche." Yeah, that new flying douchebag has already pissed me off. He's almost as douchetastic as NOAH Bennett's new boss. And Kensei, while a cool guy, is sort of cliche, also. Oh man, a childhood hero who wasn't very heroic at all. What a plot twist.

I thought we went over this before. Its really not that shocking. Once something starts going up at what seems like Mach 1.5 or so it takes some time to stop going up. Thus, Nathan could have just took him up a few thousand feet and let go while he was still going up at full speed and then flew off. He was probably pretty sure Peter would survive both the explosion and the fall and they'd find him later. Of course it appears someone else got to him first.

His wording on that blog sort of alludes to the idea that there is more to the disfigured Nathan than just a reflection. "Who is this vision?" sounds to me like he may now have an alter-ego, or represent the side of him that once leaned toward the dark side.

Well an evil clone of one of the heroes is the next logical step. Its in the comic character handbook.
It's like the natural progression in a soap opera. A couple falls in love, they get married after some tribulations, suffer a stalker/ex-wife/murder-plot, get pregnant, and one of the parents dies from a brain tumor.
Totally logical.
Plus, I think an evil Claire would be so badass.

I think it would be better just to get rid Mr. High-Flying, Bullshit-Spouting Stalker and pretend he never existed, y'know like they do all the time in comics. And what the hell is wrong with Peter? Well, actually, the writers/producerts discussed whether or not to duplicate powers. Anyway, what they decided...And no, similar powers do not mean a genetic link. We've seen that the existence of powers may be something passed on, but the powers themselves are a crapshoot of sorts. For example, phase-man + strength-girl = talks to machines. We hit a crossroads as we stared populating our universe with more characters. To duplicate powers or not to duplicate powers. The thing we loved about duplication of powers was that it spoke to character more purely. If Claire can regenerate – does that define her character – or does it come from her heart? The best way to explore that is to find someone else who can regenerate. (So, keep an eye out for that person.)Source: Behind the Eclipse: Season 2, Week1 (http://www.comicbookresources.com/news/newsitem.cgi?id=12002). Please note that, along with Greg Beeman's blog (http://gregbeeman.blogspot.com/), Behind the Eclipse also carries spoiler warnings, even ones that extend past the current episode (though those tend to be rather minor, but are still there). And what the hell is wrong with Peter? Mere minutes ago he discovers he can move objects with his mind, and he doesn't think that instead of committing crimes just to get back a box of his stuff, he could use that power to take the box out of Asshole O'Hara's hand?It could have been a bluff, and the box was empty, and then he'd be really screwed. It's likely he didn't fully trust that revelation himself, and knew that his nuts were in a bind right then anyway, so to speak, and Peter also has no idea what the fuck is going on with him and his powers either.

But it's okay, 'cos he's totally undercover for le Bennett and he and Mohinder want the Haitian back. So he failed to screw up by screwing up? And his very first assignment just happens to be to cure a guy who turns out to be le Bennett's right-hand memory-fucker-upper? I get why Peter lost his memory. It effectively removes Superman from the comic series for a while so the people who aren't flaming fucking badasses with every power necessary can't basically go around and deus ex machinae everything.
What I don't get is why it seems like the Haitian did it (what with the Helix pendant and all), especially if he's working for Noah. I do like the new villain though, I wonder what his power is going to be.
Ooh! Does anyone else predict that Peter is going to assimilate Maia's power without assimilating her brother's? The only real reason I think they wouldn't do it is because it's too much like the whole "Exploding Man" thing from season 1.
So, it is possible Kensei is Claire's great great great great great great great granddaddy?

So I've decided that there's no way Peter should even be able to use his powers, as it was stated previously that he needed to think about the original power user in order to do so and he can't even remember any of them. I kind of doubt the latter as it seems like a pretty bad setup for sussing out a mole. I mean the Haitian's power is 'gives people comas' and IIRC King Midas didn't tell Mohinder anything about the Haitian's powers in advance, it seems like a situation much more likely to invite an honest fuckup rather than reveal an agent's disloyalties.

So, it is possible Kensei is Claire's great great great great great great great granddaddy?
Powers aren't passed down genetically. Even if they share the same powers, it doesn't mean they're related.
Direct family members don't have seem to have similar powers, after all. Unless you're related to Peter - but he absorbs their powers anyway.
The twins seem to be an exception, as it seems like their powers have something to do with each other. Then again, it could really just be a coincidence/good luck that they happened to be together.
