My brother happens to have gotten himself an X-Box, but its location makes WiFi the only option. Thing is, we'd like to not have to buy anything new & expensive if we can help it, and the X-Box is currently being kept right next to a Wi-Fi equipped computer.

Is there any way to plug the X-Box into that, in order to access the Wi-Fi?

I believe the original X-Box has a wireless addon.
such as this (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xboxwirelessadapter/)
Then, all you'd need to do is connect it to your wireless source.

So, if you have an access point that your computer connects to, use that. If you mean that your computer can broadcast as an access point, then you'd probably do best checking your connection sharing options.

I haven't had to do the latter, so I can't rattle off any help without finding some more information, but I think you an use a search engine just as easily as I might...

Yes, I know about that. The problem with that, is it isn't cheap. Again, what I'm specifically asking for is a way to plug in the X-Box into a computer that has WiFi reciever card already equipped.

I was thinking somewhere along the lines of plugging in an ethernet cable from the X-Box into this computer.

Hmm...sounds like something I tried to do....Well, hmm....if you were somehow able to hook your xbox to your PC, and your pc read it as a network connection, you could go to "network connections" on your PC and right click the two of them (wifi and xbox) and "connect" them, as I understand, which would allow the XBox to use wifi through your pc.

However, I was unable to do this myself as my linksys usb wifi card is run purely by program and is unconnected from every other program on my pc (which means that aside from LAN games and internet, i can't do Sh*t).

So I don't know if it will work....lemme check the internets.

This may be relevant, though I don't know if it works...

It's basically saying you need a crossover cable (a one line ethernet connection cable between two computers. The xbox to xbox cable is one of these.) in order to use your computer as a hub.

Oh, if you just want to use Wireless to get your PC onto the network, you can then have it use the wired connection to share its network link with the X-Box. Just look up "sharing my Internet connection" or similar for your OS version.

It would probably be easier to test that this works with another computer, since the X-Box's interface is limited.
