Just a question on Red Mage's BM prestige class. Does it get normal spell progression along with Hadoken and stabbing frenzy?

Doesn't look like it does.

nope, you got to chose the spell or the ability. mmmmm.... Huge damage but close, or picking off from a distance...... the make or break choice...

why not have both worlds? go with a long range skill what will kill or rend the target helpless. then take your time closing the distance between you and the target and stab it's fleshy, lifeless corpse into a fine red mist.

Because
A> you will inhale to mist and take damage. (Ever smell freshly butchured meat? especially if an intestine is punctured)
B> You will then not be able to raise it from the dead to do your bidding. Who doesn't think a mindless undead slave is more fun than a kaniving companion?

Wouldn't you just get nauseated status instead?

Hey, you might be able to raise it as a Hakaeshar (infinitely better than mindless undead slaves)!

Yes... no problem there. It doesn't smell that bad... but are you shure it was fresh when you butchered it?

For that matter, why not just teleport the poor fool some three miles up, and let him fall? Then you get a corpse to be your mindless slave, you get the whole death by physical combat thing, and you dont get your pimpin' robes all bloody. What could be better?

Nybor's Joyful Voyage seems to do that... though it only teleports them about half a mile up. The falling strategy it doesn't work on anyone who can fly or has access to feather fall...

And, can you really animate a corpse that has become goo from such a fall?

You could always use Create Undead or Create Greater Undead... I like my nishruu and hakaeshars...

Like the Gravity Flux spell from Everquest...although, granted, the Z-axis is a confused and neurotic entity in that game...
